After a long strung out divorce, I took on a lot of debt I finally paid it off and was able to get my credit score back up in the 800's in 2024. I had only two credit cards before that (maxed out from the divorce). I now have no debt at all. I applied and got approved for many cards in 2025, mostly due to this subreddit. It can be addicting. Hi All, I bought gift cards in store at Sam’s Club for a national restaurant chain a couple weeks ago. Just saw in the news today that the chain (Smokey Bones) shuttered all their restaurants nationwide out of the blue today with no notice. I know there usually aren’t refunds on gift card purchases, but given this was such a recent purchase that I now can’t use, I’m wondering if Sam’s Club will make an exception. If not, I was considering filing a chargeback with the credit card company since it’s within my rights under the law to do so.
