Hi all! I’m pretty new to basket weaving. I’ve woven maybe 3 baskets successfully. My question for the community - where do you get your materials? I’ve been buying reed from a local business (The Country Seat, Inc) here in PA, USA, but it’s fairly expensive, or so I think. I didn’t know if their prices are on par with others, or where they stand. I’ve attached a pic of a basket that I’ve woven (my favorite one so far). This is just a hobby on the side that I do, and I know it’s not perfect - please don’t come at me for my imperfections - I’m learning!

Not general speaking but the explicit guidelines and helpful advice you wish you got when you started. There’s so much generic advice. Do you eat meat? Avoid meat? Is rice good, as a base? Mostly unprocessed I know but how do you do tha in the USA where the food culture is vastly different? I can’t just get a freshly baked loaf of perfect bread every day before work as I start at 7 and there’s no such magical bakery lol I wish. My cat had some intense vomiting and nausea for a couple days. The vet really wants him on a bland diet but legitimately the only thing he’ll eat is his old food. I tried the prescription food they gave, boiled chicken, and yet he will only eat his food. I haven’t fed him a lot of it. He’s only had 3 tablespoons today, whereas yesterday and this morning he will sniff the chicken and walk away. He’s also taken up licking up all the broth and leaving the meat.
