Warranty repair declined

16h ago

I’ve had to decline a warranty repair as they wanted to charge me £500. When I rang them they couldn’t tell me why and all the details I have about it are on this picture. The issue is the phone wouldn’t power on. Anyone else had this?

EE broadband customers can add EE TV with entertainment packs at a discount. EE Fibre Broadband, Weird speed issues with routers.

20d ago

OK, I've been with EE for years & no issues. Three weeks ago the following started to happen. Initially using a [BT Smart Hub 2](https://www.bt.com/help/broadband/learn-about-broadband/different-types-of-bt-hub) connected to an [ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8)](https://www.asus.com/us/networking-iot-servers/whole-home-mesh-wifi-system/zenwifi-wifi-systems/asus-zenwifi-ax-xt8/) So basically fibre box in the living room connected to the WAN port on the BT router via an ethernet cable, then another ethernet cable connecting the BT router to the WAN port on the ASUS, then the ASUS connected to the back of my PC via anther ethernet cable, all worked fine f...

Stolen/Lost device??

24d ago

Hi everyone, unsure what to do here.. I brought a device today from cash converters and I got home and was under the impression it was unlocked. Turns out it’s locked to EE (luckily I’m with them) put my SIM into it and no service so I thought fine let me try unlock it. Flagged as stolen/lost I have a couple of questions • Has this ever happened to anyone who’s purchased a device from cash converters? • How would I go about approaching them about this? • What should I do? I mainly brought the device for just google pay since Apple Pay as issues with my card… • would it be safe to still link my card and bank account to the device? This isn’t anyway slandering cash conv...

Our EE TV package only contained one TV Box Pro. Seeking potential solutions

34d ago

I currently live with my (elderly) parents who struggle a bit with technology. They've recently made the switch from Virgin Media to EE, because Virgin were frankly ripping them off. On their old package they were paying around £130/month for 250 Mbps fibre, digital TV in two rooms and a landline. They've also had really bad experiences with Virgin's customer service in the last few years. The new EE package by comparison is less than half the price for 900 Mbps broadband, Now TV, Discovery+ and Netflix. We've ditched the landline because all we've had were robocalls and scammers ringing us. The TV part of the deal is where we're having issues. Our previous ...

Are people aware of the 8gb trail, the sales guy told me about it today ?

[https://ee.co.uk/broadband/xgs-pon-trial](https://ee.co.uk/broadband/xgs-pon-trial) It’s interesting that 8 Gb down still only 800 mb upload not true symmetrical, but still a good change.

“Priority coverage in busy areas”

51d ago

I sometimes struggle with 4G speed in my apartment (city centre) and can’t seem to get any 5G signal (phone and contract support it). I am considering whether it’s worth upgrading my contract to one with the “Priority in busy areas” feature - in case the problem is that the mast near me is too contested. Does anyone have any experience of this, did you notice it make any difference after you changed to this kind of contract?

Anyone here tried the Travel eSIM (travelling to the UK) from EE? - looking for advice

68d ago

Hey everyone, I'll be visiting London soon and have been looking into various ESIM's. I am someone who uses a lot of data so upon looking through options, I found EE's travel esim meant for visitors to the UK (https://ee.co.uk/mobile/travel-esim-uk). Was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with it, and if not, how have you found your experience with regular EE in the london area?

FTTP 1.7Gbps stuck at 75Mbps

73d ago

I run a UniFi cloud fiber gateway, straight into my EE provided “ont”. PPPoE connection, been stable for a while (early adopter of this speed, cloud fiber a few months old now). Today, at approx 7:25 the connection drops, and I’m not stuck at no more than 75Mbps. This is testing using the built in speed test from the gateway, to servers which has always shown line speed. I get the same 75Mbps from devices behind the gateway. Restarted the Ont, gateway, switches and access points. As far as I can tell, locally performance (iPhone over over WiFi 7 to access points) I see 1Gbps. 2.5Gbps Ethernet, to the WAN is also 75Mbps top. Trying to get hold of EE, the are supposed to be callin...

Flint 2 into Openreach MK4 VDSL

79d ago

Hey, I have what I thought was a relatively straightforward question that I’m struggling to answer. I recently bought a Flint 2. I tried to plug it directly into my Openreach MK4 master socket via Ethernet. Upon doing so, the Flint 2 doesn’t recognise that there’s anything plugged into it. Instead, I’ve plugged my EE Smart Hub (SH20A) into the Openreach MK4 via an RJ11. This works fine, allowing me to turn WiFi off on the EE router and run an ethernet to the Flint 2. I wanted to do away with the EE router but am not sure if it’s possible. [This thread suggests it should be possible](https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Broadband-Landline/Flint-2-advice/td-p/1572426) but I’ve had no l...

EE Smart Hub 7 Pro (OpenWrt-based?) USB network share?

108d ago

According to EE help pages, the Smart Hub 7 Pro's USB port is only used for charging (https://ee.co.uk/help/device-help/ee-smart-hub-7-pro). In the previous hubs you could use this port to plug in an external drive and create a network share. Has anyone managed to get this working on the new hubs? Interestingly, under Windows Network, the Hub itself shows up as 'OpenWrt router' with Properties page pointing to https://openwrt.org/. Can anyone think of a way to hack into the internal Hub settings to enable USB network (SMB) share?

Do anyone have this plan? 30 - day plan choose when to renew?

113d ago

Has anyone got this plan? If I went for £10 (so I’ll be eligible for free 2GB boost right?) how does it work? Do I have to top up manually each month. Can I set up direct debit as this plan isn’t a rollover? If I went for saver plan it’s £9 but won’t be eligible for free boost. Thanks everybody :)

Is anyone else getting this? https://preview.redd.it/c2orzus4gk6g1.png?width=389&format=png&auto=webp&s=e835f5811e1bbdbf57985dc14e5be3cefc1300ed It's only on EE so I suspect it's an error on their website, but I thought I'd ask on here as the EE website is dreadful.
