Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Macys Latest Community Discussions About Macy'sI have a predatory employer, what should I do?2h agoPredatory employer Hello all, Wanted to vent my situation to a bunch of strangers for guidance. I make a decent amount of money right doing a multi store leader with a tech company. Been here for 10 years and I used to love my job But my leader is an alcoholic that goes on benders constantly and brings me into it. Being aggressive and knit picking my every single move when he's mad. I do a lot more in this company than I should and don't get paid for the extra. I did it for a long time because I loved the company. Now I **** my job and I feel they are going to come after my job. I've put over 30 apps in but I haven't had to look for a job for 10 years..I'm ... The complete lack of training newer employees are getting is really bothering me - anyone else?2h agoToday’s Example: Opening liquor store this morning. There was a gap in coverage for awhile so I got a sup-in-training (employee of a year or so) to be my second person. He isn’t liquor sales certified so he can’t cashier in the liquor store, and thus, I can’t leave the till to handle my stocking. Whatever. So I tell him to go block down. Instead of properly blocking down, he just grabbed every empty box he found and pulled stuff forward. He didn’t actually consolidate any boxes/pallets down & therefore was barely effective at the task. Left multiple half-empty boxes on every pallet. Call me crazy, but maybe we should make sure people can fulfill bare minimum FE assistant ... Self-promotion Thread2h agoUse this thread to promote yourself and/or your work! (Descriptions of fictional crimes investigated by the story's main Character Max.) Detective's Fate It's august of 2008..... Max is a detective living in Chicago He checks his pistol and puts on his police badge as he walks out his front door. He has been searching for a serial killer known as the Caller for years and always been one step behind due to the red tape..... More importantly the chief's lazy attitude towards getting search warrants and actions approved by the courts for raids. Twice Max had good intel on the suspect's locations and photo evidence showing him at the sites. The department needs mo... Trial by Misfortune: How Sorrow Gives Rise to Faith3h ago[Yuri Kugach. For the summer my parents would send me from Voronezh to my grandmother’s house in the countryside of Kursk region. There, I would immediately help with household chores; I learned how to take cows to pasture in the morning and get them in the evening, water calves, and hoe potatoes. Every walk with my grandmother to the village store for bread was an adventure. At that time, there was still no asphalt in the village, and after the rain, mud st... Just stood my ground for the first time3h agoHey guys, I’m a process lead at my store and I’m very well versed in all things pet-care. I have worked as a veterinary technician and in veterinary ERs in the past, not to mention I do ALOT of research outside of work to ensure I’m giving correct information and advice. I’ve also got several animals including reptiles cats and dogs as-well as 4 large fish tanks with a plethora of different species of fish. That being said I can confidently say that I know wtf I’m talking about when it’s about our pet care department. Seeing as how I’m the petcare manager and I am extremely respectful with everything I do, I am not afraid to turn a customer around when they request the impossib... The Critical Thinker Whose Ideas Still Run the World3h agoW. Edwards Deming grew up in rural Wyoming, went on to study electrical engineering at the University of Wyoming, and later earned advanced degrees in mathematics and mathematical physics from the University of Colorado and Yale. He worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and then the U.S. Census Bureau, applying statistics to practical problems in measurement and quality. He also taught at several universities, including New York University. If you look at his life at all, he was one of our most influential critical thinkers, and he saw absolutely little traction in the United States. After World War II, Japan was a country of ruins and ration cards, trying to rebuild an industrial ... [IL] Experiencing racial harassment and lack of support from management. What should I do before quitting?3h agoHi, I’m looking for legal guidance on what steps—if any—I should take before quitting my job. Location: Illinois I work full time at Aldi as an associate. Since starting this job in September 2024, I’ve experienced racist comments from customers. Which have only increased significantly after the election and now occur weekly, and even multiple times a day. This mainly occurs because I was solely on the register, thus more frequent customer interaction. I’m a first-generation Mexican American. Spanish is my first language, but my English is way better—I’ll get into that later. In July 2025, I reported the racism I was experiencing to my store manager. Her response included s... Questions for an anxious girlie waiting (patiently) on package3h agoI don’t mean to complain or sound impatient; I genuinely just **c**annot miss this delivery. Backstory: I’ve had a bad experience with UPS once before where they marked *three* “attempted deliveries” even though I was home each time. I took the L back then, but it’s why I’m extra anxious now. context: Original delivery date: 12/27 (totally understood the holiday delay) This morning, the most recent scan shows 6:38 AM “Processing at local facility” which is a rescan because it showed that