My experience with using Crunchyroll for the first time ever. (Spoiler: Don't use CR)

27m ago

I'm a big anime fan, and I've watched literally hundreds of different anime and I've never paid for a single one of them. Three months ago, my cell phone plan had a deal where you could get 3 months of CR for free, so I figured "Why not?" and activated the sub. The experience was... not good, to say the least. I've written a list of some of the issues I experienced while watching anime the "legal" way. For the record, I used CR on three different devices - my PC via the browser, the Android mobile app, and the Roku app on my 4K TV. 1. You cannot set the streaming resolution on the Roku app. At all. There is no way to tell it to specifically strea...

How late can I arrive for Daytona 500 ?

28m ago

Hey y'all, Forgive me - Attending D500 for the first time on 2/15. Bought tickets this week. Dont have the budget to get fanzone passes. I might arrive at around 12 pm due to possible travel delays. 1) How late can I arrive on race day ? 2) Dont have prepaid parking tickets. Can I park in Free Lot 7 or Volusia Mall or store lots if I arrive at 12pm ?

18 month old not interacting normally

29m ago

Im a first time single teen mum so just looking for some advice really as he is my first. He was quite “advanced” from young with sitting to walking ect so there’s no concerns for that but what I am worried about is how little interaction he gives back. zero words at all. not even an attempt with babbling sounds he doesn’t say mamma he does not point. he’s also quite angry/aggressive? if I tell him no he hits me regularly (slapping, throwing things kicking) ect He knows what some words are for example if I say bring me your ball sometimes he will but that’s about it. If I say dance he does a little dance he will bring toys to play with but he gets very stressed very quickly and...

Why is it so hard to find a truly accurate miter box these days? Any recommendations?

29m ago

Hi everyone,I’ve been getting more into small indoor projects lately (picture frames, small trim work, and some hobby boxes), but I’m struggling with accuracy. I don't have the space (or the budget) for a massive power miter saw, so I’m looking into getting a manual miter box and saw set.I've noticed a lot of the plastic ones at big-box stores feel... flimsy. I’d love to get your thoughts on what makes a "pro-level" manual setup:Material: Is aluminum/metal worth the extra cost over reinforced plastic? I’m tired of the saw cutting into the box guides.Size & Saw: For general DIY, is a 12-inch saw enough, or should I look for something longer? What’s the ...

Idea: Multiple units inside a bigger unit…

29m ago

I got into 40K and Space Marines as a whole around midway through 10th edition, and something that’s on my Bingo card for 11th edition is being able to have multiple units inside a bigger unit. So let me explain: for example having 5 Intercessors and 5 Hellblaster inside a squad being led by a Lieutenant, the Intercessors have their sticky objectives ability and the Hellblasters have their 3+ return Fire when killed ability and the Lieutenant grants them all Leithal hits. But it the squads can only combine in groups of 5 (so no 20 Intercessors in one squad), they have their same points prices and it has to be the same armour type (so no Phobos and Gravis combinations…except for like a ...

She doesn’t see us getting married

30m ago

My gf (22f) just broke up with me (24m) after nearly 2 years. She says it’s not me it’s her. She doesn’t see us getting married. Cited some of our differences as why she doesn’t see it. Mainly faith-based views but apparently there’s a lot she didn’t want to share. (I personally love that we don’t have the same views. Big fan of spirited debate). She said she still loves me and I really don’t get how that’s not enough. I don’t see a future where we don’t get married. She’s given my life meaning, and I don’t know how or if I even want to go on. We’ve been long distance since June. Am I a ***** for being adamant that I want to wait for her? I just can’t imagine a ...

How do you deal with standing water under tiles?

