Where do you guys get your gaming laptops/handhelds or PC parts?3h agoI was looking to upgrade my setup but a lot of the gaming laptops or pre built pcs in the general hardware stores are so expensive. Then I thought about getting a handheld like the ROG Ally or MSI AI8 Plus but I’m not sure where to get em from. Anybody have a place or an area where the best deals are? Ranked quality has dropped really hard3h agoLast season I was barely gold 4. Now Im somehow carried by good teams to a big winstreak, and was gold 1 for like 2 games. But more importantly, games a lot of the time feel like fewer dreams. Nobody has any clue of what they are doing, the most random fights break out for no reason. This Caitlyn forgot to change runes, and then for some reason decided to rush tiamat and then build heartsteel first instead of just going crit. Couple games ago I was fed as gwen but coulndt carry sincw Im bad. But we somehow won a teamfight and got back. Only then for our briar to jump in 1v5 for no reason. And then I inted to by trying to burst down somebody, and enemies ended. Like I swear games do... Would an IT management degree be ******?3h agoI realize that generally the answer would be yes, but let me give you some context. I have 3 years experience with no degree, currently an analytics engineer with a big focus on platform work. I have some pretty senior responsibilities for my YOE, just because I was the 2nd person on the data team, my boss had 30+ years experience, and just by nature of needing to figure out how to build a reporting platform that can support multiple SaaS applications for lots of clients along with actually building the reports, I had to learn fast and think through a lot of architecture stuff. I work with dbt, Snowflake, Fivetran, Power BI and Python. Now I’m looking for new jobs because I’m very unde... WIBTAH for not watching the Super Bowl at my boyfriend’s dad and step mom’s house?3h agoTonight is the Super Bowl, as most of you know, and I don’t care to watch it. Football has been huge thing in my family since I was a child. My dad was a “star” athlete growing up, and he insisted on coaching my brother for football from kindergarten through high school. He now does it for little leagues as well. Needless to say, but football has always been number one in my household, leading to lots of neglect for anything and everything else. It doesn’t interest me for a couple reasons. 1. I just don’t find it super entertaining, and yes I understand the rules. 2. I don’t like the emotional intensity surrounding good and bad plays. I find it hard to be nonjudgmental of p... So, last night, I was working on the big, audacious vibe coding project I've been puttering away on lately, and (without going into too much detail about the project itself, as it's not even close to ready to see the light of day) I've come upon a point where I really have to get balls-to-the-wall imaginative with it, and then try to marry those imaginative thoughts to a concrete, logical, razor-precise roadmap. My creative process with AI goes... My New Lookout Tower Had a Staffing Shortage. Now I Know Why. Part 23h agoI didn’t sit down after the call. Sitting felt like permission. Like telling my body it could stop pretending it was fine. I stayed on my feet in the middle of the cab, palms flat on the counter, breathing shallow so the bandages wouldn’t pull. My back had shifted from sharp pain to a steady burn. The kind that doesn’t spike and fade. It just stays. Every time I inhaled deep, it tugged like the skin was trying to separate under the gauze. I forced myself into procedure because procedure is the only thing that keeps you from doing something ****** when you’re alone. First-aid kit. Inventory. Confirm supplies. Confirm radio battery. Confirm the generator fuel gauge. Confirm the tow... I will never recover…3h ago**TW - mention su¡c¡de and some bad experiences..** **.** **.** **.** **.** **.** **.** I’ve been through a lot—things no child or teenager should ever have to experience. I didn’t grow up in an emotionally safe home, I was severely bullied at school, and my dad left early on because he didn’t want a daughter like me. I was exposed to violence from my grandparents multiple times, and I never really felt safe anywhere. I found food. Control in food. I had really good control for a long time. One of my closest friends did everything she could to help me, because she was that kind of person. Someone who had experienced the worst things imaginable, repeatedly over many years, ... Stuck in a call centre, trying to build a tiny call‑handling toolkit on the side3h agoHey everyone, For the last 5 years I’ve been working in an outsourced call centre. I’ve been trying to leave my employer for a while, but every job application seems to end the same way: a rejection with no real feedback beyond “we found a more suitable candidate”. At some point I started asking myself why my current employer is so successful. They always seem to have new clients coming in, even though the call quality and communication on both the client side and our side really isn’t great for what’s meant to be a premium service. Businesses are paying a lot just to get something that still feels pretty rough. That made something click for me. I decided to create a toolki... PTC Feedback w/footage: guard changes = good, need BE and damage changes to achieve full potential (long post)3h agoFirst of all, overall, the PTC is a positive step forward for the game. Collision changes feel great. The game feels better than ever when both people have a “simulate boxing” mindset. Malleable guard feels inconsistent. Some fighters can punch through my guard, others