I feel bad for not liking my own sister

3h ago

I have a sister who is 13 years older than me (im 30 and shes 43). im stuck with how I feel for her. I love her obviously as my sister.. but I dont really like her and I feel horrible for saying that. due to our age gap we were never really close, she moved out of home when she was 14 and I was 1 so we never really had a relationship. we would really only see each other at family gatherings or call each other every few months. as I got older I made a real effort with our relationship but it just never really went anywhere, I felt like the effort was very one sided. when I became a mother I thought her becoming an Aunty would be a perfect opportunity to bring us closer...it didnt. shes makes...

Best place to start for Seraphon lore having read nothing at all?

3h ago

Hello! Title says it all really; my mate is really into the Seraphon models and wanted to find out more about their lore other than the basic few sentences pitch you get. But rather than read summaries on wiki pages (less fruitful that 40k lore to be fair) they're keen to read some official stuff from GW. I asked my local GW store manager this same question, and he recommended "Temple of the Serpent" as a good one even though it's actually a Skaven book.(and isn't on the below linked list!) I've also seen that "Starseer's Ruin" is the more readily available book, and I figured their Battletome would be a good primer, but from what I can see, that...

The Hidden Spending Habits That Kept Me Broke Every Month

3h ago

Every month, I ran out of money before the month ended. I moved money from one account to another. I felt like I could never save, no matter how much I earned. One month, I decided to track every expense. I did not try to budget. I did not try to stop spending. I just wanted to see where my money was going. That is when I understood something important. It was not the big bills causing the problem. Rent was expected. Utility bills were normal. The real problem was the small spending I did not notice: Buying takeout when I was tired Subscriptions I forgot about Small impulse buys that did not seem serious Each one looked small. But together, they took a lot of money every month. That...

The difference for me between the seasons

3h ago

I think my only hesitation with Company Retreat compared to Jury Duty comes down to the main person they chose and how that changes the whole dynamic. With Jury Duty, Ronald worked so well because he was naturally introverted and clearly uncomfortable being the center of attention. You could see it in moments like when he got made foreman and he did not want that role, but he tried to do the right thing anyway. Or when the group got chaotic and ridiculous, he’d kind of sit back, process, and respond in a really genuine, grounded way. That’s what made everything feel real, you were watching a normal guy slowly get pulled deeper into absurdity. Also, his connections with the actors felt ...

The game needs a proper Co-op Division mode

3h ago

I've been playing for about a year now, and I don't know if they're even working on it, but the lack of a Co-op Division is a huge letdown. A lot of us play co-op every single day, it’s a big part of the game for many people. We really need a solid, well-designed Co-op Division. There should be special player rewards for it too, just like in the regular divisions. Right now, it feels like co-op is just being ignored. I mean, there are literally no decent rewards besides that 3,000 GP.

Why are we blindly trusting AI companies with our data?

3h ago

Lately I’ve been seeing a story floating around that really made me pause. Apparently, there were claims that the US government asked Anthropic (the company behind Claude) for user data and they pushed back, while OpenAI was more cooperative. Now — I don’t know how accurate this is. It could be misinterpreted, exaggerated, or completely false. But that’s not even the main point. The real question is: Why are we so comfortable trusting these companies with our data in the first place? We use tools like ChatGPT for everything — coding, personal problems, business ideas — sometimes things we wouldn’t even tell people we know. And yet: • Most of us don’t read privacy p...

Recommendations and protips for Midsummer

3h ago

Hi everyone! Could you recommend where to go for Midsummer? I’m new in Sweden and currently living in Lysekil. I’ve heard that Midsummer is a really big and fun celebration here, so I’d love to experience it properly and maybe invite some friends. We’re thinking about renting something within \~200 km. Do you have any recommendations for places with a great atmosphere, traditional celebrations, or fun events? Also, any pro tips for Midsummer in Sweden would be super appreciated! Thanks a lot!

Customer had medical catastrophe after we would not honor a coupon that didn't apply to her item

3h ago

A customer came in today. She was in her late 60s-mid 70s It's the last day of one of our big sales events and she came in frantically to buy a dress she saw online that we sell. She found the dress got to the register and wanted the 25% coupon applied but it doesn't work on this designer. It never takes coupons as it's always excluded. The employee told her it doesn't apply and she said to try it again and the employee explained that it does not work. She asked her to call a manager over because the employee doesn't know how to do her job. The manager arrives and looks at the item, scans the coupon again, hits the checkout button and it doesn't apply. Sh...

