Currently in the process of moving into my truck after my sister bought me out of my late mother's house. I've got a season of guiding in Alaska and then absolutely no idea where I'm going to live so I'm trying to reduce everything that I need to store somewhere. AMA: Worked in Uniqlo London Store Ops (Sep 21 - Sep 23)

6d ago

I worked in store operations at UNIQLO London from September 2021 to September 2023. Saw pretty much everything behind the scenes so ask me anything. Happy to spill all the secrets lol. Just a disclaimer - I can only speak on UNIQLO UK and my knowledge stops at Sep 2023, so if anything’s changed since then I probably won’t know!

Japan Golden Route Travel - My Advice, Final Thoughts, and Full Itinerary for Inspiration.

7d ago

Hey all. Just returned from Japan a few days ago after a 2 week trip and wanted to provide a SitRep and some advice and itinerary ideas for those looking to travel. This is a very comprehensive guide and itinerary I wrote out *by hand. Not written by AI.* A few things to note beforehand. \- This was an entirely solo trip. My friend was supposed to come, but he already went to Aruba and couldn't afford another long haul trip in the same year while he pursues his masters degree. \- I've been through Asia in general about 4 times, so I'm familiar with many of the commonalities out there. (looking at you 7-Eleven). \- Much of my itinerary came from inspiration from reddit, so y...

2026 Semi-final 1: Why your favourite will make it (and why they might not)

10d ago

It's been a tumultuous calendar year for Eurovision, but we've arrived at the glitz, glamour and pure madness of Eurovision week. Soon, we'll be sitting down to enjoy seventeen top end performances, cringing our way through some inevitably wooden host 'humour', and giving our nails a nervous nibble as we at last discover which ten song's we'll be hearing on replay on Saturday, and which five countries will be left feeling 'Sólo quiero más'. For now, as has become [annual tradition](https://www.reddit.com/r/eurovision/comments/1kliumd/2025_semifinal_1_why_your_favourite_will_make_it/), it's time for a tongue-in-cheek write up about tonight&#...

Iceland money saving tips for Indians

12d ago

I recently visited Iceland for 12 days with my husband and would like to share some insights on saving money focused on fellow Indians. Food - Food in general is 5-10x costlier than most expensive city in India. Eg: 1 egg costs around Rs. 50 - 70. So bring ready to eat meals. We were camping. We had a small stove and some utensils to cook, so we were able to do some basic cooking but preparing elaborate meals is a bit difficult especially if you are camping or staying in a shared accommodation because not all camping sites have a proper kitchen, shared kitchen means you are sharing it with other campers and some days are quite windy for cooking outside. We brought this stove windscreen. it...

Post trip report - 28th March to 12th April

37d ago

Background: We are a family of 4 - 41M, 40F, 6F and 7F from the UK. 2nd trip to Japan as a family (previously went to Osaka and Nagoya). Wife is fluent in Japanese and studied and worked in Osaka for many years. We travel to the Far East quite regularly. My family just got back home after an amazing 2 week trip to Tokyo. I tend to do a post trip "report" whenever we travel in the UK for r/uktravel to help others with ideas especially young families and figured I'd do the same for our recent trip. I'll briefly describe our daily activities and any highlights / lowlights. We are pretty chilled travellers, preferring to limit ourselves to one or two major activities per d...

Uniqlo Denim Jacket

74d ago

This is on the UK store These two jackets are the same right? I'm not going mental? I saw the one on the woman a bit ago but couldn't find it anywhere. Just found the one on the guy today I really wanted to get it but the one on the guy seems brighter. I really preferred the darker shade that the woman is wearing so I'm kind of disappointed. I'm not really into that bright blue sort of denim but I love the washed/grey-blue colour. I guess it's just different lighting that they've used or different editing style, boo.

Buy coats on aug-sept at Uniqlo

82d ago

Hi! I was looking for a long down coat at Uniqlo, like this one: https://www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/products/E478579-000/00 I was going to buy it since it's on sale right now, but I don't mind waiting until my trip to Japan later this year. I checked Uniqlo Japan and it is half the price there, but my trip is from August 17th to September 2nd. Do you think I could find winter coats at physical stores during that time of year? Or is it better to buy it now while it's on sale? Thank you!

Trip Report: 9 Days Visiting Family November

Pic 1 is me at the airport, the pink item in background is the stuffable neck pillow Pic 2 is the bag under the seat of an American Airlines budget seat vertically Pic 3 same bag under the seat horizontally Pic 4 is me in the sweater I our house Pic 5 is the grocery store slippers still in use today Trip Report I know its late, but better late than never. I took a small 6 liter sling purse thingy for 9 days in NJ over Thanksgiving last November. It was visiting family, so I was able to go lightweight on the toiletries, access to laundry, and no public transportation was necessary. I am in-between bags at the moment, and it was getting down to the wire before I left. Rather than fin...

New customer sizing question

86d ago

Hi, I have seen recommendations for Uniqlo for short women and went to a shop to try their clothes on. They didn’t have a very big range but I did find some blue linen trousers I really like. However both the S and XS were too big. The guy in the changing room said that they only sell the XXS online. The online size guide for some of their items is also really confusing compared to other shops. I don’t like buying without trying clothes on, especially when the return policy charges for postage, so them not carrying any XXS in store is disappointing. I’m buying a new summer wardrobe because I have lost a lot of weight, so I don’t own another pair of trousers to compare the online me...

