College dorm bike storage

5h ago

I was struggling with space when storing my bike on dorm room floor. I didn't find good dorm room bike storage solutions online so I made my own. Went to Home Depot and got 3 hooks. 1 to hold the pedal and 2 to hold the wheels. Tied them all to the bed frame and voila! She's hanging up securely and out of the way.

Whole Foods floral bag, St. Petersburg FL

6h ago

This was my first Whole Foods floral bag. I bought one this week because I figured they'd be clearing away surplus Easter bouquets, but instead I got this great big Kimberly Queen Fern. It was bone dry and so ragged that I wasn't sure it was going to make it at first, but I gave it water and it's perked up a lot already. I think it will do well with some TLC. I love this! I do feel like I got something that would have been thrown away. I wish stores like Lowe's and Home Depot would do this with their surplus plants. I need to buy a big pot for it, so it could be a revenue generator for stores that sell both.

Big store vs. small carpenter for kitchen reno...

9h ago

My husband and I are looking to renovate our kitchen, new cabinets and updated counters and backsplash. We have a rough quote from Lowes and Home Depot, and are trying to stick to our \~15k budget. We got a quote from a very trusted local small business for about 22k, this gentleman has done fabulous work for my family before. We wanted to be pretty strict with our budget, and our home doesn't warrant a super fancy kitchen. However, I have been reading some negative reviews of Lowes and HD, and it seems like for 7K more we could get something custom and guaranteed to be quality. Are the big box stores "good" or are they "good enough?" I don't want to be throwing...

Need to weld generator onto trailer. Will this work?

9h ago

I have an ice cream trailer in which I sell homemade ice cream. Essentially the only thing being powered is the AC and lights and like phone charger or maybe an electric kettle. Not much that requires power. I currently have a predator 9500 regular generator not the inverter type. It is on wheels and is stored inside the trailer. When we arrive, we must roll it out, get it down and roll it to the side. It is super noisy and ****** heavy. I have a couple problems with this setup. First, I am fully physically disabled and almost entirely unable to do any of that myself or even help someone else do it without great risk of injuring myself. Second, I have a need for better accessibility for ...

Location: Tampa, Florida, USA Hello Reddit! I'd like to note I’ve given this dealership/franchise until Friday at 5PM EST to provide a clean settlement without a gag order in order to settle the sitaution. If they don't, I will provide their name, and will be going to the DMV Bureau of Dealer Services on Monday. Will update you all then. Back in August of 2024, I traded in a vehicle to one of the largest dealership networks (hundreds of locations within the USA). The transaction and dealership experience themselves were ok- nothing notable other than the usual uncomfortable negotiations and less-than-you-wanted trade-in value, but overall it seemed like a normal experienc...

10h ago

tips for storing bikes outside row home

10h ago

has anyone come up with a clever / optimal solution for securing their bike outside a row home? i fear just tying it up won’t be enough, and it’s a massive pain to bring and store it inside. i do have a parking pad, and i was considering getting some sort of little home depot shed if i can find something small enough but i don’t think ive seen any other houses doing this. i’d love to see any clever solutions!

I need exactly 4 inches of wood.

10h ago

I don’t really own any tools though. My washer and drier sit on a slab of concrete that is 4 inches high. It’s not big enough for the drier though - the drier hangs over by like half a foot. I want to just put something easy at the end of the concrete that will give the drier enough room. I’m not sure how to easily achieve this with wood from Home Depot. As far as I know a 4x4 is technically 3.5 inches on each side. Potential solutions: \-Could I stack a 4x4 and a 1/2 inch board? \-I don’t own the tools myself, but maybe hardware store can cut a 4x6 into what I need? \- maybe there is some existing thing like cinder blocks or something that are known to be exactly 4 inches tall ...

Atlanta Appliance Market Breakdown, and What I See as a Local Tech

13h ago

# I work in appliance repair around Atlanta (Alpharetta, Roswell, Sandy Springs, etc.), and I figured I’d share something that might help homeowners here. There’s a lot of confusion about **where to buy appliances and what happens after installation**, so here’s a real-world breakdown based on what I see daily. # 📊 Where people in Atlanta actually buy appliances From my experience, most appliances come from: * Big box stores like Home Depot, Lowe’s, Best Buy * Discount places like BrandsMart or similar scratch & dent stores * Online (Amazon, Costco, etc.) * Some local independent/high-end stores Big box stores still dominate, but Atlanta has a **strong discount mark...

Rewards money not working

14h ago

Hello, I hope someone can help me in some way because I’m about to turn from blue to Orange. I shop at Lowe’s constantly for my business. I tend to save the rewards money I get for personal purchases no involving my business. Half the time when I go in to use my rewards points, they do not work. As soon as I press the button to use in store, it suddenly has issues loading the page. Employees have never been able to help me with this issue. I don’t like being a problem and also don’t like making employees feel responsible for problems that come from their corporation. Rewards money on the app expires pretty quickly, and I have lost a fair amount because I just flat out can’t us...

Aqara Thermostat Hub W200 REVIEW Smart HVAC Control Meets Matter Hub Functionality

[BUY FROM AMAZON](https://amzn.to/4ctcqvD) The first smart home device I ever owned was a [smart thermostat](https://macsources.com/?s=thermostat). I was living in an apartment and wanted to try to have better control over the utility bills. It was a very simple “smart” thermostat and really only gave me the option of scheduling the HVAC system to turn on or off. It was basic control and smart thermostats have come...

Are the giant Halloween Skeletons still up near you?

17h ago

Or is it a Warren County thing? On our Main street, there’s a… 16 foot?… one that adopted a Santa hat in December and picked up an Easter basket in March. But plenty of others that have been left up as-is, I presume because the homeowners have realized they’re a lot easier to erect than disassemble and store. I could easily find a dozen without driving very far. So is this a rural thing, or do you see them in the bigger cities still, too? I do think it’s a newer phenomenon because the super gigantic ones just became mainstream at Trailer Supply, Home Depot etc just last year. Pic only marginally related: this family’s display is year-round and changes for every calendar even...

They're only a year or so old, probably came from a store like home depot or lowes. I cannot seem to find any exact matches

Greenhouse / nursery with carnivorous plants

18h ago

Anyone know of any greenhouses / nurseries/ garden centers (that aren’t Lowe’s, Home Depot, Walmart) that sell carnivorous plants (Venus fly traps, pitcher plants, sundew, etc.)? I’m hoping to find higher quality plants than the big box stores and support local businesses. I’m willing to drive a bit if there’s something further away. Thanks in advance!

Need help staking a recently separated Monstera, new to plants

20h ago

Hello all, I’m relatively new to plants and i got this monstera about 2 weeks ago from a local Home Depot. Big box stores love to plant multiple different plants into one pot and it had two different monsteras into one pot and yesterday i separated them. Now that they are separated i have a few questions; 1. I added a stake, did i tie the plant to the stake in the right spot? 2. The leaves are facing all different directions because they were grown with another plant, will they even out? and if they do how long will it take? 3. I have the Monstera infront of a big north facing window and although we’re entering spring/summer season, i live in an area that is not crazy bright or humid,...
