Got out the old measuring stick to do some wood maths

47m ago

We operate a small woodyard in a big state park and we have 2 vending machines that sell our bags of white ash firewood 24/7/365 inside the park. This year we will need about 7000 bags of firewood based on our previous year sales to keep our machines stocked daily for the next 6 months in addition to our nightly cash firewood sales. We are bagging and putting up bags for the upcoming season. I already purchased the entire lot of .75 cu ft bags for the year. Today I used a proper 8’ x 4’ x 16” measured standard to see how many of our red bags it would take to make a face cord. It’s 47 bags. I threw the 2 “extra bags” on top to account for any gaps and just to make sure we we...

I made a mistake

47m ago

Throwaway for obvious reasons. I’ve been married almost 6 years. We’ve had some genuinely good times together and we have the most beautiful little girl I could ever ask for. She’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. But I’m reaching a point where I feel like I’m falling out of love with my wife, and I’m scared I’m starting to resent her. We didn’t start on the strongest foundation. I wasn’t her first or even second choice — two other guys had to fall through before she gave me a real shot. There are days I honestly wish she hadn’t picked me, except for our daughter. Over the last few years the things I used to enjoy most in our intimate life (oral and anal) ...

How Hermès Managers Prioritize Clients for Ultra-Rare Bags

48m ago

Ever wondered how managers decide who gets the Himalayas, mini houses, and other ultra-limited bags? Here’s the breakdown of how they score you, based on years of talking to SAs and collectors. 📊 How Managers Rank You (The Breakdown) 1. Total Lifetime Spend (30%) For grail bags, your total history matters more than ever. Some stores even have unspoken thresholds — think multi-year spend targets — because managers want to know you’ll keep buying after the bag. 2. Last 12 Months Spend & Category Mix (30%) They’re looking at how much you’ve spent lately, and what you bought. A mix of big-ticket items across categories signals you’re a well-rounded, committed client. ...

For the Sci-Fly Lovers

48m ago

Hey everyone! I’m a first-time writer sharing my story on Wattpad, and I’m looking for readers who’d be willing to check it out and give honest feedback. I’m really trying to grow and improve, so any thoughts—big or small—would mean a lot. I’ll absolutely return the support by engaging with your stories too! The story is a sci-fi thriller that starts with an impossible pregnancy—one that quickly turns into something much bigger, involving unknown DNA, growing public scrutiny, and forces that may be connected across time itself. It explores mystery, survival, and the idea that one life could change the fate of humanity… but I promise there’s a lot more beneath the surfa...

For my black women, do you feel like dating interracially has opened the door to better treatment in your relationships?...

48m ago

I always hear a lot of other black women say that they’ve been treated very differently (in a positive way) after for example, dating a guy that’s white or another race. So I have some questions. 1. Do you feel like dating interracially has opened the door to better treatment in your relationships? 2. Are there things that your non-black partner does that you didn’t experience in previous relationships with men of the same race that make a big difference in how you feel in your current relationship? 3. What are the biggest positive differences you’ve observed while dating your non-black partner? I’m curious to hear your experiences!

i like the pick a lot, people just **** it because it's not flashy.

48m ago

there's a good amount of steelers fans that don't like this pick and i get it, picking o line every year can get a bit redundant i understand. but i honestly like this first pick of the big mike era. We have a first place schedule and have to face great defenses (texans, jaguars, broncos, eagles just to name a few). I like that we are developing and building a line for will howard to throw, and to open lanes for Dowdle and Warren. Majority of those are mad because of missing out on Lemon (I get it i was let down initially). Also, this reciever class goes deep and there is a lot to choose from with our picks (11 remaining). One of the biggest reasons Najee Harris was never able to t...

[PC][1995-2000] FPS, early use of polygonal 3D, set in a large, green field with several hills, watchtowers and cabins

49m ago

It's a first-person shooter. Primitive for its time, as the world's skeleton, or wireframe, stood out above all else. There's a lot of green everywhere. Perhaps the level was a jungle. You'd first start in a somewhat endless green field before seeing hills (could've just a big one or several smaller ones) that you could climb on foot at a moderate speed, slowly perhaps. It was a rather slow game, really. You reach a village where you could freely explore the interiors of the huts or cabins, as well as climb the watchtowers via ladders that seemed to be made of sticks. You were usually armed with a sniper rifle. You easily eliminated enemies from a distance, althou...

The train lurches and a man in a blue beanie stumbles into Marcus, who catches him by the arm. The man steadies himself, giving an apologetic smile and a nod. Lights streak by more slowly as the train rolls to a stop, and the doors open. Several seats open up. Marcus chooses the on...

Am i wrong to be worried about my husband's sudden changes?.

50m ago

Hi I'm a 40F, and my husband is 41M. We've been together for 15 years, married for 12, and it's generally been a good relationship. We have three amazing kids (two girls and a boy), and he's a great father. He's always been a good guy and treats me well. Recently, though, he's changed a lot, and it's been a bit unsettling. First, he shaved off his beard, which he always said he'd never do, and I loved it, but it's not a big deal am not crazy that it would annoy me lol. Then, his hobbies shifted he used to be all about golf, football, and basketball, but now he's really into dancing art, which he's surprisingly good at....