Trip Report: 23rd March - 9th April

88d ago

I posted in this sub last year getting some advice on my itinerary and finally decided to do a writeup of my trip report in hopes maybe it will help others! For context: I am 28NB (very visibly ***** & GNC) and I travelled with my sister who is 30F. I am gluten free (intolerant, not celiac) and tried to also eat vegan for as much of the trip as possible. I travelled from UK to Japan from 23/03-10/04 and spent time in the big 3 (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto) but did lots of day trips and had a ryokan experience in Nagano. My favourite things/places I've marked in the trip with a ⭐ **Tokyo Food:** * Gluten Free T's (vegan & gf) * T's Tantan (vegan) * Jasmine Thai Expr...

Uniqlo Jacket - Water Resistant?

97d ago

Does anyone have this Uniqlo Jacket and can confirm if it’s water resistant? There’s a different version, with the diagonal flaps on front that lists water resistant, but this one doesn’t it seems… https://www.uniqlo.com/au/en/products/E474894-000/00?colorDisplayCode=09&sizeDisplayCode=003 I’m off to the UK next month and need a jacket that’s wind and water resistant and I though this one was, but in looking at it online now it seems I might have read the sign wrong when I was in store… It’s been challenging trying to find a raincoat in the peak of summer lol, and I thought I’d found a winner!

(Travel Policies)All you should know about China's tax refund policy and why you should NOT get too excited about i...

107d ago

If you are planning your trip to China, you probably have read about China’s tax refund policy; or if you are already in China, you might have noticed the blue ‘Tax Free’ signs at street-side shops or in shopping malls. China offers 9% cash back to foreign tourists who spend money in tax refund shops as an incentive. It is estimated that **30% to 40% people failed** to claim tax refund either due to failing to complete the process, or simply gave up due to the "clunky" nature of the paperwork. This article is all you need to know on this policy. # 1. Objective and background of the tax refund policy The objective of the tax refund policy is twofold: 1. The Chinese govern...

2 weeks in the UK and partial one bagging

115d ago

Seeking feedback on my 2-week UK trip packing list (10 days backpack only). Long-time lurker, first-time poster! I'm heading to the UK in late April/early May for 2 weeks (fying from Australia into and out of London with a suitcase, but I'll be backpacking for 10 days with my luggage stored in London). This gives me flexibility to pack some items from home and make more weather based choices for the backpack portion while I'm there. Trip overview: London, then backpacking for a wedding in Bristol, Inverness (2 nights), Edinburgh (3 nights), York (1 night), then back to London. Most stops are 1-3 nights, mostly city-based activities, plus Arthur's Seat hike and a seabir...

Why Japan in Winter 2026 is Better Than Summer (Snow Monkeys, Onsen & Fewer Crowds)

116d ago

I just got back from three weeks in Japan (Jan–Feb 2026), and I need to confess something that feels borderline heretical on Reddit: **winter Japan absolutely wrecked summer Japan for me**. I’ve done Japan in August before. I melted. I smelled like regret by 10 a.m. This time? Snow crunching under boots, steam rising off outdoor onsen, and whole temples to myself while my nose tried (and failed) to survive the cold. It wasn’t perfect. I messed up plenty. But man… it felt *human*. # Landing in Tokyo: cold air, hot ramen, instant joy I landed at Haneda on a gray January afternoon. The second those automatic doors slid open, I got hit with crisp air that smelled faintly like sea salt...

Anyone seen this scarf in the UK?

130d ago

Has anyone seen this green scarf in any stores across the UK? The app says it’s sold out in all colours but I found the navy and also the gloves they said were sold out. Please help - I will travel for this scarf! If you see it on any of your shopping trips, please let me know. Thank you so much!

Returned parcel but no refund

138d ago

So I returned a parcel on an item costing 139.9£. All per the terms and conditions. The item was delivered per the royal mail. I kept proof of the return from the post office. Customer service said they would refund me and proceed with the manual refund. I also got several confirmations through call. In the end they refused for no reason. I suspect it was because of the high price. They said to contact citizen advice. So yes I wouldn't buy things from uniqlo uk online. Maybe if you buy in store is a safer bet because you can return it in store. But if you buy online and you return online they, if they dont find it in their warehouse or is lost its on you. Crazy stuff. I will nev...

I've used the bra calculator and feel it's pretty inaccurate for cup size, need recommendations please help!

155d ago

I used the calculator on here and there is absolutely no way it's correct. I have "medium" sized ***** and it says 34DDD for US size and 34 E in UK 😐 I'm a 36C (although I've lost a little bit of weight and haven't bought a new bra in forever so maybe 34C) The most recent bra I bought was a couple years ago so I'm sure that doesn't help 😂 Basically gave up and live in sports bras now. The brand of bra I have currently is truekind in size M and I really like it except my ***** "move around" for lack of a better explanation, but not bc it's super loose. Like I will have to readjust so my ***** are back in the middle or it migrates to...
