More of a Home Depot question, but... (using store credit to buy deals)

2h ago

I returned some stuff a few months back and got one of those orange store credit cards (like a "gift card"). I want to use that money to buy an M12S Stubby+ battery combo that comes up online frequently (but it not available in store). Unfortunately these orange gift cards cannot be used for online purchases - only in store. Anyone have a good idea how the heck I can spend my money? I am really frustrated because it is my frigging money, but I can't use it to buy what I want...

Help! VOC caused major flare

2h ago

TLDR: brand new couch off-gassed and triggered my body. I need advice for detoxing my body AND my home. Symptoms: headache, stuffy ears and nose, swollen lymph nodes, itchy throat. I got the sofa The full version: I bought a brand new couch from Bob’s Discount Furniture (USA). It was delivered and I unboxed it/set it up that evening. Next morning, I woke up with symptoms described above; chalked it up to tree pollen (it’s bad this time of year and I’d spent about of time outside the day the couch came). About mid morning, I used the toilet and it felt like my entire colon emptied out! It smelled like plastic. That’s when I realized: this isn’t tree pollen. It’s the new couch....

Threatened for deactivation for blurry photo

3h ago

Almost got my account deactivated for this photo.. no complaint. No customer calls. I think it’s absurd that Roadie has so much high expectation for their deliveries when 5/10 of their senders **** up their details regarding the delivery requiring us drivers to fix it by EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATING with customers and stores to fix their ******* INCOMPETENT IDIOTIC MISTAKES. Yes we know you **** your life working at Walmart or Home Depot which is why it’s hard for you do figure out what the **** to give me to deliver but that’s never your fault. It’s ALWAYS our fault. The guys with no boss and no human interaction 90% of the time. Driving this app has made me realize with more human = m...

Pergo EverCraft vs SmartCore LVP

4h ago

What do you folks folks think of, and have heard about, the newer Pergo EverCraft? I had some Pro services regional guy in my store saying it was our answer to Home Depot’s Lifeproof LVP. My other regional guy over with my installer, UHS, seems to prefer the Smartcore LVP over just about everything. Although he seemed to be warming to the idea of the EverCraft. Was curious what you folks are recommending to people as our top of the line whole house solution?

What do i do if I feel im being targeted?

10h ago

So i got a counseling for performance today, and everything in the notes wasnt true. I got a coaching back in January for all the same stuff plus a few other things, and thought then okay some of this is true but other stuff isnt, ill just work harder (ive been here for almost 4 years and did get lazier the past year and a half) and i thought i was really improving over the past few months and was getting more done each shift. But I got pulled into the office today and a manager had to give me a counseling for stuff that I KNOW isnt true. Stuff like pack downs (I know for a fact I hit my goals every day I come in, its rare for me not to), department standards (when i come in the place looks ...

Ever since my parents retired early it has been a very drastic decline

11h ago

My dad is 57, mom is 65 and they retired about 4 years ago, which compared to others is very soon. Both worked white collar jobs their entire life and while haven’t always been the most exciting people would at least do things like go out to dinner, interact with people etc. I’d say in the last 2.5 years they completely stopped doing anything. They have drank all my life daily (will deny this). Now they drink 1-2 beers in the afternoon and have like 4- 10 glasses of wine a night. Made a comment about it once a year ago and dad went into a rage. The only places they go is the grocery store or Home Depot. They watch the same things on TV, every single day. In total, sports games (same te...

Title: Anyone near Home Depot / Lowe’s/hardware store right now? Quick favor

14h ago

Bit of a long shot — I’m stuck mid-project and trying to avoid driving to 3 stores. Looking for a specific bolt (\~3/8" diameter, \~2–3 inch length). If someone is already at or near Home Depot / Lowe’s and can check the fastener aisle and snap a quick pic, I’d really appreciate it. Even just: \- “yes I see something like this” \- or “nope nothing close” would save me a ton of time. Happy to return the favor / buy you a coffee 🙏

AITAH Home Depot online order verse in store shopping pricing

15h ago

It's been a horrible day, but am I the a\*\*\*\*\*\* for being ****** that Home Depot charges $279 for a Nest thermostat that you buy in the store but $235 if you order it online first, then pickup? Then asking them wth? Edit: I definitely was not rude to the employees watching at self checkout or the person manning customer service. Just dumbfounded.

Question about flanges on the 7"/9" grinder...

16h ago

So I got a couple new grinders when Home Depot had them on sale recently. They had a deal where when you bought the 7/9" grinder (usually 350 by itself) you got the 4 1/2/5" grinder free. I'd been wanting that bigger grinder since it came out, so figured I couldn't go wrong. What made the deal even sweeter was that it was supposed to arrive at my store for pickup by Thursday. I called twice Thursday and they finally told me that it was delayed and should arrive no later than Monday. I asked if I might could get a coupon code for the wait. I'm expecting maybe ten precent off my next purchase or something... He puts me on hold for a second, comes back and tells me he&#...

