Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the The Home Depot Latest Community Discussions About The Home DepotCane Holder for Wheel Chairs1h agoA two-foot section of 2" PVC pipe, a 4" hose clamp and a 1/4" x 3" bolt or lag screw long enough to go through the tube at the bottom make a very good cane holder for any wheelchair or transport chair. The fitting at the top of this tube is a reducer that acts as a handy funnel to guide the cane into tubes smaller than 2". Home Depot and Lowes builders supply stores carry these tubes already cut to length for under $3. Every wheelchair user needs a cane, as having a cane makes so many things easier to reach. Cold weather out of house toddler options?2h agoThe last 5 years of my nanny career have been in a state with very tolerable winters due to yearly sunshine and reasonable temps other than big storms and flukes. I’m back in Chicago working in Lincoln Park area (bonus if you have direct ideas for this area!) and am not used to the infant/toddler world with such brutal weather! NK 8 months and NK 15 months (nanny share) They are on opposite nap schedules, but we are cooped up and I want to bring some ideas to the parents for 1-2x a week we can get out for the NK 15 month if NK 8 will carrier nap for us. NK 15 doesn’t tolerate strollers for more than ~30 min right now (working on it), so long walks for NK 8’s naps aren’t a great o... Home Depot coworkers in my store always make sure to look out for each other!2h agoFor context I work in the tree lot. Tree lot is the outside area that we do to cut trees. I usually sit outside all day and it’s been pretty cold. Coworkers came over and gave me some hot coca and said there’s soup and grilled cheese inside for me whenever I want to go in. They told me to make sure I keep warm because it’s cold outside. Here’s the little gift they gave me! Locally-owned hardware stores?2h agoI am tired of spending my money at big box stores like Home Depot and Menards. Does anyone know of a good local hardware store? There used to be one next to Ursa Minor in Lincoln Park, but they closed. Insulated work gloves recommendation3h agoI work at a Home Depot where a majority of what I do every day is take shopping carts into the store. The store provides insulated rubber dipped work gloves but I still often get too cold while out in the parking lot. I tried ski gloves a few days ago, but they didn’t work very well because my hands kept slipping. Does anyone have any recommendations for gloves like this? Our DIY hydroponic fodder system3h agoWe've been working on a DIY barley fodder system for the past month or two and seem to have it all sorted out now, and just wanted to share our progress. The setup cost around $500-$600 CAD or so to put together. Most of that is the shelves ($230 at Home Depot) and the trays (boot trays from Costco at $10 each). The rest is the PVC tubing (we used tubing for a central vacuum system rather than plumbing, since it's a little cheaper), lights (scored some on clearance), and the odds and ends like connectors and caulk and such. We experimented with a few different routes before committing to scaling it up, but simple seems to work best. One hole is drilled at the end of each... - YouTube - "Sanctuary MOBS" WAGE WAR on Home Depot... CEO PANICS as STORES IMPLODE5h agoHome Depot holiday hours, in case you were wondering5h agoEmpava oven igniter help6h agoI bought an empavaa oven from Home Depot's website a couple years ago, made the mistake of thinking they were an American made company. The bottom ignitor went while the top one has not and the replacement I purchased was a universal igniter and it did not work. Every supply store around me says they do not carry parts for empava so I am genuinely hoping someone has some kind of Miracle website that I can order a ****** igniter for so I don't have to lose an $800 oven because of a f****** spark igniter Pack out combo kit hack fail13h agoI tried doing it. I think I failed. I selected 1 store for packout combo kit pick up and 1 store for battery’s and saw pickup. I went in immediately and cancelled the batteries and saw and thought I was good to go. Then got this email and it looks like the whole order was canceled. However when I sign into my Home Depot account the pack out doesn’t show cancellation. Weird I used to have this toolbox when I was a kid.14h agoAs it says in the picture, it’s a 16-inch black plastic portable Husky toolbox. I’ve searched for it at Home Depot and other hardware stores, but they don’t have it. I HAVE found it on eBay and SuperArbor, but they both have outrageous shipping fees which I think is a bit extreme. i bid you adieu16h agoon 06/24 of this year i got the job (it was my mom's birthday) it was supposed to be a trial to be a manager, as what the store manager was saying. so, i thought hey it was going to be ok since i worked for Home Depot (that company is a shitshow) and I thought it is the dollar tree, how bad could it be? boy i was ****. in July i was slowly learning the ropes and i used every trick i have in my book to be a good worker, yet the store manager was cold, every time she was near i felt ice on the back of me. but i never felt good enough till one day i talked to the store manager about them management position and point blank said to my face "yeah i forgot i said that" and that poi... Was this door just stored badly, or do they come from the factory like this?18h agoJeld-Wen from Home Depot. Also have seen lots of poorly attached hinges on their doors - like screws at a 45^o angle. My customers want cheap, I want something easier to work with. Any suggestions for a middle ground on sourcing affordable doors that are better made? Good Deal at Home Depot19h agoI was in my local Home Depot yesterday looking for any deals on milwaukee stuff and came across this at the last minute. m12 drill, impact, 2 cp1.5 batteries, charger, and tool bag for 99 bucks. I'm thinking they might be discontinuing these tools, you can't order this kit online, it was the last box at my store, and the website says the closest store to me that has more in stock is 3hrs away. Additionally the cp1.5 batteries this comes with show out of stock in store and online. I'm guessing they replaced them with the cp2.0. Anyway, ive had the same m12 drill that comes in this kit and used it every day for installs for about 8 years now, still going strong but this kit just... Part of the Problem21h agoI lost some nuts to bolts I needed to put an old table back together. No big deal, 5 nuts. Figured I’d pop into Home Depot and buy a small box of 8 nuts and be on my way. Turns out Home Depot stopped carrying the metric containers, and only sell them in individually wrapped bags - for each nut. Ok, so I’ll just get the five I need. At the self checkout, I scan the bags - they were $3.49 EACH. PER NUT. More than $20, with tax. For 5 nuts. The helper at the self checkout confirmed that was the price and wasn’t an error. 😨 I noped out of there and went to the local hardware store, a little further away. 20 cents each. Tell me, which do you think is more “affordable”? Do... Living Shell with a wood stove21h agoI'm a big fan of a wood stove and have used it in the Living Shell for multiple years. Absolutely, LS doesn't have a passthrough hole for the wood stove, so I cut the roof and installed a Winnerwell flashing kit because I was using the Woodlander Double-view Large at the time. Well, basically it is working perfectly, and I was able to stay with a thin sleeve even in freezing temperatures. https://preview.redd.it/9sy5nmfvqg6g1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=091ea0a9dae495cb7ae2469882d35ee1a15abab6 After spending several winters with this setup, I started to notice a few drawbacks and things I wished were better. The first was the wood stove itself.... Suggestions for in stock exterior doors stores?23h agoHi I need an exterior patio door, doesn’t need to be fancy but need one quickly. Anyone know where doors are actually in stock and don’t have a 3-4 week lead time. Thanks! The door I need is 60x80, didn’t see Home Depot or Lowe’s carrying those dimensions in stock either. How to properly socialize in public1d agoHello! I would love to start bringing my dog to more public areas such as dog events, outdoor markets, etc. However, he gets SOOO excited in new environments. He’s been to pet stores and home depot for some training, but he’s already so over stimulated, he can’t really focus on me with the new smells around. In my own neighborhood, he’s already decently calm on his walks and I would like to bring him to new pet friendly areas for more mental stimulation. What is the next step towards training calm in new environments when I can’t even get my dog to be calm to start training in the new environment? He is friendly towards strangers, doesn’t really care about them too much. But i... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