no. Many of those able to crack my guard hit harder overall without significant speed advantages (that I can see). I think the crushable guard is a great idea and kudos on the fast implementation. But it will contribute to balance problems over the long run without damage normalization. Body effort really needs mechanical improvement. I think until it can be perfected (if ever) it should serve as a complimentary system t... making my aribnb "*****-proof" - what I learned from experienced hosts and frequent guests3h agoHey all, I’m a soon-to-be first-time Airbnb host and, wanting to avoid as many headaches as possible, I recently posted here with my ideas on how to guide guests through the rental as smoothly as possible so they don’t need to text me often and remember the place as extremely nice and easy, leaving good reviews. The feedback and advice from experienced hosts was very valuable. I got a lot of different ideas on what to use in my apartment. What I learned is: 1. Some hosts think guests are “dumb.” 2. Some guests think hosts tend to be inconsiderate. 3. Rising prices might help filter out certain types of guests. 4. Some guests avoid QR codes because they fear malware. 5. Havin... 4 Weeks Later: Kim Seon-ho & Go Youn-jung in Can This Love Be Translated? [60-Second Review][SPOILERS]3h agoOn paper (and in all the tabloid hype), this drama looks amazing. A multilingual love story: a guy fluent in tons of languages whose heart stays closed off to every one of them, paired with a struggling actress clawing her way into the big leagues—and finally making it. The setup is gold. So… why does it start hitting the pavement just as it should be taking off? First off, I won't trash the pilot—it's great, sweet, charming. Let's leave it at that. But from episode 2 onward, things go downhill fast. I could've bought her trauma from "the fall" or whatever, but they sort that out super quick, so it's not even the issue. We start with this global jou... 29M - Straight / Gay / Bi - Makes no difference. Judgement Free. Long term connections.3h agoHey 👋 I’m 29, based in Brisbane (yep, the clock’s ticking toward 30 and I’m lowkey terrified about it). I’ve been thinking lately about how hard it is to find that real friendship. The kind where you just click. Where you can talk about anything, no judgement, no weirdness, just that easy comfort you only ever see in movies. I run my own business, and I spend a lot of time working or deep-diving into finance, tech, and random video game rabbit holes. Would be great to find someone who gets that balance of ambition and downtime. Ideally you’re semi-local so we can actually hang out, but I’m open to online if the connection feels right. I’m big on trust and honesty, and I... (Update-ish?) My (F21) BF (M 25) went dark a couple days ago, panicking a little3h agoFor prior context if it interests you, my last post pretty much explains it (and is still relevant lol) TLDR: military boyfriend, everything was normal for a year, talked everyday, he vanished a while ago. Isn’t the type to ghost. I feel sort of spam-y posting again because nothing has changed, this is more for myself at this point. The hardest part is he was so integrated into my daily life, right now I feel like I’m in an alternate universe where I never had a boyfriend at all and I’m trying to Doctor Who my way back lol. I **** how I have to continue doing daily things without him. It’s been close to 3 weeks, I did find an exercise that was happening that fit the timeline and ... Rate the cheating strat3h agoI have a big exam coming up. I got an HDMI splitter with an HDMI cord long enough to run outside the room connected to another monitor and I got one of those plug-in wireless keyboard/trackpad combos to plug in to have my brother control everything remotely from right outside the door. My real concern is do u think they will notice the two input devices? I was thinking I could get 2 identical keyboard/trackpad setups so it would just look like one keyboard and one trackpad... sorry if this is a lot but i would love ur opinion! (the keyboard is a Logitech K400 Plus in case you'd like to know what I'm talking about) **If you're Struggling with your online exams, class, assig... This is a repost (and update) of the Super bowl food list I posted to r/Ottawa earlier this week, which was removed because it contained a link to an external website not permitted by reddit (which website it was, I have no idea!) as such I've removed all the links and am reposting the list here. Sorry for the delay in doing so; hope you can all find a good deal that you may enjoy Au Beaujolais (Gatineau) - ticketed event * $25 ticket gives you 1 draft beer, 6 chicken wings, and chance to win prizes including $1,000 Bar Burrito (all location; email offer) * Buy 3 bowls, get 1 free using code SUPERBOWLS Barley Mow (all locations) * 1/2 price wings * $6 beers * 1/2 price... Being stabilized is uncomfortable3h agoI have been better for a while now, after being diagnosed with bipolar 2 three years ago. I found some medication that helped a lot, and I feel at peace with my life, I feel loved and my living conditions materially quite pleasant. But from time to time it weights on me that the sky is only blue. I need more. Calm is often a void for me, and I am doing everything I can to feel something… even depression sometimes feels better than being mildly happy. How do you all deal with being stabilized ? How do you deal with daily life without your big explosive feelings and moods ? Do you sometimes miss them ? What are you thoughts that help keep going on ? What makes a quiet life worth it ? ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
