The search began on august and it's still ongoing, i submitted my cv in 100s different places, at some point i began tailoring my cvs based on the shops m trying to join. Nothing, not a single call from recruiters. And m not even under qualified, i worked at supermarkets, quincaillerie, gas stations, clothes stores... So i have quite the experience. So i really don't understand whether i am the problem, or the market is over saturated. Was in Tokyo a few weeks ago, steak capital of the world if you ask me. Just a corner grocery store stacked with reason...3m agoBeyond devastated4m agoI have a stray cat that eventually stayed in our home after feeding it a few times. He was a very active one and would "Meow" at the front door every time he's hungry. He's been staying with us for a year and a half now. Just three days ago, I noticed that he didn't do his usual routine, so I checked up on him and he seems weak. I thought he was sleepy, so I gave it no thought and still put food on his own bowl. After a few hours, I checked the bowl and no food has been eaten, with my cat nowhere to be found. It has been three days and he still hasn't returned. I have searched around Reddit and just recently discovered that a habit of cats is to hide themselv... Need wine recommendations5m agoHi everyone! First time posting. I have been struggling to find a dry wine that I like, one that can easily be found at grocery stores such as Vons, Stater Bros, Ralphs, etc. I am looking for a dry wine. I typically like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, but yesterday I bought a Sauvignon Blanc that was clearance, and boy was that a mistake 😂 I **** when they are super sugary and taste like juice. Makes my stomach hurt. Any suggestions? I’m an indie designer–dev and I just launched **Sheepo Desktop** this month, a tiny macOS app that lives on your screen as a flock of sheep and helps you balance **focus** ***and*** **rest**. **It was just updated to v1.1** with a smarter break reminder (... It’s okay to drive it….6m agoThis elderly gentleman continued to drive his faded orange ‘68 Shelby Mustang from his tiny house to the store and post office each day when I took this photo few years ago ——- he was literally using a Shelby to pick up go pick up a loaf of bread, the way many Americans now need a 5500 pound truck to do the same. You see, it’s okay to drive your clsssic car - you don’t have to just stare at it (although I understand why you would - God help us with the ugly cars out there over the past 45 years); and you don’t have to phone Nr. Hagerty or Mr. Marti each day, asking if your car is worth another $10 - just get out and drive the f-ing thing. As an epilogue to this, this gentleman ... AITA for avoiding my friends and not saying anything because they made me third wheel?6m agoI am going to simplify my response and theirs to highlight the important parts only. This was regarding third wheeling. Borderline making out in a public restaurant while I’m trying to eat my food. But I didn’t even mention that. Also note that they kept saying “sorry if you feel like you’re third wheeling” repeatedly during the plans and I dodged it every time to avoid conflict. I entirely kept my distance from them when we went shopping. When my other friend was there for a short time, I clung to her. At the house, I was on my phone or watching TV on the same couch with them while they were constantly flirting. I couldn’t leave because we took their car and I was three hours ... How to Book International Tours Safely?7m agoPlanning an international trip always starts with excitement. You picture yourself in a new country, wandering through streets you’ve never seen, tasting food you can’t pronounce, and taking photos your friends will probably get jealous of. But once you start looking for packages online, the excitement quickly turns into confusion: *Is this safe? Is this legit? Should I trust this price?* Don’t worry—you’re not alone. Almost every traveller goes through the same phase. The good thing is, booking safely isn’t complicated once you know what to look for. Here’s a very real, people-first guide that’ll help you avoid mistakes and book your trip with confidence. Brands like **Move... Unreported Low-Level Cyanide Poisoning is Causing Intellectual Disabilities in Large Portion of African Population?9m agoSeriously, are African populations being poisoned by their food?!? I was watching some short-form videos and noticed that some African immigrants to the US were making a dish from fresh cassava/manioc root (the plant that tapioca comes from) and didn't do anything more than briefly rinse it before they cooked it (https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQEh59RCjGK/?igsh=OTlrNTl6bHl5MDNo). This threw up BIG red flags because I recalled several instances in South America where natives explained to me the importance of processing the root (grinding, soaking, fermenting, drying, etc.) or you would run the risk of cyanide poisoning. This sent me down the rabbit hole and I found a study indicating e... My grandmother in law makes my blood boil but she has dementia…9m agoThis sounds really bad but I really need advice. SORRY THIS POST IS LONG. Me (f 22)and my fiancé (m30)rented a house recently and told his grandmother in law ( call her A) to come stay with us because his family couldn’t put her in a home plus she was getting kicked out of her house. She also has either stage one or