Not at JEE level right now. What should my next move be?

1h ago

Scored 35 in JEE (24 Jan Shift 2) (Phy:1 Chem:15 Maths:19, ~35% accuracy), so clearly my prep isn’t competitive yet. However, I’ve been scoring around 86% in pre-board exams and feel I can push that to 90%+, which makes me question how to prioritise the next phase. Should I temporarily shift majority focus to boards and rebuild JEE prep afterward, or try to balance both strategically? For those who’ve made a significant jump after a low score phase, what specifically helped in terms of time allocation and improving accuracy?

Upper respiratory problems?

1h ago

My (31F) almost 6mo domestic cat has been making some weird noises while breathing. When I first took her home it was sometimes wheezing-snorting sound and now it's settled to just heavy breathing (not like gasping for air, sounds closer to loud breathing sounds some humans make when they sleep). FREQUENCY • most days • usally once per day • moslty lasts 5-10secs sometimes more • specific times/activities related = only after she wakes up from deep nap so mostly mornings, after/while eating wet food, after/while grooming She used to have it a lot more often (every time situation described) a way noysier. Now I started giving her what the vet recommended and the noise is more l...

How I Made ChatGPT Feel 10× Faster on Mobile (Without Better Prompts)

1h ago

I recently noticed something odd while using ChatGPT on my phone. Late at night, low brightness, half-scrolling — I needed to rephrase a short email. Instead of reaching for a saved “perfect prompt,” I typed a short trigger, pasted the text, and sent it. The whole interaction took a few seconds. A year ago, that same task would’ve taken much longer. Back then, I relied heavily on long, structured prompts: role definitions, tone constraints, chain-of-thought style instructions. Like many people, I collected them in a notes app and reused them whenever I needed “better” output. In theory, those prompts improved quality. In practice, they added friction: searching, copying, adapting...

Created a free system design / domain interview handbook [by FAANG engineers]

1h ago

Hey all, We (a group of senior / staff FAANG and ex-FAANG engineers / PMs) created [interviewhandbook.io](http://interviewhandbook.io) \- a multi-disciplinary system design + domain fundamentals handbook for those specific types of interviews. It also includes a high level overview of how to design an efficient system with tradeoffs for the most common system design questions. The domains we cover are ML, backend, frontend + mobile (in beta, we need more contributors), DE, DS, and product management. It's **completely free** and we aggregated a lot of the knowledge and experience that we gained during our tenure, as well as personal interview experiences into the handbook. For ...

Day 55: no-prompts

# Context I'm building an ERD Editor that auto-generates tables, columns, and APIs from visual designs. Currently improving how default values work. # The Problem When a user sets a column type, the default value should automatically match that type. For example, if the type is an enum, the editor could show selectable options as defaults. But this opens up a deeper question. # Enum vs Code Table Two approaches I'm considering: **Option A: Code table** * Create a `code` table that stores all code values * Flexible, easy to modify * But adds a layer of abstraction **Option B: Real DB Enum types** * PostgreSQL native enums * Precise and type-safe * But modifying values la...

Hey r/sales: Discovering a Game-Changer for B2B Intent Signals in the EU Market

1h ago

Hey r/sales, As someone who's spent the last eight years hustling in B2B sales across Europe, I've tested my fair share of intent data platforms. From the big names like Bombora and 6sense to more niche ones like Leadfeeder, they all promise the world but often fall short when it comes to real-world application—especially if your turf is outside the US. The signal noise, compliance woes under GDPR, and spotty coverage in places like France have been constant frustrations. That's why I was skeptical when a colleague mentioned Artikle.io a few months back. But after integrating it into our workflow at TechNova Solutions—where I serve as Elena Rios, our Director of Revenue ...

Can I transfer my FHSA from one institution to another AFTER having purchased my first home?

1h ago

I opened an FHSA back when it first launched with Questrade, since they were the only low cost brokerage offering it at launch. Most of my portfolio is with another institution so I’m looking to transfer the account over. Doing so requires me to open a “new account”, even though it’d be an in-kind transfer of cash and securities. I’ve since purchased my first home (which I luckily did not need to use an FHSA withdrawal for), so I’m not sure if there would be any CRA implications with doing this since technically I’d be opening a new account? TYIA!

DS916+ at its limit: switching to a Mini-PC (N100) + NAS combo?

1h ago

*Note: I am a native French speaker, and this post has been translated. Please excuse any phrasing errors!* Hi everyone, I currently own a **Synology DS916+** (8GB RAM, Pentium N3710) with a **14TB SHR volume** (2x8TB + 2x4TB). I mainly use it for storage, Time Machine, Surveillance Station, and NAS-to-NAS backups. On the "compute" side, it runs a Home Assistant VM and about ten Docker containers (Jellyfin, \*arr suite, etc.). **The Problem: Critical Saturation** Lately, the NAS has been completely maxed out. I’m experiencing heavy slowdowns, the DSM interface becomes inaccessible for several minutes, and I get *ffprobe* crashes during Jellyfin scans... basically, the h...

6 weeks!

1h ago

6 weeks here \[apart from a few beers at my uncle's funeral which I planned form the beginning\] and the benefits seem to keep coming after the first month: * Cravings when I'm at home have completely gone - the triggers may come back for different siuations, we'll see. * I feel generally in a good mood now, without a reason for being so. * I'm less reactive, less quick to get annoyed, especially when out driving. * My sleep has really evened out - I get a solid 8 hours without any weird dreams. * My skin looks like it's improving all the time. * I can do more in the gym, lift heavier for longer. * I tried a beer at the end of dry Jan and it tasted horrible so I bi...

