Help first Robo vac. Trying to figure out between CurvX and Saros Z70

49m ago

I have two long hair cats that are starting to shed so I think it’s time to get a robo vac and I’ve decided on Roborock. You other posts have been very helpful and I think the CurvX is propbably the right one for me but being my first one and a big investment I just wanted to run it but you. I do have mostly hardwood floors but do have one patch of carpet. I have a cleaning lady come once per week so the mopping thing is great and I am sure it helps with the hair but it’s still going to be manually deep cleaned once per week. i like the roller brushes on the CurvX are good for hair and I like that it has the camera and the pet finder feature and powerful suction. The one thing ...

How do I deal with my relationship with my parents?

51m ago

I (15M) have been considering cutting off contact with my parents for around 5 years now, because I have genuinely felt terrible for years living in my household. I plan to immediately move out at 17 (when I graduate high school) and get out of town. My parents refuse to give me any money for a college fund or any financial help once I move out so I won't be connected to them financially besides still being on their health insurance. I have talked to two different therapists about this, and my friends (not the best source of information, but I need to vent to them sometimes). I have gotten very mixed responses to just "setting boundaries" to "completely cut contact ASAP&q...

What it all means.

52m ago

Hi everyone. I've been in a slump for the past 2 years, and I've only recently started to delve deeper into the decisions that lead me to the severe depression I've been experiencing. In the last month, I started to run again, after quitting physical activity for years. I also stopped or severely reduced the behaviours I use to run away from my life/problems. The funny part ? It made my depression much worse, I started to feel a lot sadder, and having suicidal thoughts. I even had to face the fact that my depression was a burden to the people around me (their words, not mine). And yet.... even after my failures, my mistakes, my self-loathing... I'm starting to believe it&...

Got inspired by the beyoncé block and made a hot rod

52m ago

Since the sneak peak from the devs on youtube I got so excited to use this rounder large piece (the trunk of the car btw). The new pieces are so much fun and can be used for a lot of different builds. About the car: This is my 1st real car, ive made a WV van but it ***** hard, im still pretty bad at how to car, ended using gyros and logic to counter oversteer and counter flip. The one with big wheel is the original design, and drives so much better, but the race wheels goes fast

*Society* - bad ADR or janky streaming?

53m ago

So, I felt like watching *Society* tonight. Felt like some late 80’s “goop” fun. Alas, I don’t have a Blu-ray, and the only place it was streaming for free was Plex. But big chunks of the film seemed slightly off re: audio sync. Was there just a lot of terrible ADR that I never noticed before? Or was this some weird artifact where the video stream glitched? Do you own this film? Is this evident in your copy? I really need to buy this one. And all the *Reanimators*. And the rest of Gordon and Yuzna’s Lovecraft stuff.

Americans have a persecution fetish regarding trade and they are allergic to competition

53m ago

So with among other things a pending ban on DJI drones I think now is a good time to just tell Americans that they have a persecution fetish when it comes to trade. So the cacus beli of this asinine trade war Trump has dragged America into has been the idea that unfair trade has been foisted on this great nation. He recently said that America is "the king of being screwed’ by trade imbalance" The only problem with this is that it doesn't exist. The idea is that America was exceptionally free trade and every other country acted like the cohong. In reality there are 3 issues with this. The USA was never exceptionally free trade, the USA was never treated exceptionally b...

Working for a difficult dr tips?

57m ago

my first office was all female drs, i had never worked w a male dr. my current dr is some older guy who gets frustrated super easy and starts tweaking out mid procedure. he’s super chill otherwise but sometimes if things start to go wrong it doesn’t go well. so it gives me a little anxiety working on harder/more complex procedures w him bc i don’t want to frustrate him. one time he forcefully dropped the explorer on the patients chest ill never forget that 😭😭😭😭but also he doesn’t explain to me how he wants things he kinda just expects me to know. that’s been a big adjustment itself bc my old dr was super patient and loved teaching. i’m still just barely getting to...

Can't make up my mind

57m ago

Can't fully make up my mind. I wanna pick up 1 more ship, possible 1 big and 1 small depending on cost, but im struggling to figure out if forexample for cargo, i prefer an Ironclad as i wouldn't be restricted to space stations only, or Hull D since its 50 bucks more then Hull C, and has a lot of cargo still after its Reduction to like 6900 SCU. What im mainly after with this post is just thoughts on what others think to possibly make up my mind, or know more of what i should consider. Had thought to pick up an Idris this IAE, but i been conflicted because i love my Polaris and having both would feel like 1 would just collect dust. So with the news of changes coming to Polar...

Revisiting Young Justice: Season 2

57m ago

Text wall time babies. [Here's a reminder of the first season, comics and tie-in game.](https://www.reddit.com/r/youngjustice/comments/1ojofp3/revisiting_young_justice_season_1_tiein_comics/) Happy 15th birthday, Young Justice! Now to my thoughts. Remember when I said that Young Justice is the most comic book like show ever? Season 2 steps up a notch. Like, by a long mile. For some reason, in my memories, Season 1 and Season 2 were very similar to one another, with Season 3 and 4 changing the formula a bit. Nope, Season 1 is the odd one out, with Season 2 having a lot more in common with its successors than its predecessor, at least in the format of storytelling, it's still the ...

Zac finds a new store 😱😱😱

57m ago

So Zac’s big discovery is a new store… thank you Zac for alerting us all. His two favorite things in the store seem to be the most boring white bowl I can buy at home goods… but to Zac it’s revolutionary. His other favorite… an aperol spritz ornament because all he does is drink alcohol… no eating because food will make him fat.

