Ideally we are looking for a place to that both sells the product and has their own installers. I've read that some stores like Home Depot or Lowes subcontracts the installation work to installers and people have had variable quality with their installation. Or is this generally not a problem? Thanks! index of local jobs' pay2h agodo we have a community resource on what local jobs pay - from service work at the grocery stores to home depot to average pay for local restaurants and fast food to attendants or front desk kind of work at hotels etc. I don't think Glassdoor or the like would have this kind of info but i wonder if we could crowdsource it for a more informal, local network to help each other out? Does anyone know a good carpenter who can make a custom bookshelf wall?2h agoRecently bought an apartment and would like to create a ten foot bookshelf wall in the second bedroom. Tried ikea and it looked bad, Home Depot’s service ****** and Container Store told me it would be 6k plus a contractor (which would cost an additional $2k). Does anyone know a good carpenter who can build it for around $5k? Longshot for a One-Shot - Aproned Employees (Big Box Retail)3h agoI have a one-shot written where the adventurers run through a big box home improvement store (think Home Depot or Lowes) that is causing economic distress to the local craftsman community. I was going to run it today and just make do with random figures to represent the employees, but the host is sick so we're postponing it, giving me some time to search. All I'm coming up with though are restaurant employees, butchers, waiters and the like, with obviously not the right items in their hands. Does anyone have any leads (or have some of their own that're already created)? I am not looking for commissioned pieces, but if a pack costs a couple of bucks, I am not above spe... Merger uncertainty, A.I fear, setting up for a rocket blast for this monopoly of an empire - Netflix (NFLX)3h agoHi fellow autists, **Introduction:** You ever hear of Netflix? Yeah, the thing you use every night instead of fixing your life… or when you get turned down for $5 handys behind Arby’s. Or that thing your wife’s boyfriend says: “Wanna Netflix and chill?” Good news: I am presenting a way for you to potentially get rich while everyone else is sitting on their hands too scared to make a move. I haven’t written in a long time, but fun fact, [I once wrote about Netflix before the 2021 crash.](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/kwa8ee/the_demise_of_netflix_is_inevitable_and_why/) This time, I think the opposite is happening. **Thesis:** Netflix is trading at an insan... What's Going On With the Holes in Downtown Langford — And What Council Is Doing About It; "A Post-Mortem&quo...5h ago# If you've driven through the Peatt/Sunderland corridor lately, you've probably noticed that things don't look great. Open excavation pits, demolished homes left as rubble piles, and hazard notices going out to residents. It's not a good look — and understandably, people are frustrated and concerned. But there's a bigger story here that's worth understanding, because it involves multiple failed developments, real geotechnical safety risks, a web of connected companies, and a current council that's taken a markedly different approach to holding developers accountable. I wanted to put it all in one place so people can see the full picture. # The Scene ... Steam Valves6h agoRandom question but I'm looking for a brick and mortar store where I can walk in and buy some Gorton steam valves for my steam radiators in my house. I don't want the cheap Home Depot/Lowes **** that breaks instantly. Anything I find online is from a random store with ridiculous shipping. Any suggestions welcome but preferably in Nassau County near Rockville Centre. Oh snap . . . I’m not falling for THIS (election year promises to eliminate Federal Income Tax)8h agohttps://preview.redd.it/1ikfmoachgjg1.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=920b42e5f568ceef4f50d16fe65ac312fe399e6c ***Photo above*** *- If President Trump makes good on his promise to eliminate Federal Income taxes, will Taylor Swift buy an even bigger jet? Or just repaint the one she has? (disclaimer - Taylor Swift and the future Travis Kelce-Swift have not publicly taken a position in favor of eliminating income taxes).