My apartment has felt empty since I started working from home, and I've been considering getting a fishing aquarium to add some life to my space. I was laid off last year, which is how I came to work here. Its in riverside near the factory. I went there, and it came with 2 houses, 7 pigs, chickens, and 2 pens of cows in the closest pens, so I dont have to go get any animals (maybe sheep, I havent checked the pens more north) It also has plenty of tools, and seeds already there. Its near riverside and also near the factory, gas station, and storage units. I was easily able to get a ton of food from the gas station and the store on the edge of town, crates, building and crafting supplies, weapons, and books and magazines from the factory warehouse along with some good vans with large trunk storage I can access from the drivers seat, and even 2 generator magazines from the vans at the factory....

I have a 75g and did a 50% water change about 2 weeks ago because I noticed a bunch of my fish were dying. I bought the good water parameter testing kit and all my levels were good except for ammonia which was around 4ppm. Loads of my fish have died so im going to do another 50% water change and go to the store to buy some of that product that lowers ammonia. (Cant think of the name) I only have a small amount of schooling fish. Maybe like 20ish nano fish in total and 4 Red Rosy Barbs. My filter is a HOB Fluval AC 110. What is causing this ammonia to be so high?!

Would this work? It’s tempting bc it’s only $16. If not, what would be a cheap rod combo and rig to catch bluegill? I’m thinking under $30-35. I want to start catching live bait and my 6’ rod doesn’t work very well for that.

Very dark humor. I love to fish and be outside. I hunt when I can in the midwest. Recently sober. I got 3 guppies from Petsmart. I had the tank for 1.5 weeks prior, lots of live plants like hornworts, java ferns and a few others from an experienced aquarium store. I have a 5 gallon tank, gravel, 2 decorations that provide hiding spots and shade, open swimming area, in total 11 live plants spaced appropriately so it’s not overcrowded, I use tap water with appropriate amount of water conditioner, also used live bacteria first 5 days of tank cycle.
