Homemade chipotle style food?

9h ago

I really want to make chipotle style food. Bowls and burritos, even salsa. I feel like there is enough variety in that to never get tired of it. There are a ton of recipes online but it's a bit overwhelming trying to figure out which ones to follow. Does anyone have any favorite resources that focus specifically on that style of cooking/flavor profile? Or even just your favorite recipes for things like that? I've made a lot of authentic Mexican food and even tex mex, but I want to start focusing on that specific style of food.

Trying to find this hot sauce from Grapevine Cafe on SPI anyone know where to buy it in the RGV?

9h ago

Hey y’all, I’m trying to track down this hot sauce my family loves. We usually get it at Grapevine Cafe & Restaurant on South Padre Island, but when I called to ask where they get it from, they either didn’t know the distributor or kinda gave me the runaround lol. I live way out in far west RGV, so I really don’t want to make the drive all the way to the island just for hot sauce, but my mom has been craving it bad. I think it’s called **El Indio Red Chile** hot sauce (15 oz maybe?). I attached screenshots and a blurry pic of the bottle from the restaurant table in case anyone recognizes it. Has anyone seen this sold anywhere in the Valley? Maybe at H-E-B, local Mexican ...

Service Leader Internview

11h ago

I got an interview for the Chipotle Service Leader Canada through their automated system of hiring. I wonder how likely it would be to get the job, the store is 5 min away from home and I don't care as much as I need the job and be able to save as a student. I got interview for the CM too. I am a undergrad student who worked in restaurants for summers when I was in high school, ran an international school summer programs for hundreds of students while in high school too. I wonder if the interview is random and very unlikely to be hired or I should actually be serious as I have a good shot. What do they ask and what do I talk about. I love working with people and I am very easy goin...

(5-7k) Self serve Taco Bar, genius or chaotic?

15h ago

Hello! My Husband and I are having some difficulties with deciding on wedding food. Guest count is about 80 My father very generously has offered to pay for the wedding party food. Everything will be self serve, there will not be formal catering service as we are hosting at our house and having a backyard style party. For context: We eloped last summer and are having a wedding party for our family and friends to meet this July. There will not be a ceremony or seating arrangements, it's going to be very relaxed. We are saving a fortune on the venue as we are doing it at our house. Our family members are able to provide party tents, tables and chairs. Dad is a former chef and defin...

Carne asada

Two hour marinade (fresh garlic, squeezed OJ, lil soy, lil Worcestershire, paprika, ancho chili, cumin, Mexican oregano, lime, pepper) and thrown on the grill. Hardly the fresh tortillas I get in MX, but these are actually tasty for admittedly super processed but zero net carb tortillas. Used two different hot sauces bought from two separate restaurants in MX (La Docena and this little spot near Colonial Americana).

Geronimo judges

The pay counter at my local Mexican restaurant had me uncontrollably laughing as Geronimo glared at me handing my 21.99 to the cashier.

The bar is truly in **** at Abbie's birthday party...

16h ago

Abbie's birthday party after the cruise was in a Mexican restaurant, likely the same one they took her to for her 19th birthday party. So I guess that's the Designated Birthday Location now. The vlog itself was boring but I was sitting there WAITING for Abbie to receive *any other gift* at her party besides that stack of paper bags that she was pictured with on Insta. But now that I have finished the vlog...she didn't get a ****** thing except for the bags. Not just those bags but even Summer and Kylie gave her a bag full of paper bags. Her *only birthday gifts* (or at least the only one shown) were multiple stacks of paper bags. Bags from everyone. Bags she can just *get* on ...

Baked Chicken Taquitos Recipe

17h ago

Transform simple ingredients into crispy, flavorful taquitos that deliver all the satisfaction of restaurant-quality Mexican food right from your own oven. This recipe proves that baked doesn't mean boring – these taquitos emerge golden, crispy, and packed with flavor, providing a healthier alternative to deep-fried versions without sacrificing any of the crunch or taste you crave. https://preview.redd.it/e6jtvbivd79f1.jpg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b5bfb6eb234bcc6d5b8b40f88ed4fe030e7195c8 The magic happens in the filling, where tender chicken combines with zucchini to create a mixture that's both flavorful and nutritious. The zucchini adds moist...

https://voca.ro/1dHJa50yHZNt Hey im Zambi and I’m working too much and need someone to talk to through the day, I’m not expecting anything outside of friends but I’m also not opposed to something if we vibe. I left a recording of me rambling of what I was going to write on here. Take a listen if you don’t want to read but it’s also a summary 🤷🏽‍♂️ So I’m a 6’ 35 year old Mexican dude living in Florida, I work in IT and getting a degree in Cyber Security. I enjoy the work and it’s good money, but it’s an ends to a means. I want to own a restaurant and I also want to build an international fertilizer/compost business. Ask me more about that if you’re intereste...

When the kids’ menu has ambition but no QA department

19h ago

This is the “Mousecake” from a Mexican restaurant kids’ menu: hotcakes with butter and ham. I respect the vision. A cute pancake mouse? Great idea. But the execution looks like the mouse just got laid off, audited, and asked to smile for the menu photo. No ****. Honestly, this is art. Just not the art they intended.

WYR chips and salsa or bread and butter

22h ago

For the rest of your life, you can only have chips and salsa or bread and butter as your appetizer at a restaurant. 1) if you pick bread and butter, that’s what you get at any restaurant. So if you went to a Mexican restaurant they will still give you bread and butter. If you picked chips and salsa, then even at a steak house you would get chips and salsa. 2. always high quality. Fresh baked bread and high quality butter. Butter could be whipped or honey butter or whatever kind of butter you desire. Fresh tortillas handmade and fried fresh. Salsa can be whatever kind you want like a pico or like a blended salsa. Spice level is whatever you want as well. [View Poll](https://w...

BEAWARE of Hugo’s Mexican Restaurant

22h ago

I have celiac, I went to Hugo’s Mexican Restaurant in Richmond BC yesterday at 2pm. They had good reviews for gluten free options, I was at that outlet mall so alternate options were sparse. I asked the lady at the counter about their gluten free protein options for the gluten free burrito bowl which she said was safe. To which she violently rolled her eyes at me muttered something under breath and left for a second. She returned and rolled her eyes again and said plain tofu is the only safe option. I said no thanks and turned to walk out. She then asked me to wait a moment and went and asked someone else that appeared to be the manager. She returned and told me all the proteins are gluten...
