This might sound ******, but I often end up closing douyin or xhs after scrolling because it genuinely makes me feel bad about my body. Whenever I watch Chinese content, I can’t help noticing how slim the girls are to the point where they’d be considered extremely thin in my country. Flat stomachs, long thin legs, everything. It makes me wonder how that’s even possible. Is it genetics? The food they eat? Some kind of strict diet? Or is it just editing and filters? I honestly haven’t seen many Chinese people online or even in real life who look chubby or fat, so it starts to mess with my head. Am I just bigger than average, or are they unusually skinny? Hello! My elderly (17yo) cat has had a limp for the last day or so. He fell backwards trying to jump up onto a chair \~1.5ft yesterday, and has been walking with a limp since then. He has been understandably not moving much in the past day, and I have been carrying him around the house to get food/water, lifting him up and down from places he wants to go.
