Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Specsavers Latest Community Discussions About SpecsaversOpticians that focus on low nose bridge/Asian face shape1d agoI'm trying to futureproof because I can't sustainably fly to Japan every couple of years just to buy glasses, and the last time I asked about refitting lenses Specsavers wanted a king's ransom for it (and they had no idea what low nose bridge was). Where do you get your glasses if you have a low nose bridge? I would prefer in-store because I gambled on Kits and the fit was a lie. Closer to Surrey the better if possible, but will absolutely travel if highly recommended. Thank you. Specsavers store manager called to block me from her store4d agoI had an appalling experience at Pitt St Sydney central specsavers store. Save your blocking for something else cuz I’m never gonna come back at all regardless to deal with this bs. I ordered two pair of sunglasses last year and did an eye test. After I got the glasses, one was incorrectly put as clear glasses, one was quite dizzy to wear on. Even though stated clearly on their website that you could change or return within 3 months, the store manager was arrogant in the call and insisted I couldn’t change. I said how about I use an old prescription. Now she came up with a “policy” which I couldn’t find anywhere on their website that I can only change this time and never again. I... Frustrated in part14d agoBecause of not knowing that every 3 yrs i need an eye exam n my glasses are covered so from now on I'll not do a eye exam till fall of '28 in order to have my glasses covered by dec that yr or by Jan '29. Its so frustrating when they seriously didn't say anything to tell those of us on pwd. So just freaking great. Once moved to Vancouver island I'll be sure that I tell whoever the eye dr is at the time not to book me something till late '28 most likely dec so I can get it all covered in Jan '29 smh. Gotta freaking love ministry on the bs that isn't covered much. Idk y but this is totally ridiculous n massively bs. So yeah no more going to a place wh... Specsavers.27d ago[Specsavers Perth Opticians & Hearing Centre](https://www.specsavers.co.uk/stores/perth) Ortho k lenses29d agoDoes anyone know anyplace in Glasgow, particularly south Lanarkshire or city centre that offers ortho k lenses? Tried looking online but can’t really find anything. Specsavers website says to phone up local stores but just wanted to ask around first before I start calling. Thanks! What companies stock smart glasses in store so we can try them for fit/style and/or smart features?30d agoI'm considering smart glasses, but want to make sure I am happy with a style that fits my face and ideally try some features (mainly sound quality). But ordering some online and sending them back to try another pair etc seems like agro. I checked Specsavers when I went for my eye test and they didn't have any in store. Specsavers Lens & Coatings31d agoBased on research most of the store chains that are not Essilor owned stores such as Walmart, Costco etc. use Essilor lens/coatings due to Essilor Luxottica’s monopolistic nature and it being a vertically integrated company. However, when it comes to specsavers, I was wondering where they source their lens and coatings. From their website it appears they ‘control’ their own production. Are they also vertically integrated? For instance, instead of transitions, they call their transiting lenses ‘reactions’. One of which is a ‘Fast’ reactions and other option being ‘Dark’ with both being same price. Is this equivalent to Transition GenS and Transition XtraActive? Additional... EB World Plus - Let's Talk.33d agoA lot of posts I've seen on here tend to be about EB World Plus, the semi-controversial membership upgrade that's been around for almost the past year and a half. But is it actually any good? Here's the perspective of a current EB employee for over half a decade; The short version? Yeah, EB World Plus isn't bad. The in-company culture around it? F***ing horrible. Let's talk. The 12 month membership works out to a little over $4 a month in Australia, and honestly? In general, it's pretty decent - it's actually great if you tend to buy the things it promotes. - Perk 1: Free Gift - Let's be honest, this one pretty much nails it as a perk. You sign up... No luck finding a Pre-Reg36d agoI’m so disheartened. I apply to so many stores and either get no response or “sorry we’re only looking for locals”. I’m from Manchester, it’s an optometry hot pot. I’m also part of the the last to ever do a BSc in optometry, so I’m worried if I don’t get a pre reg this year, I won’t get one ever. How do I go about this? Quality differences across industry36d agoLooking to hear from those who work in the optical industry or those with experience shopping at various locations regarding differences in quality in your high end stores such as LensCrafters and Pearle Vision which are all owned by Essilor Luxxotica vs chains such as Specsavers, Walmart. Costco etc. The high end stores I mentioned above often advertise their ‘advanced’ lens technology and ‘intelligent’ lenses. In reality, is there any actual difference? These stores tend to be highly priced, and as for the frames, I couldn’t care less about designer labels. I was able to recently get a basic frame and lenses with all the bells & whistles from Specsavers and save a few h... Transition lenses38d agoWhere is the best place either in store or online where I could order a good transition prescription lens for my Ray-Ban wayfarer? , I got a quote from specsavers for $260 but I’m not sure if there transition lenses are any good Alcon Precision 7... now Lumiere 7? (via SpecSavers UK)45d agoI have a mix of daily and weekly contacts all ordered via SpecSavers. The weeklies they originally gave me are the **Precision 7** (manufactured by Alcon) which work well and when I ran out, I popped into the store to order more - all went well, no indication that anything changed. The order of my new weeklies arrived in the mail today and both packages are **Lumiere 7** (also manufactured by Alcon). When I look at Alcon's website they only showcase the Precision 7s options. Going to SpecSavers website now only lists the Lumiere 7s for weekly options. Are these ultimately the exact same contacts but just with a label specific to SpecSavers? Only confused because SpecSavers didn't... Specsavers issued incorrect prescription, now my son's eyesight has worsened47d agoHi there, My son went for an eye test at Specsavers for his first pair of glasses in August. We went to the hospital yesterday and the doctor said to stop wearing these glasses immediately as he should only have a plain lens for his right eye. Specsavers put in a +2.5 lens instead. As a result his vision in his right eye (his "good" eye) has deteriorated quite significantly. I suppose my question is, how does this happen? We were in store for the eye test for nearly 2 hours. Is it simply human error? I returned to Specsavers to get a new pair with the correct prescription and they are saying I need to pay for any add-ons my son had previously, such as the slimmer glass (... PSA: My face is stuck in a permanent squint and I blame myself (and the sun)48d ago**TL;DR** My face is stuck in a permanent summer squint from forgetting my sunnies, and honestly, my eyes deserve better. Australia’s UV is no joke, so think of sunglasses like SPF for your eyes. Specsavers has affordable, stylish polarised sunnies that help protect your eyes *and* save your face from doing all the hard work. Fellow squint-sufferers, unite! Or rather, *try* to unite, because half of us can't properly see each other through the glare. What's the most hilariously inconvenient time you've forgotten your sunnies? And what truly unhinged "solution" did you invent on the fly? **Did you:** * Use your car’s shade as a shield at the beach...
