Loads of responsibilities, existential paper work, stocking heavens snack machine. You'd expect it to be a heavy weight on our metaphorical shoulders. Except it's not, turns out divinity means nothing when infinitely drifting between each and every creation you made in a vast unending abyss. We made every thought reality, yet couldn't make a friend to share it with. Smashing planets into each other helps but that eventually gets tiresome after a few billion years. Like "Wow, cant believe it, another explosion resulting in a moon or two forming, how shocking." We had an infinite playground....but no one wanted to... Expat Value in Mexico is Gone2h agoBeen doing a lot of travel in Latam and in the USA and I'm just going to say it: the value that came with Mexico until recently is most definitely gone. I'm fortunate to have traveled a lot of Mexico, nearly all the states, and am glad I did it when I did, but I'm definitely winding down my time in Mexico. Here are some reasons why: Infrastructure: In a lot of the country, it continues to be sub-standard. I'm talking about everything from poor cellular coverage to electric and water outages and shoddy plumbing to poorly paved streets and dangerous sidewalks country-wide to broken technology ("no hay sistema!"). Heat and Central Mexico: It's getting hotter... [RF] Vacation from the abyss2h agoA divine being sounds like an important role. Which is the first typical food first-timers should try in the USA when they travel?3h agoI’ve seen several discussions about typical food in the United States, but I don’t really find recommendations on what to eat or where. Tourists always end up going for pizza and burgers. What do you think can be recommended to someone traveling to the USA for the first time? Question on bringing food into Chile4h agoWe're doing the O trek next month. I would love to bring all our food from the USA, but it's hard to tell what is acceptable to bring into the country. I read that you can't bring nuts, dried fruit, or dried meats in. I'm wondering if I'm okay to bring in dehydrated meals with these ingredients (think Mountain House Chicken Pad Thai with Peanuts, etc.)? What about packaged never-opened trail mix? Jerky? Travelling to China in May, suggestions and guidance.4h agoHey everyone, I’m currently planning a trip to China for about two weeks in mid-May and would really appreciate some advice from people who’ve been before or live there. I’ll be flying from Arizona (USA), but I’m considering flying out of LAX if it ends up being cheaper. Since traveling to China is a long journey and something that feels pretty once-in-a-lifetime, I really want to make the most of it. Right now, my main idea is to stay in Quanzhou for the full two weeks. The purpose of the trip isn’t just sightseeing I also want to experience the culture, daily life, and explore the country properly. One of my main interests is clothing shopping. I’m looking for high-quality, we... I need help showing my appreciation for my boyfriends parents for helping me surprise him for his birthday. I used the term in-laws above just for ease for the title. I (F31) am surprising my boyfriend (M27) by coming to the UK from USA to see him the week of his birthday. He always books that week off work and isn't expecting me to come see him until June of 2026. I messaged his mom about surprising him, and his parents have offered to pick me up from the airport in Manchester (2 hours oneway from thier house), they've paid for our Airbnb in Yorkshire, hotel in London, and for the train that takes me from where he lives in Yorkshire to... That's an alien, bruv. Believe it.5h agoEveryone's worried about the precipitation that they're forecasting for this weekend. We all know how just a little bit of snow and ice can effectively shut the city down. But please, let's not forget about the lesser-known hazards, like the monsters from outer space that always seem to accompany any given Nashville snowfall... Big alien gorilla wolf motherfuckers. Help me decide my trip😅6h agoI’m a 28M solo traveler from the USA with a round-trip flight booked into Madrid at the end of April. Total trip length is 2 weeks. The only fixed plan is that I need to be in Sevilla for a wedding on the weekend of the 24th. Everything else is flexible. A bit of context: I’ve already been to Barcelona on a previous trip years ago though, so I’m not prioritizing that this time Traveling solo, fairly active; I enjoy culture, food, photography, and long walks around cities, plus the occasional day trip I’m a bit introverted and don’t speak much Spanish (basic phrases), but I’m comfortable exploring on my own and pretty open to whatever I currently have a hotel booked in Malas... I have been craving chicken, pancit canton noodles, and eggs. Along with pork with cheese and kimchi and rice. And soju. How I miss to have money. I have been craving clean clothes. And at the same time I want to leave this house and live in another house where I have my own private room. Washing machine. And space and cabinets and laundry basket to organize my clothes. A bed with clean and organized sheets. Cute and warm lights. A board where I can put all the new accesories and mementos and pictures that I will collect. A place for all my shoes. Perfume that smells good. Sunlight entering the room. A kitchen that smells good. Dogs, ca... Ground meat - do you grind at home? Just eat whole meats?6h agoHey all - so wife and I had been on a journey to get rid of UPF’s and we’ve done a good job on our prepared meals each week but one that’s been tough is ground meat. We usually get ground chicken or turkey but all these options have either natural flavors or rosemary extract for preservation purposes. Not sure if we should just switch to whole chicken thighs/breasts and cut them up into smaller pieces or if folks here are using a meat grinder at home for ground meats? This seems to be a uniquely USA issue because of course all our food is poisoned.
