So I like to get Tyson chicken fries every month and usually I get four bags so it lasts me the month. But the past few days I've eaten any I've felt queasy afterward. This is one of my safe foods, like one of the main ones since I can't cook for myself. I wouldn't be too worried if I could find these white castle chicken rings I used to get a few months back, but my local walmarts don't seem to sell them in store anymore but list them online. So I had a “cheat day” for the first time in weeks. I use air quotes bc I was still in a (smaller) deficit, but the food itself wasn’t nutritious and the macros were a body builder’s worst nightmare. I’m a sucker for greasy fast food and White Castle in particular has always been a guilty pleasure. But man, it tasted so bad today, to the point where I couldn’t even finish it. Not even the mozzarella sticks! And I normally LOVE mozzarella sticks! I swear I could only taste stale oil and the suggestion of flavor. I guess this is what several weeks of “clean” eating does to a person. 🫤 I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I wish I’d had a salad instead.

It’s an industry that is a backbone of our society, yet get portrayed too often as undesirable “crappy” jobs or a stepping stone while somebody figures their life out. I like when media focuses on the moment and how a character acts while in that role, having adventures involving the work or after shifts. I have some other examples about good representation of working-class people but this post is about cooks/servers/hotel staff and restaurant owners, I threw in Harold and Kumar because they earnestly love White Castle and never make a cheap “if I don’t study I’ll end up flipping burgers” joke.

McDonald's... Wendys.. the royal couple...Burger king and dairy queen... Taco bell or time... you can even "like" pizza hut or dominos... What do YOU think it is?? I'm sorry to be blunt...but its Wendy's.. fresh fries, good burgers, frostys .. McDonald's is a close second because it hasn't changed its taste in 40 years... Wife is on a trip with her girlfriends so it’s just me and our 3 year old son for a few days. We’ve been having a great time so far, he’s overall a joy to take care of and it’s been good for both of us to have this time together. The first day after putting him down for the night I ate a pint of Ben and Jerry’s, 10 White Castles, and had a beer while watching some shows. That was probably too much.
