Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the The Home Depot Latest Community Discussions About The Home DepotI had a Big Lots vacate a shopping center I own in Jacksonville, FL. Here's the behind the scene walk through of ...4h ago# Behind the Scenes of a Vacant Big Lots: What Owners Actually Analyze After a Box Store Goes Dark I recently toured a vacant Big Lots in Jacksonville, Florida that Saglo Companies owns in the Mandarin submarket near San Jose Boulevard and Old St. Augustine Road. Instead of just looking at it as “30,000 SF vacant,” I wanted to walk through the actual thought process owners and leasing teams go through when evaluating how to reposition a former big-box space. A lot of people outside retail CRE see a dark anchor and assume it’s a disaster. In reality, the first question is usually: > This particular Big Lots had some characteristics that actually make redevelopment and re-tena... Is this container food safe?5h agoTotally didn’t think about this before I bought it. It’s the Vigoro Ordina container from Home Depot. I have serrano’s planted in it. Anyone know? Stylish homeowners of Madison, where did you get your breeze blocks?6h agoI’m in the market for some breeze blocks, but I don’t know where to get them. They don’t seem to be sold at basic stores like Home Depot and Menards. For fun, here’s a look at some of the breeze blocks of midcentury Madison houses: https://www.madisonpreservation.org/blog/2020/6/30/breeze-blocks 1/2” and 1/4” Tubing Compatibility6h agoHey folks, just wondering if anyone can confirm whether Irritec 1/2” solid and 1/4” drip poly tubing is compatible with Rainbird connectors. I believe the half-inch is not, but has anyone used emitters, goof plugs, etc. on the 1/4“? Or, have you used a Perma-Loc coupling to join Irritec (0.6”ID / 0.7”OD) and Rainbird 1/2” tubing without issue? I’m asking because in my area I can easily get Rainbird stuff at Home Depot, but getting Irritec requires ordering online from elsewhere. Trying to decide if I should go with Irritec for my second garden (already used in my first) or keep it simple and buy the local stuff. Thanks for your help in saving me a trip to the hardware store t... How’s your Memorial Day weekend going?13h agoGreetings from (checks sky) sunny Germany! It’s late Sunday morning and it’s a balmy 28C here (82F in freedom units) and I’m sitting in the backyard enjoying the weather (and a beer but that's our secret). Took my dog Toby for a walk this morning and he was an absolute butthead, but he had a blast and that’s what matters. I took him to the north side of Clay Kaserne\* where we hunted for rabbits in the tall grass, in the abandoned paintball field and among a small grove of trees. Although many rabbits were sighted, none were caught. Again. The boy dragged me through so much tall grass that the morning dew drenched me from about mid-thigh down. I wish they’d mow th... Another score at 50% off XGT at HD! (Plus tips on how to get the deal yourself)17h agoI posted yesterday about getting a GT200D drill set and the GSR01M1 rear handle circular saw for 50% off each at Home Depot since they are scaling down XGT products at most stores and figured I’d go back today to see if I missed anything. Sure enough up above the displays, at the top of the rack, in the Makita section, there were some more XGT products that showed out of stock online. I asked an employee if I could buy some of them and pointed at the ones I wanted and he brought them down. Got the GRJ01Z recipro saw and the GWT08Z impact wrench which both rang up for 50% off at the register! Just another tip that if you are looking for this stuff and knew of a store carrying XGT in the p... Mold issue18h agoI have some mold nothing to bad but it's been bothering me i just want it gone. And now I've already tried vinegar/water also tried Home Depot mold spray. Nothing seems to work and i see this on youtube. Is there anyone that tried this stuff? Thanks! Which inflator?19h agoI was looking at getting the M12 to keep in my trunk for emergencies. After seeing the M18 also hackable, I am now torn. Swinging wall mount/bracket for decorative wreaths20h agoSo I’m trying to do a garage project. We have several decorative wreaths for seasonal use. Out of season they are annoying as **** to store. I have a 6 foot gap on a wall in the garage and my vision was a rod running across and you hang them all essentially like you would in a closet. The issue comes where the biggest wreath is about 27 inches wide and at that point it sticks out far enough to be under the track of the garage door. Which could be fine unless…you’re tall enough you’d hit your head on it when you get out of your car on that side. Which is the case. So I need a swinging mount that I can hang wreaths on but also allows them to fold in a little rather than be directly per... First Day21h agoMonday will be my first day in a new store. I've been with Home Depot for five years, all in one store, mostly in Millwork. Tomorrow is my last day in the old store. I've learned a lot. I've had the privilege of working with some knowledgeable, caring, hardworking people. But it's time for a change. The new store is across town, about the same distance as the old store. It's a bigger, busier, shop than the old one. I'm trepidatious, while looking forward to new challenges and working with new people. How do I quickly and objectively determine