I'm on the Communication and Interior Design team and I'm looking for good display inspo, and I just happened to be vacationing in San Diego. I've already visited the San Diego store and East Palo Alto is my home store. Which is a good one to check out on the way home? I've heard good things about the Burbank location, but whichever has the coolest displays.

I took this drop-leaf table from my grandmother after she passed because I had a lot of fond memories eating at it with her. My mother believes it was from the first Ikea store that opened in the United States. I have not been able to find any markings on it to indicate who made it and have not spotted it in any of the historic Ikea catalogs. I have seen so many people moving to the Charleston area but we have yet to see any plans for an IKEA to open nearby. I know the population has to hit a certain amount before we get one - 2 million in a 40-60 mile radius - but I feel like if we combine North Charleston, Charleston, James Island, Mt Pleasant, Goose Creek, Ladson, and Summerville, we probably reach that number, or we're close to it. I could be wrong, but I would love an IKEA here. Driving 3 and a half hours to Charlotte or 4ish hours to Jacksonville just for IKEA can be a lot, especially when carrying bigger items. 😂

I discolored the surface of my TORNVIKEN kitchen island with some cleaning supplies by accident, and I am looking to understand the best stain, oil, or sealant to re-finish it after sanding. The STOCKARYD treatment oil is not available at any of my local IKEA stores (location USA) and cannot be ordered for shipment; is there another recommended or non-IKEA treatment oil to use for this? I don't use it for direct food preparation - I always use cutting boards, etc - but want to make sure it is sealed up right. I recently moved and couldn't take my old bookshelves with me, so now I have the task of getting myself some new ones. IKEA’s Daim cake by the Almondy brand is my favorite cake ever! I tried to contact ikea to figure out what’s going on as they haven’t been selling it for a while, but every time I call their customer service they tell me it is in stock. That’s not true! So I figured I’d go straight to the source and ask the manufacturer. This is my response from them as proof. The top part of the message acknowledged that they haven’t been selling it since last year. If anyone else out there loves this cake as much as I do, we will get it back soon!
