Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Macys Latest Community Discussions About Macy'sManager rostering me on shifts without asking3h agoMy manager is driving me nuts right now. For context, i work in a department store in New Zealand and we have recently changed to having 1 manger and 1 supervisor per floor which roughly translates to about 6 departments worth of staff (around 300 staff in total in the whole store). we have our set rostered days per week, so my usual days are a Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. She’s started recently just rostering all of us in my area on without asking or checking times etc and then gets so ****** off when we say we can’t work that day?? I understand it’s a busy time of year for her, but it’s also busy for us. I’m happy to work an extra couple hours if she asks but that goes out the w... Retired team member.4h agoI recently retired from Meijer after 14 years. I worked in several departments at my store during that time. Even though it wasn't all bad I have to say as a whole it was not a fun place to work. The pay was low, I had to deal with a lot of scumbag vendors, difficult team members and weak incompetent management that did not support me. I tried to be a good employee, but I don't think Meijer really cares about their employees like they want you to believe. Overall, I would say my time there was pretty miserable. Anybody else feel the same way? Finally ditched my beat-up backpack for an actual bag and feel more put together4h agoI've been using the same Jansport backpack since college. Literally ten years of daily wear. It's been everywhere with me, survived multiple moves, countless commutes, and honestly looked like it belonged in a dumpster at this point. Straps were fraying, zippers barely worked, but I kept telling myself “it still functions” so why replace it. Then I started a new job last month where everyone else shows up with leather messenger bags, sleek briefcases, or at least backpacks that don't look like they survived a natural disaster. Made me realize maybe it was time to upgrade my daily carry situation. The problem is I had no idea what kind of bag actually made sense for a guy... Some days, I just feel like crying.4h agoLast night I had to stock departments 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 71, and 74 (it was a small truck, no big deal). I do department 74 last, and one of my boxes has two industrial totes in it (40 gallon totes, I think). Not only will they not go out, but I find two unboxed totes of the same variety plugged in the spot next to them (where something else that is a different price goes). I realized that I had no room in the backroom steel for any of these, so I put both boxes with two overstock mini refrigerators on the same pallet. I took the pallet to the backroom, made a tag for the top steel, wrapped it with plastic, put the tag on, and left it to be put up. Tonight I come in for a significant... How do I go about dealing with my family after all of this?4h agoHi Reddit, this is my first post so I am sorry if I make mistakes or am missing anything. I am also typing in a hurry because I am looking for guidance asap. TW: alcoholism, bodily fluids, SA I (25 F) have a dad, brother, and grandma. My mom passed away when I was a teenager. Since I was little, my dad has been an alcoholic. He would go on episodes that spanned anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months. He would drink everyday during this time, like a bottle to two or more, sometimes of vodka or whiskey. If he would run out, he would drink things like Listerine or Isropyl. He would go to the bathroom in his bed, he would throw up there too. He would break glasses and step on them. As a teenager an... My Mongolian Aarul collection i brought back to UK (this was april this year)4h agoThe one in the brown bag at the back and the chunky one in clingfilm I got it from UB state department store. The rest I got from Orgil Advice on a coworker and a hostile work environment5h agoHi guys. I don’t exactly know how to do this but I’m going to try my best to explain everything in a good way. People in this story are D (me, F18), K (my boyfriend and coworker, M18), T (coworker who became close friend, M26), A (the main coworker in this, F29), and manager (M20). This all kinda started when I started working at this place a few months ago. I’m one of two women that work in this department of the store and A has a tendency to make consistent comments about me being “weak” and has consistently told me to go to the gym to gain muscle, stop eating so much because I’m going to get fat (I’m trying to gain weight because of a severe ED), and has says I need to stop ... Someone's excited for Christmas...5h agoGigil ako sa tour "organizer" namin sa Japan5h agoI’m still really disappointed because this tour organizer ruined my first Japan trip. Our school department had an educational architectour to Tokyo that cost around ₱70,000 per student. This was my first time in Japan, something I was genuinely excited about because Japan is my dream destination since I was a kid. Unfortunately, the tour organizer of our school really fell short. Even some of our professors were openly complaining, so this wasn’t just students being overly critical. Here’s why the experience was disappointing: 1. First of all, the itinerary situation was a mess. The tour organizer submitted the initial itinerary around August. Then they only sent the final itiner... BTech Food Technology and the Best Path After Class 125h agoIf you like science but don’t want a typical engineering path, Food Technology can be a practical choice. Over the last few years, many people have started asking about BTech Food Technology, how it works, what the syllabus looks like, and what career opportunities it offers. Since a lot of students are unsure about whether they should choose this course after Class 12, here is a clear and simple guide that answers the most common questions. # What is BTech Food Technology? [BTech Food Technology](https://noida.amity.edu/ug/food-technology/btech-food-technology) is an engineering program that focuses on the science behind food. It covers how food is processed, preserved, packaged, stored... On this day in 2024, this last Sears in Washington State shut down for good, followed by the signs being removed this Fe...6h agoLocated in the Southcenter Mall, today marks exactly a year since this very last Sears and Roebuck department store in the state of Washington closed its doors. 