Amazon fresh is closings all the major locations pretty much in Chicago land area. What do we do and how do we go from here? They claim they’re transitioning to more delivery options and Whole Foods but that’s gonna put an obscene amount of flexers piled up at Whole Foods now smh. This is gonna be bad for the time being until the online delivery they talked about starts.

I went yesterday afternoon. It was pandemonium there, with shelves chaotically emptied and people stiff arming items into carts. It took 45 minutes to check out because the digital carts were gone, and only manual cashiers were on hand. They also "closed " Thursday and Friday at 6pm, telling people arriving then that no one else was allowed. I found out, also, that staff were notified at the same time the public was. So, 3 days? Supreme **** move on Amazon's part there. Workers were given the option of transferring to a warehouse, but it hardly seems like a choice. So we all know how there’s things like Uber that has allowed us to seek taxis wherever we are. There’s DoorDash that now delivers food to us wherever we are from whatever restaurant we want. Amazon fresh delivers groceries right to your door rather than you having to leave your house, let alone delivering whatever product you need be it skincare, supplies, furniture or whatever it is. **So my question is, what you do you think the next “big” thing is and why? What do you foresee coming in the future that will have as big an impact as the above mentioned?**

Lines and crowding are minimal at White Oak Town Center. Four aisles of concentrated remainders. Notible quantities of OTC meds, spices, chocolate bars and snacks, condoms, formula, canned and boxed foods, Valentine's treats, and matzos. Pricing is non-evident on the shelves. It is worth the trip for pickers.

With closure of Amazon Fresh, it also looks like [Amazon.com](http://Amazon.com) has removed the option of selecting Amazon Fresh for returns. I’ve read over a year ago that some customers were able to use return QR codes for Whole Foods to do their returns at Amazon Fresh, is that still true today? We have no WF but have an AF and only 4 miles away and open for another month.

Just a heads up for anyone shopping at the Irvine Marketplace Amazon Fresh. I reached out to the store’s MOD today to ask whether the location was closing temporarily or transitioning into a Whole Foods. Their response was brief and clear: **the store will be permanently closing**. No mention of a conversion to Whole Foods or another Amazon concept—just a full closure. Sharing in case others were wondering or planning future trips. I haven’t used it in a long time but things are weird with other deliveries and the ice this week. I’m hosting at 6 tonight so I just chose the grocery store that had the earliest time (10 am). I paid priority as well. My current time is now 1:40 which puts me in a bind. And no one’s shopping yet but they’re saying they’ll charge me $15 to cancel. I don’t think I’ve EVER had an Instacart delivered in the correct time window. Target, Amazon fresh, Whole Foods etc have always been perfect. I don’t think I’ll use it again. I’m just so annoyed that I needed to vent.

Does anyone know if the Amazon Fresh at Irvine Marketplace (Jamboree Rd) is permanently closing, or if it’s planned to be converted into a Whole Foods? I’ve seen reports saying some locations may convert, but not clear on this one.

I’ve been using Amazon as I have an Amazon Fresh physical location close to my house. However, all of their locations are closing so I’m not sure how it will affect me. I’ve looked at Walmart+ and Instacart+, but I’m not sure which makes more sense, or neither. I can go to the store sometimes but some health issues make it difficult. If you have any recommendations between those two, or a completely different option, I would appreciate it. Edit: Thanks all for the advice! I’m not on food assistance or have health issues severe enough to where I would need to find someone to help out, it’s more just about balancing priorities/saving time and energy when I can.
