Best brushes for cutting?

Anyone have any info on their favorite brushes to cut in ceilings and corners? And what makes it a great brush? Preferably available from Home Depot or Lowe’s? Looking to paint this Sunday and would love to be able to run by one of those stores and start up.

Built corrugated metal raised beds 8 years ago for ~$110 each. Here's how they held up.

7h ago

Built three 8'x4'x2' corrugated metal raised beds back in 2018. Used galvanized steel roofing panels from Home Depot, redwood 2x4 corner posts, and star-headed exterior screws. Half a day to assemble all three. Eight growing seasons later: minimal surface rust only at cut points where I broke the galvanized coating. No warping, no structural issues. Still producing every year. Cost breakdown at the time was about $110 per bed without soil. At current prices it's closer to $148. Still cheaper than most pre-fab metal beds I see at the store. A few things I learned: \- The factory-cut edges aren't sharp at all. The edges you cut with a reciprocating ...

Need help looking for a stainless steel gas hot water heater that would last many years.

8h ago

Hi, I live in the US with hardwater and water softener machine. Hence I've gone through 2 regular hot water heaters (from a big box store like Home Depot) in the last 15 years. That's insanely short lifespan. I just learned that stainless steel hot water heaters could last decades. I don't mind paying more and would love to try it. Can you guys recommend a good SS gas hot water heater to replace my 40 gallon tank that just die? What to look out for? Can any plumbers install it? Thank you.

Which stainless steel gas hot water heater would you recommend?

Are there any local stores that would be a good place to outfit my house with plants? My box-store baby

Hello, I have been fascinated by bonsai since I was 12 years old and made many ill-conceived attempts at starting trees from cuttings and seed. As an adult with my own money I've tried to take up the hobby in earnest. I've had my difficulties, of course, but today I'd just like to share my success with someone who will appreciate it. I bought this Tiger-Bark Ficus from Home Depot about three years ago. First photo was a few months later, second is today. Third is the wonky branch I cut off and transplanted about 2 years ago, and has become a stout little tree with tons of potential. Just wanted to share! I know they need a lot of work but I tried to stay hands-off last year ...

Please Help Installing 3 Way Dimmer Switch

11h ago

Recently changed out a ceiling light for a chandelier but having difficulty with the new dimmer light switch. The old smart switch works but has 5 wires coming out the back (white, green, black, red and blue). I attached the green(ground) white(neutral) and black(line) wires leaving the remaining blue and red(traveler) which I thought we both travelers but the diagram says it is a load(blue) wire. But I only have slots for travelers...does this mean the switch is not compatible? Attached diagrams. It doesn't seem to have a path for the load switch

Wyze V2 Floodlight Cam (WYZECFL2) complete dud- what is the problem?

11h ago

Cars in the neighborhood suddenly being vandalized by some bored youth, he has not been caught. So I drove 40 miles to a Home Depot and bought a Wyze V2 floodlight camera to replace the motion light where cars are parked. Meanwhile my father passed away and I have to go to his funeral for several days about 350 miles away. I'm under a lot of time pressure to get this camera working before I leave the vehicles as fodder basically. I have had Wyze V3 cameras and they've worked fine, but this has been a complete nightmare, I've been trying all day long to get it to show live video. Is anyone else having problems with these cameras? After struggling with two AI "...

I took it all. Crates and crates of passive components, Arduino stuff, connectors, breadboards, wire, etc. We don't use it every day but we do use it occasionally and it's been great to have that resource to draw on. But it's been a mess, and things have slowly gotten more chaotic, largely stuffed into cardboard bins on a wire shelf in a closet in our office: https://preview.redd.it/n5n54cp6jhng1.png?width=3318&format=png&a...

Quick and easy DIY ebike ramp ideas?

15h ago

I got an ebike in November and it's been great. A small snag is that it weighs @ 70lbs . . . and it's a little tough for me to heft it up the 4 front steps leading to my apt. from the street. It's a 'step through' style bike and without the crossbar it's a little awkward to grasp plus it's tail heavy, etc. I can do it but I've fallen once, etc. Is there a known "quick and easy" ramp solution I can pick up from a 'Home Depot' type store – like a piece of corrugated steel something or other? I have skills and tools but do not want to go far into "project mode" if I can help it. - thanks!
