I was going to go camping in Canada this weekend and I am really excited. I wanted to escape the world so I left my phone in the truck. My family member bought a house recently and it was full of stuff. The owners were hoarders. The previous owners passed away, and their family members took what belongings they wanted and sold the house filled with garbage and other junk. While helping my family throw everything out, I stumbled across a box that was in a pile of stuff being thrown into a dumpster. I don't even mind abysmally bad writing making characters do ****** things, like hijacking the coal cart inside the mining camp instead of ambushing it in the woods on its way to the tower, or sitting on their asses instead of foraging, hunting, trapping or fishing. On any random mission they undertake they get distracted by irrelevant bullshit, lose their focus and end up captured. It's so awful it's awesome. i work at a certain popular retail pet store and while im trying not to tear my hair out while helping our fish customers, i also try to do the best for the animals we have (i can only do so much unfortunately). BUT i saw this betta we had missing half his fins so i rescued him (took him for free ofc) and put him in my empty 5 gallon. hes doing so well. hes such a curious lil guy. its live planted. i feed him a variety diet. today i tong fed him frozen mysis shrimp and he went nuts for it! i check my water parameters (lowkey multiple times a day LMAO) just to make sure his water is crystal clean while healing (i have ocd and need to make sure) 😭. i have 2 dollars in my bank acc no joke bc...

So I got one of these Pflueger Monarch combos from Scheel’s for like $80. I got a medium heavy 7.5’ pole with 10lb braid and it’s hard to enjoy. I mostly fish bank fish small urban (featureless) ponds. To cast with it at all I’m fairly large plastics on 1/4 or 3/8 weights, or decently hefty spinners, rooster tails, and occasionally bait fish. I’m not going to bother with talking about bird nests as that is just a skill issue I’m working on. I’ve never gotten a bite. I think it’s just overkill for the bodies of water I fish. I can’t stand big box stores and never buy live fish from them, but my local Petco’s plant assortment is the best in town. These showed up this week in a small tissue culture cup for $10, ended up with 3 very healthy plants out of it in total. Check your local stores! They have rare stuff lately!