University of Berkshire Hathaway Book Summary - Daniel Pecaut

50m ago

Inspired by another post and Mr Google found me a summary. Hoped it is useful for you too. # University of Berkshire Hathaway Book Summary This a fantastic introduction and summary of the key concepts and ideas of two amazing investment minds, Warren Buffet and Charlie Munger. I personally love Munger and Buffets skeptical lens they apply to investing and financial markets and how they sift through the bullshit to give time tested investing principles. This isn’t just a book on investing, it’s a book on business, economics and how to see the world accurately. I particularly like the following quote by Charlier Munger which summaries a lost of their worldview on the current state of t...

Is this Staffordshire dog “real” (Wisconsin, USA)

51m ago

I got this at an antique store in a smaller town in WI. Unfortunately it was not in a pair. There’s a lot of indicators it could be an original and not early 1900’s replica, but I am no expert at all.

LPT: Make a GOOD resume!

52m ago

Resumes (sorry if my phone isn't spelling that word correctly) are key to ANY job, IMO. I don't want to make a long and drawn out post, so let me just say this to people who are, potentially, actively looking for work.... SELL YOURSELF!!! A good resume is key to almost ANY job. I don't care if it's your 3rd job and you're applying for McDonald's. You want/need that job over the other people applying for it? Prove it. The #1 thing is to SELL YOURSELF. Think, "why would anyone want to hire me?" 🤔 Exactly! WHY would they? What do YOU bring to the table that NO ONE else can? At the very least, in an interview, you need to be poised, conf...

I’m planning on ending it in 99 Days

52m ago

I (32M) lost my mom back in August of last year. The grief has just consumed me and it has ruined so many aspects of my life. I lost my best friend due to my lack of communication and overall attitude change after all this and I’ve lost the love of my life. That’s the hardest part. I’ve been “rehearsing” this suicide for months now and every time she has been there to stop me even going as far as to follow me up the mountain I was going to drive off and begging me to live. I’ve given myself 99 days for two reasons the first is to ensure that all the promises I made in our relationship I get those done but also because in 99 days it will be my moms birthday and I know that day wil...

Why Neve Campbell’s Scream 7 performance resonated so deeply with me

52m ago

I’ve long maintained that Neve Campbell is one of the most undervalued actors working in Hollywood. Despite anchoring a billion-dollar franchise and delivering a number of memorable performances across film and television, she is still often written off as “one-note” by a lot of people, but in my opinion, her screen presence is undeniable and her range as an actress is broader and contains more versatility than she’s typically given credit for. However, what ultimately distinguishes her, at least to me, is a highly refined ability to convey emotional depth with striking restraint. More specifically, her facial acting operates at a level of control and showcases emotional depth that o...

Bait and switch experience with Xfinity - awful customer experience

52m ago

I have just had the worst customer experience of my 15 years as a Comcast customer. In September 2025, an Xfinity sales representative convinced me to add a premium membership at $13/month specifically so I could qualify for a trade-in discount on a new iphone. I have been paying this fee for roughly seven months. April 2026 I went to the Xfinity store Center City Philadelphia (walnut st) to finally trade in my phone for a new one. The first sales rep I worked with was professional, friendly and genuinely helpful. He logged into my account, verified my phone, and confirmed a $700 trade-in value. He had me start deactivating anti-theft (a one-hour process) and I picked out an iPhone Pro Max...

Does anyone has any luck with vintage jewelry?

53m ago

have\* I’ve bought quite a lot of vintage jewelry (e.g., clip-on earrings, brooches, necklaces) over the years and tried reselling some of it. They’re all signed. However most of them don’t move for two years. I don’t think pricing is the issue since I’ve kept it low - bought for 5-15 each and listed at 10-30. I’m starting to think vintage jewelry isn’t a good niche for reselling. Signed pieces are hard to find at thrift stores, and even if I do find them, they’re always priced high. But at the same time there’s no real demand in the real world. People don’t actively look for or buy them. Am I the only one feeling this way?

For the runners, here is a dang near perfect 5k loop

53m ago

Only issue id say with this loop is youre running at the busy parts of Elk Grove. Only time i had to stop was for cars turning into parking lots or neighborhoods but other than that its a good route to run for endurance training. Big plus, if you start and end near the ridge, theres a lot of restaurants to go to after to refuel

Cat Stressed When to Know of Blockage

53m ago

I have a male cat, named Ringo, (picture as thanks for reading) and tonight he was crying a weird cry in the other room. It as deep and sounded very different. I wouldn't say quite the pain cry, but maybe similar? He has had some extra stressed as we have a foster dog we were planning to adopt, but the two of them didn't get along. The dog will go to another home this weekend, but our cat has been pretty stressed since the introductions didn't go well. He barks a lot whenever he can smell us coming into the room and such, so I know my cat has been stressed for this last week. Anyway, I know how to feel for his bladder and it's been pretty big most times I check but not...