Any Feedback on my idea??

1h ago

Hey everyone, I’ve been a long-time lurker here and wanted to get some honest feedback. I built a desktop productivity app (Electron-based) originally just to solve my own problem. I was tired of using 5–10 different websites/tools, most of them subscription-based, ad-heavy, or with annoying upload limits. So I ended up building an all-in-one desktop app that includes: \- Canvas / visual workspace Freeform canvas for ideas, planning, and organizing projects (also u can put videos and audio files in the canvas this was helping me alot because i didnt find this feature on any website) \- Simple video editor \- Image & file utilities \- YouTube library secti...

Help me overthink, or stop overthinking, wood choice for a workbench

1h ago

(crossposted from r/woodworking) I've heard lots of people say that big-box dimensional lumber is a great inexpensive source of My First Workbench material. I've also heard people say it's a disaster because it's very likely to twist, perhaps severely, when I take it home. I can't get SYP locally. I'd like to avoid using expensive hardwood if possible. What's my best move? I'm going to be building my first workbench soon. I have some solid woodworking experience in a makerspace , but I want to finally have a space at home for handtool work. I'd like to minimize cost as much as possible - I could afford to build the entire thing out of hardwood i...

The update made getting decks like this so much easier

1h ago

The new changes made to save data and chaos system have improved the experience of building a low to zero card deck so much. Not only is the data for removal capped at 80 points, which makes rerolling tier not necessary, I can also run normal mode and not nightmare which lowers the chances of epiphanies. Plus even at tier 11 that allows for up to 2 divines, or even a neutral card. The epiphany reroll can save the whole run if the card I wanted to keep upgrades into a wrong version. I built the deck on the picture in one single run. The only rerolling I did was escaping until I got the remove 2 cards and then I just went with it and got this. I even lucked out with the bound card upgradin...

I'm stuck in loneliness

1h ago

I'm 23 now, and I had a terrible childhood filled with rejection and ostracism from my family. I suffered a lot. I thought that as I grew up, my life would improve, but nothing improved. On the contrary, my life got worse. I became extremely lonely, and although I wanted relationships, I avoided people! Now I'm in my seventh semester, and people are trying to interact with me. Sometimes I act foolishly towards them because I've lost my communication skills. I look forward to going home so I can relax, but at the same time, I don't want to act this way. However, I feel comfortable this way! :( I don't know what I want. I even considered dropping out of this semester, ...

[Discussion] (2/6) Underground Music Club #42: Terence Etc., Ahya Simone, Lava Gulls, Dead Billionaires, and Tomin

1h ago

Hi everyone, welcome to week 42 of the underground music club. For those who missed the [last post](https://www.reddit.com/r/indieheads/comments/1qr9erd/discussion_130_underground_music_club_41_aan_ness/), every Friday, I spotlight 5 artists with approximately fewer than 10,000 Spotify listeners (or minimal Reddit love if they do not stream on Spotify) who deserve your ears. Think genre-bending, soulful, strange, or just beautifully overlooked. Thanks to everyone who has sent me their suggestions. If I didn't include what you sent it doesn't mean I won't in a future week. I really listen to everything you all send and I always love to hear what you are all listening to. Got ...

I'm fighting about same topic for 3 months with my parents over and over.

1h ago

I am a 21-year-old man. When I was 18, I dropped out of college because I couldn’t adjust due to depression. I decided I wanted to change myself, so I enlisted in the military earlier than required(mandatory). Right after 50% of my service time, I suffered from severe depression, difficulty adjusting, and bullying. My parents paid for multiple psychiatric hospitalizations, and managed to complete my service without being dishonorably discharged or medically discharged. (Later, the costs were fully reimbursed through national healthcare support.) Since then, my parents, who were already protective, have become overly protective. After being discharged, I still live at home and receive som...

ADU Addition vs. Remodel: Which One Adds More Value?

1h ago

As California communities continue to embrace flexible housing solutions, homeowners are increasingly weighing two popular investment choices: building a new Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) or remodeling an existing space to function like one. Both approaches can significantly boost property value, offer new living possibilities, and generate rental income. But the big question remains: **Which option delivers more long-term value—an ADU addition or a remodel?** Fortune Design and Permits, a trusted ADU specialist in San Diego, has guided countless homeowners through this decision-making process. While each property and homeowner’s goals vary, understanding the benefits, costs, and long-t...

The Death of the Marketing Funnel: Why Customer Journeys Are Actually Messy Loops

1h ago

Last Tuesday, I watched a CMO present their Q4 results with a beautiful funnel chart. Awareness: 2.3M impressions. Consideration: 47,000 site visits. Decision: 890 conversions. A clean 0.04% conversion rate, visualized as a tidy downward triangle. Then I pulled the actual customer journey data. Customer #127 saw our ad in March. Googled us in May. Clicked a competitor's ad in June. Read our case study in July after finding it on LinkedIn. Abandoned their cart. Came back via a Reddit thread in August. Bought after a retargeting email in September. Six months. Seven touchpoints. Four different channels. Zero respect for our funnel. Customer #394's path? Even messier. Customer #72...

5 Months Update with Dr. Becker

It’s been **5 months since my surgery with Dr. Becker** and almost **one full month since I finished clicking**. Two days ago, something happened that might sound small to others, but for me, it was huge: I went out with friends for dinner **without crutches** for the first time. That moment alone made me realize how far I’ve come. Since stopping the clicking phase, the progress hasn’t been linear, it’s been **exponential**. Every single week...
