Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Thrift Store Latest Community Discussions About Thrift StoresThings to do around Windermere/Winter Garden?4h agoHey there! Will be visiting family the second week of January. Looking for things to do while my niece is in school in the Windermere/Winter Garden area. I absolutely **** driving in highways. Cute coffee shops, antique stores, thrift stores, gardens, etc. Any recommendations are appreciated! Worried My Brother (30M, TBI history) Is in a Controlling / Toxic Relationship With His Girlfriend (25F)5h agoHi everyone, I’m looking for some outside perspective because I’m genuinely concerned about my brother and not sure how (or if) I should step in. Ages: Brother: 30M His girlfriend: 25F Me: 29M My wife: 30F (pregnant, 34 weeks) Background: My brother suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) in 2012. While he’s very functional, I strongly believe he still has some cognitive and emotional challenges from it. He’s a good guy, very non-confrontational, keeps to himself, and has struggled to get fully on his feet. He’s currently still in college. His girlfriend has been coming over to our house more and more. She has a ton of energy, is extremely loud, talks nonstop, and says she... makeup and perfume (july-december 2025)6h agohttps://preview.redd.it/0sb0nq27ocag1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2650a7bad09e39ccdf038a48924d9d2fc77b9e1d https://preview.redd.it/2l01gkx7ocag1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9690e91fce9fb1cdce873725827cf4317755ec3b i did not add any skincare or personal items according to this page rules so this is my makeup and perfume pan from July-December 2025 picture 1: Fenty Beauty riri - rose mauve gloss bomb = will not repurchase although it was nice -- it has a texture that it melt quick. Looking for thrift stores that's an alternative haven in tokyo11h agoI'll be going to Japan (more precisely Tokyo) next week and will be staying there for a few weeks. I'm going with my cousins and some of us are big fans of anything subculture or alternative-related. We wanted to go to a thrift store but most thrift stores that YT recommend are just for luxury bags or used trinkets. I'm looking for anything weird, make it gothic, decora, etc etc. just make it an alt haven! I may have too big of a hope but I want to find something like a japanese goodwill. It's not 100% curated but there's definitely a gem or two for those who look hard enough. TLDR: Looking for the Tokyo equivalent of goodwill, No vintage shops please, but you can s... I work at the consignment shop on Main Street. (2)14h ago**Sunday, July 21st, 7:00 pm** Sara Rooter was buried beside her mother today. The funeral was nice, the gathering at Rooter’s after was alright. He won’t starve based off the sheer amount of deli trays and Pyrex pans in his fridge and deep freezer. I didn’t stay very long, it was too crowded for my liking and it was too hot to keep sitting in my black pantsuit in a packed house. A note for your benefit dear reader, I know that suit from the thrift store looks fantastic and you want something nice to wear to weddings, funerals and court but make sure it’s not wool. I haven’t been sleeping well, but that feels like a punchline or something. I never sleep well. I guess I’ve be... 1 Bedroom Lease in 3B/1B Unit in JP $1150/mo - Available Sep 202615h ago* **3 bed, 1 bath** unit in Jamaica Plain along Centre St. with 1 BEDROOM AVAILABLE for **$1150/mo** from Sep 2026 - Aug 2027. Ralp Lauren Pink-tinted wrap for free from thrift store15h agoPicked these out of a basket at the checkout counter of a thrift shop. "Ralph Lauren" on one temple, and "Made in Italy. RL 913/U/S TW3 68 15 115>" on the other temple. The nice lady gave them to me for free. Google lens/Gemini can't come up with anything, and neither does a search for that model number. Anyone know anything about these? Think they're actual RL, or just a weird fake? Perfume Poems - Imaginary Authors (part 1!)16h agohere is part one of my poems/reviews of my gifted imaginary authors short story collection! in short: i absolutely love this house. each scent is uniquely evocative and i wish i WISH i could afford like five full size bottles. more to come!! some brief reviews: ABANDONED MANSION: spicy, a little bitter, but turns into something so pleasant. feelings of being lost and then discovering something unexpected. images of a house by a lake, dust-covered kitchen cabinets, eerily quiet midday. 8/10, would enjoy FS but might not spend the money. CITY ON FIRE: definitely burnt and resin-y, almost bong water at first. feels like being strung out after smoking too many cigs. had almost a watery concre... Advice on how to approach security guards who are profiling and harassing homeless patrons17h agoHi! I’m not currently experiencing homelessness myself, but I’m coming on here for some advice on how to best intervene when I’m in a store and see a security guard profiling a homeless person and/or telling them to leave unfairly. I live in the downtown of my city so the security guards here can be pretty hostile, particularly as of late. I’ve intervened directly a couple times before when a security guard was either assaulting or seemed like they were about to assault a homeless shopper, but I’m a bit more unsure about what to do when they’re profiling someone or escorting someone out but not directly being violent or as aggressive. I witnessed an incident in a thrift store tod... Some thrifted bags I upcycled recently for the shop18h agoSomething I love doing is turning normal bags I find at the local thrift store into ita bags! Quality of the conversion varies, but these are the ones I'm most proud of. Ones that have flaws should have some sort of clear showcase displaying said flaws, though. If one of these catches your eye, or you would like to see some more bags, feel free to check out my shop: [https://dextive-shop.square.site](https://dextive-shop.square.site) (USA only) How do you survive the halfway point?18h agoI'm at the midway point of my weight loss, and this seems to be the hardest part mentally. I've lost enough weight that I had to buy a new wardrobe from the thrift store (clothes cost too much to buy brand new every 4-5 months), and I'm comfortably in a size 18/XL now. When my mom handed me a size 1X shirt at Christmas, I thought for sure it wouldn't fit and was surprised when it did. When I saw size 18 pants, I thought for sure they wouldn't fit. My brain hasn't caught up with my current size, but it's caught up enough that when I look at a size 22, it immediately goes, "Whoa, no way! Those are way too big and won't fit you!" even though t... Bought a used Wii from the thrift store and it still had some old Nintendo channel news cached1d agoThe "Buy-It-For-Life" Philosophy: Escaping the Trap of Cheap Replacements1d agoIn a bad economy, the instinct is to buy the cheapest version of everything. We reach for the $10 toaster, the $20 boots, and the $5 frying pan. However, there is a hidden "poverty tax" on cheap goods: they break quickly, forcing you to buy them again and again. The "Buy-It-For-Life" (BIFL) philosophy flips this script. It suggests that spending a little more upfront on a high-quality, durable item is actually the ultimate frugal move. By identifying goods that can last decades—or even a lifetime—you effectively "delete" that expense from your future budget forever. 1. Identifying "Generational" Quality To shop with a BIFL mindset, you hav... Every piece in my antique jewellery collection was under $150 CAD. Here are my best tips for collecting on a budget 🩷1d agoThe title says it all. All of the pieces in the photos were purchased for under $150 CAD over the last 5 years. All are solid gold ranging from 9-14k. I’ve seen lots of posts on here by people interested in collecting fine antique jewellery with limited funds looking for advice. Here are my best tips for those of you looking to start a collection on a tight budget: 1. Set Realistic Expectations If you want to collect antique jewellery on a budget, you first need to accept that you won’t be able to purchase the Crown Jewels. Set realistic expectations based on your budget and let that guide your search (i.e. don’t expect to build a collection of high carart gold items if you are not w... Where to find cheap golf clubs?1d agoJust came home from college and brand new to golf. I'm looking for an inexpensive set of used clubs to start playing golf with my husband. (Budget is about $200-300 for EVERYTHING) I've checked FB marketplace, but looking for other options. I know the golf stores are usually pretty expensive. Are there any specific thrift stores, flea markets, pro shops, or even garage sales in certain parts of town that would be good to focus my efforts on finding a good set of clubs? [Longines Oposition & Seiko Quartz] found for $60 at a thrift store in Canada1d agoI usually don't browse thrift stores, just because I don't really have a good eye for thrift items unlike some people (which I admire incredibly for being thrift savvy). What I do, is travel frequently for work and have the opportunity to visit different places along the road. Just decided to pass by a thrift store I saw on one of my work trips and browse their collection of watches. Not much stood out to me, just your usual fashion brand-esque watches with really bad quartz movements. Until I saw this one stored at the back of the display case. Snatched it up immediately along with an old Seiko Quartz which looks to be from the 70s. Good to know as well that the store had all ... My MIL goes out of her way to get us a slightly different version of what we asked for1d agoUpdate: i just an etsy gift card taped to the inside of the box my shirt came in. The shirt i asked for came from Etsy. She could have just bought the shirt from Etsy. Her brain confuses me. Let me start off by saying that i am so grateful to be able to receive gifts from my husbands family. Every year, we all send each other Christmas lists. We usually spend around $40-$100 on one another at my in laws house. However. What drives me absolutely insane is that when my mil will send us a list, we get her exactly what’s on the list. And the best quality. But for our gifts, it’s like she goes to Amazon and finds the cheapest quality to get us. I asked for some new 49ers shirts for Christma... Thrift store owners pls help- I’m from Hyderabad1d agoHi everyone, I’m looking for people who are running online thrift stores (or planning on starting one). I live with 2 girls and the 3 of us collectively have accumulated too many clothes over the past few years (especially during covid due to online shopping). I have lost a lot of weight recently so majority of my clothes aren’t fitting. My entire family is now moving abroad with limited luggage space to take with us. The majority of items are branded new, with tags, new without tags or worn once. The entire lot has already been taken to the clothing donation at an orphanage and they have taken what they can use. Most of the trendy clothes they have not taken. I would really appreciate i... Who remembers True Life?1d agoThis show put things into perspective for me, sometimes making me realize how "good" I had it, but sometimes making me realize I could have been an episode... Some memorable ones for me: The young man whose family frequently got evicted and he would help his dad with odd jobs like yardwork to make money. I think they also "grilled out" because the power or gas had been turned off at their house, a single wide trailer I believe. The older sister trying to raise and financially support her younger siblings. I remember she drove a van. She had to take them school clothes shopping at their local thrift store. The fitness conscious/body builder who had calf muscle implant... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
