There’s a different version, with the diagonal flaps on front that lists water resistant, but this one doesn’t it seems… https://www.uniqlo.com/au/en/products/E474894-000/00?colorDisplayCode=09&sizeDisplayCode=003 I’m off to the UK next month and need a jacket that’s wind and water resistant and I though this one was, but in looking at it online now it seems I might have read the sign wrong when I was in store… It’s been challenging trying to find a raincoat in the peak of summer lol, and I thought I’d found a winner! (Travel Policies)All you should know about China's tax refund policy and why you should NOT get too excited about i...11d agoIf you are planning your trip to China, you probably have read about China’s tax refund policy; or if you are already in China, you might have noticed the blue ‘Tax Free’ signs at street-side shops or in shopping malls. China offers 9% cash back to foreign tourists who spend money in tax refund shops as an incentive. It is estimated that **30% to 40% people failed** to claim tax refund either due to failing to complete the process, or simply gave up due to the "clunky" nature of the paperwork. This article is all you need to know on this policy. # 1. Objective and background of the tax refund policy The objective of the tax refund policy is twofold: 1. The Chinese govern... 2 weeks in the UK and partial one bagging19d agoSeeking feedback on my 2-week UK trip packing list (10 days backpack only). Long-time lurker, first-time poster! I'm heading to the UK in late April/early May for 2 weeks (fying from Australia into and out of London with a suitcase, but I'll be backpacking for 10 days with my luggage stored in London). This gives me flexibility to pack some items from home and make more weather based choices for the backpack portion while I'm there. Trip overview: London, then backpacking for a wedding in Bristol, Inverness (2 nights), Edinburgh (3 nights), York (1 night), then back to London. Most stops are 1-3 nights, mostly city-based activities, plus Arthur's Seat hike and a seabir... Why Japan in Winter 2026 is Better Than Summer (Snow Monkeys, Onsen & Fewer Crowds)20d agoI just got back from three weeks in Japan (Jan–Feb 2026), and I need to confess something that feels borderline heretical on Reddit: **winter Japan absolutely wrecked summer Japan for me**. I’ve done Japan in August before. I melted. I smelled like regret by 10 a.m. This time? Snow crunching under boots, steam rising off outdoor onsen, and whole temples to myself while my nose tried (and failed) to survive the cold. It wasn’t perfect. I messed up plenty. But man… it felt *human*. # Landing in Tokyo: cold air, hot ramen, instant joy I landed at Haneda on a gray January afternoon. The second those automatic doors slid open, I got hit with crisp air that smelled faintly like sea salt... Anyone seen this scarf in the UK?34d agoHas anyone seen this green scarf in any stores across the UK? The app says it’s sold out in all colours but I found the navy and also the gloves they said were sold out. Please help - I will travel for this scarf! If you see it on any of your shopping trips, please let me know. Thank you so much! Returned parcel but no refund42d agoSo I returned a parcel on an item costing 139.9£. All per the terms and conditions. The item was delivered per the royal mail. I kept proof of the return from the post office. Customer service said they would refund me and proceed with the manual refund. I also got several confirmations through call. In the end they refused for no reason. I suspect it was because of the high price. They said to contact citizen advice. So yes I wouldn't buy things from uniqlo uk online. Maybe if you buy in store is a safer bet because you can return it in store. But if you buy online and you return online they, if they dont find it in their warehouse or is lost its on you. Crazy stuff. I will nev... I've used the bra calculator and feel it's pretty inaccurate for cup size, need recommendations please help!59d agoI used the calculator on here and there is absolutely no way it's correct. I have "medium" sized ***** and it says 34DDD for US size and 34 E in UK 😐 I'm a 36C (although I've lost a little bit of weight and haven't bought a new bra in forever so maybe 34C) The most recent bra I bought was a couple years ago so I'm sure that doesn't help 😂 Basically gave up and live in sports bras now. The brand of bra I have currently is truekind in size M and I really like it except my ***** "move around" for lack of a better explanation, but not bc it's super loose. Like I will have to readjust so my ***** are back in the middle or it migrates to... Seasonal work in London72d agoHi! I have applied to seasonal work in London uniqlo including Spitalfields, Stratford Westfield and Oxford street. I will be down from med school next week and really want to work but havent heard back. I have contacted the email they provided 6 times for over 2 weeks with no response (also customer service). Additionally, I have tried to find in store contacts and there is none. I would go in stores next week when I am down but not sure how recruitment works or if the stores would be able to help me. Does anyone have any advise or alternative contacts for Europe/UK HR? Returning an item that I bought full price cuz it’s now on sale73d agoFor UK folks: I bought a jumper this week in store with the full price £34.90 and found out it is now reduced to £24.90. I went to the store today and wanted to get a refund, then repurchase again. Unfortunately, the staff told me that they could only return the current price of the item, but not the amount I paid. He said it’s all written at the back of the receipt, but it seems to say the otherwise on their website. Does anyone has a similar experience? My honest thoughts on Superdry jackets after reading tons of reviews and wearing one myself91d agoI bought a Superdry jacket last year and wanted to share my experience with anyone considering one. I spent time reading reviews on different sites and forums before buying, so here's what I found. First off, the warmth factor is real. My jacket keeps me warm in cold weather, and many users say the same thing. The **puffer styles** especially get praise for being **super warm** without