Where do you guys usually purchase the materials for your jobs?

5h ago

Curious to know, do you consider online purchases or going to places like Home Depot or others? Also, do you research prices from online stores before getting them from a local supply store in the inventory?

Picked up the 2563-22-3453-20 combo while it was on sale on Home Depot. With my MIL discount it came out to $372 OTD. I couldn’t pass it up at that price. Up until now I have been running different tool brands based on what I could buy cheaply. For my drill driver, impact driver, cordless ratchet I used the 12V SKIL. Got all three for under $100 with a single battery a while ago. Then I purchased a Ryobi P262 and PBLIW01 for about $60 combined from a local auction that deals with store returns. Then I purchased and rebuilt a Ryobi 4ah battery for about $20. Overall I didn’t mind being so fragmented between brands due to the fact that I was in on all my tools for less than $200 and th...

Looking for Local Deals

Are all the sales only happening at Home Depot stores? I do not have one close, but there is an ACE Hardware that sells Traegers. Worth a shot?

Are Home Depot employees buying clearance Traegers?

16h ago

I found a timberline xl on clearance in so cal. Called to confirm the store had it. Lawn and garden employees had to search for it and did locate the grill. I drove an hour to get it and it sold before I got there. Got all the way back home while on the phone speaking with a manger only to find out they had another that I immediately made a second trip to that store after having them put a “hold” on it by the manager herself. Once I got there it was nowhere to be found. The only way the unmarked, new in box grill that no one had any idea even existed in the store… magically SOLD is if an employee bought it. That isn’t impossible but highly unlikely to happen once. But twice?? Beyond ...

Looking for matching baseboards

16h ago

My house was built in 1969 and I had to do some repairs and need to replace some small sections of baseboard. I've been to Home Depot, Rona, Cosmorama, and 3 independent flooring/moulding stores with no luck finding a match. Any ideas of where else I could find it? Or do I just have to replace the whole thing? 2 3/4" height, 1/2" width

I keep track of the items we spend on updating, fixing, renovating, or "but for this house we would not have needed this item" expenses. I thought this would be helpful for people trying to figure out how much they should budget for ownership. We could have used it on our first house. I do this because I like to know how much went in when/if we sell and to have hard-ish numbers on what our house is actually costing us per year. For context: multiple US Southeast cities How I have done this has evolved over the years, so our first house I primarily tracked larger purchases. At this point I now pull everything from Lowe's, HD, hardware stores on our cards at the end of the yea...

Need advice on butcher block desk build

20h ago

Hello, I know virtually nothing about woodworking. Im trying to select a top for my desk and it seems like a popular budget option is getting a butcher block from Home Depot/lowes. So I did some searching and found this - https://www.homedepot.com/pep/Hampton-Bay-6-ft-L-x-25-in-D-Finished-Engineered-Walnut-Butcher-Block-Countertop-with-Standard-Edge-PWORAB386351880/318686509. Some searching on /r/woodworking showed that this a “fake” butcher block. If that’s the case, is it bad to use? I’d like to keep this under $300 and I’m having a hard time deciding on things like wood type, etc. Some pointers on any red flags when inspecting wood in the store/other tips would be very app...

Home depot jobs in Southern California seem very competitive!

21h ago

So i have had two interviews in two different stores here in southern California (orange county) and didnt get a call back, Ive reached out to them and they said they went with other candidates! so yeah it seems like trying to get a job at home depot here in California seems like trying to get into a top financial firm or something.

Pro Ambassador/Pro wholesale rollout: smart growth move, but what about associate compensation?

21h ago

I’m curious what other associates think about the new Pro / wholesale discount program and the Pro Ambassador role, especially from an employee-retention standpoint. From a business perspective, this is a smart move. A free wholesale-style discount for contractors is a big competitive swing. Low friction, immediate savings, easy category switching, it’s clearly designed to lock in pro spend and grab market share. No argument there. Where I start to question things is how the labor side is being handled. A lot of associates being tapped as Pro Ambassadors are seasoned and knowledgeable. And now we’re being shifted away from tasking and into roles that are explicitly about: Approach...

New Masterbuilt Gravity 800

22h ago

I saw a post on here last Thursday saying home Depot has these marked down from $900 to $275. Went to the local store who had 1 left pre assembled, but it was obviously left out in the plant section all summer. It had some minor rusting on the bottom, missing power adapter and a few minor cracks in the grey plastic on the side and front tables. I was able to talk them into another $100 off, so $175. Smoked some spare ribs over the weekend. The right side near the firebox runs hot. It was set to 250, but right side was reading 325 on my ChefIQ thermometer. Overall I'm excited to get used to smoking on this thing.

I will not continue doing Home Depot

23h ago

Recently, DD has been giving orders that are combined HD and a restaurant. They have to do this because HD doesn't do tips. You are getting base pay to go into a big box store, wait for customer service to help you and than go deliver all for base money and no tips. I called dasher support, very upset about this, and ordered they block me from HD. The AI will say there is no way to do that ask for a human. All they have to do is block you like the store requested you be blocked.

Cvs Pharmacy

1d ago

What's up y'all I've drove a few gigs mainly home Depot and CVS front store items , I have the lil pharmacy badge and I guess I was just kinda curious of what to expect , is it any harder to pickup ,I guess what I am asking are they anymore difficult to pick up and drop off than a normal package

Electrical mod (outlets, switches, etc).

1d ago

Maybe it's just my store, but whoever designed the mod for outlets and switches should be sent to a firing squad. There is absolutely no organization to it whatsoever. Both Lowe's and Home Depot have displays of the items, with the matching items for purchase right underneath them. Everything is sorted by type and color. https://preview.redd.it/8wlc86fisahg1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2eacc100d7a8f8f4a213fad82adca0fc375b2ca7 At my store, there is no organization. There is no display. Switches are next to outlets next to switches. You might have almond colored switches then white outlets and then black GFCI's all on the same shelf ...

Random mail from Home depot (terminated Employee)

TLDR: Resigned in June after being put on a final. Worked there for 1 year 7 months In October was told I can come back because they need my help 😐. Put in an app but did not get my offer yet(Interview will probably be skipped since I known at the store) I already got my W-2 and the letter images look different in size. What could this be?

M12 XC5.0 High Output Battery 2-Pack deal

1d ago

I came across this 2 pack battery deal on Home Depot and thought I would share. [https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-12V-Lithium-Ion-XC-High-Output-5-Ah-Battery-2-Pack-48-11-2450S/326840029](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-12V-Lithium-Ion-XC-High-Output-5-Ah-Battery-2-Pack-48-11-2450S/326840029) It comes out to be about $59.50 per battery before sales tax. I haven't seen it lower elsewhere right now. The second cheapest place currently is Waysource at $66/battery. Personally, I didn't really need it yet, but I sold my XC3.0 2-pack that came with my caulking gun for $60 on offer up, and had $75 left on a $95 gift card that home depot gave to me for a delaye...

Saw this 2 pack deal just now on and thought I would share in case anyone else is interested. It comes out to be about $59.50 per battery before sales tax. I got rid of the XC3.0 batteries that came with the installation drill/driver and the XC3.0 2-pack that came with thee M12 caulking gun, holdi...
