I was gifted a sourdough starter kit for Christmas and have been doing a bit of research online and in this sub, and now have gotten myself confused! The starter I’ve been given is currently refrigerated, and the instructions that have come with it is to basically feed it with 200g flour, 100g water and put back in fridge for use the next day. Does it not need to be at room temp when I feed it/prepare it? It also only mentions doing discard when I haven’t baked for a week.
