I’ll start by saying that I’m not a really great gardener. I have a physical disability that keeps me from doing as much as I want with my front garden. However, for the past 4 years, I’ve had a small water feature/mini pond in my front yard. I keep it small to stay within bylaw rules. Mine is one of 2 or possibly 3 in the larger neighbourhood area. It started as a little barrel pond, and 3 years ago, I put in a little 75 gallon mini pond, surrounded by a rock garden. It’s powered by a solar fountain that runs a small filter pump. My daughter won a goldfish at a carnival over 3 weeks ago. I'm honestly really proud that we've kept it alive this long. For a free fish, I've spent so much time (and more money than I was expecting) so she has her best chance. There are a few challenges we've been battling. 1. I just checked on her this morning and found her resting on the bottom. I genuinely thought she was dead but I got her to move. Is there a way to tell if she was just resting or if she's sick? 2. Ammonia levels have never been zero. When I first tested the water, it was at 0.5. I did frequent water changes and treated with ammolock for 8 days. Found these guys at the local fish store being sold under the name of "chilli red giant gouramis". I havent seen anything like them before. Google says its a kissing gourami but Im pretty sure it isnt. They have a nice red tint to their bodies and fins and dont look artificially coloured to me. 4th picture is 3 weeks after growing in my pond

I’m building a paludarium with a waterfall and the pump I have is too strong even on the lowest setting. Suggestions on how to reduce the flow? I’m open to getting a different pump but it needs to be powerful enough to lift almost 2’. The pump I currently have is the second picture.
