Last Friday, I had to let my soul dog cross the rainbow bridge. Deep down, I know it was the right time. He wasn’t himself anymore. But he still loved me. He still loved food. He still loved being with me. In the last six months he lost his hearing and relied completely on watching my hands and my movements. He adapted the best he could. I don’t really know where else to share his story or how to grieve, so here I am. He was the only surviving puppy of his litter. His mom, Tessa, belonged to my in-laws, and I had been part of her life since the day she came home. She lived to be 15, and we finally let her go when her hips gave out. One night before she pa... Best period of the game2h agoHey everyone, I've already 100% completed RDR, but I have saves in Chapter 2, the Horseshoe Overlook area (up to the fishing mission with Jack), Chapter 3, in the Peninsula area up to the part where you unlock the fishing missions at the camp after the fishing mission with Dutch and Hosea, and Chapter 4, in Shady Belle, during the swamp mission with Dutch! In your opinion, which is the best chapter to play in free mode, which one has the most opportunities to enjoy? Hunting, side quests, random encounters, etc.? I always play in exploration mode but I alternate between these 3 I mentioned! What am I missing in my road trip itinerary for South Africa (Garden Route) and Namibia this July?2h agoI'm going this July, but right now the only thing I've booked is international flights in/out of Johannesburg. Wanted to get some opinions on my tentative itinerary before I book any flights within the region or accommodations. I'm a 25M fairly experienced driver, and I have driven on the left before on a scooter in Indonesia, but this will be my first international trip built mainly around driving (plenty of domestic road trips here in Canada though). Never been to this region or Africa in general, but my primary interests are wildlife, nature, and history. **The main advice I'm looking for is:** * Does this look too packed? * Am I missing any other good location... Horchata Cookies2h agoI’ve scoured the internet and can’t find a horchata cookie that matches what I’m trying to make. I would appreciate any feedback to help me (a fairly new baker) to be successful. \- I am aiming for a soft, gooey, melt in your mouth cookie \- I might just use my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe for a base, making changes where needed (butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, eggs, flour, baking soda, salt) \- to get the right flavor I thought about using actual horchata cooked down into a sweetened condensed milk consistency \- I’m on the hunt for cinnamon chip (but real ones, not fake ones like Hersheys). The best I can find is Nuts.com? Where else could I even look? G... Mobile games feel copy-paste and ad-infested now, but Mistplay at least makes trying new ones less of a waste2h agoDoes anyone else miss the days of Temple Run, Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, and Jetpack Joyride? Lately it seems like every new release is a slightly different reskin of an endless runner or a match-3 that forces 30 second ads between levels. It gets tiring to sift through that to find anything interesting. I started using Mistplay a few months ago just to make the grind of testing new games feel less pointless. You play, earn Units, and can cash out for gift cards or sometimes PayPal. It does not magically make the App Store better, but knowing I am earning something while I try a handful of titles made me more willing to explore. I actually found a couple small strategy and puzzle games I wou... Does anyone else despise self checkouts?2h agoSo I made the mistake of going to the grocery store without a list. So I wandered around and ended up with a full cart of who even knows but it somehow was $200. I always try and check out with a human, I have no problem waiting longer to do so. So only self-checkout was open. I went to the one with the full belt and bagging area. Rage inducing, it yells and stops when the bagging area sensor is full. So I go and bag to clear that up. Then it yells at the register end because I’m scanning too slow. **** you clanker! Then it doesn’t register any of the BOGO deals so the underpaid lady has to come fix it anyway. Plus you have people huffing behind me because it’s taking a long time, do y... I haven't been able to find my betta's poop for over three weeks.2h agoI'm new to betta fish, and I've prepared everything for my first betta. But this fish wasn't part of my plan cause my mom brought it from the store and she insisted on taking him home because she saw him was just in a bottle. My tank isn't finished cycling yet, it will take at least half a month to complete the cycle. For now, I've placed him in this big plastic