Home Depot clearance

4h ago

Hey guys! I haven't been stalking clearance sales at home depot for too long, but I feel like I've seen and heard about them a lot more lately. I also saw a comment on some post recently saying Makita may pull out of selling through Home Depot. Not sure if me seeing more clearance prices is just confirmation bias and I didnt remember the comment correctly, but does anyone know of the details maybe? Sorry if I'm wrong and going crazy. Thanks! p.s. does anyone know any other hardware stores that sell makita besides HD? Seems like that's the only place I find it around me

used water heaters on FBMarketplace? AO Smith or Bradford or State?

5h ago

My water heater just crapped out and looking to replace it asap. I'm pretty handy and feel I can do it myself. Of course, I could go to HomeDepot and get the cheapo Rheem, but there's some interesting used stuff on FB Marketplace. I dunno, would you grab one of these vs buying new from store? [AO Smith, brand new, 12 year warranty $550 ](https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/757034760802583) [State Proline $475](https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1118225660292192) [Bradford Defender with hydrojet, $300](https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/826558013487959/?referralSurface=messenger_banner&referralCode=2)

Head Spacers

7h ago

A little hack for a head spacer. I personally think PVC pipes make a great head spacer if you don’t have a softball. Softballs are great but I have noticed that it causes face flaring due to the spherical shape. If you want a cheap easy alternative, you can pickup a 3 inch pipe coupling from your local hardware store for less than $3. A coupling is a little wider than 3 inches because it’s supposed to fit a 3 inch pipe so if you don’t want your head to stretch that far, you can buy a section of 3 inch PVC piping for less than $10 and saw it down into sections giving you multiple head spacers. My local Home Depot had the wrong price markers so ignore the $10.

Kevin McCallister vs Tim Taylor vs Jackie Chan vs Mr Bean

8h ago

The battlefield is the world’s largest Home Depot, located in Vauxhall, New Jersey. The battle ends when three of the four combatants are dead. Kevin McAllister starts in the paint aisle, equipped with a tarantula. He has eight hours of prep time before the others arrive, but at the end of those eight hours he must return to his starting position. Tim Taylor starts in the power tool aisle, equipped with his tool belt. He has full knowledge of the store and where every product is located. Jackie Chan starts in the ladder aisle, equipped with a baby. He’s not looking for trouble, but understands the situation he’s in and that there’s only one way out of it. He cannot set the baby do...

Incorrect W-2 Tax Form

10h ago

Hello, people of Reddit. I have come here in my last hope of getting help. So I worked for The Home Depot as an international work and travel student from June 2025 to September 2025. In the store, we had one incompetent HR person who was assigned to deal with the W&T students. When we initially started working there, we didn't have an SSN, so they made a Home Depot account with a random SSN, and later, it was supposed to get changed once we got an SSN. So we got the SSN, the HR lady collected our SSN cards, and "changed" our SSN. Now, after 4 months have passed, I have received my W-2 tax form to get my taxes returned. What do I see on the W-2 tax form? I see an i...

New tank, where to get dirt in winter months

10h ago

I'm getting a new tank, which means I would like to switch out new dirt and sand. Home Depot is still carrying the play sand that I like but I cannot find top soil anywhere. I would usually get at my home hardware but they're only "available in store" and then when you go there they say "none left" because tbh I think they are too lazy to go dig them out on the skids in the back. Last year I ordered a bag went to pick it up and watched two teenage boys literally dig the skid out of the snow and gave me a frozen bag of dirt I felt bad but like don't sell it in the winter then 😂 I've looked on Amazon and it's only the reptile dirt for 50$ or...

Stores that are not big box stores selling indoor and outdoor gardening/bird seed type products?

13h ago

I need perlite, cactus mix, moss bark, vermicullite, mealworms, bird seed. My usual go tos have closed and I don't want to go to Lowes, Walmart, or Home Depot. The Grow shop on route 9 going into Hadley was closed Saturday when I tried to go there, I'm not a fan of Gardeners Supply. Gardeners, bird people, where are you getting your supplies these days?

Do I need it?

22h ago

My local home depot has this on clearance, I have a brushed Ryobi multitool and its okay, but also not great. I'm a diy homeowner and I do some woodworking in my spare time. So not super necessary but I've used the multitool more than I thought I would. $107 seems hard to pass up for this whole kit

Simple hose replacement turned into a 2 hour supply run where do you source these same day

1d ago

Helping a friend out for free and somehow turned what I thought was a 20-minute Home Depot run into a 2+ hour scavenger hunt. This is a simple hose/fitting replacement. Nothing exotic. Hit multiple stores and everyone had “almost” the right part or said they could order it. Meanwhile I’m burning time on something I’m not even billing for when I was just trying to help someone out. I’m young and still learning where the real supply chains actually are, but this one surprised me. Situation is handled for now, just frustrated at how hard it was to source something basic. If this is happening to me, I know guys I advise or manage are losing time to the same kind of stuff. So two que...

Not the Canadian Tire of your parents...

Canadian Tire on Erb in Waterloo. **Feb 2nd** \- my daughter bought a 6ft folding table at Canadian Tire On Erb. $67 - *not cheap* for a young mother She lugged it home, lugged it upstairs to the craft room, opened it and it was broken. Big crack down the middle Yuck. **Feb 5th** \- she drove it back to Canadian tire and exchanged it. Lugged the 2nd one home, upstairs, defective again. That's twice. **Feb 7th** \- bought a one at Home Depot instead (not buying a 3rd defective product), brought it home, setup - it's fine. Much better quality. **Feb 8th** \- returned the 2nd table that was defective. Expected empathy from Canadian Tire, "*sorry for the inconvenien...

For I am a little fatass that procrastinates like a mfer.

Howdy. I apologize in advance because I ramble and I'm terrible at telling stories. Might be completely pointless to post about but this was frustrating and embarrassing as ****. I bought a cot online about a month ago. Looked sturdy. Good & plenty reviews. Said it could handle my weight range. It could not. The frame is bent. Can't put it back right. Try multiple times every which way to fix it. I keep using it. I jerry rigg that *****. Regardless of my efforts, every night I get a little closer to the ground. It's extremely irritating. I check the deadline for the return. It's very close. No biggie, caught it in time. I go to UPS. I no longer have the ...

Does IC seriously let us thank a customer for reducing the tip?

1d ago

I just had this happen and I'm confused. I grabbed a nice order for Target $29 and change for 4 items and as many miles. It someone trying to order their Aunt who lives out of state, some candy, curtains/rod, and a space heater. I dunno why but she also tells me she's using a VPN to order from out of state (doesn't IC let you do this anyway?) So it's showing her a size of curtains they don't carry. I messaged her, sent a pic of the display w 0 spaces of that size, with a description, she approved the sub for the next biggest size. Unfortunately, we are mid an Arctic snap, and no one has any heaters left. I sent her this, and she asks if I can double-check if they h...

If you’re a houseplant shopper that frequents Home Depot and smaller, independent local greenhouses, you have probably seen a plethora of familiar looking plants with fancy, unique names under the Proven Winners brand.  The Proven Winners brand of landscaping plants have been around since 1992, owned by two US families that operated the the same company as two separate businesses. It has a good reputation of growing beautiful specimen plants. The houseplant division is called Leaf Joy, so that’s why both brand names appear on the houseplant pots we see in the stores and nurseries.  In October 2025, a third party bought a portion of the company. *‘The partners say the new ownership ...
