Not an electrician. I just got a lamp body from a thrift store without any socket or wires. I purchased a lamp cord with a switch and a socket from HomeDepot. Both wires have the same white insulation but one is smooth and the other has ribbing on its side. I followed a tutorial online and screwed the smooth wire to brass screw and the ribbed one to the silver screw. Tightened everything and made sure there’s no wire strands. However, after putting everything together and plugging it in, I accidentally touched the centre brass tab of the socket with my finger and got a little tingle. I've offered up my bill of materials/guide for my home made RO systems and several people have shown interest. I decided to update it today to update links and add in some perspective as I've built my 2nd (larger) system. Below is the bill of materials and notes for a system. Its set up as a 1x400 gpd system similar to my original build. I did originally use 4x100gpd, but in retrospect I wish I went with a 1x400 gpd system. It would have been easier to expand and is a bit cheaper. You can fit it in a 5 gallon bucket, or mount it to a piece of wood, whatever you prefer. They always say you have to be available at least one weekend day, and most of us end up getting scheduled Saturdays or Sundays pretty regularly. But there’s a coworker at my store who, for the past few weeks (maybe longer), has only been scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. She’s never scheduled Friday through Monday. Found this on Northern Tool, and I hadn't seen such a creature before. 20-ton splitter that runs on a battery. I can't imagine the run-time between charges is long, but that's sheer conjecture. Does anyone know whether the Type L copper sold at big box stores in Ontario (e.g. Home Depot or Rona) is hard or soft? This information isn't provided on their websites or by the pipe manufacturers. The OBC states that to be used underground... * Type M copper is not permitted * Type L copper must be soft * Type K copper must be soft ... as per item 7.2.7.4. copper tube - [https://www.buildingcode.online/955.html](https://www.buildingcode.online/955.html) I am planning to use type L as it is more readily available than type K, and will likely be using 3/4", but may use 1" in case that matters. Specifically, I'm looking for some 2" (or so) dowel screws like in this image. I can't seem to find any definitive information on any place's website on whether they'd have this in store. Home Depot/Lowe's mostly say they can be ordered and delivered to the store within a week etc. but really hoping to find one by tomorrow. Ordered December 23rd, just arrived today They fit pretty well on me, tho there was a tiny bit of space between my fingers and the ends of the gloves (mainly my thumb, index, and pinky) so if you have skinny fingers like me that’s something to keep in mind. I also like the rubber grip design on the palm part of the glove, I think it looks cool Overall the gloves are just ok, I don’t have any gloves from Walmart, Home Depot, or any hardware store to compare but I wouldn’t be surprised if they feel pretty identical to those