stage 2 dementia. Whatever stage she’s in it’s the one where she’s just getting ****** off at everything and everyone. Few examples I have a 1 and 2 year old, they are loud normal toddlers doing what toddlers do play, run, crying tantrums. Well she doesn’t like all the noise and for some reason instead of going to her room which is on the other side of the house she st... valentines day/bday/anniversary wknd recs9m agomy boyfriend and i (both 21+) are visiting nyc from chicago mid february for a whole bunch of celebrations that all fall around the same time and im hoping you guys can help us out with some planning. i have been before to do most of the touristy things but it’s his first time. we already have tickets to tour the statue of liberty and we’re seeing a show on broadway on valentines day, other than that we are open to anything. we love anything artsy, would love some cool thrift/vintage store places to check out, best bagel and coffee spots, cool nightlife for people who don’t really actually like going out that much or drinking lmao?? I can't believe how entitled some people are when it comes to other people's weddings11m agoWe aren't going to change our wedding. I'm not looking for advice. I'm just venting. We are going to have a 10-15 minute ceremony at sunset. Afterwards we'll have dinner and a reception. The two of us plan to take most of our photos before the ceremony. Only a few with our families will be needed after the ceremony. Additionally, all guests must be above the drinking age, so no one under the age of 18 is allowed inside. This is the policy of the venue, not ours. I would like to think we are being reasonable to our guests. The ceremony and reception will be four to four and half hours long. If any guests want to leave earlier it's not a problem. We'll be provi... Costco Pharmacist11m agoSeeing some postings in my area (Midwest) for Costco staff pharmacist and pharmacy manager. Is the grass really greener? Curious about staffing/hours, bonuses, raises, if central fill exists, is there high turnover? What is the corporate culture and is there a big focus on safety? Any other big perks like stock, free membership, discount? What is the vacation time like, what about paid holidays / holiday weeks? Do you tend to find yourself working more than your base hours? I read some past posts about 45 hour base so that would equate to $79-80/hr in my state (see rate chart attached with min and max salary range). Currently I’m a manager at a grocery store, $75/hr (market value in my ar... Ex-friend cut from group.11m agoSo, this story will be needing a LOT of context. To summarize, there was a person in my friend group that has been doing a lot of lying, loves to blame everyone but herself for literally everything, and is completely inconsiderate of others. This lead my bf (essentially the group leader), a majority of the group, and myself to decide to remove her from the friend group. It all sounds like it should be an easy one-and-done type of thing, right? If we all agree, and 2 people just don't really care either way, surely there should be no further issues... Her boyfriend is also in the group. And is evidently quite foolish, because he was literally warned of what happened with her last 2 rela... 16 month old still won’t eat anything11m agoDoes anyone have experience with a toddler that refuses to swallow solid food? Some background info: I started my son on purées when he was almost 6 months old. He took to them very well and seemed to really love them. I spoon fed him and he would use a self feeder spoon as well. Around 8 months, he stopped taking them completely. Refused us spoon feeding him and he wouldn’t touch it. We tried other safe foods around this time with different textures and he refused everything. Around 10 months, he finally started picking up solids (mostly the gerber baby snacks like the puffs and crunchies). He would put them in his mouth, but he would spit them out instead of swallowing. And this is ho... Thankful for blind-buys11m agoI’m not going to try to give my own reviews on the community scents I got, but this experience has reminded me to take reviews and even in-store sampling with a grain of salt. I never know if a difference in opinion is due to different tastes, different batches, or different regions. I read so many less-than-stellar reviews on the new scents that I was worried about my large in-app purchase. Before it got to me (tariffs/US), they hit the stores, so I couldn’t resist sniffing them all. I was really disappointed in them, and worried that I had wasted my money, but they got here today, and I have to say, I love them! I got two sprays and two perfumes, and I really like them all. I think th... WholeFoods Pink/Red Velvet Cake12m agoHello :) WholeFoods grocery store used to sell red velvet cupcakes or a small cake (maybe 4/5 servings). I think that the cake used to be called pink velvet because they didn't use artificial dyes so it wasn't as vibrant of a red as some cakes are. It had cream cheese frosting and like crunchy ball candy or something on it. These were my favourite cakes and I used to get either the cupcake throughout my university semester whenever I completed a final project and then my housemates and I would get the cake version when we finished a year. They don't sell it anymore and I was wondering if anyone that worked in the bakery department or anything else that would know the recipe ...
