Hannibal is the Apex predator of the human species.

35m ago

Heyy so iam on my idk how manyeth rewatch and I think that not only can hannibal be viewed as the devil taking human form but also as the apex predator of humans. Hannibal sits at the top he is more than bored he feels no genuine connection etc. The way it seems hannibal lecter is the smartest person in any room he is deeply intellectual. And cultivated a perfect persona. But that's not hannibal ofvourse he likes refined tastes but from everything we see of him he seems more like a predator than a regular human. He has implacable hearing and is implied to habe perfect pitch. He has perfect smell And can even detect the state of fear or sickness which is definetly usefull as ...

Capitalism forces us to work for what is already ours.

1h ago

How do Capitalists charge us for what is ours? Things that nature gives freely, such as water; Capitalism charges us for transporting that water to us and even ban us from collecting our own water in many locales. We are not defined by what capitalism requires us to do to survive. We are not required to earn a living by nature; we are enslaved by Capital which charges us a "cost of living". Food grows freely within nature. But Capital controls the food supply and charges us for what is normally growing all over the planet. Medicine grows freely within nature. But Capital bans natural holistic cures and sells us chemical formulations that cause extensive harm alongside any ...

Why are Mcdonald's food prices in morocco the same as USA ? Even though the wages are than 10 times cheaper in moro...

2h ago

I've notices recently that Mcdonald's food prices do not adapt to the country. They dont lower prices for cheap labor, and still a lot of people buy from them all the time, and honestly the prices are not affordable for the average person. Any idea why they exploit cheap labor and dont lower prices ? NB : in USA the hourly wage is around 12$ - 17$ and in morocco its about 1.5$

divorce

2h ago

I feel like Reddit’s answer to everything and what gets a million upvotes is a quick “divorce” without realizing how complicated and unaffordable it is for moms. How do you afford daycare for more than one kid, plus rent, expensive health insurance, plus food and formula on one income? How do you afford the lawyer fees? Especially when you have no village or help? It’s so easy to just quickly type divorce and feel like you solved the big bad problem, but you didn’t. I think most of us know that’s the answer, but deep down know how much more nuanced and complex it is with small children, the complete lack of a village and non existent government support in the USA. I think a lot o...

[Discussion] Furry Worries - Week 446

2h ago

Hey furries, u/The-Woop hasn't made one of these in a little bit. I've always liked these posts so I thought that I'd help him out again by taking over until he gets back. Users have sometimes stated that it is difficult to express their sorrows or misfortunes on this sub because they do not want to feel burdensome or unwelcome in what is normally a very happy-go-lucky environment. And so, this thread is to encourage furs to open up with their issues, not only on here but on the sub as a whole. If grief has been on your mind or something has been bothering you as of late, big or small, please leave a comment for myself and others to see if we can be of any help, or at least l...

Can I get enough glycine for GlyNAC from Magnesium Glycinate?

2h ago

I’m currently taking a bottle of NAC (N-acetyl cysteine) and I’ve read that it’s best paired with glycine. I also take a dose of magnesium glycinate at the same time (8 am and 4 pm) as the NAC. Is this sufficient or do I need to separately add more glycine? I’m on so many supps already, it tires me to think about swallowing one more, let alone purchasing. There’s also no indication of how much glycine I’m getting on the label of the magnesium glycinate. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

The History of America’s “World’s Largest” Roadside Attractions

3h ago

The giant gorilla wasn’t built for Instagram. The 40-foot strawberry wasn’t created for social media. The massive frying pan didn’t go up because someone thought, “This will trend.” These oversized roadside attractions were born from something far more strategic. Competition. Community pride. And the simple truth that bigger gets noticed. To understand why America is filled with giant statues, oversized animals, and monumental everyday objects, we have to go back nearly 100 years to the rise of automobile travel and the birth of highway culture. Let’s rewind. **The Birth of Roadside Americana** In the early 20th century, cars changed everything. Travel was no longer li...

Hockey rink updates!

3h ago

Food situation seems to be figured out. There was still plenty available at 2nd intermission and lines were similar to an NHL game both before game and at intermission. Entry and exit was very smooth from USA vs Denmark. Tons of shuttle busses to get you to the train station which was a bottleneck until they just opened the gates (to a big cheer). They did run out of TP the women’s rooms sometime during the 2nd so ladies bring some tissues. All in all an A+ experience and much less of a hassle than I expected. Leave lots of time to get there and don’t expect uber to be available.

1999 - tamil (diaspora) cinema beyond kodambakkam

3h ago

there is an isolation within the frames of 1999 (a 2009 tamil canadian film). streets and restaurants and suburban housing and roads and the woods of toronto lie bare without signs of life beyond the central characters. for one, this can be a direct consequence of the low budget filmmaking on display. made by lenin m. sivam using the 10k dollar limit on his credit card, the film has all the hallmarks of a low-budget student film-like debut. noisy dslr filmmaking, locations that seem like their regular hangout spots in real life and actors who might be cast because the filmmaker happens to know them personally. but there is intent in that isolation. the men we see in 1999 are all isolated in ...

Apes and the Epstein Files - The Jefferies Predicament

# Recap So Far: This started out with a post that noticed [Apes were validated](https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/1qs4irp/calling_all_apes_to_page_6/) in catching the market corruption. It then evolved into reading through the Dilorio Emails to figure out [why they were included](https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/1qtdjub/apes_and_the_files_a_meta_overview/) in the Epstein Files and it eventually evolved into the [Milken tree of financial corruption](https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/1qwvb05/apes_and_the_epstein_files_the_dilorio_emails_and/). We left off at the idea that Jefferies is in unique position regarding GME. # Jefferies Corporate Organization In...

Two prizes I won in the rifle shooting game in the food court of the Taipei National Science Center today:

4h ago

Today I went around the food court of Taipei National Science Center and I played a rifle shooting game where you have to shoot down whatever objects you see to win them and use corks as bullets and they fire via air being charged by the bolt in your bolt action rifle. And while I was unable to shoot down a My Melody figurine, a big Mickey Mouse head, a small cooling fan gun, and a mini toy gun, I still managed to get the two prizes I cared about most as far as being in this island country and part of the world goes and that’s Doraemon and Hello Kitty, but moreso the former since 2023/2024, I’ve been hard shifting from Sanrio and gravitating towards Fujiko Fujio and other classic kodom...

Small parts

New to Reddit so I’m not sure how it really works yet, but I’m hoping to get advice or opinions on something I’ve been tossing around the last week or so… with the climate in the US right now and all the things coming out with the Epstein files I have this over whelming feeling of just disgust and hopelessness. I’m a mom of 3 little girls and… idk how we’re not all collectively losing our ****..I digress. Talking to people about this, and I’m seeing some connection between just lack of education or grasp on basic knowledge and peoples stance on what’s going on. I see it all overwhelmingly in my own extended family where education was never really a priority. I am by far not...