100 years back in 1925, just months after the 1st store opened in Chicago (closed 1984), the first Sears department store on the West Coast opened in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, at 1st and Lander in Seattle, the first ever opened location in Washington State that had a grand opening on May 4th of that year. After an 89 year run that retail store location in what is now the Starbucks HQ (originally built as a Sears Roebuck and Co mail order building) closed down on June 1st of 2014. As for this anchor, it was ... To anyone who works at self scanning machines - how often do you notice people stealing and don’t do anything about it...6h ago[BW_Bird comments on To anyone who works at self scanning machines - how often do you notice people stealing and don’t do anything about it?](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/1pnisxm/to_anyone_who_works_at_self_scanning_machines_how/nu98ayo/) [–]BW_Bird 178 points 4 hours ago I worked for Target as a software engineer for five years. I never spent any time in the asset protection side of the forensics department (which is ABSURDLY big) but I've seen a number of presentations and info emails about what they do over there. Yes, they do keep tabs on people to charge them with felonies. They use AI tech to spot people who are acting shady. The self checkout scales flag w... Smoll rant ..7h agoBasically, my manager at my department (license in grocery) went out on emergency medical leave and I was her 2nd so I stepped in as department manager. Now obviously I work in a grocery store so there’s the store director and then his boss & our OPS (who is also the OPS for deli.. and he knows nothing about Starbucks bc this store/ Starbucks did cuts and fired all our DMs for actual Starbucks & he was placed in the position to overlook Starbucks) - basically I think they’re just picking on me bc I’m “new”. With me as manager now the kiosk works more efficiently, our customer scores are 100%, and we’re the busiest grocery Starbucks in our area. Especially now that... New MK challenge idea7h agoI’ve been thinking about this for a while. I wanted to hear what my fellow reagents thought of this MK challenge idea for the shopping mall. First of all so you know that section that’s near the department store where there’s an area that would lead to a food court. It says like food market or something like that. That area should be expanded similar to beguile the children where it’s a whole new section of the shopping mall. Here’s how the trial would work. You go into a giant food court area with lots of restaurants and kiosks and stuff. You would all be given the portable black light device from despoil the auction. In the very center of the food court, there would be a victim h... What to get a man for secret santa????8h agoI work in a retail pharmacy and the store as a whole(each department) is doing secret santa. I got a guy who works in the bakery dept. As you can imagine, there isn't much overlap between pharmaceuticals and baked goods. So I've never spoken to the man and neither has anyone else who works in the pharmacy. Our Secret Santa has a $50 limit and people are relatively thoughtful with it, like a gift card is seen as low effort and lame. I was told that this guy has had it rough lately, his wife died, he was in the hospital for a minute, and some other stuff. But that's all of the information I got, no one seems to know what this guy likes. I want to get him something that he would ... For anyone who didn’t get into Michigan today (from a UofM student)8h agoIt may not have been the decision you wanted, but I will give you a couple reasons why you shouldn’t be too upset. 1) it is cold as **** up here. I thought coming from NJ I’d be able to handle, even enjoy the cold, but it gets frosty in November and you don’t really see good weather again until April, by the time the school year is over. The windchills are nightmarish and the snow just becomes ugly gray blobs on the street that don’t go away. 2) the administration *****. between recent news from athletics and our recently departed president, there just always seems to be something going on. 3) construction. since I got here last year, there is always something under construction. ... Help identifying this doll9h agoHi everyone — I’m hoping for some help identifying this vintage baby doll. Details I can observe: • Eyes open when upright and close when laid down (sleep eyes) • Head feels rigid (not soft vinyl); limbs are also rigid • Painted molded hair (no wig) • Small open “O” mouth • No visible maker’s mark on the head • Clothing appears old and is sewn shut, so I haven’t checked the torso for markings yet • Appears to be older than mid-20th century, but I’m not certain • Cradle shown in photos is likely a later addition and not original to the doll I’m mainly curious about: • Approximate age/era • Material (composition vs early plastic, etc.) • Possi... Okinawa with a 2 yo in end Jan9h agoHi everyone! We will be in Okinawa 19-28Jan with our 2yo (nap time around 2-5pm, not sure if she will sleep in the car so we haven’t planned much in afternoons. She’s more than happy to skip a nap if she’s having fun) and will be renting a car to travel around. Planning for 4 nights in Motobu and 5 nights in Chatan.
