Hello! Im trying to keep this post brief as Im very very panicked over this guy, Ive had him for 2 years and bought him from an awful local fish store. All chemicals in his tank are good, nitrites a little bit above what id like but still ok. No change in temp or food. He lives in a 29 gallon with guppies, neon tetras, and corycats: all of which are in perfect health. He gets along with all of them, but the tank is full of fake silk plants to reduce stress. This guy was at my local fish store and looked horrible, i couldn’t just leave him. Currently he is in a glass bowl with water from my cycled tank (i don’t want to introduce what he has to my clown killis). He has a heat lamp, some of those magic leaves the internet told me about (i don’t remeber what they are called), some floating plants from my tank to try to help him feel more secure, and the water has been dosed with Seachem Kanaflex. I got some hissers from my local pet store today and, without thinking, put em in my 20 gallon long bioactive tank. It's obviously not too late to separate them but I'm wondering if I should? I know hissers do much better in colonies and I got 5 of them from the pet store, there are currently 7 doobies in the 20g, none mature adults, all around an inch long, and the hissers are the same size. The tank is what I call my bioactive storage, it has all my leftover springtails (mix of tropical and temporate) and a colony of powder blue isopods along with some (unintended) darkling beetles and mealworms in addition to the roaches.
