Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Discount Store Latest Community Discussions About Store Locator Tool in USI built a tool that finds local businesses with bad websites (Need feedback)3h agoHey everyone I've been working on a tool called [LeadsByLocation](https://leadsbylocation.com/) and I'm looking for honest feedback from people who actually do client outreach to local businesses. The problem it solves: if you sell web design, SEO, or any digital service to local businesses, you know how tedious prospecting is. Browsing Google Maps, clicking through listings one by one, checking if they have a website, testing how bad it is, copying contact info into a spreadsheet. It takes hours before you have anyone worth calling. LeadsByLocation lets you search a keyword and city (like "plumber in Denver") and instantly pulls up a list of businesses with their ra... Over 2.5 years, she has lost 20 lbs (40% of body weight). Despite reducing her Levothyroxine dose by 75% over that time (from 0.8mg/day to 0.2mg/day), her T4 levels paradoxically continued to rise, and her TSH became fully suppressed. **The Crisis:** This week she hit a wall: complete anorexia (refused even smoked ribs), yellow bile vomiting, severe tremors, and intense nausea (lip-licking). **The Response:*... KYF42 boot loop - can it be salvaged or am I screwed?3h agoI got my lovely new (used) Kyocera KYF42 delivered last week, and by the evening of the same day I had bricked it. I'm averagely tech savvy but clearly not enough to have been messing around with it in the way I was. Here's the sequence of events: 1. Installed F-Droid, Aurora Store 2. Set up WhatsApp, Opera Mini (and some Google apps before realising I couldn't use them and so uninstalled) 3. Installed the 'key mapper & floating buttons' app from F-Droid - I wanted a way to right click/long press in the browser to highlight text/copy URLs/etc (not sure if this just isn't possible with this model/flip phones generally, but I tried) 4. Realised when I re... [Of Dog, Volpir, and Man (Out of Cruel Space)] - Bk 9 Ch 73h agoJerry He settles back in his chair in his conference room, puzzling over what his leadership team has brought him. "So we stumbled onto the ‘secret colony’ of some separatist movement, which in Human terms are a bunch of sovereign citizen extremist types who like to go build compounds and buy what, even by American standards, is considered a lot of guns... and because we accidently wandered vaguely near their lawn, they tried to shoot at us. Or, more specifically, tried to shoot up the Eclipse Rider. We lit them up for their trouble, then James Puller and A Company went down and put the boot in. And it's no big deal?" He resists sighing as he tries to keep pace wi... Open Source Tool to make Seedance 2.0 Cinematics for your Game3h agoYou might have heard the internet blowing up about "Seedance 2.0" from ByteDance (the TikTok company). It's every bit as good as they say. It's better than Veo, Sora, and Kling by a mile. It's frankly insane what it does. There are a few sketchy places you can use it online that got Chinese API keys, and we're basically sitting on top of those until the official American API comes out. It was supposed to come out on the 24th, but ByteDance pushed it back on account of Hollywood pressure. ArtCraft is open source software. The code is available on Github. We're just getting started with the app, but our goal is to make a fully flexible "bring your ow... AppleCare One workaround for covering devices not signed into your Apple Account3h agoAppleCare One is honestly a great deal, especially if you own a lot of Apple products like most of us here probably do. But one frustrating limitation is that every covered device has to be actively signed into your Apple Account to stay eligible. That means you cannot easily cover a family member’s device, or even lend someone your device for a while. If you erase a device and someone else signs in, you get an email saying you have 24 hours to sign back in with your Apple Account or the device will be removed from AppleCare One. This became especially annoying with my Vision Pro. I let my dad use it for a couple weeks, and because he signed into it, I got the 24 hour warning and had to ... Which front-end tool to use?3h agoI'm building out a new tool for an electrical contracting company to use internally. They currently use an appsheet app, but are outgrowing it quickly, and it lacks many features. We have a back-end table structure in supabase already. I started with airtable, but the complicated workarounds for creating new related records inline was a no go. I've been looking into JetAdmin, which seemed promising, but the distinct lack of a community around this tool has me worried. The app is essentially a basic CRUD app, but the relations and features requested and scope have me wanting to find the right tool and get to work, rather than spending time somewhere to hit a roadblock and have to s... Automatic sub-tasking?3h agoI was going to comment on a [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA/comments/1rcjepp/) which