I must have gotten this when dumpster diving at my favorite RadioShack store. It’s from 1982! Slim Cordless phone, Wegmans?, pre-2010.17d agoThis is going to sound weird but when I was much younger somewhere pre-2010 I went into I believe a Wegmans grocery store (in Syracuse, NY or surrounding area) in the seasonal section I saw a slim cordless phone rather than the traditional three button row it had a two button row, I don't remember what order the buttons were in but I attempted to approximate the way I think they were in my drawing. I can't remember if there was multiple colors, I want to say there was but I don't think so there had to of been only one color way. it was sort of around the same time that vTech came out with their multicolored transparent line and I have absolutely no idea what the brand was. I w... My Take on Mike's Storytelling - its obvious...here's why...18d agoI am already seeing theories that Mike is a master DnD story teller/writer and this is his way of coping. It's left to interpretation, Duffers doing this for viewership, etc. etc. Super, super true. Totally get it. Here's the thing... Mike NEVER saw Eleven get her powers suppressed from the acoustic/sound based military weapons. Never. So if he's such a good story teller, then why would they cut to (and show) Eleven, invisible, walking through the gang and the military crowd and once she is in the Radioshack store she is obviously, and visibly, shaken up and hurting from what she just walked through - she comes to rather quick but if you watch it again she acts the same as ... the preamplifier of today is the bass preamplifier and i;;m not sure but its not that hard to say boss gl100 is surefire...18d ago1 the neve preamp is not too bad but its so bad i cannot tell you why they are still doing the thing they do today which is to make a lot of people cringe at how normal they sound through the devices of yorehand;they do nothing but do anything but this thing is so bad i know that you know nothing about it but its the same thing as a mackie mixer from 2020s and i am positive of this for real as they all share components just think im not that bad and its that bad family;; great to know you mac demarco read these and has all the same stuff i said in the previous posts even has my insane gl100 idea behind the scenes sort of 2 the main idea behind tape machine music is to use the gl100 on a bas... I just found my owner's manual for my Realistic Amplifer I bought from Radio Shack back in 1979.19d agoI loved this amp. I used it almost daily from 1979 till two years ago when it finally died. I ***** to lose it. Weighed a ton, but the sound was rich and clear. This lasted for almost 45 years. You can never say Radioshack built junk, because my amp was proof it didn't. I miss my Radioshack. It was my go-to store from the late 60s till 2017 when mine closed. Now they will be greatly missed. Are there any big-box stores--particularly the barely-alive ones--that you guys find worth picking? ...They depress me.22d agoThere are so many of these big retail chains whose existence baffles me--whether it be the usual mall franchises or anchor stores or standard suburban retail-**** spots: Kohl's, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Five Below, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble. Even the couple of times I've stopped into a Target, I've thought, "What is the point of this store?" [Though I do like the IDEA of malls and the cornucopia of consumerism being on display like a very organized, air-conditioned bazaar...I just never have the urge to go visit that--and cannot really comprehend why most of them even exist.] ...Anyway, as they all, theoretically, die out, there ought to be flipping po... RadioShack Still Exists? Exploring Indiana Towns That Feel Like The 80s & 90s & a Video Rental Store28d agoThis one was terrible. Overlaying music and showing closeups of batteries and earphones. Truly riveting. He’s trying to drop lame, barely there or straight up false connections about “Stranger Things” for the clicks and algorithm—badly. He’s back home with his mama. The only thing that made my ears perk was at the very beginning. He introduces himself as simply, “Jay.” Sans Tampa. Maybe he’s trying something out? Who knows. Us Tampa folks would be thankful. 📍 No view link below. where to buy touch screen flip phone37d ago# Where to Buy a Touch Screen Flip Phone If you're in the market for a phone that combines modern technology with nostalgic design, a touch screen flip phone could be your perfect fit! Applied to GS, is it worth it?48d agoI am well aware of Gamestop's reputation for their treatment of employees and customers, but I submitted an application for an asst. store manager position, and I want to hear your opinions about my specific situation. I currently work in a much larger retail store where about 50% of my job is processing and packing Amazon returns. - 30-minute commute - $13/hr - 10-21 hrs/wk - Usually closing shifts (4-9) but ocasional 8am shifts ( =C ) I **** it. I don't feel respected or liked by the manager. My coworkers are friendly enough, but many of them are young, and tasks often get completed in a lazy manner that makes my job harder to do correctly. I was in my local Gamestop to get ... Need help finding an obscure game from my childhood55d agoI know this is a long shot, but you never know. When I was a kid (early 2000s), I would always go to the Radioshack in the mall and play this racing game on a test computer in the store. All I remember is that you drove a silver car with a blue stripe on the side. You would also drive on a road that would go through farmland. The car could also get damaged and there was a key on the keyboard that would cause the car to jump or flip. Any ideas? "Greeking" is the cinema / tv set-dressing technique of artistically applying colored tape or labels to logos and brand-names in order to (on screen) make the item recognizable as the item the actor is interacting with (drinking a beer, etc) but without running afoul of branding or attack-lawyers. Hawkins Map64d agoHello, everyone! First of all, thank you for letting me share this. In honor of the series finale, I created a map of Hawkins. I really enjoy creating maps for different worlds (Ice and Fire, Harry Potter, Star Wars), but Hawkins proved to be quite a challenge. The biggest problem was that the maps appearing in the series were inconsistent and sometimes even contradictory. As a result, I focused on "piecing together" the existing maps. *(And as soon as I finished, I had to update it because one of the new trailers showed a map of the city center.)* You can find the map in high resolution on my [DeviantArt page](https://www.deviantart.com/86botond/art/Stranger-Things-Hawkins-map-126... Radio Shack 197970d agoHow many of us remember needing some sort of electronic item or gizmo to repair something around the house in the 1970s or 1980s? The first place we all called or went to was Radio Shack back in the day. You name it; they had it. In the 1980s their inventory expanded into computer technology. RadioShack began in 1921 as a Boston ham radio shop and mail-order operation, which after Wold War II had expanded to a dozen locations in New England. The business was acquired in 1963 by one-time Texas leather supplier Tandy, which later assumed the retailer’s name. In the 1970s, Radio Shack stores proliferated across the USA. Finally, In 1999 at its peak it had over 8000 store locations, but by ... The left audio on my VITURE PRO XR glasses stopped working72d agoThe left audio on my VITURE PRO XR glasses stopped working. I bought my glasses 2 months ago and have been very happy with the purchase, but yesterday the left audio stopped working. I have already updated to the latest firmware version and tested them with multiple devices. The volume on both the glasses and the connected devices is at 100%. When I slightly move the left arm of the glasses away from my ear, the audio comes back, but if I let go of the arm, the sound cuts out again. Please, I need your help. The glasses haven't been dropped, and I have always transported them in their original case. I work at the company COOLBOX (formerly Radioshack) in Peru, and when my co...