30m ago

I have a small, enclosed, concrete patio and I tried covering it with ikea runnen plastic tiles and grass tiles. it looks nice but the problem is that there's a lot of ambient dust that settles daily. I live southern California where it rains very infrequently. the rain mixes with the dust and turns into mud. the tiles are raised for drainage but water doesn't flow that well. the mud became a breeding ground for mosquitos. I pulled up the tiles to clean it (I should have taken photos before the cleaning, it was covered in black mud) is there a way to smooth out the concrete? should i resign myself to just clean more frequently? also, should i worry about that big crack in the mi...

Everything In The Story Can Be Explained By Yogācāra

30m ago

I have seen so many theories about what's going on in these games, but few people talk about this, and those who do, it's only at a surface level. So I decided to look into it, and make this post to clarify some missconceptions(timelines, multiverse, etc). The scenario writer, Kazushige Nojima, explicitly said in the Rebirth Ultimania that he studied Yogācāra (along with Jung's collective unconscious) to shape how the world works and to hint at how the story might conclude. Yogācāra is a branch of Buddhist thought that focuses on how experience and mind shape what we call reality. Not just how we think about the world, but how the world appears to us, because of our pas...

Is It Me or Are There A Lot Of Kids At Stores During The Day?

31m ago

I realize I'm 56 and maybe out of touch but, what's up with all these school age kids at the grocery store or Costco at 10 o'clock - 11 o'clock in the morning? When I was younger if you weren't in school you better be at an appointment or in your house. I'm at a business lunch and there's two 10 -11 y.o. kids just wilding out when I'm trying to finish my frozen margarita. It was killing my vibes.

I die too much in my dreams

31m ago

Today i dreamt of dying, after the event day and in a random court with a field of grass. I was huddled up with other students who participated and teachers who were commending us. Suddenly, I got elbowed in the temple by accident and died. After I died, I woke up in a mysteriously peaceful but ethereal world. It was my neighbourhood but more magical. The sky at night was a dark blue but in the horizon it shone with vibrant indigo and navy blue. Think of it like the aurora borealis. Then, after struggling to stand up, I made my way to a full mirror that spans an entire wall. My reflection was not human, it was an outlined black monster with broken and missing limbs. Some other ghosts who l...

Books for people who loved Disco Elysium?

31m ago

I recently finished DE and have a lot of appetite for books that could fill the same hole. I've looked through some recommendations on this subreddit but by the way they're presented they don't really scratch the itch imo. I don't care about the books having a mistery/crime element, rather just an in depth exploration of a space (real or imaginary) that takes local history and s character's psyches seriously. I read a book called "The Songlines" about an English writer going down to Australia to help protect Indigenous sites from development and while it's not nearly as bleak as DE it clears a lot of the same boxes, even other minor ones such as th...

Rug solutions needed. Open to all ideas. Even nontraditional .

31m ago

This is my area rug. I got it because it was cheap and I needed big rug for my new dog as she was sliding around like on ice. The many colors hide dirt even though some colors are light and this is huge win! Doggo loves the rug!! I think it’s OK. i like colors but to me it gives a modern vibe and I was going for eclectic and a little boho. The size is not perfect for room but perfect for dog so it’s a keeper because she can run full zoomies with traction and she can roll around! The rug works so great that it turns out I need MORE rugs because once my dogs zooms off of rug she can’t adjust to wood and yikes! The rugs will be close together or could possibly be layered. The pictu...

off the path Lower Manhattan recs?

31m ago

I am visiting in a few days and I have been to NYC more times than I can count as I have family in the area, and have done all of the cliche things more than enough times. I have a day this week where I’ll be in the city, and I just want to just walk around and just pop into stores or sit in a park and people watch, maybe grab a drink. Looking to stay in Lower Manhattan/Brooklyn, but I’ll take suggestions for anywhere for small places that are worth checking out. I’m big into art and history, but like I’ve said, if there’s a “tourist attraction”, I can promise I’ve been there. I’d prefer to go as shoestring of a budget as possible, as I’m a student (non-local, so none of ...

[19/M] Open my post at your peril...hey no...hey...stop scrolling...give me a chance will you!

