I worked at the Pro-Desk at my home depot for 1 year part time before i asked to be made a full time employee so I could only work 2 jobs. BIG MISTAKE!!! It started with my supervisor asking me to come in 10 minutes early before every shift to clean my register. I was written up by the store director herself for clocking in early, so my supervisor instructed me to not clock in until my shift started and to still clean my register 10 minutes prior to my shift. The store director wrote me up again (Strike 2). In order to fix the payroll and hour's, the store director told me to come in 10 minutes late the next few days, so I listened and apologized for my incompetent performance in writ...

Roommate moving out wants to take the shared fridge because she used a Home Depot promo credit

3h ago

Hi everyone, I need outside opinions on a roommate situation. I live in a house with multiple roommates and we share the kitchen. We had to replace the refrigerator a while back, and everyone agreed to pitch in so we could buy one for the house. Here’s where it gets complicated: One roommate (Lisa) had access to a Home Depot promotional credit (from a store promo/credit card offer). She applied that credit toward the fridge purchase. On top of that, all of us — including her — paid the same amount out of pocket to cover the remaining cost. So yes, her promotional credit reduced the total price a lot, but when it came to actual money paid, we all contributed equally. From the begin...

My region FINALLY lifted restrictions on purchasing citrus. I’ve been waiting years for this kumquat. Can I eat the fi...

HLB has been a problem in my area for many years. No citrus were allowed to be sold in stores. I believe you could bring them in from other regions, but it was more hassle than it was worth and I never found any good ones outside of the county, so I’ve waited patiently. UNTIL NOW! It’s always been my rule of thumb not to eat the first flush of fruit from something bought at a big box store(HD). But I’ve mainly dealt with peppers, tomatoes and other faster growing plants. It’s hard to find a reliable source, but the internet seems to think HD treats their trees with imidacloprid. I’ve had the tree in my possession for 2-ish weeks, it was full of fruit at the store. Will these be sa...

My Semi-DIY Gym From 2015

7h ago

I built this back in 2015. I'm too embarrassed to talk about it in real life. The first time I mentioned it online, when I was building it, I had a dozen people telling me I was going to die when it collapsed. But still, I love this thing and I wanted to share some pictures. - The rack itself is just lumber and (mostly) deck screws. - The straps hanging down are ratchet straps. I use it a spotting system. I acknowledge that there is inherent risk involved/am not advocating anyone else do this. - The pulley 'system' isn't as nice as it could be, but it lets me do all the things I've wanted. Can be pulled down from the top, or pulled up from the bottom (ie pulldow...

Project Completed Just in Time for My GF’s BDay

7h ago

Here’s the story for those who are interested and a question at the end. The Why: She’s an absolute gem, and I had been wanting to make something for her. This will serves as a book shelf, seat to put her shoes on in the morning / store under and on the left hand side. And maybe get a few of the hung purses off her door handle ( fingers crossed on that one). She’s an organized chaos person like me and this should fit her room layout perfectly. The How: Before this, I had done a lot of tinkering, but the biggest thing I made was a beer-die table with a friend of mine. It served as a great workbench throughout this project. I had planned out the rough dimensions, design, and then wen...

First Tool Hack/Deal

Looking to get the blower, I've never bought as part of a deal and returned before, so I want to make sure I'm doing this right. I can buy this is a deal, and return the hammer drill and driver combo and only end up paying $132.70 for the blower? I've already got a M12 drill and driver so I have no need for it.

Retail Solar Sales info

10h ago

Orlando/Tampa regions Retail Solar Sales isn’t a “traditional” sales role either. Once trained, you just work in a Lowe’s or Home Depot store helping guests while wearing a vest like a normal employee would After helping the guest find what they need, you toss in 30 seconds about Solar: how it’s changed the last year, and why giant brands like Lowe’s and Home Depot are getting involved now If they want more information, your job is to set up that appointment for them with one of the Solar consultants to do the rest - that’s it lol. You can make up to $1k+ the next week, but I’ve seen people do more, just depends on what you put in

Home Depot investors are asking uncomfortable questions after ICE raids

11h ago

Following a wave of ICE arrests near Home Depot stores, a group of shareholders is pressuring the company to explain how surveillance data from its parking lots is being used and whether it’s indirectly ending up in federal immigration enforcement hands. The concern centers on license-plate data collected via a third-party surveillance vendor and reportedly shared by local police with ICE. Investors warn this creates privacy, civil-rights, legal, and reputational risks, especially amid growing public backlash and stricter state privacy laws. Home Depot says it doesn’t directly share data with federal agencies but critics argue the “local-to-federal” data flow still enables de-fact...
