AITAH Home Depot online order verse in store shopping pricing

4h ago

It's been a horrible day, but am I the a\*\*\*\*\*\* for being ****** that Home Depot charges $279 for a Nest thermostat that you buy in the store but $235 if you order it online first, then pickup? Then asking them wth? Edit: I definitely was not rude to the employees watching at self checkout or the person manning customer service. Just dumbfounded.

Question about flanges on the 7"/9" grinder...

5h ago

So I got a couple new grinders when Home Depot had them on sale recently. They had a deal where when you bought the 7/9" grinder (usually 350 by itself) you got the 4 1/2/5" grinder free. I'd been wanting that bigger grinder since it came out, so figured I couldn't go wrong. What made the deal even sweeter was that it was supposed to arrive at my store for pickup by Thursday. I called twice Thursday and they finally told me that it was delayed and should arrive no later than Monday. I asked if I might could get a coupon code for the wait. I'm expecting maybe ten precent off my next purchase or something... He puts me on hold for a second, comes back and tells me he&#...

How do you guys like to store your shotgun ammo?

7h ago

When I got into shotguns I realized the hard way how fast shotshell boxes can absolutely eat up traditional pistol/rifle ammo cans like it's nothing. It's getting to the point where it seems downright silly for me to spend money on more .50cal Plano boxes only to be able to stuff 4-5 boxes of shells in them. I know gun safes with shelving is probably the best way to go with this but I'd rather not spend 200-500 dollars on a Chinese made gun safe from Amazon or Walmart. And the nicer heavier duty ones are just way too out of my budget right now. For a while I was using a 30 gallon storage tote from Home Depot but that didn't last long before it started getting cracks a...

Samons “Tiger Stores”

7h ago

I just wanna say that the manager and staff working at the Menaul Samons store today were genuinely some of the most helpful people I’ve ever run into at a hardware store. The manager helped me swap out a new swamp cooler motor on my rusty old motor bracket, re-use the pigtail, and set a new motor pulley (old one was stuck from corrosion) on the shaft. They had the part I needed in stock and the expertise to set it up so I wouldn’t have to fumble with it myself up on the roof. Sure, they might have the last CRT monitor sales terminals in the western world and antique tractor feed dot-matrix printers, but they know what they’re doing and you’re not going to get that kind of help at...

New plant owner and could use some advice!

8h ago

Hi all! New to the plant game and have gotten bit by the bug pretty badly. Went to Home Depot for a pothos and left with both a pothos and this guy because he was so pretty and I couldn’t leave without him (he even has a couple variations on some of the leaves!!). There was no label for what exactly this plant was, but after doing a bit of research, I learned this is a lipstick plant. Seems super healthy, got a few blooms coming in, leaves are nice and thick and very few areas of concern as far as I can see! Also came with a Globee planter which is neat. Been doing a bit more research after getting home, and I’d like a few tips if possible! So I want to try to keep this guy outside. Bi...

If you’re in the market for a new smoker check it out! Bronco 2 is 500 dollars before tax at Lowe’s and Home Depot.

My girl did so good on errands with me today

9h ago

Pup cup for being so good. We went to the pet store and Home Depot together, and she stayed right next to me and was so in tune with me the whole time. I’m so proud of her. We passed many other dogs and people with no reaction. She’s wearing her ecollar but I didn’t even have to use it she was so good. I think people might have thought she was my service dog

Guess I'll stick to Costco from now on

9h ago

I've been a shopper for a couple months and shopped at various stores with variable item availability. Kroger, Sprouts, Home Depot, Lowe's, CVS, Target, and Costco. It's been a learning curve with accepting certain batches and knowing which stores will be a **** shoot. I've thankfully been getting more comfortable at Costco and I live right near one too. I have a 5 star customer rating with various positive feedback. I'll just stick to accepting only Costco orders for a while. They do pay more and I can make my goal with just a couple batches, plus they open at 10am so I can create a better balance with my routine and putting in hours. Before I would clock in at 6:...

Heavy police presence at Riverside Home Depot

11h ago

Just left the store and an employee had to manually let me out. As I walked out I saw two cop cars in the front of the building (didn’t see any cops). There were lines of people outside the doors. I asked the employee what was going on and he just shrugged and said “we’re letting people out but not in.” As I turned onto Warren Ave I saw a third cop car guarding the employee-only entrance, and a fourth cop guarding the next available access road. What is happening?!

Lowe’s doesn’t honor discounts

11h ago

Lowe’s and Home Depot both used to offer 50% off on open bags of soil. I asked one of the reps who had a red vest on at my local store about it and he said it was still offered. I loaded my cart with a bunch of very open bags and got to the counter and they said they only do 10% on them now if they can just tape it closed. Well they should tape them closed if that’s the case. Unreal. Definitely converting back to Home Depot.

What's the best way to get in touch with Dewalt support in the US?

