Edison base fuse holder

2h ago

I am looking for a Edison base fuse holder I’ve googled and searched local hardware stores. The guy at Home Depot said they just stopped carrying them. Anyone know of where to get them. I’m in Alberta Canada. Would rather not replace the panel. Just the holder is loose and before I go tightening it I’d like to have a spare one on hand. Thanks

Stolen TA-50 / Personally Owed Gear

2h ago

Sup bros. Had all my issued and some personally owned gear stolen out of my Public Storage unit last week. Literally every single piece of issued gear, several stocked M8 Aid Bags, my Ferro concepts plate carrier, lite fighter tents & rucks. They were stored in rolling tool boxes & yellow-black Home Depot totes. APD wouldn't even come on scene lol & Public Storage refuses to help their investigation. If anybody sees anyone attempting to sell it help ya boy out and hit me or Austin PD's 311 up. Yes I have insurance but money won't replace the deployment memories, pictures, awards and coins they stole. Austin area. All size Large/XL and multicam. DONT STO...

Trying to replace old lock

4h ago

Hello lock gods! I inherited a condo from my grandmother that has a security screen on the front door. The current locks are Schlage double cylinder deadbolts. There are two of them. Building was built in '84 and she bought in '87. As far as family knows, she's never changed them either. Lowe's/Home Depot has all the same locks and none of them fit. The cylinder part of the deadbolt doesn't fit. I'm not where to find these apart from maybe Amazon? So just checking to see what you all say. Something I noticed is the gate has circles for the slot to insert while all the others I've seen at stores have squared entries for the deadbolt too. We joke that she ...

Western MA dog friendly venues

5h ago

Looking for third spaces in the western/central MA area that are dog friendly. Bars/Restaurants/coffee shops/book stores/ etc. I trained dogs in FL for 10 years and there’s no shortage of places to work with clients, I plan to start up again here in MA but have been having a really hard time finding places that are dog friendly outside of state parks. MA trainers, are you primarily working out of facilities? If your not, What’s your game plan for the winters? Private lessons in FL generally started at a clients home, then we would go to a public park nearby their home, then usually somewhere like a shopping center/Home Depot, and usually would finish off at the clients favorite thi...

Why is my dog specifically and exclusively scared of local pet stores?

5h ago

I have a two year old rough collie. She’s well bred and I know for a fact that she has never experienced abuse or an overtly negative situation in or around stores. She can be a touch nervy, but not terribly and she recovers quickly 99% of the time. I do a lot of training with her and she goes into and behaves perfectly in tons of pet friendly stores. She’s been to Petco, Petsmart, Pet Supplies Plus, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Bass Pro, Home Goods, and lots of small and tight dog friendly stores at the mall. These stores obviously have a wide range of flooring, smells, lights, and size. The worst she ever acted was in a Dick’s when we got too close to an escalator and it scared her. She ...

Why is my dog terrified of specifically and exclusively local pet shops?

5h ago

Please let me know if this isn’t allowed and I’ll remove the post. This is about my pet dog, but I imagine if anyone would have experience with this sort of thing it would be people training PA. Any stores have a sign like this or similar in stock?

Home Depot doesn’t have it. Ordering online takes really long although it might be my only option.

Local Christmas Tree Lot?

8h ago

Hey, all. Any recs for local business selling precut Christmas trees? I'd rather not give my money to a big box store like Home Depot if I can avoid it. I'm in North Buffalo. Cheers!

Crazy landlord please help

8h ago

So basically I'm very confused by my situation and I want to know what my options are in case I need to escalate it. 2 weeks ago the dishwasher broke in the apartment I'm renting. I emailed my landlord explaining the situation and they said they want to replace it. They asked me for measurements and went to the store to see what is available. Through the entire process I have been trying to stay helpful to the best of my ability. I gave my availability, took all the measurements and helped in the process of picking the dishwasher that would fit. I also was at home to receive the dishwasher from Home Depot and I oversaw the installation. During the installation process, the techn...

Cane Holder for Wheel Chairs

9h ago

A two-foot section of 2" PVC pipe, a 4" hose clamp and a 1/4" x 3" bolt or lag screw long enough to go through the tube at the bottom make a very good cane holder for any wheelchair or transport chair. The fitting at the top of this tube is a reducer that acts as a handy funnel to guide the cane into tubes smaller than 2". Home Depot and Lowes builders supply stores carry these tubes already cut to length for under $3. Every wheelchair user needs a cane, as having a cane makes so many things easier to reach.

Cold weather out of house toddler options?

10h ago

The last 5 years of my nanny career have been in a state with very tolerable winters due to yearly sunshine and reasonable temps other than big storms and flukes. I’m back in Chicago working in Lincoln Park area (bonus if you have direct ideas for this area!) and am not used to the infant/toddler world with such brutal weather! NK 8 months and NK 15 months (nanny share) They are on opposite nap schedules, but we are cooped up and I want to bring some ideas to the parents for 1-2x a week we can get out for the NK 15 month if NK 8 will carrier nap for us. NK 15 doesn’t tolerate strollers for more than ~30 min right now (working on it), so long walks for NK 8’s naps aren’t a great o...

Home Depot coworkers in my store always make sure to look out for each other!

11h ago

For context I work in the tree lot. Tree lot is the outside area that we do to cut trees. I usually sit outside all day and it’s been pretty cold. Coworkers came over and gave me some hot coca and said there’s soup and grilled cheese inside for me whenever I want to go in. They told me to make sure I keep warm because it’s cold outside. Here’s the little gift they gave me!

Locally-owned hardware stores?

11h ago

I am tired of spending my money at big box stores like Home Depot and Menards. Does anyone know of a good local hardware store? There used to be one next to Ursa Minor in Lincoln Park, but they closed.

Insulated work gloves recommendation

11h ago

I work at a Home Depot where a majority of what I do every day is take shopping carts into the store. The store provides insulated rubber dipped work gloves but I still often get too cold while out in the parking lot. I tried ski gloves a few days ago, but they didn’t work very well because my hands kept slipping. Does anyone have any recommendations for gloves like this?

Tips for USians

12h ago

Hi All. First time poster, long-term US-based attempter of "divesting in place:" My basic rule of thumb is to buy international if I can, then local, then blue state, then red state as a last resort. I also consider other things but let's just get to the list: *Holiday gifts*: Because I also don't want to pay tariffs, I'm excited that the ones on **coffee** (esp. Tim Horton's) and **chocolate** are gone, and as far as I know there's never tariffs on foreign app subscriptions like **Duolingo, Yousician, Spotify & Sony**. (The first time Trump got elected I did my **holiday shopping while on pre-planned foreign trips** to Canada and Costa Rica.) *...

Our DIY hydroponic fodder system

12h ago

We've been working on a DIY barley fodder system for the past month or two and seem to have it all sorted out now, and just wanted to share our progress. The setup cost around $500-$600 CAD or so to put together. Most of that is the shelves ($230 at Home Depot) and the trays (boot trays from Costco at $10 each). The rest is the PVC tubing (we used tubing for a central vacuum system rather than plumbing, since it's a little cheaper), lights (scored some on clearance), and the odds and ends like connectors and caulk and such. We experimented with a few different routes before committing to scaling it up, but simple seems to work best. One hole is drilled at the end of each...
