IMPERFECT FOODS Locations

Hey, I (22, USA, owner of 3.5 y.o female cat) took my cat to the vet a week ago and she was diagnosed with bladder stones. She was confirmed to not have a UTI. They sent me home with a prescription diet food for urinary stones + prevention. I had another visit scheduled a month out per their recommendation, to determine if surgery is necessary. She hasn’t improved, and stopped eating 2 days ago. I’m taking her to the vet in the morning. I’m new to all of this, and of course broke, so any and all advice is much appreciated. I want to advocate for myself and my cat, but unsure of how to go about it. Thanks.

I (28, USA) have three cats. The one I am concerned about (8y/o neutered male) has put on quite a bit of weight over the last few years. My cats have always been free fed (I know it’s not ideal) and kept healthy weights but my big guy just has no self control when it comes to food anymore. I moved recently and have not found vet care in my new town but it is top priority when I get settled. I am wondering if anyone has ever transitioned their cats from free feeding to measured meals and how they did this. I noticed yesterday my cat has black crust around his mouth. Google is suggesting cat acne, but I’m not too convinced as it looks more severe than any acne I’ve seen.
