I've started noticing coffee shops using super automatic machines more and more for espresso based drinks. I noticed some non-speciality chains starting to do this recently, first Pret / Starbucks in Heathrow which made sense because of footfall. Then Black Sheep in King's Cross (London). Today I went to a speciality coffee shop (SONTAG in London), and was really surprised / disappointed to see they just had a super automatic machine too. Is this a new norm / trend starting to emerge? Would this put you off too? Should they even be considered speciality in this scenario?

Like many other others I always need coffee daily. I thought it was beneficial if I got a small from Dunkin half decaf daily. After my most recent bloodwork, my testosterone is now the highest it’s ever been (87) & the last couple of months every day I would get this order from Dunkin only to find out that a small is still about 26 g of sugar💀 I have switched to Starbucks because dd’s coffee gives me palpitations and the drink that I drink is only about 10 g of sugar but very discouraging at first and eye-opening for sure! Despite this I do take a bunch of supplements and I get about 10 K steps daily minimum

I am getting my hubs a Breville Bambino Espresso Machine for his birthday. I’m also getting him his favorite syrup (Torani classic caramel) with a pump, a set of 5 oz glasses with measurements and pouring spouts, and an art piece with 25 different espresso drinks with descriptions and measurements.