* There are a lot of taxes I’d like to see eliminated or rolled back. But the amount of media attention Trump’s proposal to eliminate income tax gets is disturbing and irresponsible. It goes beyond clickbait, since there is zero discussi... How difficult is it for those over 55 looking for work in the grocery/retail sector?15h agoI turn 60 years old in March. I have sent resumes via Indeed to the following stores with no response. Costco, Aldi’s, Kroger and Home Depot. I am also college educated. Bonanza Peach - What’s wrong with the trunk??15h agoToday I got this Bonanza Patio Peach tree at Home Depot. After I got it home and pulled the plastic label off the base of the trunk that all those trees have, I saw these black patches on the trunk. Is this of any concern, or is it normal? The rest of the tree seems to be doing fine and is loaded with buds. If it’s something I need to return to the store ASAP, I definitely can. I have no prior experience with Peach trees. Thanks! Got a interview for Merchandising specialist16h agoJust got an interview notification, what should I expect? I work at home depot before and my store was pretty bad, hope Lowes is better. Ceramic Tile vs Substrate vs Matt18h agoI'm in the process of getting setup to buy my first bearded dragon (sorta I had one years ago when I was little) and I found three enclosures on MB Marketplace for 250, they are Phailozoo 48 long x 24 wide. Anyways I've heard sand is the best thing to use but if I were to do that I really don't want to go to my local garden/hardware store and get the different bags of sand and do it myself. But I still want high quality stuff so I'd just buy the Jurassic Natural Australian Desert Dragon Habitat Substrate stuff (the sand from Australia.) and that stuff is super expensive. I also don't want to deal with replacing it every year or so. My main pick rn is probably ceramic... getting different orchids in big box stores?18h agothis may be a **** question but i’m shooting in nonetheless. i frequent lowe’s/home depot for plants; both my mom and i do at least once every weekend as a fun little trip. my mom loves orchids and i want to too! however, growing up with them in the house, the phalaenopsis gets very boring, very fast. we literally have ever color of them we have ever seen in the box stores. we keep seeing these people on tiktok getting vandas, dendrobiums, cattelayas, and occasionally even oncidiums in the box stores in different states, specifically what they refer to as “bag babies”. i remember when i was little our area used to get them as well, but that’s been ten plus years. is there anywa... Home Depot violates fire codes and endangers their customer's lives19h agoat this Home Depot, the manager and the store consistently violate the fire codes and consistently violate OSHA regulations and seem to go out of their way to endanger their customer's lives by locking and barricading their center exit, the exit that most people are likely to head towards in event of an evacuation. This behavior of Home Depot endangers their employees and endangers their customers. It is disgusting. People should be fired for this. They do this every day. I just found some old emails I sent to Marc Bekoff (who apparently is quite famous on the web) about how I feel about se...21h agoHere they are: In answer to your quote: "Bekoff said one compromise might be to have people who legitimately need emotional or comfort pets to meet with a Walmart manager and try to get permission to bring the animal into the store." What about US??? The people who can’t stand the sight of dogs, can’t stand the sound of them barking, etc.??? I was in a Walmart several times where very big, very loud dogs barked and it reverberated so loudly that it made my heart stop! Have you heard of mysophonia yet? We, who have it, cannot stand certain sounds. Dogs barking has NEVER been something everyone agreed is ‘pleasant’ to the ear. If people bring emotional/comfor... Kitchen Cabinets - Where to Buy in NYC21h agolooking for affordable quality kitchen cabinets in NYC. (cheap) for smallish apartment kitchen. We are going to self install but need help with design/layout. our options so far are IKEA, Home Depot, we went to Flushing too - but so many stores-not sure which one to use. please don’t say “go to local cabinet maker“ because I don’t think they are cheaper here in nyc & we will install ourselves! ready for suggestions😊 Help with this linkage mechanism21h agoI have no idea what I’m doing lol basically I’m using this linkage setup to create a pivot point for something but I don’t understand what hardware I need for this setup. Stores near me didn’t have shoulder bolts so I just got these hex bolts from Home Depot that have a smooth shank. I also got nylon lock nuts and washers. But what hardware do I need for this setup so it can move freely but also so the links don’t slide back and forth. I want to be able to do this without bearings too if possible. What do I need and how is it set up and is there any local places that carry what I need. Question for the grown Black women: does anyone still meet their person in… a grocery store?! 😂22h agoHey y’all. Random question but also not random lol. For Black women in your 30s (or close to it): Did anyone meet their now-partner or spouse in a regular, everyday place like a grocery store, Target, farmers market, Home Depot, Whole Foods, whatever and it actually turned into a healthy, happy relationship? Bonus points if: \- You met them after detaching from toxic family patterns \- You met them in a new city or state \- You met them during a season where you were finally minding your business, healing, and glowing \- You weren’t even “looking” like that, it just… happened \- And of course… y’all are still happy or married now I’m just curious because I’ve hear... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
