Would a different home depot carry different paint chips?

4h ago

I found 3 colours I liked online on behrs website but they didn't have the paint chips in store. I could drive 45 minutes to a different home depot if they do carry different ones. I should have asked when I was there lol. They were clary sage, sagey and mountain sage.

Yamaha Zuma 50cc Bugeye PAIR/EGR Emissions Delete

4h ago

After searching on and off for the past few years on how to delete the EGR/PAIR box on these bikes—and coming up short every time—I finally decided to just piece something together myself using a few parts from Home Depot. You can see in the photos how I did it and which parts were used. I wanted to delete this system because I’m getting an aftermarket exhaust next week and needed to get the bike ready for it. This post is for removing the PAIR system (often referred to as the EGR system) on 2-stroke 50cc Yamaha Zumas. Yamaha added this exhaust/air recycling system on the 2008–2011 “bugeye” models (possibly even late 2007) to help pass EPA emissions testing for the notoriously ...

Window Insulation / Fixing Drafty Windows?

9h ago

Hi all, ISO a renter's solution for extremely drafty windows. I'm in a pre-war two-family house with old radiators, windows probably haven't been re-sealed in at least a decade. I've heard the plastic shrink-wrap kits are a good solution, but the Home Depots near me are out of stock (not surprising). If anyone knows of 1) a hardware store in central/north BK with these on the shelves or 2) a better solution, sound off in the comments!

Handle crack advice

9h ago

Hi y'all! I am new to using an axe. Got this old one and replaced the handle with a new hickory one I bought at Lowe's. First time using it it cracked badly after splitting maybe a dozen logs. I'm guessing this isn't salvageable and I should replace it. Was I just unlucky with the handle I bought? Or are handles from stores like Lowe's and home Depot just generally garbage? Or maybe I made the wedge holding it in too tight? Thanks for any advice you have! I really enjoyed chopping up some logs with a tool I fixed up!

New dishwasher install question, concerns about floor

12h ago

Found out my dishwasher has had a slow leak for who knows how long. It sits directly on the subfloor, and found out due to some staining and swelling on the hardwood floor in front of it. Looking under the dishwasher, the subfloor looks stained, but not rotten. It doesn’t feel like I can push through it or that it’s been significantly damaged, but hard to tell with dishwasher still there. The unit is hardwired. I want to buy a replacement and have it installed (I’m not the most handy person). Have read not the best stuff from installs by the big box stores likely to buy from (Lowe’s, Home Depot, Best Buy etc.) though I’d have guessed they’d at least be insured. What’s the be...

where to buy the flat M12 battery for the heated jacket?

13h ago

I can't find anywhere that sells the flat M12 **48-11-2330** battery for the 2024 heated jacket. Does anybody have a link or want to sell theirs? I can't believe its not available in any of the Home Depot or Ace Hardwares I've tried. Can I use a substitute? This is what I need. One sells on Amazon fo r$180, which is 2X what it should sell for in the stores. **Milwaukee M12 Heated Gear Power Source battery App Control 48-11-2330 NEW**

Black Arc XLs at Home Depot starting to go on sale

13h ago

Unless my DC area store (Hyattsville) is a total anomaly, the black Arc XL dropped to $700 “in-store clearance price” today for the first time. Keep an eye out! Not as good as $540 for the white model, but there aren’t any of those within a 3 hour radius of me. I bought the new floor model because they offered me the stand for $10 if I grabbed both. $710 for the combo is a solid deal but not the best we’ve seen here (some people managed to get a $540 white floor model with the stand included). I can’t be too mad. For anyone local: they have two black XL new in-box for $700, and two NIB stands for $210. Plenty of full length covers, too. They bundle a free cover with any oven. Th...

DIYer looking for tile cutter for porcelain and seeking advice

14h ago

I'm tiling my bathroom floor, shower surround, and an accent wall all in porcelain tile. The floor and shower will be 12x24 tile while the accent wall is 12x47, half inch thick tile. My plan was to tackle the project using a combination of a manual tile cutter to handle all the straight perpendicular cuts and an angle grinder with appropriate blade (diamond?) to handle any L cuts or anything I can't do with the manual cutter. I won't need to do any angled cuts or miter cuts. It seems none of the stores in my area stock anything like Montolit or Sigma. I have access to Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, Floor and Decor, and Tile Shop. They all sell a lot of cheap cutters and it see...
