Hey guys I’m an avid bass fisherman looking to put together my first BFS setup. I want to keep on the budget side of things to see how well I like it. I think I’m gonna go with the kastking kestrel reel. Really having trouble with picking a rod. Have somewhat narrowed down to these 3. Kastking kestrel 6’3 UL Purelure zero 6’3 L Handing magic 6’ L Mostly targeting bass and trout with 1/16-1/8 oz lures. Can anyone that’s fished any of these give me some opinions..thanks!

Hey folks! I’m an angler from Colorado who has a best friend that just moved to Grand Rapids area. He said he’d let me store a rod or two at his place for when I come to visit. He’s not an angler himself so most likely we’ll be shore side. I fly fish, bait fish, all sorts of stuff out here so really I’m just looking for the best bang for my buck all around 2 rods. I’m thinking one spinning rod and one fly rod. For the fly rod I’m thinking 8wt but spinning rod should I go like medium? Medium heavy? I’ll be hitting whatever local stuff I can find like the grand river for salmon, and if I want to hit small creeks I’ve got a travel rod I could bring.

So I’m currently hunting down a monster of a pike that scared the **** out of me. It’s around 1m and very thick so I have no doubt it’s around 10kg. My problem is I have 2 rods and neither intended for pike(kinda). So I have a 10-30g and a 120-180g one and a small lil sienna c3000 reel. Now i don’t know what I should use. The 10-30g or the 120-180g with the sienna. The lures I use are <40g so it’s overkill for the 10-30g but very small for the 120-180g. I have no problem in casting under casting weight I’ve done it before but I don’t know which one is better for fighting the pike.
