I have 6 baby Amazon/South American Puffers in a 75 gallon. Haven't had them very long but they are finally settled in. Some of them have very dark bands, they almost look entirely black from a distance. Some of them are nearly entirely gold, the band is very faint. Is this a matter of individuals or an indicator of stress levels? When I first got them, the dark ones glass surfed substantially more than the calmer gold ones. Now that they are all settled, the dark ones eat the fozen blood worms (along with snail hunting during the day) that I feed the other fish in the tank, and the gold ones pretty much just stick to looking for snails. Help! I’m on day 7 of what I thought was ich - Established tank of 7 months with a mix of ember tetras, harlequin rasboras, guppies and 3 dwarf frogs. Added in one gourami from my local fish store where I’ve gotten everything before. He died within 3 days. 2 days later I see one fish covered in white spots and dead. I started treatment for ich - daily Rid-ich plus medication + 30% water changes gravel vacuum. I have continued to lose fish- 7 gone + original gourami. I thought the rasboras were doing great but I can see dark spots on their tails now and one of them died today! When they die the tails are totally gone like eaten away :( What am I doing wrong?? New to the hobby. 80 litre Hailea tank, fish added after about 2 months of cycling with no water changes. Substrate: organic potting soil topped with fluorite sand.
