Why are liberals literally better at everything and why must we suffer the existence of conservatives?

As a Christian, I believe I did the right thing voting Trump.

34m ago

First off, where was all this outrage for the last four years. I keep seeing people act devastated over Trump, but I did not see this same energy when Biden was dragging the country through economic and cultural chaos. The people now claiming to be so morally wounded were silent while inflation exploded, the border fell apart, and Americans were struggling just to afford food and rent. That tells me a lot about how selective this moral concern really is. I keep seeing people say they regret voting for Trump, but I don’t. As a Christian, I prayed about my vote, and I still believe I made the right decision. I am not blind to his flaws. He is not a pastor and he is not Jesus. I did not vote...

🩷 Adopt Inky 🩷 (Available in BC, Canada and WA, USA) 🐾 Hi there! My name is Inky — a sweet, gentle pup looking for my forever family 🐾 Breed: Jindo Mix Age: 7 Months Gender: Male Weight: 24 lb (still growing) Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, rarely barks, no escape tendency I may be a little shy when we first meet, but give me a few treats (yum!) and a bit of time, and you’ll see my true self — a loving, playful boy who adores cuddles and belly rubs. 💕 For about a month, I lived in a foster home with two kids — one in elementary school and the other in high school — along with my buddy Dudley. I loved it! I get so happy when I see kids that I start to jump...

Culinary Whirlwind

🇵 🇷 🇴 🇲 🇵 🇹 Central Action / Focus: * The central focus is the chaotic whirlwind of kitchen activity. * Kitchen utensils, vegetables, fruits, and spices are violently swirling as if caught in a miniature tornado. * Juicy fragments, hyper-detailed splashes, and shimmering water droplets are frozen mid-motion. * Every element emphasizes realism: textures, reflections, and subtle motion blur where appropriate. Lighting & Atmosphere: * Soft volumetric daylight streams from a large off-camera window, illuminating floating ingredients. * Light creates depth and dimension with gentle shadows, highlighting textures on fruits, vegetables, and kitchen utensils. * Subtle h...

I wonder if any of our daily efforts really matters or if the environment is already doomed - And I feel so hopeless

1h ago

I think everyone of us have thought "Do I *want* to watch the news today? No, I do not". It is all so negative, depressing and disturbing to read and hear about the greater nations threatening each other and everyone else. And at the same time, you have to remember to sort your plastics, glass and milk cartons. Does any of that really matter in the great scheme of things? In 2015 the 17 World Goals were adopted by all member states of the United Nations. They speak of reducing waste and pollution, greater care for the environment and oceans and to reduce our CO2 emissions. But is that going to make a difference, that the average John and Jane have a talk with the kids and use th...

I have one annoyance with my code. It leaves an empty row between outputs. Seeking mainland recommendations for a mother-daughter trip in late September

1h ago

Planning a 10-12 day itinerary for myself (31 F) and my mom (65 F) for late September. We prefer places that are off the beaten path, and prefer smaller towns to big cities. We enjoy beaches, food, wine tastings, beautiful landscapes/views, and walks. Mom is active and in good shape but not up for big hikes. Flying from east coast USA, most likely to Athens. Planning to spend 1 day in Athens to see historic sites (I have been before, so it's mostly for my mom). We may also do 1 or 2 nights in Santorini - I also have been before but I absolutely loved it and my mom is dying to see it. I know I said off the beaten path but... I'm okay with popping into Santorini in the morning, seei...

i408 approved with less than 3 months of marriage and within 2 months

1h ago

Hi everyone, I meant to post this a month ago but I neglected to do so, but with anything, better late than never.  As the title says, my wife and I applied for the marriage based GC after only being married for 2-3 months. Although, we have been together for a year. That said, our experiences and life evidence is tremendous in only year of being together.  For reference, our FO was SJ and we live in Silicon Valley. I’m a naturalized citizen since 2019 after coming to USA from Philippines on 2007. At the time of filing, I was 27 and my wife was 33. Her country of birth is China and she came here prior in order to get a masters at Cornell and eventually working for a tech comp...

22F F4M shy cuddly nerdy girl seeking shy nerdy cuddly guy 💕

2h ago

Starting this year without any companionship has been really lonely. I’m hoping to find people to make friends with and hopefully more with the right person and have regular contact, ideally talking every day, sharing our lives and our days together. I really miss having someone to say good morning and goodnight to. I’m also looking for a gaming buddy! I play all sorts of games and I’m open to playing whatever honestly as long as we’re having fun. Minecraft is my favorite, but I enjoy a lot of games. I’m on the shy side and pretty laid back. I enjoy peaceful time together and cozy vibes. I love deep and intellectual conversations and getting to really know someone. My inter...

First trip report

2h ago

30/m/usa I’ve been inspired by others Nov 23-dec 6th Overall I had a great time. I don’t regret how I spent any of it Night 1: Arrive in Pattaya at about 12:30 at night. Quick shower after 30 hours of travel, and I’m out for a walk . No specific location. I pass by the lady boys as I’m headed to soi bukaho. They try roping me in. I tell them they’re beautiful and continue my way. I stop at a small bar, maybe 3 working girls, a few drinks, and just take everything in. The bustling traffic, everyone is smiling, the endless amount of women which somehow outnumber the men no matter what. I walk a bit more, and a cute girl waves me into Silver’s Bar, which is now my favori...

Diet Culture and Your Culture

2h ago

This sub is for everyone... how has your personal/family culture affected your attitudes around health and food? Personally-- I come from hard core diet culture, russian style. an obsession with being thin, and an obsession with controlling what/how much you eat (and what your children eat). the most damaging belief from where i come from, i think, has been the idea that you need to starve to lose weight.. and it's exactly that which develops binge eating disorders. I will say, however, as someone whos lived in the USA for a long time... I think Russian culture is actually much better than the US at making women feel valued/valuable regardless of size/gender. The culture that I...

The Bronze Age Collapse of 1177 bc and the Digital Age Collapse of 2077 ad

3h ago

Watched an interesting documentary on the Bronze Age collapse of 1177 bc. It was our first age of globalization with multiple civilization, empires, kingdoms and city states all interconnected by trade (especially the tin and copper used to make bronze - the "oil" of their age. There were as many geopolitical players in the Bronze Age (Hittites, Egyptians, Myceneans, Assyrians, Elamites, Mitanni, Kassites, etc.) as there are today (USA, EU, Russia, OPEC China, Japan India, South Korea, etc.) with interconnected trade routes and sophisticated supporting webs of financial institutions and diplomatic correspondence stretching from Cornwall to Cyprus to Afghanistan. Like our world i...

Cat losing hair on back of legs

3h ago

USA, 4 yo neutered male, not a minor, vet accessible but haven’t reached out, and yet would rather not spend money for tests that result in “we don’t know”. Hi there. My cat has been steadily losing hair on his legs for almost as long as I’ve had him. It was only on his back legs, and when I looked it up I found that it could be common if cats were on hard surfaces often. Plus, he never was bothered by it (no licking, itching, irritation, etc). Mid to late last year, he had to spend time at the vet because he kept throwing up, having gas, and diarrhea. He was diagnosed with IBS/IBD and had grown intolerant to his wet food. He got meds, prescribed a hydrolyzed hard food I get eve...

If you could create the perfect country…

If you could create your perfect country to live in, and you had to pick elements from existing countries, what would you choose from each? For example, for me I’d like the following: Laws/Government - Switzerland Environment/Geography - USA People/Customs - Brazil Food - Argentina
