We got a new ETL about a month ago and everyone here despises him. I’m always in the DU department and my TL would vouch for me being one of the top DU team members at our store. How did I go from max hours and only working in DU to getting all check lane shifts and 1/3 of my hours cut? How should I approach my new ETL? I (25M) have a Cyber Security Engineering degree from a popular university, I graduated in May of 2024. After almost a year of unemployment and thousands of job applications, I gave up trying to find a related job. Now I fix/build bicycles for $15 an hour in a department store. What is my next move? I am thinking about some sort of an apprenticeship program, but no idea where to start or what program to pursue. As a part of my university degree, I have surface level knowledge of electrical engineering, and I know 2 programming languages. I would appreciate any ideas or advice.

Hi everyone, I have a situation I need help with. I am a shift lead in the pickup department at my store. I have worked for Kroger for around 15 months. I was just told the other day that I am being demoted due to not working enough average hours to meet full-time for the year, which I did call off a lot due to medical-related reasonings with doctors’ notes to provide for at least half of them. I think it's impressive how big of a heel turn the housing department at this university has managed to do in such a short time. A year ago, you would have been able to secure a dorm for a full semester for around 4k. Title, I live in LA county, and want a bike for commuting and around here there doesn't seem to be much stores that sell name brand stuff like specialized, trek, surly, etc. A lot of it seems to be department store or odd name brands with no name components. I'm looking for a bike that's reliable and can essentially be my car replacement. The closest place that sells higher end stuff is REI, they have some trek, specialized, Salsa and their own bike line up. How are the REI co-op bikes? They seem relatively affordable at 1000 and under.

So I am suddenly getting less hours than one of the associates in the Department. Also I never worked a particular day of the week because on-boarding we all agreed i can have this particular day off, now suddenly im getting scheduled on this day. Subsequently even less hours now because I will be extremely late or may have to call in. Do I have any options or alternatives with this complaint as a assistant manager to a department in Harris Teeter. And my hours has been reduced to 32 while the full timer associate gets 40 hours.