Thoughts after playing first 6 hours

58m ago

TLDR at the end. I've played Eve Online off and on for almost 20 years. Finally tried Eve Frontier today, played for about 6 hours. Was interested in a fresh take on the Eve IP. I like the idea of the core gameplay, the whole survival game take of Eve where you are focused on exploration and base building, getting bigger and better ships, through a lot of resource gathering is a fun concept. Seems to be a lot of depth to the tiers of manufacturing and resources. The need to craft and consume fuel and the fear of running out of it is very interesting, adds some depth to the exploration element. I want that core gameplay loop to work. With everything else going on in the game, I am no...

Christmas gift recommendations for 7 year old boy that aren’t going to result in complete dysregulation or meltdowns

58m ago

Trying to figure out what to get my son for Christmas. He is an active kid, and has many of the big ticket items already(bike, surfboard, yoto , kids camera…). I’ve been asking what he wants and so far nothing he has listed is something I would get him. He is very sensory seeking and will just get more and more wound up and nutty with high energy toys so I’ve basically vowed not to get any battery toys. He has talked about getting a video game… not happening, we are a low screen household. Remote control toys… he already has a couple and they generally end up causing a meltdown as he gets anxious about them running out of batteries. Ride on kids car… no for so many reasons. ...

Closing alone on Black Friday?

58m ago

Hi folks, is it normal to have one service manager closing a store on their own, with no checker even...on black Friday? Seems like a big safety and security risk to me. Asking for a friend, they're worried about retaliation since the store is known for it recently. Thanks in advance!

“I will never lose again” promise by Zoro was not thoughtful

1h ago

Make no mistake, I loved the scene. “Until I become the world’s greatest swordsman, I will never lose again, Is that alright? Pirate King”. It was incredible to watch. But he was obviously going to break that promise. Oda knows it. Story was just getting started. Zoro just realised the difference between him and the world’s greatest swordsman. Honor is a huge deal for him. It was reckless to make such a promise. How many times did he lose so far? Enel, Lucci, Kuma, Kizaru. This is if we don’t consider ambushes and tricks. Oda surely avoided a lot of other confrontations that could have handed him an L. Like Big mom, Doflamingo, Ceaser, Kaido, Fujitora, Even law. He would not run ...

Some whale just dropped $84 million on a Bitcoin long position and everyone’s talking about it.

1h ago

A trader that on chain analyst The Data Nerd spotted just opened a massive BTC long on Hyperliquid.... about $84.19 million with 3x leverage. That’s not pocket change, that’s serious conviction that Bitcoin is heading up. What makes this interesting is the timing. Bitcoin is sitting around the low $90k range right now and has been pretty volatile lately. This trader is basically betting big that we’re going to see higher prices soon. The position uses leverage too, which means the gains could be huge but so could the losses if things go south. The market has definitely been heating up. Daily BTC trading volume is in the high tens of billions of dollars right now, so there’s clearly...

19yo Trying to quit nicotine pouches after 3 months of daily use. Need advice or similar stories.

1h ago

Hey everyone. I’m a 19yo guy and I really need some honest advice or stories from people who went through the same thing. I tried nicotine pouches for the first time about a year ago, just out of curiosity. I actually liked the feeling a lot : the calm, the small “high,” the way it made me relax and just think. I used them for about a week, almost one a day, and when the can ended, I stopped easily. A few months later, I used them again with my friends. Same thing ,I quit, then came back. I even bought my own can of 20 once, used one per day for 20 days, and when it finished I honestly got tired of it and quit again. But this summer things changed. I used to go with a friend to sit ...

Has anyone gotten into cal/ucla with a missing major requirement?

1h ago

I’m a second-year bio major at a community college, and I’m running into an issue with one of my major requirements. I’m currently finishing the first semester of General Biology, but for the second semester, I’m last on the waitlist. The class is in really high demand at my school, and based on the drop rate and the waitlist, I’m almost certain I won’t get in. This sequence \*has\* to be completed at my community college at least according to ASSIST, a UC Davis counselor also confirmed that I need to have the full sequence done before transfer. I mentioned this situation in the Additional Comments section of my UC application, but I’m still anxious since it’s a pretty big r...

How's everyone feeling

1h ago

I just thought I'd check in and see how everyone is holding up after the first big holiday of the season with their family. I know not everyone has a strained relationship with their family, but for the ones of us that do, it can be rough. Feel free to vent here, tell any family drama 👀, just say how you're feeling, etc. I went to my ultra conservative and religious family's lunch yesterday. Which I am neither. I didn't plan on going and to chill at home for the day. My mom guilt tripped me into going. So I went on my terms. I showed up with my Dirty Hippy t shirt and yoga pants on (they all dress like they're going to the Met gala) I was also feeling pretty goo...

How Bitcoin turned its “strongest month” into its worst in 7 years...

1h ago

Bitcoin is having one of its worst Novembers since the 2018 bear market and here’s why it’s happening. So far this month, Bitcoin is down roughly 17–20%, trading around the $90–92k range. That’s pretty close to the losses from November 2019, when BTC dropped about 17–18%. The worst November on record was back in 2018, with a brutal ~36% crash in the middle of that bear market. Historically, November has actually been one of Bitcoin’s strongest months, with average returns around 40% in past cycles, so this kind of red November is a big break from the usual pattern. One major structural change this time around is that U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs finally launched in January 2024, wh...
