Parts 1 and 2 (2/7).3h ago  [Part 1/7](https://www.reddit.com/r/DanMachi/s/dvXeMWhJuB)   ~MASTER AND PUPIL   Then, the next day. The sky overhead was still draped in darkness. It was that ambiguous time between night and morning, when dawn had yet to break across the eastern horizon. Having woken up much earlier than he ever normally would, Bell arrived at an open, vacant lot. Calling it a vacant lot wasn't entirely accurate; it was more of an open-air storage area, a space enclosed by wooden buildings. Located in the inner courtyard of The Benevolent Mistress, this area had apparently been intended for another building, so it was quite spacious. C... Self-promotion Thread3h agoUse this thread to promote yourself and/or your work! (Descriptions of fictional crimes investigated by the story's main Character Max.) Detective's Fate It's august of 2008..... Max is a detective living in Chicago He checks his pistol and puts on his police badge as he walks out his front door. He has been searching for a serial killer known as the Caller for years and always been one step behind due to the red tape..... More importantly the chief's lazy attitude towards getting search warrants and actions approved by the courts for raids. Twice Max had good intel on the suspect's locations and photo evidence showing him at the sites. The department needs mo... Recently I received an email from my district manager about our stores price mismatches being 4.50% this is real high and bad the overall store percentage should be 2% or below. I have created a challenge and deadline for myself. I need to get that high % closer to 2% by May 31st. A second part of my pricing job is to complete daily price changes , the total number per day changes ranging for 90 to 1,000 ( when it is higher than 400 I can left 250+ rollover into the next day) doing this cause me to have more for the following day. I have been feeling overwhelmed, discouraged and anxious. I enjoy what I do and am the only pers... 2:30am hindi makatulog kasi yung apat na orders ko sana 2 days ago, pwede sana ginamitan ng 30% off voucher ngayon 😭...4h agoSame exact order yung Athlene 😭 halos 100 ang difference 😭😭😭 Japan with Kids: Tips for Trains, Hotels, Strollers, and Baby Rooms4h agoLike the title suggests, I’m sharing all tips I know about travelling to Japan with kids, for all parents planning to. Japan is becoming a popular destination for families, and especially parents with kids. And the reason for this is because there are so many things to explore in Japan that you wouldn’t find anywhere else. Also, there are several cities, such as Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, etc., (these are the most popular ones but trust me there are more) each with its own unique activities. If you're thinking of taking a family vacation this year, I highly recommend you add Japan to your list. It’ll be worth every moment. Here are a few things to keep in mind that'll m... On Frozen Configurations and the Depletion of the Penny Tray4h ago# On Frozen Configurations and the Depletion of the Penny Tray ## Why a Children's Toy from 1980 Stayed Open While Everything Else Locked, and What Happened to the 38 Cents --- > **Abstract:** > In 1980, a Hungarian professor's puzzle arrived in the West. In 1981, an American president fired 11,345 workers and froze the configuration of American labor relations for forty-five years. The Rubik's Cube remained open—anyone can make moves. Everything else locked. This paper traces the expansion of frozen configurations from labor (PATCO, 1981) to property (DMCA, 1998) to the human body (Second Sight retinal implants, 2020), introducing the Discretionary Displa... Put two characters in the same room (World's collide edition)4h agoMad About You connects Friends to Seinfeld, both shows ran for like a decade and shared lots of peak 90s talent. Who are two characters you'd like to see in a room together? George's dad and Rachel's ex Tommy would be an awesome public crashout if they got into it at a department store. Jerry's "wife" meeting Monica would be pretty boring. I'd like to see Gary Fogel and Steve the restaurateur go into business together. Actually Steve could be a Fogel. Too short; want more to read: Paul Buchman recognizes Jerry in Mad About You, and he subleased the apartment to Kramer. Which means the Jerry he ran into is the working comedian with a failed TV pilot, not t... [RF] Thomas Wolfe: The Finale Part 24h agoTom had stopped by the grocery store to pick up a few items they needed for their dinner. As he was shopping he noticed a lady frantically adding the cost of the items in her cart, then returning some items to the shelf. From the items she had it was obvious that she had children, but was short on money. She struck Tom as being a professional person that was having a hard time. Tom had a flashback of his grandmother talking about when after his grandfather had died, when his father was young and she was short of money, how a kind stranger stepped in and helped her buy groceries. She still remembered that decades later. Tom quickly came up with a plan. Tom approached her and said that h... Why are they in shops everywhere? Did I miss a change in basic hygiene rules?4h agoI think I must have missed something. I am sure it used to be that only guide dogs were allowed in shops. Today I went to a bakery, and half the queue had dogs with them, slobbering and thumping their tails against me and the counters, (they weren't guide dogs / service dogs). Food is prepared here, that's gross. I later went to a department store in the middle of the city, and there are dogs in there too, meandering around the clothes for sale. How is this happening? I don't want to buy