Moved in last August and since then it’s been a whirlwind of painting and hunting down furniture/decoration deals at various secondhand stores / Facebook marketplace. We are finally at a place we are happy with. Still a little bit of work to be done but this is the layout it’s staying in for a while due to budget constraints. The big bar has a functional back but is too large to move out from the wall regularly so all of my mixers/liqueurs/bar tools are crammed in the closed doors under the shelves. But that’ll do for now!!

I bought this Kismai-recommended water hardness kit. It took two drops of both the GH and KH solution to reach the color changes described in the instructions. According to the Conversion Chart (2nd photo), my ppm GH/KH is 35.8. But I know nothing about water hardness, so this number means nothing to me. Can someone please help me understand this number and how it relates to my laundry routine? Thanks! Edited to add: I have an older top loader with agitator. I would love to know how to make adjustments based on my washer and water hardness numbers.

So I work at an animal store and I’ve locked in adopting a cat. He’s 1 year old and has scratched and bit 4 people. I’ve had two cats before, but I took them in when they were already around 6 months old and more adjusted. I’m taking him home this Saturday. I just moved in and wanted time to set up the apartment first so he wouldn’t have to deal with move-in stress. Today I was petting under his chin (as ive done a few times before without problem) when he suddenly “hunted” my hand. I've been a big fan of Hygger since 2023, lights, heaters etc. But this past year i've had one after another fail and shock me. First the 1000w (bought april 2024) failed and shocked me lightly. Then two 800w's (jun 2025) failed at the same time shocked the **** out of me. And now my 4 month old 500W failed and shocked me. Luckily no fish where harmed, but these keep failing left and right. Would advise any one looking for a heater to avoid Hygger as their quality seems to be slipping on heaters. EDIT: Decided to share this after the 4th failed as its not even 4 months old. The past few months of hunting has been unrewarding and, franky, just not fun. Locals are very unemployed or just have nothing to do but hit up every Target, Walmart, and grocery store in the area as the doors open in the morning to snag anything of interest. I was ready to give up. But I guess there was a midday re-stock, because I was early for a Dr appointment and stopped by the Target across the street. I've been looking forward to these 4 for months. It felt like old times, just stumbling onto cars I actually like! I don't care for the chase cars. It seems superficial and, honestly, juvenile to me. Get it because you like it.
