Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the The Home Depot Latest Community Discussions About The Home DepotI’ve never remodeled anything and have no idea what I’m doing2h agoI want to do a complete bathroom remodel including removing the tub and installing a new big shower. I’ve gotten 3 quotes so far. A few initial questions. \- Is it normal to be forced to buy fixtures through a showroom vs Home Depot or a similar store? \- Are tile and fixtures bought at Home Depot inferior to much more expensive fixtures or is it all aesthetics? I guess I’m trying to figure out what things are worth paying extra for and what things I can save on. \- How much should I budget for over the quoted price, 10%, 20%? I guess this would account for unexpected problems and time. Thanks! \- XGT cages gone from Home Depots clearancing them6h agoAt least in my area, the XGT items remaining on clearance have all disappeared overnight with the former XGT cages now containing only LXT tools. So if you were waiting for the "final" clearance price on these, for at least my area stores you missed them. 🤷♂️ Looking for Warehouse Shelving7h agoBasically I'm working on an art project in town and I need to make a warehouse set. I don't have much money to spend (under 1k) and I don't know where to find bulk shelves. I see of course the Home Depot type of stores that charge around 200 a shelf but I need as many as I can get for cheap. In a perfect world, I would find 8ft long shelves that are 6ft tall. I need somewhere around 10 of them. Any resources people have would be great, I don't know where to call. These could be really old, maybe even busted shelves that someone is just trying to get rid of. Anything helps. Extra Shelves7h agoI bought this bookcase from Amazon a couple of years ago. I use it for blurays and I am wanting to get a couple more shelves and pins. Does anyone know what should be the best way to get some? Contact manufacturer? Take one of the shelves to Home Depot and have them cut new ones to size? DIY - Wool ironing pad & shelving9h agoThank you to the user who asked about people's favorite things in their sewing room, it finally inspired me to clean up and take some pictures! The most expensive part was the cube shelving itself. I specifically needed something open-backed and on legs (so the heat from the baseboard heater can get through to the room), and found something on Wayfair for $99. If you're thrifting or have shelving of your own already, you're good. The important part is that your shelving isn't longer than your wool is wide. I used boiled wool yardage, the type for outerwear. You need 100% wool so it doesn't melt from your quilt-temperature iron. I went with boiled because it's... wondering if this is a good deal or should I wait? m12 3/8 stubby with battery and m12 3/8cordless ratchet10h agoWhen buying a tool in-store, how do you check if it’s actually a good deal?10h agoCurious how people here handle this. If you’re standing in a store looking at a drill, saw, battery kit, torque wrench, etc. in the $75–$300 range, do you usually price-check it before buying? I’m not talking about obsessing over every small purchase — more those cases where there are a bunch of similar kits and the shelf price looks fine, but you’re not sure if the same model or bundle is cheaper somewhere else. What do you usually check? A. Amazon B. Home Depot / Lowe’s / Walmart C. Acme / Northern Tool or other tool sites D Google Lens E. eBay sold listings F. manufacturer site G. coupons or upcoming sales or nothing, just buy it if you need it The part I find ... Do you compare prices online before buying fixtures/tools in-store?10h agoI’m curious how homeowners here make this decision. When you’re at Home Depot/Lowe’s buying something for a project, do you ever stop and compare the item online before buying it? I’m thinking about things like faucets, light fixtures, ceiling fans, smart thermostats, power tools, vanities, door hardware, or other items where the price difference could actually matter. The annoying part for me is how messy online results get — similar-looking item but not the same model, different finish or size, bundle vs single item, shipping changing the real price, sketchy sellers, sale price but no stock, and it’s hard to know if waiting a week would save money. Do you check this in the a... Advice seeking: Do you price-check tools while standing in the aisle, or just trust the shelf price?10h agoI’m curious how other people handle this. When you’re at Harbor Freight/Home Depot looking at a tool or a tool set, do you ever stop and price-check it before buying? I’m mostly talking about stuff in the $50–$300 range where it’s annoying to find out later that the same model, bundle, or a very similar one was cheaper online. What do you usually check? A Harbor Freight app / coupons BAmazon C Google Lens D Google search E Home Depot / Lowe’s / Walmart F eBay