For a while now, I've been on the hunt for a basic sardinilla in olive oil at an affordable, daily-driver price. Unfortunately, I began the hunt after being wow'd by tiny sardines from Yurrita, Fausto and Ramón Peña, all of which are top tier (and therefore at a non-daily-driver price). It's hard to eat others after them. These "pitchounettes" from Ferrigno La Bonne Mer in EVOO were my next try. I do like the firmness of these tiny fish (many small sardines are softer than I prefer), but they are also a bit dry, despite the good EVOO.
