I’m 28 this year, working a white collar job that pays around $6k a month. It’s not a terrible job, but weekdays are pretty intense and overtime happens more often than I’d like. I've been watching a lot of mukbang videos of [ota ika](https://youtu.be/je2lDVRInss?si=DFQ3FWtAk8XgPT0t) and [kinilaw](https://youtube.com/shorts/QOf4U1igg3E?si=lY3WHcYt1DE4LjDL) and I want to try it. I have a couple whole whitefish that I caught myself in the freezer... Can I just do this with those? Are there certain guidelines for fish that I can or can't do this with? Would grocery store fish not be fresh enough? I can get fish straight off a boat on the weekends if I want, but no way to know how long those fish sat on the boat.

Ok, so I have a 5 gallon that originally only had a honey gourami and 3 Amano shrimp. The past year I've been fighting a hair algae outbreak that just won't quit. The Amano don't touch it. I've tried blacking out the tank for weeks. When I did frequent water changes my shrimp ended up force molting so I had to spread them out. Recently my local fish store has started carrying American flag fish. Fish store said they would take it back if it bullied the shrimp but so far I saw it get bullied by the gourami for a few days but that seems to have settled out.
