Is there any other branch here?1d agoLongshot - Prudhoe Boots Pharmacy7d agoTaking a chance here. Does anyone know if Boots Pharmacy in Prudhoe is open now? I see Google Maps says 09:00 - 17:00. They are not answering their phone. Answering service selection menu says they are open. I am trying to check stock before I make the journey from Crawcrook. Their online stock check does not help. I'm looking for Co-codamol Am I eligible for a free flu vaccine?17d agoOkay so I’ve been given conflicting answers by different pharmacies. I have no medical conditions myself that make me eligible, however I live with my 69-year old mother who has severe COPD, she struggles with breathing and mobility due to her condition and receives PIP. I do class myself as her only carer, however this is not “official” and I do not claim Carer’s Allowance. My local pharmacy said I wasn’t eligible as I don’t claim Carer’s Allowance. However, today Boots pharmacy said I was eligible, but they don’t have any in stock. I asked my GP surgery and the receptionist didn’t seem to have a definite answer either, and they didn’t get back to me despite saying they ... URGENT 2 (maybe 3) rooms available in lovely student house for next academic year!21d agoHello everyone, we need to find three housemates for our house next year! It's a really nice 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom, two storey house, 25 minutes walk from UEA (New Costessey) with washer, dryer, separate lounge and garden. It’s a ten minute walk from a big Aldi and Boots pharmacy. There are 2 current flatmates, who are into DND and gaming. We're looking for people who are chill, friendly and clean for all of the next academic year. Rent varies by room but lowest is 130/week to highest at 150/week. Our landlord is lovely and has been really accomodating rentwise and with fixing issues. Please reply ASAP if you're interested, I can send pictures of the house -- *we need ... Nationwide medication shortage and new online system for GP leaving me without my medication for 5+ days.26d agoRepeat prescription ordered on Sunday, confirmed as received Monday, took my last pill Friday, visited nominated pharmacy Saturday to be told there's a nationwide shortage with Propranolol modified release tablets and no Boots pharmacy in the city has any stock. Numerous calls to non-Boots pharmacies, none have it in stock. Pharmacist cannot offer an alternative without a prescription, suggested calling 111. Called 111 to be told as it's an alternative medication, I have to speak to my GP. Can't phone the practice as it's online based now, submitted my request and it's not 2 working days wait time for a call back. Taken it 10+ years for anxiety, never missed a d... Traveling Post Menopause28d agoIn my olden days, I didn’t need to pack 2-3 products for my ****** when I went away. Now, my ****** gets its own travel pouch of lotions & potions & prescription estrogen. When I went to London from the US last year, I had way too much fun in the menopause / vaginal health section of a Boots pharmacy. It was so much better & so different than what I can find in my local drug store in the US. (Thank you, UK.) I’m going to Amsterdam for a week in a couple of weeks. What vaginal health products can / should I buy there? What do you travel with? Please help me find my friends childhood bear for sale?33d agoShe lost the bear on holiday when she was a young girl and I would love to know if anyone can find this bear for sale? I think it's from boots pharmacy and was sold around the 1980s Cystitis relief crystals64d agoFor those of you and the UK who are familiar with either the OTC Boots Pharmacy brand or the OTC CanesOasis brand (4 g granules diluted in water, 3 times/day for 2 days) can you please tell those of us who live in the US, who do not have access to this in our country: 1) How does this help alleviate the burning and stinging of a UTI, in other words, what is the mechanism of action? 2) And why is it that it can only be used for 48 hours for no more than 6 sachets, dissolved in water? What adverse impact would it have if someone used it more than 2 days? 3) Why is there a warning on the packaging that this cannot be used by men? I discovered these while in London. I think they’re a wonde... impossible to get birth control (again!)68d agomy second post in this sub about this. for context i’m on the transdermal evra patch and have been for 3 years. i’m f23 in the UK. in the past it has taken the GPs over a month to sort and organise my birth control prescriptions. because of this, i ask for more when i still have one box left. 1. asked my GP surgery for another prescription. the first lady told me it should be on repeat prescription and to ask their pharmacist to put it on repeat. 