feeling bulky. I wear mine for school runs and casual outings, and it does the job well. **Read In Depth Review Here -** [**https://innerbeauty.blog/superdry-jacket-review/**](https://innerbeauty.blog/superdry-jacket-review/) The quality seems split into two camps. People who bought jackets 5-10 years ... Successful HPI Application + Tips | US to UK | Fall 2025104d agoSo grateful and relieved that the process is done and happy to say that I've received an HPI visa + have been living in England for the past week! Dropping my timelines and experience in case it helps any one, and thank you to the others in this subreddit who have done the same. It helped so much with my HPI application process and anxiety! **Notes:** * I'm an American citizen + American university graduate not near my 5 year date * There was a large delay in the application process in September due to personal life events; without those gaps my visa process took approx 3-4 weeks **Timeline:** * August 20th: applied for ECCTIS * August 21st: ID verified * August 22nd: * s... I'm 26, make $55,000 as a paralegal in NYC, and spent $4,173 on another solo trip to Japan!107d agoHi all! I've loved writing MDs (see my [2023 diary](https://www.reddit.com/r/MoneyDiariesACTIVE/comments/12alqou/i_am_23_years_old_make_48000_as_a_paralegal_in/), [2024 Japan travel diary](https://www.reddit.com/r/MoneyDiariesACTIVE/comments/1bvtdo7/im_24_make_50000_as_a_paralegal_in_nyc_and_spent/), and [2025 diary](https://www.reddit.com/r/MoneyDiariesACTIVE/comments/1k4gbzk/im_25_make_55000_as_a_paralegal_in_nyc_and_this/)), so I'm back for more! I had a blast on my first solo trip, and was dead-set on doing a Barcelona solo trip this year using all my credit card points. After looking at flights, I saw they cost a ton (80,000 points for a $700 flight??? insanity), found great ... Uniqlo deal hacks111d agoHi everyone. I am slightly shamefully seeking some frugal hacks. I haven't not been in a position to buy myself any new clothes this year and I found myself in London this week (I'm UK based) and I stepped into the Uniqlo store near spitalfields market and I fell in love. I'm going to save up and find some wardrobe staples for the winter (like the brushed jersey wide leg trousers - those felt like a dream). I can see you can get some deals by setting up an account, getting the app etc. but I thought I would reach out to this community in case there was a deal I was missing out on? How do you get the most value for money, plus anyone have any hero recommendations for women? T... What is the largest size in-store in the UK?119d agoMy husband is a big guy and wears Uniqlo size XXL. We went to our local Uniqlo in the Netherlands yesterday and were very disappointed that they only stock up to XL. He took photos of the tags of the things he liked and was going to order them online, but we'll be visiting the UK for a few days and wanted to check first if we could buy things in XXL there, but I couldn't find any info online Women's must haves, what is it that you always buy?126d agoSo I'm going to the opening of the Birmingham, UK store on Thursday and I was speaking about it with my girlfriend. She said she'd never heard of Uniqlo before she met me. And I said if get her something. So what piece do you think represents Uniqlo at it's best? Is there something that you always buy or is always a hit? Is there anything that you rave about to all your friends? As a bonus what is the sizing like for women's clothes? Thank you in advance. Transmasc nonbinary person (re)building a masc wardrobe?129d agoBeen reading this sub and its guides for a long time. I had top surgery earlier this year. Now finally getting to quit camouflaging a body I didn't feel right in, stop buying massively oversized clothes, and build a more coherent wardrobe. My goal here is to mix more masc pieces with my existing femme ones to get to a "slightly fruity guy shops both sides of the store" vibe. Asking MFA as I'm trying to learn how to dude, but if this is too far afield for this sub, let me know :) ***Big question***\*\*:\*\* I'd really like help identifying some of the gaps in my wardrobe. I can't buy everything at once, but what should I prioritize finding/adding, to be able to ... 21 Day itinerary - Hiroshima start.136d agoThis is our first trip to Japan: we’re flying from the UK to Hong Kong for a few days of hiking (which may affect our early days in Japan due to fatigue), then onward to Japan. I wanted to visit Jigokudani Yaen-Koen to see snow monkeys in the onsen, but the Shiga Kogen route is closed when when we go Nov 19 (Day 17), would have slept in Yudanaka and I’m unsure if late-autumn temps will be cold enough for them to bathe. If it’s viable, we’d do one night in Kusatsu and one in Yudanaka, renting a car to drive there. But it feels like too much for a first visit with low odds of success. I could still get a 1949 International Driving Permit. Alternative from my original plan: Fujikawag... Louis Phillips is slower than the winner but a whole lot richer. Do you think is it ****** idea to visit the store that I already applied 3 days ago and ask if I could have a talk with ...154d agoHello, 3 days ago, I saw a job advert (Temporary Sales Assistant) that posted on the same day, and I applied it. Location is in the UK. I am considering to visit the store that I applied, and ask the staff if I could have a quick chat with the store manager and express my willingness to work for Uniqlo. Do you think is this ****** idea to visit the store that I applied? I have experience to got hired from the supermarket with just visiting the store and ask if they could hire me, and it actually worked. I really want to work at Uniqlo, which is part of my daily life, as I really like the quality of products. How do you guys think this idea? My father always said knock the door, and the ... How does alteration process work in store UK? Wide chinos product159d agoBought some of the wide chinos a few days back, love them and the colour but want them a little bit shorter, barely 2 inches. Can I just take them in with the fold where I want it or do I need to wear them for them to do the pins etc? Is very small alterations possible? How obvious/visible do they tend to look after?