last night. I also signed up for UPS My Choice Premium the same day I found out UPS was the shipper, just in case that matters or gives me any additional visibility or options. I know ... [Hotel areas advice] Safe, quiet, near-station neighborhoods for Tokyo / Kawaguchiko / Kyoto / Kanazawa/ Osaka4h agoHi all! I’m planning \~14 days in Japan with my partner. We’ll arrive/depart **Tokyo**, visit **Kawaguchiko (Fuji)**, **Kyoto**, **Kanazawa**, and do **Osaka as a day trip** (unless you convince me otherwise). **What I’m looking for (hotel area advice):** * **Safe, quiet neighborhoods** (not heavy nightlife or drunk crowds) * **Walk ≤10 minutes to JR/metro** (we’ll use public transport only) * **Private room + private bathroom** (business-hotel level is perfect) * **Budget:** ideally ≤ **¥20,000/night** * Bonus: easy for luggage, convenience stores nearby **About us / preferences** * Interests: Japanese culture, anime, nature, pretty streets & gardens; unique temple... Macy’s department store detectives posing for a picture with their backs turned so as not to reveal their identity.4h agoWas I in the wrong for this?4h agoSo I’m a cake decorator at a grocery store chain and I’m the only cake decorator my store has. Literally just me. No one else. The department managers can barely do basic decorating, so I can’t turn to them for help if I get stuck or if I have a bunch of orders. The one department manager got on me this morning because the cupcake display is almost empty and I told him it’s hard to do all these orders and keep up with the display. I was off yesterday, so nothing got done. Anyways, to the main point of the post. A customer asked if it was possible if she could place an order for 3 dozen cupcakes for pickup tomorrow. I told her I’m sorry, but it’s really short notice because I ha... Neve...4h agoWe all know the Foundation handles world-ending horrors, but no one talks about who has to fix the WiFi in the containment chambers. I’ve been developing **"I.T. Never Ends,"** a corporate survival game where you’re an IT tech in a megacorp that makes Site-19 look like a daycare. I'd like you to play it. It's free. The HR department is a hive mind, the printer is predicting the future, and "Have you tried a ritual sacrifice and restart?" is a standard SOP. **Some current tickets in the queue:** * *"The new hire in Accounting doesn't cast a shadow. What do I have here?4h agoTrying to figure out what version/edition of the Chambers of secrets book I have. It is missing the “Year 2” on the spine. The lettering on the front cover isn’t raised. It is also substantially smaller than the first American edition from June of 1999. STUB SHOTS // DECEMBER 27, 2025 — A Pound That Isn’t —4h ago*What a Grocery Scale Keeps Showing Me* *December 26, 2025 — 11:02 AM ET* This isn’t a rant. It’s a record. For the past nine months, I’ve been weighing one-pound packages of ground beef purchased at my local Walmart in Naples, Florida — the store at U.S. 41 and Immokalee. Not once. Not twice. Over and over. Same routine: buy it, go home, zero the scale, weigh the sealed package. And over and over, the number comes up the same: Short. About an ounce short on a product labeled **one pound**. Every time. I have video. I have photos. I have receipts. Dates. Packages. A pattern. At some point, you stop calling that coincidence. *“When the same ‘mistake... A Mystery Pen5h agoReally tye last restoration of the year. I picked up this lovely lever filler in a brown/black marble pattern. it's marked "Lewis's Standex British Made" on the barrel and has a 14Ct Warrented nib with a heart-shaped breather hole. It looks to me like a pen made for a department store and then branded for a company. A Writing Equipment Society post suggests that Lang (Summit) made pens for a Liverpool department store called Lewis's, so this might suggest it's origin. The nib looks right for this as well. On the other hand the seller thought it's a Burnham. I've seen a similar pen on Ebay with a Burnham nib and they did make pens for stores. It'... Zob's Thoughts on LEGO Soundwave 103585h agoThe wife tells me she's been sitting on this since August, but she was saving it as a Christmas gift. Unlike the other Transformers-branded sets, I never saw Soundwave at retail at any point. She had to order it from the online LEGO store. This is the third official Transformers set, the others being Optimus Prime from 2022 and Bumblebee from 2024. It's the first Decepticon, the first Transformers set to transform into something other than a vehicle, and the first one with an electronic sound gimmick. The building set consists of 1505 pieces, is recommended for ages 18 and up (it's a challenging build), and consists of three distinct models: Soundwave, Laserbeak, and Rava... Remember Fran Felstein and her furs from Bamberger’s? This Newark building is where the department store was founded i...5h agoMy NEW and IMPROVED last minute 14 day itinerary5h agoI took all of yalls recommendations and revised my itinerary, I'm feeling a LOT better about it now. I've gotten all of my hotels and stuff booked! Let me know if there's anything insane on this that needs to be cut, or is totally unfeasible. A lot of the stuff listed under specific days are things that would be cool to see, but we're not necessarily trying to hit every single one. Usually the first 2-3 things per day are the things we're like definitely going to do. ALSO! If you have any recommendations for fun or crazy experiences, we'd love to hear them! We're going to try and see Geisha in Kyoto, and we've got a sumo dinner planned, as well as a f... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