compared small local LLMs in agentic work but unfortunately it was removed just before I could add the comment because it mentioned OP's website. One of the LLM comparison images still seems to be [here](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fi-benchmarked-17-local-llms-on-real-mcp-tool-calling-single-v0-ql5mqil7a9lg1.png%3Fwidth%3D2013%26format%3Dpng%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D68142e65c9ad21b659ac250edd4e490b9c991fb7) I couldn't recover the post text but there was a lot of good analysis of how and why small models fail and there was this one point in particular, abo... minecraft 1.21.11 server for EU players - MinecraftOffline3h ago**MinecraftOffline** IP - minecraftoffline.net Website - www.minecraftoffline.net We use custom plugins to make the experience a little bit more unique: • SimpleHome - Set and teleport to your home location using /sethome and /home commands. • SimpleTPA - Request to teleport to other players with /tpa and /tpaccept commands. • SimpleLifesteal - Implements a lifesteal mechanic where players gain hearts by killing others and lose hearts upon death. Your ATS resume is not being rejected by AI, part 2: Semantic search explained3h agoQuick update because my last post about ATS kinda blew up (250K+ views) and I keep seeing the same myth repeated: "Okay, so ATS doesn’t reject me with AI… but now it uses semantic search, so keywords don’t matter anymore, right?" Still no! The truth is more boring and more nuanced. Recruiters still rely heavily on classic keyword + a boolean search (AND/OR/NOT). That’s still the backbone of how sourcing actually works in tools like Greenhouse, Lever, etc. No magic there (see my previous post to understand this, not allowed to post links). BUT, enterprise ATSs (Workday, Oracle, iCIMS, SmartRecruiters, and more) increasingly add "semantic" layers. This "(ai... Closed Beta Testers Needed - Visual Smoking Accountability App (Android)3h agoHi everyone, I’m running a closed beta for an Android app and I’m looking for testers. It’s a visual accountability tool for smokers. Instead of streaks or motivational messages, it shows visible changes over time based on your smoking behavior. When you log a cigarette, there’s a visual impact. When you don’t, it gradually rebuilds. The goal is to test whether this more direct, visual approach actually helps with awareness and consistency. If you’re interested in testing and giving honest feedback, here’s how to join: 1. Join the Google Group: [https://groups.google.com/u/2/g/smokr](https://groups.google.com/u/2/g/smokr) 2. After joining, opt in to the beta here: [https:/... FoodTruck Bench update: tested Sonnet 4.6, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Qwen 3.5. Case studies with comparisons for each.3h agoThree new models tested and added to the leaderboard since last week's post: Claude Sonnet 4.6, Gemini 3.1 Pro, and Qwen 3.5 397B. Wrote detailed case studies for each. Here's the summary. Claude Sonnet 4.6 — massive leap from Sonnet 4.5. Genuine business reasoning, zero bankruptcies, $17.4K net worth. But here's the thing: a single simulation run on Sonnet costs only 10% less than Opus ($23 vs $26.50/run). For that near-identical price, Opus delivers 3× the agentic performance ($49.5K vs $17.4K). Why is Sonnet so expensive? Verbosity — it averages 22,000 output tokens per day, while most models write ~1,000. Full analytical essays, ALL CAPS post-mortems, ingredient-by-i... I got annoyed with my IT job and coded a solution3h agoHey everyone, I’m currently working in Tier 3 support and studying for my next round of certs. I realized I was wasting way too much time looking up the exact same CLI syntax, default timers, and Docker configs every time I labbed something up or troubleshot an issue at work. So, I built an Android app called **Cannoli Shell: IT Pro Tools**. It’s strictly a pocket reference tool for SysAdmins and Network Engineers. What it actually does: * Gives you instant command cheat sheets for Cisco, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, etc. * Quick references for common port numbers, subnetting, and network fundamentals. * Gets you the exact syntax right the first time without having to dig through vendor... Top Interesting Facts and Stories About Air Conditioning That You Might Not Know3h agoDid you know AC was invented to dry printer ink, not to cool people? That the Sistine Chapel has an invisible curtain of conditioned air protecting Michelangelo's ceiling from tourist breath? That there's a ski slope in Dubai maintaining a 63°C temperature gap from outside? That Microsoft sank a data center into the ocean? Here's every strange AC use case we could find, from ancient Egypt to abandoned nuclear bunkers. # 1. The Original Invention Wasn't About Human Comfort At All Willis Carrier invented modern air conditioning in 1902 — not to cool people, but to solve a **humidity problem at a Brooklyn printing plant** (Sackett-Wilhelms Lithographing & Publi... 🛡️ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
