Also, I have a fondness for these old Gamestop cases. My Top 5 Pieces [UG Only]2h agoI heard we were doing Top 5 ☺️ I collect a variety of glowing glass, but for this list, we're keeping it strictly UG. Here are my Top 5 pieces of Uranium glass! **1. Vaseline Perfume Bottle** - I got this perfume bottle as a gift! It was one of my earliest pieces of vaseline & I absolutely adore old perfume bottles to boot. I really enjoy this one. **2. Milkglass Planter** - I am so sorry, the name of this item escapes me at the moment 😭 BUT! This is my only piece of milkglass! I found it in the wild, seller didn't know what it was; labeled as a sugar bowl, no mention of UG, though they had other UG items for sale. Shop owner was also amazed by it. We collectively... shop at my den!! i’m willing to negotiate prices too4h agobest thrift store(s) to find a cheap, working sewing machine?4h agoThis may be unrealistic, but I'm trying to find a *very basic*, older sewing machine for less than $50, ideally in the $20-$40 range. Marketplace has turned up nothing good - everything is either broken or $100+, same with Craigslist and eBay. I haven't seen many at Goodwill, and what is there is in their ultra price gouged "handpicked" section. I've been checking the Resource locations in Williston, Burlington, and Morrisville, and the Habitat Restore in Williston to no avail. Morrisville had a couple for $40-$60. but that's on the higher end of my budget and they weren't really what I'm looking for. I'm genuinely shocked at how little luck I... 80s-inspired dresses6h agoHi, I'm in the very early stages of planning my fusion wedding, and for the western portion I'd really love an 80s to early 90s style dresses with big sleeves, a basque waist, and lace or other embellishments. My main plan is to thrift a dress and get some alterations done. My only concern is that I'm not a fan of the super shiny polyester-type material I often see. I'm going to look for less shiny ones in thrift stores/online but I was curious if anyone knew of any stores or online shops that sell this same sort of silhouette but in a higher quality fabric? I found one store online (wonderland by lilian) but they appear to be a scam, and I've been a long time fan ... Stabilising Rear of Board6h agoI have an oil on board painting which is in mint condition on the front, however in a couple of places on the back the board is starting to flake and fall off in pieces. Painting is about 40 years old. As with many pieces I rescue from op shops (thrift stores) and antique dealers, it had likely spent a good deal of time in a garage, shed or antiques warehouse exposed to less than ideal environmental conditions. Board is approx 4-5m thick (3/16" ?), the flaked-off areas have reduced that by half. It's still firm and I'm not worried about it currently, but I don't want it to get any worse. The idea I had was to get some wood glue, dilute with a little bit of water so it ... NFL jersey6h agoI'm looking into getting a new Steelers NFL jersey, but don't know where to look. Now I wouldn't mind getting a Aaron Rodgers jersey expecially since I found a NFL Shop promo code for 35% off. So if go that route would you guys suggest getting a Game jersey or Vapor Fuse Limited. Though I liked Big Ben more since I grew up with him as our QB and have some youth Nike game jerseys of him. So I I would go the 3rd party (while trying to still get a authentic jersey) route what would you guys suggest. I live out in Indiana so if I were to go for something like a used Reebok, thrift stores are not a very good option since I ain't in PA. I would rather a new Jersey and like I ... Thrifting for Wedding17h agoI’m getting married in Jacksonville, FL in May and planning a small micro wedding. I’ve already booked our Airbnb and don’t need much decor since most of our family is traveling from Philly (with a few in North Carolina). I originally planned to DIY most of the decor, but I’d really love a vintage furniture vibe (think small seating moments, statement pieces, etc.). I have about 10 confirmed guest coming from Philly, ideally would like to seat 20 people. Since I don’t need a lot of furniture, I’m torn between two options: 1. Hiring a wedding coordinator who’s probably gonna encourage me to use high end vendors 2. Hiring someone local who loves thrifting and could source vi... Thrift stores18h agoI’m wondering about your guys recommendations for niche thrift stores. I know about the goodwill and Salvation Army I want the charity shops run by a couple of people that not everyone might know about. THANKS!! First ever book. Inspired by TIG. Pls critique.20h ago**Chapter 1** I rarely receive visitors, especially at this late hour, so the knock startles me. I rise from the couch and walk down the hall to investigate. When I open the door, the cold night air hits my face, and standing there is a broad-shouldered man, nearly six feet tall, impeccably dressed as if he’s just returned from a funeral. ‘Good evening, ma’am!’ ‘Hello. How can I help you, sir?’ ‘I have a package for Miss Abrams.’ ‘That’s odd. I haven’t ordered anything recently,’ I say, trying not to stare at his beautiful blond locks. ‘It’s a letter. I’m afraid I can’t provide you with more details. It’s confidential. If you could please sign here,... Making a Reigns Inspired Shop management card game21h ago**Hi everyone!