if offers are worth taking?21h agoObviously, gas prices are very high, and I drive an 8 year old paid-off SUV that is lucky to get 20-21 mpg around town. The orders tend to be from restaurants that are within 3-4 miles of my home (good), but the deliveries themselves vary between 3-12 miles from the restaurant because I live in a “boom town” suburban sprawl and people also order from adjacent rural areas. I’m not taking the longer trips for less than $11-12, but the app keeps offering me $4-8 anyway (multiple times), making my AR very low. I’ve even seen $2-3 offers! I have not gone out in the past 2 weeks due to a health issue, but I am recovering and need advice and more money to pay my bills. I’ve heard people ... I'm having trouble making money..21h agoI'm having trouble making money. I'm 17 and I'm working a job at Pizza Hut and get paid $9 an hour. My father is constantly charging me rent which is literally my whole paycheck which is very unfortunate because I don't get to say for the things I need or want. I get by though, I take out a certain amount of money to pay for certain things like my phone bill or a couple things I want like Spotify premium or Crunchyroll (even though it's so easy to get these things for free since you know the internet.) but I'm not asking about what to do with the father situation.. Since it came out I think late Middle School I've always had my eyes on the steam deck. I... Palm Street Raid Trains: The Hype Express That Turns Your Love for Plants Into Overpriced Regret!23h agoPalm Street RAID TRAINS represent the peak of plant hustle culture disguised as community. They operate as a nonstop convoy of live sellers tagging each other in rapid succession, turning your feed into an endless infomercial where the real product is not rare houseplants or cactus but manufactured fear of missing out and your credit card information. Sellers crank up the hype machine, declaring every pothos, hoya, micans, alocasia, philodendron, or monstera cutting a limited edition unicorn straight from the jungle even though most came from the same big box suppliers or tissue culture labs. They shout that this one is so rare while casually ignoring the many other sellers on the exact sam... Rick Cardenas made $12MM while the avg worker pay was $22k1d agohttps://ips-dc.org/report-americas-20-largest-low-wage-employers-and-the-affordability-crisis/ Home Depot fittings for ACR?1d agoDoing some side work, new resi install, need fittings, assumed I would be outta luck until I found these. Anyone used Home Depot / Everbilt fittings for refrigeration? They advertise as being an ACR fitting, max operating pressure 779psi, so I don't see why not... Am I missing something? Didn't think I'd be finding what I need at a big box store Calcite PH neutralizer - Where do you guys buy it from?1d agoI checked the big box stores (home depot, lowes, etc) and plumbing stores and none of them carry it, even though they carry other water treatment items. Online orders for shipping from sites like Amazon brought the price up to over $100 per 50 pound bag. I finally found some water treatment guys that sold it near me for less than half that. I'm just curious if there's an alternative way of getting this for even cheaper. It’s my second post in this community, and I’m a bit anxious to share this. About four years ago, I left my home country. No need to go into detail here. I’m not okay with bombing innocent people, and I’m not shutting up about it + my job has quite literally been outlawed in my home country. I have at least three banned organizations on my CV, lol. There’s been a lot of grief and guilt, and I’m still not completely over leaving. It’s like a very bad breakup. Or like cutting off an abusive parent — knowing full well that you spent a larger part of your life with that person, and that experience also shaped you to a degree. I don’t normally like to talk abou... Troglodyte neighbor shits bricks over mailbox- drama ensues.1d agoHello, I definitely belong to this community after the debacle I went through this week. EDIT: someone pointed out that it is unfair to make fun of his height which he cannot control, and I agree. So he will be renamed ******** Von Fuckface instead of Shortie. We rent a nice house in a lovely neighborhood. Our neighbors are all lovely except for one. I will refer to this man as ******** Von Fuckface. This is gonna be long, strap in. Enjoy. Feel my rage emanating through the screen. ******** Von Fuckface is obsessive about his yard. He spends nearly every day outside blasting his annoying music and running around 20-40 power tools (or at least it sounds like it). I tolerated it because he w... Mystery Grafted Maple ID help needed!!1d agoHi folks. I have been a casual Japanese maple fan for decades, and finally decided I am going to take the hobby seriously. Cannot wait for my order coming in from Mr Maple!! I have a handful of maples already (Tamukeyama x2, Red Dragon, Seiryu, Emperor, Mikawa Yatsubusa, Bloodgood, Orangeola, Sango Kaku/Coral Bark) that I've collected from various garden centers, big box stores, and questionable websites. I moved to the states from my home in Japan a few years back, leaving behind my potted maples, which broke my heart, so I just got what I could as soon as I arrived. Now I am trying to be more discerning. I have this tree (pictured now, and when I got it 2 years ago) from Home depot ...
