Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Screwfix Latest Community Discussions About ScrewfixSpotlight issues14d agoSpotlight gave up a while ago, replaced with new but only seems to light up a tiny bit per pics. Any reason could be doing this? Replaced the connector with this from Screwfix as seal on old one looked bad. It’s not the spotlight as tried with another I had and same issue. Drilling into bathroom tile. Are these the correct drill bits to use. Do I need anything else as well?30d ago[www.screwfix.com/p/titan-tile-glass-drill-bits-4-piece-set/258pr](http://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-tile-glass-drill-bits-4-piece-set/258pr) https://preview.redd.it/57ofw474dk8g1.png?width=1098&format=png&auto=webp&s=2d05e2913bff6a44da5b170da41c2039a8efecc7 I am trying to fit a shower curtain rail plus a shower caddy. I'll need to drill into tile for the shower curtain pole. For the shower caddy, I tried drilling through the grout/space between tiles with the normal drill bits I had. It goes about 3-4 mm through the grout and no further. Are these the correct drill bits to get. Do I drill straight through with these bits or do I start with these and then use s... Adding pump to unvented hot water cylinder31d agoLooking at adding a universal shower pump to this unvented hot water svstem so I can add a shower in the bath in the main bathroom (just a bath atm) The pump has two inlets (cold and hot) and two outlets (hot and cold), trying to figure out which is which and best place to install it. Something like this model here: https://www.toolstation.com/stuart-turner-monsoon-universal-twin-shower-pump/p61406?store=DF Q1) which pipes are which and why does the cylinder has so many pipes coming out of it, looks like 2 at bottom and one midway plus the inlet at the top Q2) where is best place to put it, thinking left hand side Q3) do I need a top entry S tank flange for this setup if its a universal ... 95% of staff at local DIY shops are LGBT, localised phenomenon or wider trend?35d agoobviously not a very serious post, but I'm in the UK and regularly go to local DIY supply stores, mainly Screwfix and Toolstation. I've noticed lately that most of the staff are LGBT. I thought it was interesting because a lot of tradesmen go to these shops and I'd have assumed they were more likely to be homophobes/bigots, but maybe that's my own bias. I was wondering if we're infiltrating the trades world wide or it's just a local thing. Replacing kitchen tap40d agoHello, I need to replace the kitchen tap. The new tap has the flexible connections, so I'll need to replace the pipes underneath between the stop valves. My current shopping list (screwfix), is: * 15mm pipe * Compression valve Tee * male coupler * equal coupler * ptfe tape Do I need anything else to make the joints solid and waterproof? Thanks in advance and best wishes Note: I have tried 10x plumbers, quotes and availability isn't possible. How to remove this tension rod end from old kitchen drawer front in order to attach it to new drawer front ?47d agoIt’s the end a tension rod for a pan drawer (there’s another exactly the same on the other end of the drawer front too.) I’ve spent an hour searching screwfix forums but haven’t managed to find an answer. Do we just need to buy new ones from a hardware store, or can we salvage these ? The rest of the cupboards and drawers are done - this is the last bit. Have tried twisting, pulling etc, but don’t want to damage anything. If it helps, all components were from Moore’s Kitchens & most of the hardware appears to be from Blum. Thanks in advance ! Has anyone applied to work at Screwfix lately? Did I do the right thing?55d agoI applied on the screwfix careers website for a retail assistant job, and the process seemed oddly simple. I was expecting to answer questions or do an assessment or something, but it was just a case of submitting a CV. There wasn't even a place to write a cover letter or anything. I thought that would be on the next page but it just went straight to submitting. I'm considering dropping in to the actual store with my CV and a cover letter, would that help my chances? Power shower help59d agoHi all My father is in need of an update to his shower. The pressure is diabolical and a hose outside would deliver better pressure. However, the more i read about power showers the more I'm getting confused so i guess this is an 'explain to me like I'm 5' scenario. I've added his current shower and a listing from Screwfix of a potential power shower but Google is saying the 8ltr p min situation isn't good? I'm confused - is the purpose of the power shower not to make it powerful?! Any insight would be amazing Thanks [H] 60-70% Most Payments [W] Amazon GC Any Country | Steam Wallet: Any | UK/GBP: Most Gift Cards e.g ASDA, Tesco, Tesco,...62d agoNOTE: I WILL BE PAYING A FURTHER £5 LESS IF THE TOTAL GIFT CARDS YOU ARE GIVING ME ARE LESS THAN £50 Apart from the mentioned below, I only accept UK cards PLEASE GIVE FULL DETAILS IN YOUR OPENING MESSAGE! what gift card you have the amount you have what payment methods you can accept, paypal will be the highest What the source is with proof \\----------------------------------------Details---------------------------------- \\\*\\\*\\\*My Impersonators (DO NOT TRADE WITH): Right-Trick-5848, righttick\\\_5848 Note the misspellings, note the dash "-" instead of the underscore "\\\_", always verify it is me in PMs Amazon USA, DE Germany, FR France, ES Spain, IT It... Roof repair advice needed64d agoOn Friday my flat roof started leaking and water was coming through the kitchen light. My research so far tells me that my roof is fibreglass, and I can use a fibreglass repair kit with matting, resin and a hardener and then use flowcoat on top. Is this true? I can't find a kit at b&q or Screwfix, if I need it quickly does anyone have any hardware stores to recommend? Can I use any kind of type to patch it without doing more damage until a kit arrives if I have to order it? Does my roof look like fibreglass? I'd really appreciate any advice as I am panicking quite a bit. Screwfix App83d agoThe Screwfix App has come to the Google Play store in Ireland. Heating control upgrade?88d agoHi, I have very basic heating controls similar to photo. I want to change to Smart Control so I can operate heating when not home. Is this possible? Any info would be greatly appreciated Tool storage recommendations?89d agoMy tools are currently everywhere, and looking for solutions to get organised. I like the idea of a tower system, not having to go back and forth for tools. DeWalt as an example as I have a couple of their tools, and snapping them together, feels like a good idea. But for the same price I could get a rolling tool chest, which the worktop could come in really handy for all sorts of jobs. Even if the material is a bit cheap. I don't have the floor space for a cabinet, so mobile storage feels key. Any suggestions? I was looking under £150.