2. spoke to the pharmacist. he took all the details i already gave previously and said he would put it on repeat prescription. 3. was told by him that i shouldn’t have run out yet as it hasn’t been six months yet. i explained i still had a... I did it!!!68d agoWhere to get hrt from South East69d agoSo I had the call with imago and they said I can have HRT, I'm getting an online prescription for estrogen pills and testosterone blocker pills. Does anyone know if I can go where I can go to get them. Ive heard boots pharmacy can work. (Edit) I found a pharmacy and I finally have my hrt and am taking my first pill today So close!!!70d agoAdvice needed71d agoHi, hope this is the right place for my question: I requested (wed 15 Oct) my repeat prescription from my GP, who sent it to my Boots pharmacy the same day. Now in the NHS app it says that the pharmacist is preparing my medicine. The thing is I need it a bit fast; Monday morning because I'll be travelling abroad. Now I tried to call the pharmacist, but they don't answer. Is there any more I can do? Boots Pharmacy dispenser interview71d agoI had a positive experience during my interview last monday. The interviewer were agreeing on my answers and our conversation just flow. Its been 4 days since the interview and I haven’t received any updates yet and I checked on indeed and boots website the job listing has expired. Im very anxious as I do really want to work with them. Is this normal? My gp haven’t sent back SCA to P-UK but directly prescribed to me71d agoSo once EOTR has completed, shared care letter will be sent to your GP, once it’s agreed, they will prescribe for you. P-UK sent them a month ago and still no reply from my GP. But I received SMS that they prescribed repeat prescription. I went to the pharmacy to collect it, they didn’t have it, so I was told to go another pharmacy. I went to Boots pharmacy and they also didn’t have the stock, they requested for me. It’s been over 7 working days and still non received. So, my patience reached its limit as my stock of meds are running iut. I’ll send 3rd follow up to my gp and ask P-UK for follow up as well, that’s all I can do. I feel suspicious why they gave me a prescription but... 12 day England trip report88d agoMy first time in England, travelled with my partner and my MIL. We had a fantastic time and it is indeed a beautiful country. Unfortunately I arrived in London under the weather and only saw the inside of a Boots Pharmacy for the first 2 days but still enjoyed myself, visiting the major sites and seeing a West End Play. In London we stayed near St Pauls Cathedral in an apartment in Wardrobe Place which we loved as it was very close to Blackfriars Tube. We also wanted get out into the countryside and experience village life, walk alot and see some family history sites. And of course visit a few pubs! We used the Tube in London to get around and then after a train to Plymouth, drove down th... Struggling with basic health as M28, living abroad95d agoM28, moved to the UK from India 4ish years back. I used to be someone with a good physique, though I had small issues with allergies and an injury from my sports. 180cm in height, 84 KG, Indian from South. Not a serious drinker, started drinking around 2021, and stopped around 2023. Now, occasionally, drinks beer. No cigarettes or vapes, but I have smoked weed a couple of times in my whole life. No other recreational drugs yet, or not planning to take any in future. In my second year of my UK life, I caught COVID. It was really intense. I was mostly sleeping for the first 2 days of symptoms, with no idea what was going on. It got cured, I had small symptoms after that, like suddenly ca... Bulk ordering from Boots Online Doctor before the price hike105d agoSo I just had a situation where in August I ordered 2 of the 12.5mg pens before the price rise, from Boots Online Doctor. Note, Online Doctor is just a 3rd party service, not Boots themselves. I picked up one pen a couple of weeks ago, but the other pen was nowhere to be seen. In fact, there was no prescription for it at all. As far as Boots pharmacy are concerned, I only ordered a single pen. What actually happened is to stop people hoarding pens, Boots _doctor_ (or my GP, she wasn’t clear which, just said the doctor) rejected the second pen, and rejected it at the Online Doctor end. - When I call up Online Doctor: not our problem, you paid for 2, we sent 2 - When I go to the pharma...