container, the water temperature is at 77, i added dried Indian almond leaves water to get the tannins, helped him feel more comfortable and possibly had a mild antiseptic after bringing him home from the store. Since there's no filter, I add Salvinia molesta to help filter out harmful substances in ... I'm spending more time creating/fixing 3D assets than actually making my game and it's killing me2h agoSeriously, this is driving me insane. I sat down yesterday planning to work on my combat system. Six hours later I'm still in Blender fixing a ****** bench model because the one I bought had messed up UVs and the free ones look like they're from 2003. I'm a programmer. I can code AI, build systems, optimize performance. But somehow I'm spending 60% of my dev time either modelling basic props, fixing assets I bought, or hunting through asset stores hoping something won't look terrible in my scene. I'll admin I'm not even good at 3D modelling. I'm just... doing it because I have to. Started this project a few months ago. My actual gameplay features are... Recipe ideas!2h agoHi everyone! New to this group and new to tinned fish deliciousness. Hit me with your favorite recipes and ideas (particularly toast ones or others where the fish remains whole) and your favorite grocery store brands. I recently had Patagonia smoked mussels and they were great and today I had wild planet sardines with lemon, also delicious! 39m - Looking for new friends!2h agoHey! I’m 39m in the Midwest. I have two kids. Two dogs and a cat. I work in the IT field as a software engineer. I’m always into all things tech related. I love to play video games in my free time, listen to music, hang out with my kids. I’m an outdoors person. I love to fish, hunt, camp and go hiking when it’s not cold! I’m looking do new friends outside of my normal circle of friends. Life hits all of us in many ways! Kids, our jobs, and life in general! We all need some decompression! Wanting to connect with new people and form some connections that last longer than a few days to a week! Hey, this isn't really meant to be read as it isn't for a story or anything. It's just a fun hobby I have...3h agoThe Blood of the Ilythain Darkness existed all across reality. An endless sea of black. Then a shard of reality glittered into reality, shimmering within the void. Shapeless entities of shadow (whom both were and were not before the shard appeared) watched it with great curiosity. It gave shape and meaning to their forms, like steam condensing into water. Gravaxus, the God of the glass and the most powerful of these entities forged the shard into a shattered and colourful world. The shard grew plants and life over time. The rest of the many Gods chose this as their home and lived in tranquility for eons. Malakis was the weakest of the Gods, grew envious of his kind. He wanted to be se... Hyper-fixating on Learning Soccer/Football as a 32yo Man - what am I even doing?3h agoThis is a weird one for me. I’ve never been a sports guy. Never really worked out. Never been particularly active. I’m usually the type to fixate on learning random information or diving deep into niche hobbies. Last year it was fly fishing and I actually got pretty good at it. I still go regularly. The origin story of this new obsession is kind of funny. I’ve always loved Ted Lasso. Then last week I was listening to an artist from Liverpool, got curious about the city, started Googling, and somehow ended up watching a highlight reel of Liverpool FC goals from this past year. That night I watched their latest match… and I’ve been going further down the rabbit hole ever since. O... Gonna try to shorten this as much as possible since the template is long AF, lol. Sorry. * *Will this be your first dog? If not, what experience do you have owning/training dogs?* Nope! I fully trained my dog at 12\~ I have good experience with dogs and training. * *Do you have a preference for rescuing a dog vs. going through a breeder?* Preferably breeder but I wouldn't mind rescuing a puppy or young dog - under a year old. * *Describe your ideal dog.* Someone to be my companion all the time. High drive, high energy, eager to please, velcro, affectionate, highly intelligent and trainable. Someone to hike, bike, run, walk, swim, and ski with. Basically a dog who is just as ... Hello. I'm a Hot Wheel collector3h agoMaybe addict would be more accurate. I'm sorry to bring this up when you're off but you got any Hot Wheels in the back? haha Every time I check stores around me they have about 3 and a half Hot Wheels on the shelf. Is there a certain time of day or week when stores stock that shelf. I don't like to bother employees about toys when I'm hunting. I usually don't even check Walgreens too often but there is a Walgreens exclusive I need. Anyone help me out.
