I’ve always wondered why in places like the USA, Canada, and parts of Europe, eating insects is seen as gross or weird, while it’s totally normal in many other cultures. I personally come from multiple backgrounds where insects are part of traditional dishes, and I’ve tried them—they taste really good! The first time I had insects, they were in a tomato-based sauce and tasted great. I don’t get why there’s such a strong “yuck” reaction in the West. A few points that confuse me: 1. Over 2 billion people worldwide eat insects regularly. I’d bet more countries eat insects than don’t. 2. I’m afraid of some insects too, but I’d happily eat fried grasshoppers or crickets...