** I’m currently working on a narrative-driven shop management game inspired by **Reigns series** (one of my favorite game series). In **Shop Crush**, you run a small thrift store where every customer is a puzzle. You analyze their behavior, obsessions, and emotional traits to decide how to sell them items - balancing profit, reputation, and your own survival. Each customer hides a disturbing personal story, and over time, the shop itself begins to feel less like a business and more like a psychological trap. **The game focuses on:** • Tense, limited turn-based gameplay. You have a limited number of turns to reach financial goals, while each client has their own shoppi... A shop management life sim where you try survive financially but people matter more than numbers (or do they?)21h ago**Hi everyone!** I’m working on an indie game called **Shop Crush**: a narrative-driven shop management/life sim. You run a small thrift store. Every day you open the shop, manage a limited supply and money, interact with customers, and try to survive financially. But instead of simple NPCs, every customer has personal **obsessions**, emotions towards you, and **unique shopping** **patterns**. There is also a mystery element woven into the routine, revealed through environmental details and unusual interactions. To uncover the truth, you solve surreal **Literal Illusion** puzzles. It’s a special puzzle with an image inside and image. *(Illusions are made with the help of Think Diffus... Am I overreacting?22h agoTW: brief mention of miscarriage and cancer Please bear with me as this is my first real post and it’s going to be pretty long. I, 26F, have a little sister 20F. We both have daughters, 13 months old and 19 months old, respectively. My husband is in the military, and we live in Texas, while my family, including my sister, is in Illinois. To give some more background, my sister found out she was pregnant at 18 and didn’t even know who the father was. When she figured it out, they began dating, but have been off and on, and are super volatile with each other, even as far as putting hands on each other in front of their daughter. My sister refuses to work, quitting every job she starts ... 80s fashion - help23h agoHi! I’ve recently become very interested in 80s fashion. I always have been, but now I'm interested in it more than ever. I’m a high school student and I don’t have too much money to spend. I’m very interested in the pastels and the denim or that era (along with the bright colors and leathers, so basically multiple dimensions of the fashion, but mainly the pastel & denim) but I live in an area where thrift stores aren’t very good for those types of clothes (there’s a ton of SHEIN stuff in there…) and sometimes online shops like Depop and eBay get expensive. I was wondering where I could purchase some good 80s vintage pieces? Or even modern pieces that look 80s? (... Help finding tops like this in Canada!1d agoHi!! I really have a love for tops in the style I’ll show in the photos below. But I’m really struggling to find where to shop for them. The tops I find on Amazon Canada aren’t flowy enough for my taste. Does anyone know of any companies that have these similar tops for sale or maybe how I would search for them? Note: I am checking thrift stores! Guys… any thrift stores near Powai? Looking for budget finds1d agoLooking for affordable thrift or street-shopping spots near Powai. Clothes, jackets, sneakers anything budget friendly works.Willing to travel nearby if it’s worth it. Thanks!☺️ Found a DREAM item today at the thrift store.1d agoI have been an LPS lover and collector for like 15 years now. As I got older, I began to be a big thrifter as well. I have been SEARCHING for LPS in antique malls and thrift shops in every town that I drive through frequently, and I haven't ever found anything. Today... I am doing my usual LPS sweep at the thrift store. Still nothing. Wait... what is that... Eight Day Itinerary1d agoI know this is an ambitious pace, but with 8 days I’ll have to adjust on the fly. That said , is there anything I’m overlooking that would be worth rearranging the schedule for? Yes, the format and organization is generated by AI. I’ve never been before so I did some research and asked AI to organize what i found based on Geography. I’m going to visit buddy in the Navy and trying to use the little extra time I’m there to do some sightseeing . Any actual help would be greatly appreciated. **Monday : Hiroshima & Kobe Steak** Start: 06:33 AM | Focus: History, Island Views & Premium Beef \* 06:33 AM – Yokosuka to Hiroshima: Take the Nozomi 3 (Change at Shin-Yokoha... Nitch is Only Buying High Quality Items at Savers1d agoNitch begins her video sitting in her car and explaining that she's only buying high quality items at Savers. So is this high quality: 1. A picture of a dog playing the piano with an audience of frogs 2. A BROKEN plaque of a little kneeling praying child. She snagged it so fast she didn't notice it was broken. But that's ok she rescued it! 3. Santa stuffed down a chimney salt and pepper shakers ( these scream high quality) 4. "Keer-it" spoon rest.🥕 I think this is available at the Guggenheim gift shop 5. A treasure chest that looks like it was buried in the yard during the Nixon era. She obviously doesn't know high quality. Some other Nitch nuggets. ... AITAH for not being excited about a pawn shop?1d agoMy husband and I (mid 20s) went on a date (with our 1 year old) to grab our favorite treat. I knew that after we grab our treat, that my husband wanted to go grab a tool from a pawn shop. So I wasn’t upset about going to a pawn shop but once we got there, my husband got out of the car and said, “you coming?” I said “oh do you want me to? I was just going to stay on the car” He seemed disappointed, so I explained to him that I don’t like pawn shops. He thought it was weird but left us alone while he went in. About 30 seconds later, he came out and told me “Babe, you have to check this out, it’s so cool!” So with his enthusiasm, I got my son out of the car. My husband then sa... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
