It's not a great life, ...6h agoBack in 2015, I began having dreams about a sea cove, or maybe river inlets (or whatever it's called). The shore is steep, with large rocks, pine trees, and multiple small peninsulas. One area opens up to a sort of boat ramp, with a small brick lighthouse next to it. The "ramp" is more like a one laned road going into the water, and it's on a steep angle, similar to the other topography. Probably a 40° angle at least. If you're coming out of the water, perhaps 20 feet up/out, the lighthouse/small house is on the right, with a small parking lot that parks 3 to 5 cars. So, it's small. Continuing up the road, perhaps 2,000 or 3,000 feet or so, it opens up into a l... Brought a new grill. I want to secure it to my house (brick exterior)9h agoSorry if not allowed, but I brought a charcoal grill and I'd love to store it outside, but I cant seem to find a good anchor or anything ideal for security. I'd rather not trust a ground anchor, and I've got the tools to go into masonry but it seems like I'm the only person on the world that wants to just chain this thing down. I know about Anchorhog but Lowes/Home Depot near me dont have any in stock. Why are water softener costs so varied between a big box store and a water softener company?11h agoBought a house with an ancient water softener. When I had a plumber come out during the inspection period, he advised me to set it to bypass (so it didn’t gunk up my pipes with resin). I did just that after purchasing the home. My question is, if the house is already plumbed for a water softener, why can’t I just buy one from Home Depot for under a thousand and pay a plumber a couple hundred bucks to install it? Everywhere around town charges thousands for a system (that inspector plumber was like, “oh, we’ve got a great one for $6,500, and that covers install!”), but how can the price points be so different? What am I missing here? I haven’t moved in yet, but I want to have ... My First day as a Spark driver11h agoFirst Day driving spark. I made $88 + 1 $6 tip in 4 hours, but ended up an hour from where I started so 5 hours driving. total miles driven - 110. only 30 min downtime. i used 6 gallons of gas at $4. not really great but I feel like I made a mistake by accepting my last order. I started by accepting a home depot order that made me wait 30 min to start. made $7 going 4 miles. next was a Walmart shop and deliver that took me 17 minutes to shop and 25 min to deliver. that paid $22 + the $6 tip. i then took a 7 stop order that paid $60. bunch of ridiculous large stuff. ten bags of mulch, 2 full size trashcans. the final stop was 35 miles from the store. i ended up using 2 hours and... Tip your convenience store cashier?12h agoWell it finally happened. A convenience store cashier pad asking whats my tip? Y it was on the ground floor of a hotel but still... wth is happening? Why not the grocery cashier or 7-11 cashier- of course theyre no less entitled to it and no corporations want to pay them a living wage so 25% coming to a target/7-11/walmart/vons/kroger/ikea/home depot/lowes/etc near you. SOS - what replacement do you suggest I buy?13h ago# are these the correct things to buy? maintenance team is going to come over and help me. I don’t need anything fancy looking, but good quality. what can I buy (Home Depot, Lowe’s, ace hardware) as replacement parts to have ready when they come to fix this? disclaimer the hot water is running (over a month) and is a nightmare - maybe running up my bill and who knows what else! Any suggestions on parts / kits to buy appreciated. Trying to find an adapter is driving me crazy14h agoI bought an extender for my bathroom faucet and I assumed it would work out of the box. Now...I have spent nearly 5 hours trying to install this thing. Our faucet has deep MALE embedded threads, and this extender I bought is also MALE I have been traveling to Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Rona and Walmart trying to find a Female to Female threaded coupler or a 15/16-27 to 22mm adapter without success. Do they even exist or are sold in stores? The problem originates from the fact that 15/16-27 is a North American measure, and 22mm is an European/Asian measure. And apparently, they are not even interchangeable. TLDR; : spent 5 hours looking for an internally threaded female to female adapter... Help sourcing a Price Pfister part from older unit15h agoThe en-suite bathroom in our house was likely added in the early 2000s (a guess) and fitted with Price Pfister faucets, spouts, etc. The tub spout had been leaking, and after swapping it we discovered the problem was likely from the cartridge/valve itself. Photos included to show the rust and putting on both the metal bushing and black cartridge itself. I’ve also included a pic of the shower setup too for reference. Since I don’t know the model number, can someone point me in the direction of the replacement? I’ve seen grey ones but not sure if that’s the same as the black that we had. We were able to get rid of some of the rust, but it’s only a band-aid and not the full replacem... How to rekey rekeyable Defiant?17h agoHi! Does anyone know how to rekey it? I've learned from the internet that Defiant isn't the best locking system. The best in the USA are Kwikset. Anyway, I already have 3 doors, and I'd like to have 1 key instead of 3. Craftsman lawn mower with issues19h agoI have a Craftsman lawn mower that I purchased several years ago when Sears still had a store in my town. The mower is approximately 8 years old but has been very lightly used. Recently, I’ve been experiencing an issue where the mower intermittently refuses to start. When it does start, it runs somewhat rough, as if it may stall, although it is still able to complete the job. However, if I shut it off for any reason, it will not restart immediately. If I wait a few hours, it will usually start again. Over the years, I have kept up with routine maintenance, including changing the oil, air filter, spark plug, and blade. Based on these symptoms, could this indicate a faulty ignition coil? ... build america buy america compliant toilet19h ago### Build America, Buy America Compliant Toilets #### General Recommendations - **Toto Toilets**: Often praised for their quality, durability, and performance. What is wrong with my sons Jade Jewel Dracaena?21h agoMy household has recently acquired an interest in plants, so we have very little knowledge but are trying to learn, so my 9 year old son picked out this Jade Jewel Dracaena from Home Depot about 1-2 months ago. He has been giving it water every Wednesday, I'm not sure how much exactly, I think it varies each week. It was originally sitting in a SW facing windowsill getting around 5 hours of direct light but now sits in indirect light. It is still in the same pot/soil that came from the store. When I lifted it out I noticed the white dots on the roots and about 1/4 tsp of water in the bottom of the pot since last Wednesdays (3/25) watering. I also got a small whiff of an unpleasant s... Hd risks22h agoHere’s the simple flag version: Flag this: The Home Depot just elevated “raids” into a top-tier risk in its latest 10-K. That’s not normal SEC filler. It now explicitly warns that “civil unrest, raids, protests” around stores could hurt traffic, hiring, morale, retention, sales, and brand reputation — and this risk factor appears right at the top of the filing. Why it matters: when a company moves a risk factor up the list and adds unusually specific language, it usually means management/legal thinks it’s become materially more relevant. In plain English: Home Depot is signaling that store-adjacent immigration enforcement and the fallout around it are now a real operat... what is on my airline tubing?1d agoI am in the process of cycling my tank using some of my bf’s donor bacteria from his healthy freshwater shrimp tank. I set the tank up with two different sized gravels, one from the fish store and one from home depot that i rinsed around 15 times. I was looking at my tank today and i noticed this on the tubing for my filter. my top two guesses are that it might be something related to water hardness from the rocks in the tank as i smelled a slight mineral smell before i cycled it, however i don’t think i smell it anymore after having added plants and run the filter for about a week and a half, but could this be a result of hard water? my other guess is that it might be a kind of algae?... Recommendations on nurseries with veggies1d agoHey everyone, im looking for recommendations on a good nursery to get some veggie and potentially fruit starters/teens to grow this spring. I wanna avoid the big box stores like home depot who only sell Bonnie and miracle gro plants. I'm hoping to support a mom and pops venture, but most/all of the independent nurseries seem to be just landscaping plants. Pic of my current basil army for attention. Gotta chop them back for pesto asapppp. ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
