Second time trying Nuri Sardines in Olive Oil — and this time I got three cans in a row that gave me the same experience: They were dry, sour, and had an unpleasant spicy/burny taste that irritated my tongue and left it feeling dry for over an hour after I finished the can. I found the skin broken, meat already fallen apart as soon as I opened the cans. The oil also seemed noticeably thinner than Spiced Sardines in Olive Oil’s. I even found a tail in one can. The cans with smaller fish (more than three per can) were especially bad but I didn’t take pictures. Not sure if it was a bad batch, but I bought from different sellers.

A few weeks ago my partner and I moved house, and to prepare for our (larger) home we took a trip to Bunnings to buy anything and everything we would need. We were there for almost 2 hours, deciding between tools, debating over plants, hunting down tidbits. We spent a bunch of money. Well, apparently that was about 20 minutes longer than you’re allowed to spend at Bunnings, because I just got an $85 parking fine for overstaying what is apparently a P90 zone… inside the Bunnings building. I'm getting a little frustrated here as when I post in the regular /r's, I get mostly "oh she's just fat", but when I'm talking (in person) to people who are familiar with / raising betta, then I get "aww, look at her egg belly". I finally managed to snag her from Prex Hobby online hobby store I stumbled upon recently, and she just arrived today! I finally pulled the trigger on this Sakura Miku (Taito AMP), but this release was my breaking point. I had her in my cart on one of the big Japanese sites, and the DHL shipping quote was literally more expensive than the figure itself. I ended up hunting around and found her at Prex Hobby instead. It’s an online hobby store I hadn't used before, but the total price (with shipping) came out significantly cheaper than importing. It feels like the golden age of cheap importing is over.
