Please help! I’ve been trying to help my cat gain weight ever since I noticed that her butt seemed to be a bit bonier than usual. Last Saturday, I made an appointment at the vet to get my cat’s teeth cleaned. That day, she also happened to stop eating. Various businesses (Restaurants, bakeries, etc) will post greatly discounted food bags that you pick up during designated hours (usually the end of the day, but some places close earlier ie bakeries so pick up times do vary.) The bags contain excess food that would otherwise go to waste. You don’t necessarily get a choice in the kind of food you receive, but it never hurts to ask nicely and they may accommodate you. I go to a local bakery and since they make both regular and gluten free items, the owner is very nice and lets me get all gluten free stuff. I’m bringing home my first girl in May- she’s 2.5 and has been freefed this food her entire life. It looks like a great kibble, organic, decent sourcing, but I’m curious what your opinion is on the macros and if there is a raw diet or less processed food you think would be even better for her? I live next to a mudbay so maybe if there’s a brand from there you recommend? Of course weaning her slowly and not right after she comes home. She does best with lamb, salmon, and bison from what her previous owner said. Also any supplements you recommend? I was thinking kelp for her teeth and freeze dried liver treats.