G YouTube reviews or do you just buy it if the price feels fair? Customer Started Making Threats Because He Opted To Wait In Paint As Opposed To Leaving And Going Elsewhere.10h agoHe threatened to call corporate and get people fired and/or possibly deported all because he was waiting in paint for 20 minutes and in spite of people being paged, no one ever showed up. Some people are flat out ridiculous. Gone seem to be the days when rather than waiting and/or making threats if someone wasn’t helped in a reasonable period of time, they’d simply leave and go elsewhere. They wouldn’t act like a second or third rate Home Depot store was “the only game in town.” Has anyone used this for spider mites and thrips?11h agoJust found out today my monstera has thrips and my prayer plant has spider mites. Looking to eliminate both of them at the same time and this spray claims to do that. Does anyone have experience with it? Is it worth the buy? Toilet Reliability — Replacing TOTO13h agohttps://preview.redd.it/5birleh2b41h1.png?width=3090&format=png&auto=webp&s=47896f25fa088299ad5b3fe87d304c7fa0bbe94f We spent 1k each on a pair of TOTO Aquia IV one piece skirted toilets when we did a massive renovation on our house a few years ago and they have been a disaster. Slow close seats breaking constantly, even after replacements sent from TOTO. Clogging drains constantly, requiring pulling the toilet, which is a PITA with their proprietary trap/flange system and floor connection. I've had it and want to replace them with something that is hopefully more reliable and easier to install/service. Looked at American Champion 4, as well as Kohler Santa Rosa... Does my plant need more light or water?13h agoI Bought this plant at Home Depot on May 6th. It was drenched so I removed it from the plastic pot and let the roots dry out overnight before planting it the next morning. It’s in 1:1 mix of miracle grow succulent mix and perlite. I watered it for the first time today- it has been sitting In a window or I’ve taken it outside to be in the shade. I haven’t put it out in direct sun because it was on the ground under the main display at the store, I didn’t think it was getting a lot of direct sun. I bought another succulent at the same time and it’s doing well. I have a few cuttings that are starting to root as well, this is the only plant that’s giving me trouble. I’m in Souther... What business type are we missing on Main Street that we could really use?13h agoOK here we go. This has been a thorn in my side for quite some time. And I have lived here in Hackensack for decades. I really like shopping in this neighborhood. I like that we have a walkable Main Street. I can hit Aldi, Lidl, get some great food, and get the occasional pedicure. But there are some businesses that are missing, and it drives me crazy. **All of Main Street is beauty salons, nail salons, barbershops, and food. Also add in a couple of smoke shops and dollar stores. That’s the entirety of Main Street.** There isn’t one single chain pharmacy anymore in the neighborhood. Rite Aid, which became Walgreens, is now gone. CVS has been gone for years. I remember being able to w... Add An Inch Of Pure Muscle To Your Forearms In 90 Days Or Double Your Money Back…15h ago# Add An Inch Of Pure Muscle To Your Forearms In 90 Days Or Double Your Money Back… A 5’4″ man in the 1920s could do things with his hands that 250-pound bodybuilders today can’t. The training method he used, called *steel bending*, is making a quiet comeback. On the boardwalk at Coney Island in the 1920s, crowds gathered to watch a man who had no business being impressive. Joseph Greenstein stood 5’4″ and weighed 140 pounds. He looked like a bookkeeper. He looked like someone you’d pass on the street without a second thought. Then he picked up a sixty-penny nail, thick as a pencil, and bent it with his bare hands. Not with a quick snap. Slowly. Deliberately. His entire bo... Where to buy starter vegetables and native plants?19h agoThe couple of plant stores/nurseries I called didn’t do either I do not want to shop at Home Depot or Lowe’s DC Career20h agoI got fired from home depot store for attendance well over a year ago. Can I go work at the distribution center? Maybe Socrates Was on to Something1d agoImagine human beings living in a HOA suburb-like residence. Its landscape is filled with grass and reaches all along the road. They have been there since their childhood, mowing lawns, unable enjoy or feel, forced to weedwack and leafblow--or they receive a fine. An industrious ant buries a violet seed in their lawn, soon a cacophony of purple and white blooms anew. They research #nomowmay. A Variegated Fritillary appears leading them past Home Depot to a native plant sale. They emerge with 30 new plants--milkweed is important for monarchs after all. An oak is planted where there was nothing but fescue. Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
