More of a curiosity thing as I dont know what to do honestly. So this year our night team, which im part of is working Christmas eve night and off Christmas day/boxing day. We got our USDAW Christmas arrangements through to our emails recently and it says youre allowed Xmas eve, day and boxing day off regardless of length of service/contract (as I believe older contracts allow any bank holidays off) So anyway ive requested holiday for those 3 days over Christmas next year and it got rejected, my night union rep says you can raise a grievance and they will give you that holiday but then you'll be painting a target on your back for doing so.