[PC][2010s] Isometric 2D Dark Medieval Fantasy MMORPG

3h ago

**Platform(s):** PC, **I** specifically played it on Windows **Genre:** Isometric 2D, Pixel, MMORPG, Dark Medieval **Estimated year of release:** \~2010-2018, though could've been released earlier **Graphics/art style:** Fairly detailed pixel art style. The closest comparison I can give is the art style of Dark Ages (I wondered a few times if Dark Ages was the game I was looking for just because of its art style but it wasn't) **Notable characters:** You had (I believe) four characters that you could have in your party, which you chose from a selection of characters that were specific classes and had (I believe) fixed appearances. Some descriptions of specific characters I reme...

Not sure on next steps - FTHB - beginning stages

3h ago

Hello! My boyfriend and I are planning on moving out of our apartment in July - that's when the lease is up. We live in Maryland, and plan on staying in Maryland. I don't want to rent anymore, and believe I am ready to purchase. I have about 5k in student loan debt, i don't carry any credit card debt over, and my car is paid off. I started a new job at the beginning of the year, and now make 112k (before, with overtime and after taxes i made 75-85k/yr). I've been in the same industry for about 4-5 yrs. My boyfriend has more credit card debt than I do, no student loans, and a car payment. So im planning on putting the home into my name, while he pays me rent unti...

5 Ways to Fix Your Low LinkedIn Engagement

3h ago

LinkedIn reach dropping can feel… personal. Like maybe your ideas aren’t landing, or people just don’t care. But from what I’ve seen, that’s rarely the case. Most of the time, it’s not a content problem. It’s how the content is being presented. If your posts have been stuck lately, here are 5 things I come back to: **#1 Your Hook Isn’t Pulling Its Weight** If the first 2–3 lines don’t make someone pause, the rest of your post doesn’t matter. I’ve written genuinely useful posts… and they went nowhere because the opening was weak. What’s been working better for me is stacking a few elements together: Numbers + a bit of story + a slight curiosity gap. **#2 Add ...

23 F - Looking for Friends Globally

3h ago

Hey Everyone, I’m from Australia and looking to make some new friendships 😊 I’ve found it pretty hard to meet people lately since I’m quite a homebody and tend to keep to myself a lot. Honestly, the only people I really spend time with are my family and my boyfriend, so my circle is pretty small. I also deal with anxiety and panic, which definitely doesn’t make things any easier when it comes to putting myself out there but I’m trying my best everyday. A few things I enjoy are gaming, going for walks, reading, listening to music, and I have a big interest in psychology too. I’m always happy to chat about pretty much anything though. If anyone’s in a similar boat or just...

Regent Insights for Climbing to Ascension 10 (Early Access)

I've seen a lot of memes, videos, and just posts in general complaining about how difficult they're finding the Regent to play. Even MegaCrit seems to have responded with a suite of buffs in the Experimental Branch which, while welcome as a fan of the character, seems largely unnecessary to me. To that end, I thought I'd share my insights on the climb and how I've found success in cas...

Letter from A Caregiver

3h ago

Subject A Day in My Life as a Caregiver Every day looks a little different, but the heart of it stays the same. Being a caregiver isn’t about control or acting like a parent. It’s about being someone steady when the world feels shaky for another person. It’s about helping create a space where someone can feel safe enough to rest their mind. Most days start simple. I check in. Not in a big dramatic way, just a quiet “How are you feeling today?” Sometimes the answer is clear. Sometimes it’s not. That’s okay. Part of this role is learning to read between the lines, noticing tone, energy, and little shifts. If they’re feeling overwhelmed, that’s when I gently help guide things....

19M(gender questioning)4F/tF/NB US/online Hello all, it’s a slim chance, but I’ve been trying to get out there more, going to try to tell you all about me and what I’m looking for! Who am I? What are the best real-world use cases of AI you’ve seen in software development?

3h ago

I’ve seen a lot of hype around AI in development, but some use cases actually deliver real value. One of the biggest for me is **AI-assisted coding**. It’s great for speeding up repetitive tasks, suggesting fixes, or helping understand unfamiliar code. Not perfect, but definitely a time-saver. **Testing and debugging** are other areas where AI really helps. Generating test cases or catching edge cases early can make a big difference in maintaining code quality. I also think **documentation** is underrated. AI tools that explain code or summarize files make onboarding and knowledge sharing much easier. On the DevOps side, AI is useful for **log analysis and anomaly detection**, especi...