32m ago

Alright now I have your attention. Hello! Welcome to the post dungeon. You walk into a cave (with a sign out front that says post dungeon, let's not get some association after us) and there's 4 other caves inside, like some Scooby Doo ****. The first cave grumbles and you hear faint Taylor Swift and Carly Rae Jepsen. That's the music cave. You go into that one first. A disembodied voice speaks as you stand infront of hundreds of posters of different artists. I listen to Gregory Alan Isakov, Zach Bryan, Ed Sheeran and Lord Huron a lot. Mumford and Sons too! Love a good folk song but as you heard before, im no stranger to white girl music, or rap or yacht rock. Yes im r...

Tired but committed

32m ago

I love my dog so much. She adds a lot of purpose to my life, and I feel less lonely since having her around. But she also makes me so scared, sad, tired and frustrated and anxious all day every day. I feel guilty for not doing enough and for wanting to give up and for wishing I had a life without her. She's got a bite history, not breaking skin/bleeding but deep bruising that leaves me incredibly afraid something's gonna break. With a muzzle, meds, and a ton of work, we've made progress - I only worry about bites in (mostly) predictable circumstances, which I can usually avoid. She probably has IBD and is on a hydrolyzed diet for it. The diet is expensive, the meds are expens...

2025 Patagonman Race Report

33m ago

Hi Everyone. It has been almost 2 months since I raced the Patagonman Extreme Triathlon in the Aysen region of Chilean Patagonia. I thought I would write a report about the race. Not so much about my own race as the major suggestion would be "don't get sick before your race" but with the draw for this year's race coming up, to give some info to others as to what to expect and hopefully answer some questions that I struggled to find answers to in my preparations. This will probably be pretty long but the tldr; It is an awesome race and experience and you should do it. **What is Patagonman:** For those that do not know, it is a full distance, self supported, point to po...

Denial, Deflection, and Blame: Trump on Epstein and the DOJ — I Hope Michael Wolff Sues for Defamation.

33m ago

I have nothing to do with that reaction, and in fact, if you look at the DOJ, they announced, you know, they released three million pages. It’s like this is all they’re supposed to be doing. And frankly, the DOJ, I think, should just say, we have other things to do, because that whole thing has turned out — I mean, other than Bill Clinton and, you know, Bill Gates and lots of people that have — there are a lot of questions about it, but nothing on me. But it was even sort of better than that because they found that Jeffrey Epstein and this Lisberg writer named Michael Wolf were conspiring against Donald Trump to lose the election. So Epstein was conspiring with a writer for me to l...

My Dad won. I bought a Car duster even if every car guys I know keeps telling me is bad

33m ago

I bought a car last July. First thing I was supposed to buy was a car duster. But my Toyota agent told me not to buy one. The mechanic in toyota also explains that is not recommended because of micro scratches. I did my own research and sure enough, almost every car guy says is a big no. Just use water if there is dust build up. My Dad is different. He is very conservative about everything. Politics, culture, way of life, construction techniques. That also includes cars. While modern day car cleaning practices not recommend car duster, he is the opposite. I must get one. To the point, he won't stop bugging me every single day. He keeps telling me micro scratches aren't real. (Yes ...

Aladdin Sane - David Bowie 32/1089

34m ago

Review: Yay! Another Bowie album. I’m excited to see what some of earlier Bowie has to offer. Starting off strong with Watch that Man! That 70s guitar sound and the steady drums going the whole time, awesome! Going into the title track, it was slightly all over the place with the horns, saxophone, and piano. It did still have those steady drums which grounded it. Not my type of song, but I can see the appeal. Drive in Saturday was a nice track! I liked the way that the chorus was built up to! I’m a sucker for a slow verse and a big chorus. I really enjoyed Cracked Actor! It had a nice groove to it. Time was long, but enjoyable. I loved the Prettiest Star, and Let them Spend the N...
