Audible is Erasing Purchased Titles

1d ago

I share an account with my mom. She tends to like wholesome books that are not that stressful. I am using the app 99.99% of the time. We have a system where I will pre-read books and then recommend them to her if they seem up her alley (she is more of a kindle reader so she usually will get a kindle version). However, in the last year or two I have noticed books I have previously purchased disappear from my library and require additional credits to redownload. It is not just a fluke (one or two titles). I have 8 book series that I paid for disappearing from my library. I am genuinely frustrated about this because I cannot re-listen to my old series, and cannot access them in my libr...

Specific ereader preferences??

Hello, I am one of the many screwed over kindle users who is getting kicked off kindle next month and wanting to gtfo amazon. Some of the most important things I realized I like about my old *** kindle that I would really miss if I switched are the following: \- library books immediately loading to my kindle \- viewing my reading progress as a percent rather than a page number \- being able to see the estimated time it will take to finish a chapter \- would only like to use it for reading, so whatever the book store app would be and Libby use \-I don’t want it to be able to plug and play basically. I don’t want to have to download anything to it, just use it out of the box. I have...

Book stores/Libraries in Upper Antipolo?

1d ago

I want to buy books, or at least find a library in Upper Antipolo because I wanna start reading novels again. Can anyone help me out?

does anyone have any book recommendations that aren’t super clockable as anti-capitalist?

2d ago

I live in a super rural area so good leftist books are really hard to find, at most i can only usually find some hard core lib books in my local libraries and book stores. i also can’t buy online because of my home situation and it’s really hard for me to read books online. so i thought maybe i could get my local libraries to order me some books but like i said i live in a rural area where most people are super conservative and even if they are more progressive they’re usually liberals, anyways i was hoping i could find some leftist theory books that you wouldn’t really be able to tell are leftist just by the title and/or book cover

Imperial Bedrooms inscribed by Bret Easton Ellis

Not valuable as far as I know (definitely not a first), just exciting for me personally. I embarked on a journey 2 years ago of reading all of BEE's books in order and it's been rewarding and challenging. I've also had a strange synchronicity going on where whatever book I'm due to read next will turn up at a second hand book store right when I'm up to it, beginning with American Psycho being in a little free library the day I started it digitally, and recently Imperial Bedrooms being on the shelf in my favourite book store waiting for me a few weeks ago. I started reading last night and carried it around with me all day today, and only now after it being in my posse...

Sydney Kinokuniya - All the reading area seats are taken by books, customers forced to seat on the floor.

My favourite book store is not what it used to be. Wanted to view a superhero book with my son (which we ended up buying), the sitting benches by the window were all (deliberately it seems) flooded with books, when we moved a couple to make some space to share a spot with him sitting on my lap - we were told off. Not the vibe I remember this store for.

Library

6d ago

Quirk: Library Type: Emitter Description: The user is capable of storing books they own in a pocket dimension. All the user has to do is touch a book while thinking of storing it, and it’ll disappear. Following this the user will have a mental list of all books stored. They can also just as easily summon a book stored by imagining taking it off a shelf. However if the user stores too many books at once they’ll suffer a severe migraine preventing them from using the quirk. Once the migraine passes they’ll be able to use the quirk.

Series similar to Patricia Briggs (Alpha and Omega, Mercy Thompson) or Carrie Vaughn (Kitty Norville)?

7d ago

I've been on a bit of a werewolf novel binge lately, but I'm struggling to find books that have well developed plotlines similar to those by Patricia Briggs and Carrie Vaughn. Briggs is amazing at creating living worlds with fantastic characters. The magical elements are fun, and the pack structures and bonds are otherworldly in a way that doesn't come across as too much. I love that Mercy Thompson and Anna Latham both learn and grow throughout the series, and we aren't hit with long, grueling explanations flooded with magic jargon and centuries of lore explained so matter-of-fact that it's sickening. We learn with the characters, and you can feel that the normal wo...

BORED IN TALLY: WEEKLY EVENTS, 4/16/26 – 4/22/26

BORED IN TALLY: WEEKLY EVENTS, 4/16/26 – 4/22/26 **Someone recently suggested that this list is AI created. Let me assure you that I sit my very human *** down in a Shaq brand office chair for fat guys every week and compile it myself, mostly from FB events. And now you know.** Events are listed by the day. Events that happen every week appear first, one-time stuff after that. If you have anything you’d like people to know about, comment here or message me and I’ll add it in. If you’d like further info about any of the events, look it up! I usually don’t have any extra to add. **Events may be cancelled unexpectedly. If in doubt, contact the venue.** **Large Scale, Ongoing, an...

So, this year is gonna be real special for me for Titanics rememberence anniversary. I got laid off from my job suddenly last month so I've had extra time on my hands and I saw the Titanic Honor and Glory team posted a few weeks ago they needed extras for voice acting for this year's live sinking stream. I've been pondering trying out voice acting for years but never really did anything about it, but now since I had this extra time while job hunting and waiting for HR emails, I spent several hours practicing and recording dozens of lines they requested along with extras I thought they might be able to use. Needless to say, when they informed me that some of my voice lines wil...

Library book replacement

10d ago

I have a friend who lost their library book, they found a copy at a book store used but in basically perfect condition. would the library accept that copy along with the 5 dollars as listed in their policy added to the replacement cost? they were just curious and when they brought it up I became curious as well. if not they plan to simply pay the price for losing the book.

Welcoming a New Neighbor, Martha Style

10d ago

So about a year ago I saw this Martha Stewart Living Clip. https://reddit.com/link/1sk01cp/video/vkstgeqnnvug1/player I decided to try it myself when new neighbors moved into my building. https://reddit.com/link/1sk01cp/video/xg7hsm00ovug1/player I tried to keep it close to the original vision but here's what I would do differently 2nd time round: KEEP * Homemade cookies, duh. * gift certificate to coffee shop or coffee grounds * Book store punch card with program * Our neighborhood bookstore is large and does book talks, readings, and signings. I love that they offer a punch card like a coffee shop * Narcan, a little dark but I live in the city so I hope that it encourages ...
