I nearly died after mixing weight loss jab with alcohol - I'd rather be overweight'10d agoA mum who nearly died after mixing Wegovy with alcohol - and says she'd "rather be overweight" than risk using weight loss jabs again. Tammy Downing, 44, says she. nearly died twice after turning to weight loss jobs to lose weight. She managed to lose four stone on Mounjaro before switching to the cheaper alternative when prices for weight loss injections spiked last October. But two weeks after Tammy started a weekly 1.7mg dose of Wegovy, she was rushed to hospital and needed CPR twice after a catastrophic seizure which saw her brother in law having to step in and resuscitate her. The pharmacy dispenser, says she was later told by medics her brush with death was ... Advice for getting a new job13d agoHi all. Last week, I got the awful news that I was at risk of redundancy and I was the only person up for it. The reason for this change is my employers moving to a freelance model to make costs cheaper. I have worked as a journalist in the East Riding since 2021. I am devastated that something I worked so hard towards is essentially over. I can go freelance, but I would have to do something else. I have tried over newspapers, most barring a couple have said no. I have been looking for alternative jobs, but I have realised how bleak the market is. I have a wealth of experience, and qualifications yet when I look on job sites everything is either care or warehouse jobs. I do not want ... Shocked at Asda30d agoI was just in an Asda in a town with a large Muslim population in the NW of England. They had a display of Eid cards next to a stand of boxes of dates. I love dates and went to pick a box. I was looking for country of origin and the Asda own brand dates, on the back, in small letters said "packed in Israel". I have a video I can share and I thought there may be plenty of people buying dates and not noticing this tiny print who might otherwise choose a different brand. The absolute nerve of Asda marketing and Israeli products to Muslims at Eid makes my head spin. How to FIRE and be FIRE'd comfortably when markets fall33d agoAs others have said in another thread this morning, recent financial market movements barely even register as a fall at present. Perhaps though that's a good reason to talk about it now before they actually do. These are my thoughts for whatever they're worth. First, in terms of building towards FI the answer is, in theory, easy - provided you've followed 'The Rules': 1) You haven't gone on an adrenaline-fuelled bender of single stock investments/crypto/leveraged nonsense. I'm not saying you must have £0 of these, but if throwaway comments by Sam Altman or Michael Saylor swing your portfolio substantially, then perhaps you want to reflect on that. 2) Yo... The complete guide to cat food brands in Europe: ingredients, manufacturers, and pricing across all tiers.43d agoIf you've ever wondered why your supermarket's own brand cat food seems suspiciously similar to the one from a different supermarket, or why some "premium" brands are owned by the same company as the budget stuff on the shelf below. This post is for you. This is a breakdown of the major cat food manufacturers operating in Europe, their brands, and how those brands are priced and positioned. I've split everything into three tiers: **Economy**, **Consumer**, and **Premium/Specialized**. Prices are EU averages per kg for dry and wet food based on retailers like Zooplus, Fressnapf, Amazon, Tiendanimal, and Arcaplanet. One thing worth knowing upfront: a large chunk of s... 6 Months of unemployment... Here's my experience44d agoI moved to a new city in the UK just over 6 months ago - have desperately tried to get a job, and I mean literally any job. After 6 months of applications, interviews, phone calls, no response and rejection I have finally secured a job in my field of interest. For some context, I have just turned 21, and have 2 years experience in Healthcare as a HCA, before which I was working in a warehouse as a picker packer. I don't have any qualifications outside of healthcare. I just wanted a minimum wage job to support myself whilst I work out what I want to do with my life. However...