11h ago

I made the mistake of buying an extractor (DWV015), which unfortunately there are two types of this extractor, a type 1 and a type 2. One with WTC, and one without. The Dewalt USA online product page; has the type 2 users manual, and the reviews indicate that they are available. A bunch of ebay listings also indicate people in the US market are buying them here and even selling them. I can order it from Lowes or Home Depot and ship it to the store, but there is no way to ensure which type I get because they are all the same model number and same box. I have bought and returned two of these at this point and just want to talk to an actual US rep that might be able to help with this. Anyon...

12h ago

Last job search I did was before it got cringe. (Home Depot in 2019) I quit Home Depot after burnout and am currently in the queue for the Air Force. I tried getting a job at ***** (Lowes) But they wanted me to work full time. During the interview I kept telling them I'd rather just work part time up to 40 hours a week and kept emphasizing I could work evenings and on the weekends but I got really sketchy vibes from the dude who was hiring me. What should I do lol? I don't need the money this is literally something so i am not bored out of my mind before I ship out. I also **** all of this new AI hiring stuff and how a lot of it is outside of the stores management teams control and...

First Time Gardening, Opinions on Miracle-GRO 4'8" x 4'8" x 6'5" Outdoor Mini Walk-in Gree...

12h ago

Hey there, new gardener here! I'm located in the **USDA Hardiness Zone 5b,** and I was wondering what your guys' experience with this grow tent. It's on sale right now on [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0FLFX5L91/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1) for a price I can actually afford without breaking the bank, and it's small enough to fit in the backyard without issue. Last year, I tried really hard to get my seedlings going, and they were successful until I removed their little plastic coverings when they got a little taller on those small grow trays; most, unfortunately, did not survive long enough to be planted. This year, I'm going to sa...

Retailer for business - Canadian options with receipt tracking

15h ago

Just did my business tax and noted that I mostly shopped with Costco, Home Depot, and Amazon since they track receipts for in store purchases. I avoided retailer such as Canadian Tires, etc. as they only track award but not receipt detail. Any competitive Canadian options that track receipts online?

Hedge AI Risk with This "Un-Disruptable" Plumbing Stock

15h ago

In a world where everyone is chasing the next chatbot or AI trend, sometimes the smartest move is to look at a business that can't be replaced by an algorithm. \*\*Ferguson ($FERG)\*\*—the biggest company you’ve probably never heard of, it could be a hidden gem for investors. Here’s why Wall Street is paying attention: \*\*1. They’re "Recession-Resistant"\*\* Unlike homebuilders who hurt when interest rates rise, 75% of Ferguson’s business comes from repairs and maintenance. When a water main breaks or a commercial boiler dies, people don't wait for a better economy to fix it—they call a pro, and that pro calls Ferguson. \*\*2. Moving to the Big Leagu...

Shower pan or DIY tile floor??

15h ago

My husband and I recently bought and have been renovating our new family home. The main floor’s small bathroom previously had a concrete shower pad that we took out to replace. Come to find that the room is an odd size, because of course it is.. wall to wall for length of shower is 52 inches and the width of shower we’re looking at is 32 to fit everything else comfortably in there. Here comes our newest issue. The shower pans I’ve found between Menards and home depot (closest stores within 100 miles) are sized either 56in or 48in. Expansion is not a possibility at this point so then we discussed building a false wall to account for the 4in discrepancy. Then the idea of tile came aro...

Got a 'delayed' notification from Home Depot. They say the date was never delayed. Make it make sense

16h ago

Home Depot sent me a delivery delay notification, then told me on the phone the delivery was **never delayed**. Should have been here Wednesday. Today is Saturday. I am apparently impatient of not waiting on the made-up **expected delivery** date of **Monday**. 90 minutes on the call. Order cancelled. A week gone. Apparently the original date I screenshotted **never existed**. I have thousands of dollars worth of RIDGID tools and now married to HomeDepot. #FeelsBad https://preview.redd.it/hveioryx9cxg1.png?width=537&format=png&auto=webp&s=78e43b3a179fe3cd3e3fac6b2cc253fcf033ee66 https://preview.redd.it/f5vorlzm9cxg1.png?width=657&format=png&auto...

What would you do with $4k in Big Box gift cards?

16h ago

If you had about $4k in gift cards that fell off a truck, and needed to be spent at Home Depot or Lowe’s, what would you do… theoretically of course. I don’t need any new appliances or tools. I’m handy, but time constrained for big projects. I would love to remodel our kitchen or main bath, but those would be out of budget. our shed is falling down, but that would also be out of budget unless I just buy lumber Is there anything at a big box store that’s actually worth it? Should I just start tackling every little project I have? Buy materials and split the work between myself and some handymen? edit: this is not a forever home either. inwill probably move in 1-2 years

Condo Kitchen Remodel

18h ago

We have consulted with designers at Hammond Lumber and Home Depot, which quoted half the price of Hammond. Does everything else have to be "custom"? We'd like to hire someone to demo and dispose of current kitchen, measure, and install cabinets, sink, quartz counter. I hear Home Depot contracts to the lowest bidder, which sounds risky in terms of fixing any issues. Are there local contractors or stores with installers that aren't necessarily custom cabinets? Also our HOA requires us to submit proof of the installer's insurance before they approve any work.
