Will I get better reception switching from ASDA mobile to Vodafone?

9d ago

I've been on ASDA mobile for years and after a really bad experience the other day in London where I just couldn't get signal, I've decided to switch. ASDA mobile use Vodafone's masts, of course, but they still offer the best connectivity in the UK. So – do Vodafone arbitrarily limit the functionality of ASDA mobile users to get them to switch over to Vodafone's overpriced plans or would my service be the exact same? If it's Voda's service I have the issue with, is my only real option O2? Thanks for any help.

The Government Paid O2 to Monitor 25 Million Phones to Track EV Drivers. Nobody Asked Permission.

12d ago

The Department for Transport commissioned O2 to trawl the web browsing habits and movement data of 25 million devices, including children's, to identify electric vehicle owners. The study cost £602,000, ran for two years, and was quietly published this week. Somewhere in the past two years, a version of you was being identified, tagged and tracked by the British government based on whether you visited an EV-related website twice in a month. Not a suspected criminal. Not a person of interest to law enforcement. A driver who looked at a car charging app or browsed an EV comparison site on their phone, and was consequently flagged by a government-commissioned surveillance programme ...

En route pour 1 millions! La révolution Hgraf, le graphene parfait

HydroGraph Clean Power (HG.CSE / HGCPF.OTCQB) – In a world where geopolitical tensions are escalating, copper and silver prices are skyrocketing (copper at over $13,000/ton, silver in a structural deficit of 200 million ounces/year), arms spending is climbing (global defense budgets increasing by 10-15% annually), the space industry is accelerating (space market at $1 trillion by 2040), and energy shortages are becoming critical (green energy demand +30% by 2030), it's time to zoom in on a technology that could change everything: HydroGraph Clean Power's pure graphene. I'm not here for baseless hype – this is a complete data development based on verified facts, scalabili...

Will Three block a SIM if I make 40-50 calls in one day? Small business use, not spam

18d ago

Interesting situation came up with a client. She runs a small accounting firm. Around 50 regular clients. Every quarter she needs to remind them about deadlines, tax returns, VAT submissions, that kind of thing. Used to spend an entire day just calling people one by one. Helped her set up an auto dialer system recently. It was a first time for me dealing with this too actually. You prepare a recorded message, upload a client list, system calls everyone automatically. First batch went out yesterday, all went good, but my concern is her mobile carrier, she’s with Three. We're using a regular UK SIM for the outbound calls. If they see 45 calls going out in a few hours, will they thin...

Is Wi-Fi Calling available on the Tab S7?

18d ago

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 (Android 13.0, OneUI 5.1.1) with an O2 UK SIM in it, which I mostly use for data but occasionally for calls. It usually works fine for calls but today, I am consistently having calls dropped on a particular helpline number. The problem could be at their end but it could equally be the O2 network as there have been intermittent issues with a local mast recently. My expectation was that Wi-Fi calling was enabled and would intervene if the mobile signal was unreliable but I can't find it anywhere in any settings, including by searching system settings and looking in the phone app. Should Wi-Fi Calling be available and, if so, where would I find it?

Helped a client set up automated calls for reminders. Works great but worried about the carrier blocking the SIM. Anyone...

Mobile Internet UK

26d ago

We go camping a fair bit and the only game I really play at the moment is Arc Raiders. I've had a 5G O2 mobile hotspot for years which has been more than enough to play online games (get over 100mbps) but O2 signal in my area is really inconsistent. Has anyone had any luck with the Starlink mobile Internet? thanks

iPhone 13 mini calls breaking up on WiFi and cellular = hardware issue?

29d ago

I bought a used iPhone 13 mini (for my wife) from an Amazon Marketplace seller in October. (I'm in the UK) The issue has been ongoing: calls break up intermittently but often enough to be really annoying. This happens: • On WhatsApp calls over WiFi • On normal mobile calls • On O2 mobile data • On strong WiFi (I’m hardwired via ethernet at work and the WiFi at home is solid) • In different locations I’m also on O2 with another phone and that phone works fine in the same environments, so I don’t think it’s a network issue. It feels device-specific, that is my strong hunch. Signal strength appears normal. The call doesn’t drop entirely — audio just bre...

Got connected to PLMN 311 588 (USCC IoT)

29d ago

Connected by using Pronto Mobile which runs on O2-UK, the carrier name means: UScellular-Virtual Evolved Packet Core-Machine to Machine The 5G (n71 @ 20MHz) was coming from T-Mobile MOCN and the LTE was coming from MOCN too, as U.S. Cellular never operated in the area that I’m in right now, but for some reason they enabled all of USCC’s PLMNs across the state even if they never operated in a area Thought this was cool ok mmwave beta 🚨🚨🚨🚨😳😳😳😳😳 I can’t connect to 311589 tho😢😢😢😢🤬🤬🤬🤬

Technical Update: Enhanced 5G SA n28 (700MHz) Detection

36d ago

# Technical Update: Enhanced 5G SA n28 (700MHz) Detection Published: February 2026 | Developer: **theBFGuk** # The Problem: Frequency Overlap A common hurdle in mobile network diagnostics is the **700MHz spectrum**. Because this frequency is shared between legacy 4G (Band 28) and modern 5G (n28), many Android devices and diagnostic tools incorrectly default to LTE terminology, even when connected to a **5G Standalone (SA)** core. # The Engineering Fix I have overhauled the internal mapping logic to prioritize **NR-ARFCN** (New Radio Absolute Radio Frequency Channel Number) verification over standard broadcast strings. This ensures that users on UK networks like **O2** and **Vod...