How do you guys like to store your shotgun ammo?

18h ago

When I got into shotguns I realized the hard way how fast shotshell boxes can absolutely eat up traditional pistol/rifle ammo cans like it's nothing. It's getting to the point where it seems downright silly for me to spend money on more .50cal Plano boxes only to be able to stuff 4-5 boxes of shells in them. I know gun safes with shelving is probably the best way to go with this but I'd rather not spend 200-500 dollars on a Chinese made gun safe from Amazon or Walmart. And the nicer heavier duty ones are just way too out of my budget right now. For a while I was using a 30 gallon storage tote from Home Depot but that didn't last long before it started getting cracks a...

Samons “Tiger Stores”

18h ago

I just wanna say that the manager and staff working at the Menaul Samons store today were genuinely some of the most helpful people I’ve ever run into at a hardware store. The manager helped me swap out a new swamp cooler motor on my rusty old motor bracket, re-use the pigtail, and set a new motor pulley (old one was stuck from corrosion) on the shaft. They had the part I needed in stock and the expertise to set it up so I wouldn’t have to fumble with it myself up on the roof. Sure, they might have the last CRT monitor sales terminals in the western world and antique tractor feed dot-matrix printers, but they know what they’re doing and you’re not going to get that kind of help at...

New plant owner and could use some advice!

18h ago

Hi all! New to the plant game and have gotten bit by the bug pretty badly. Went to Home Depot for a pothos and left with both a pothos and this guy because he was so pretty and I couldn’t leave without him (he even has a couple variations on some of the leaves!!). There was no label for what exactly this plant was, but after doing a bit of research, I learned this is a lipstick plant. Seems super healthy, got a few blooms coming in, leaves are nice and thick and very few areas of concern as far as I can see! Also came with a Globee planter which is neat. Been doing a bit more research after getting home, and I’d like a few tips if possible! So I want to try to keep this guy outside. Bi...

If you’re in the market for a new smoker check it out! Bronco 2 is 500 dollars before tax at Lowe’s and Home Depot.

My girl did so good on errands with me today

20h ago

Pup cup for being so good. We went to the pet store and Home Depot together, and she stayed right next to me and was so in tune with me the whole time. I’m so proud of her. We passed many other dogs and people with no reaction. She’s wearing her ecollar but I didn’t even have to use it she was so good. I think people might have thought she was my service dog

Guess I'll stick to Costco from now on

20h ago

I've been a shopper for a couple months and shopped at various stores with variable item availability. Kroger, Sprouts, Home Depot, Lowe's, CVS, Target, and Costco. It's been a learning curve with accepting certain batches and knowing which stores will be a **** shoot. I've thankfully been getting more comfortable at Costco and I live right near one too. I have a 5 star customer rating with various positive feedback. I'll just stick to accepting only Costco orders for a while. They do pay more and I can make my goal with just a couple batches, plus they open at 10am so I can create a better balance with my routine and putting in hours. Before I would clock in at 6:...

Heavy police presence at Riverside Home Depot

22h ago

Just left the store and an employee had to manually let me out. As I walked out I saw two cop cars in the front of the building (didn’t see any cops). There were lines of people outside the doors. I asked the employee what was going on and he just shrugged and said “we’re letting people out but not in.” As I turned onto Warren Ave I saw a third cop car guarding the employee-only entrance, and a fourth cop guarding the next available access road. What is happening?!

Lowe’s doesn’t honor discounts

22h ago

Lowe’s and Home Depot both used to offer 50% off on open bags of soil. I asked one of the reps who had a red vest on at my local store about it and he said it was still offered. I loaded my cart with a bunch of very open bags and got to the counter and they said they only do 10% on them now if they can just tape it closed. Well they should tape them closed if that’s the case. Unreal. Definitely converting back to Home Depot.

What's the best way to get in touch with Dewalt support in the US?

22h ago

I made the mistake of buying an extractor (DWV015), which unfortunately there are two types of this extractor, a type 1 and a type 2. One with WTC, and one without. The Dewalt USA online product page; has the type 2 users manual, and the reviews indicate that they are available. A bunch of ebay listings also indicate people in the US market are buying them here and even selling them. I can order it from Lowes or Home Depot and ship it to the store, but there is no way to ensure which type I get because they are all the same model number and same box. I have bought and returned two of these at this point and just want to talk to an actual US rep that might be able to help with this. Anyon...
