Has anyone ever tried using lead buckshot for slingshot ammo? The only lead I’ve tried are these spherical fishing weights, I’ve tried 5 and 10 gram lead fishing weights but they are too heavy and need special band setups. So I was thinking some nickel or copper plated #1 lead buckshot would be great slingshot hunting ammo as it’s small .30 caliber (7.62mm) diameter, so it’s smaller than the more common 9-10 mm steel bearing balls, but it would be around 2.5-3.5 grams each BB. So it’s very small yet very dense, and its nickel or copper plating would protect from lead poisoning.
