Planting Vegetable Starts

2h ago

Hi there - Big box stores (Home Depot, Costco) all have their vegetable starts out and I know they don't care about gardening guidelines but we do 😅 When it is actually time to plant in late May, who will still sell the starts? I'm on the east side of Seattle, WA. Or can I buy the ones the stores have now and keep them inside?

Question About Victoria Day

3h ago

***Home Depot Canada*** I overhead some coworkers talk about signing up for the holiday coming up. 1. Is it a good idea to sign up **\[as a new hire\]**? *<not sure where to sign up>* 2. Is the store open? 3. What's expected to happen? I work in Seasonal. Thanks again!

A baby bat cried out in fright, TURN ON THE DARK! (I'm afraid of the light!)

3h ago

So, I consider myself king of the clearance aisle. I'm always on the hunt for a good deal even if it's not something I can utilize right away I'll figure out something to do with it months down the road. So when harbor breeze had their 18500 batteries on clearance I went through and bought up three stores worth. Grabbed very last one here in the springs. I've just unpackaged a bunch of them, and a few days ago I found three bullet lights, wet rated, at Home Depot originally $80 lights I think I paid 70 bucks for three of them. Each one is 4000 lumens. Yet surprisingly that 4000 lumens only takes up 1/3 of an amp. So for less than one amp I've got 12,000 lumens. So w...

Two M18 5.0 batteries, or one forge 8.0?

3h ago

The red tool store has this deal on the m18 inflator with two of the 5.0 batteries for $212, no charger. Recently bought the same inflator with a forge 8.0 battery and rapid charger at Home Depot for $267 that I haven’t opened. I’d be selling the rapid charger for $40-50 since I don’t need it. So roughly for the same price, do you guys think (2) 5.0 batteries is better value, or the single 8.0 forge? I don’t use the batteries for anything crazy, would mainly be on the inflator, heat gun, blower gun and the m18 top off. So want to go with whatever is going to get me the most run time on those. I think the (2) 5.0s would be the best bet here. Thoughts?

Home Depot Says Its New Google Cloud Powered AI Phone Agents Are Resolving Customer Calls 4x Faster, By Cutting Out The ...

3h ago

Home Depot has expanded its Google Cloud partnership with new AI powered voice agents that let customers explain what they need in their own words instead of navigating a phone tree. The company says the system can now handle common requests like order status, product availability, and store information, while also helping start service requests and even building a shopping cart from the details a customer gives over the phone. The big pitch is speed and simplicity. Home Depot says the AI agents are already resolving customer issues about four times faster than the old menu based system, which is a meaningful upgrade in a retail environment where people usually call because they want a quic...

Is it me or

is maps pretty much useless? I’m driving down the freeway and remember that I need to stop at Home Depot. I know there’s one close to the next exit so I hop off. At the light I enter “home depot near me.” The first two are hardware stores that are not Home Depot. The next one is a Home Depot 15 minutes away. I wing it from memory and I’m at the Depot I wanted in the first place. Total time two minutes. Anyone using Apple Maps!

Does Home Depot help with transfers or do you just apply at another store and interview and see what happens?

Meet Drago our new rescue

5h ago

We have a beautiful approx 3 mo old Belgian Malinois rescue, and we are very experienced in K9 training, having worked with Police dogs over the years, owning our own German Shepherds for 14 years, and many other breeds we have rescued, but this is our first Malinois. I know they need a job to do, and we want to start getting him out in public, but not touching the ground, as he hasn't had his complete rounds of vaccinations yet. I read a great idea is to take them and their blanket to a Home Depot or Hardware store, and put them in a cart, and push them around, letting people touch them. I think that is just what we are going to do. Any other ideas?

Proven winners At Last shrub rose color problem- help!

5h ago

I purchased a proven winners At Last shrub rose online but from a local big box store. I chose it specifically for the color- in my research was anywhere from orange to coral. What I pulled out of the box is very yellow. there is no shade of deepening to orange ish anywhere from bud to older bloom. Could this be a lighting or maturity issue. I’m so disappointed. Trying to build a perennial garden and the one rose I’ve already got going is . . . yellow🤗. The orange to coral was planned with companion perennials 😩. I’m sure I’ll get no knowledgeable input from Home depot. I assume they receive these proven winner plants as is so if its a mistake it happened prior to their ha...

Why is it so hard to find Canadian-made tools at Canadian Tire?

6h ago

I've been looking into why more local tool and hardware manufacturers aren't on the shelves at **Canadian Tire or Home Depot.** It usually comes down to the logistics and the 'Listing Fee' barrier. I have two partners who are trying to fix this, they act as distributors specifically for big-box stores on a **commission-only basis.** They've already gotten local tools and food items into Loblaws and Costco. For the shop owners and makers here: If you had the chance to go national, what's been your biggest roadblock? Is it the volume requirements or just getting a category buyer to answer an email?

Pre emergent/fertilizer questions zone 6a/5b (Milwaukee)

8h ago

Hi there, I’m pretty new to caring about my lawn. Overseeded last spring and fall with Blue Resilience in the front and chewing fescue in my shady-ish backyard. I’ve been lurking on this and r/lawncare extensively but I have some specific questions I was hoping on advice for. I was late to get my pre emergent down, I’m wondering if it would be too late to get anything down for the rest of the year. The most convenient box stores by me are Menards and Home Depot. So I’m wondering if Menards four step program is a worthwhile investment and maybe easy first step. I was thinking of applying step 1 this weekend since it has both pre emergent and decent fertilizer counts and then ste...

Has anyone seen this plant in Ohio or PA

23h ago

Someone posted on Reddit that Home Depot and Lowe’s are selling these pitcher plants. I’ve been to a couple and have yet to find them. I’ve recently been getting into plants, particularly carnivorous plants and would love to add one or two of these to my collection. I live in Youngstown, OH but am very close to the western side of PA. I want one so bad I would be willing to drive up to 1.5 hours, I just can’t find a store that has them in stock. I’ve tried looking online but none say available in store.