clothes already covered in dog hair, neither do I want to walk through where their ****** and pissy tails have been wagged and ****-covered paws smeared. I don't want to buy a new pan or ... What should I do4h agoSo I've been working at a small Walmart for a little over a year and I've been stuck in thinking about switching to factory or should I stick it out and maybe things will get better. I am supposed to be a seasonal associate but I do a couple of departments for a little bit a day and all I see is no recognition for it and I'm only making 14 cents more than someone just starting out and I'm definitely making less than people that just know one department and about a month ago my team lead moved departments and I went and applied for the vacant team lead position thinking I was a perfect candidate because I know every department in the store and I have over 100 hours of PTO... They have failed me at every turn. They’ve had countless opportunities to intervene on my behalf as a child but instead they listened to and sided with my dad, William Kyle Riley who lives on Red Bud Rd in Ranger GA, every time. I guess it’s bc he’s a charmer, a gregarious smooth talker that throws that aww shucks country boy accent around and appears credible, since... What is people’s opinion on this book? (100 years of Anime)5h agoSaw this book at a store, it looked beautiful, but sometimes these coffee table books can be very hit or miss, especially in the writing department. Couldn’t find any reviews and it has only three ratings on Goodreads. It’s published by Simon and Schuster so usually that’s a good sign. Anyone here who owns it? https://www.simonandschuster.ca/books/100-Years-of-Anime/Matthieu-Pinon/9798337400556 Should I Be Concerned?5h agoPackage hasn’t been scanned since the 14th. Has an estimated delivery date of the 21st. Most of the time when I get a package sent UPS I get a scan at least every other day. This is a irreplaceable item so I’m kind of worried that it’s lost. Should I be concerned? Non-Traditional Credit: Qualifying for FHA Without a Credit Score6h agoNo credit score? No problem. At least not with FHA. One of the most overlooked features of FHA financing is that borrowers without a credit score can still qualify for maximum financing. While conventional loans typically require a minimum credit score of 620, FHA allows borrowers with no score at all to purchase a home with just 3.5% down. In fact, here's something that surprises many borrowers: **a borrower with no credit score can qualify for better terms than a borrower with a 500-579 credit score.** A no-score borrower can get 96.5% LTV (3.5% down), while a borrower in the 500-579 range is capped at 90% LTV (10% down). The catch? You'll need to document a "non-traditio... Lack of social exposure or a true indicator?7h agoMy almost 3.5 year old has been mostly indoors with us and with the nanny since about 1 year old. They play and read all day, and they have a great time. As a first time mom, I dealt with PPD and severe anxiety and irrational fears - so that stopped me from doing the social things that most families do. I can count on one hand the number of times we took my child to the park prior to this age, she was 1 year and 4 months the very first time we went. She absolutely ***** the swing and was scared of the slide, but could I blame her? Around this age we did a photoshoot at the beach (first time for her at the beach) and she ***** the touch of sand on her feet. She cried hysterically the whole ... I edited Citizen Kane into chronological order.7h agoThis was mostly an experiment out of curiosity and as a editorial challenge. It definitely does not improve the movie. If anything it shows why the original works so well. I know the movie is 80.years old but spoilers ahead. One of Citizen Kane’s greatest strengths is its non-linear storytelling and its use of expressive transitions. Reordering everything chronologically flattens a lot of that. The structure becomes much more conventional, and many transitions (cross dissolves, optical dissolves, etc.) had to be removed to avoid awkward partial cuts. Those transitions are a big part of what makes it great A few other notes from the process- **Chronological Kane is much easier to follow... Print complaints.7h agoWhile I don't work this department, does anyone else's store get a ton of complaints about print from customers? "Oh the print department *****" "Nobody helped me in self serve" "My print item wasn't ready yet" "Please tell a manager that the print employee today wasn't of any help and didn't do what I asked" Like...I get why they say this stuff. The print department has their own set of guidelines w/ helping customers. So I assume by proxy, customers just think that department is less helpful than say the cashiers who also usually have to double as customer support. Should they complain? No, not at all. It's ... Feeling hopeless after experiences were invalidated by psychiatrist7h agoUPDATE: I looked at reviews of this psychiatrist and they are TERRIBLE. There are several detailing near-identical experiences to mine. Avoid Dr. Justin Zeppieri at all costs. Hi all, first time poster looking for some reassurance or insight on how to proceed. I have two older siblings, one was diagnosed ADHD in the early 1990s. I (29f, Ontario CAN) reached out to my PCP regarding an assessment for ADHD after decades of assuming I also have it and waiting to “grow out of it” like my mother assured me I would. Well, I’m approaching 30 years old and I still struggle with organization, executive function, time blindness, and focus. I have had the same job for 8 years and I still am almo... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
