There’s a new Hobby Lobby near my job so I went there the other day when I had a little bit of time after a meeting and before my shift. And don’t get me wrong, I felt slimy doing it, but their selection and customer service was so on point! Today I tried going to the Michael’s in downtown Brooklyn and just, WOOF… Terrible selection of fabric and sewing supplies and more than half the shelves were sold out/empty. Where do y’all go in NYC for sewing/quilting supplies? Most of the fabric stores that I found on Google maps tend to be more for apparel fabrics.

I can’t find ANYTHING in a yard, hobby lobby has small rectangles, Walmart only occasionally has like a wolf colored version, craft warehouse is gone, Joan’s is gone, I just need a yard or two of white for a decent price 🥲

I'm looking for a good sealant spray for faceups and body painting. I was looking at a few and from what I understand a lot of clear sealants leave a glossy texture (Which I dont really want if I can help it.) I want to find something local (walmart/hobby lobby etc). I found this Aleenes clear acrylic spray sealer from Walmart and was wondering if anyone knew if it was a good sealant specifically for faceups? I added a picture just in case and also looked through the wiki but didnt see anything on this specific spray. (unless I didnt look correctly)

Are there any places in town that sell Prismacolor pencils? I don’t want to go to Hobby Lobby if I can avoid it, and I’d prefer to support a local store.

Hello all, I am wanting to get into sewing apparel like shirts and pants and such. I’ve looked around Columbus and found a couple fabric stores but they are mostly quilting centric stores. I’ve been to hobby lobby and gotten some cheap fabric to practice with but I’m looking for some nicer cottons and fleeces but I’m just having a hard time finding them. Hi everyone! I'm fairly new to crafting and want to make forever succulents, I'm following Boho Beach Bum's YouTube tutorial. The creator didn't link where they got the beads and I can't find them anywhere. They're water drop faceted green beads, they have to be top drilled and around 10x15mm. I recently ordered a 5ml decant of Bois Imperial by Essential Parfums. After doing some research and watching some reviews, I was skeptical / excited for a few reasons: 1. This could be a "different" type of work scent; something unlike your traditional blue body wash type scent (which I will still rock on occasion). 2. FYI- if you live where there are Hobby Lobby stores they sell MSC Matte in the model section where the model paint and airbrush supplies are. Some stores lock it up with the airbrushes but my store has it out on the airbrush supplies rack. When I bought some yesterday it was $10.99 USD which is much cheaper than Amazon where is it typically $20 or more. (Also, please don’t come at me about HL and their corporate practices. I already know.) If you’re lucky enough to have a HobbyTown, they carry it for the same price. But those aren’t nearly as common as Hobby Lobby.

this might be a weird or obvious question but where do you buy buttons??? Micheal's has such a small selection, i'd rather not shop at Hobby Lobby, Babetta yarn store has a decent selection but kind of limited hours and i feel like online the color matching is so hard so im just curious if anyone has a good spot or recommendations??

I’ve recently had two machines come in that have had the felt/pile missing from the auto thread cutter on Brother & Baby Lock machines. And I’ve also had some damaged felt/pile on a bobbin case. It seems wasteful to have to buy those specific parts when we could just replace that felt. However, I’m having trouble finding some. I’ve tried hardware stores, Hobby lobby, and Michael’s. I’ve even looked online and nothing really looks suitable. Does anybody know where we can get this stuff and cut it to length or size that I need?
