Nuri Mackerel Fillets in Olive Oil

3h ago

I only rarely reach for skinless/boneless at the stores, but a small local shop added this Nuri mackerel to its shelves, and I felt compelled to reward that behavior. Not sure I had ever even cracked the lid on this particular product before. Pretty glad I did—this is top-quality work from the good people at Pinhais. Very tender, very mild. Probably the last ten cans of plain, skinless-n-boneless mackerel I’ve had over the years have been either King Oscar or UK grocery store brands canned at the same big plant in Scotland. This Nuri fish was definitely a large step up from the kind of hockey puck texture and bland flavor of those other mackerels I’ve kept on hand. Plus the ol...

The Phantom Cabinet: Chapter 3

3h ago

**Chapter 3** Beer in hand, Emmett Wilson reclined across his faux leather couch. He’d been working construction *all day*, and his body ached from hours of installing prefabricated wall paneling. Do It Right Builders, his employer, was building a new Fallbrook housing development, a plague of tract homes, carving out miles of vegetation in their quest to pave over the planet. Still, the job covered his rent, so he couldn’t complain too much.      His forty-two-inch television was on, broadcasting a *Futurama* rerun Emmett found hard to follow, his mind drifting along its own currents. Mainly, he contemplated women he’d dated over the years, wondering if any of them had been ...

After 6K credits building my SaaS, here’s what I learned.

3h ago

Hey everyone, Founder and CEO of Leylo.io here. We’re an AI Design Intelligence platform for vibecoders. We bring taste to your UI before you build. After building for roughly 4 months and a further 8 months of concept planning, workflow sketching and ICP and USP defining. We’re finally launching on the 17th of April. I want this post to serve as a valuable piece on my experience with Lovable, do’s and don’t’s and the lessons I learned. First off - A lot of you building on lovable aren’t pushing it to its full potential. Leylo is a very complex SaaS in the sense that there’s a ton that happens in the background that we had to string together to have it behave the way we...

I **** that people still see me as a child

3h ago

I’m autistic and have literally zero social skills due to my parents isolating and sheltering me early on in life. Despite years of therapy I was never able to develop proper social skills. Whenever I do try to talk to people it comes out weird and awkward. Almost every social interaction I’ve had during exposure therapy ended badly so now I rarely talk unless spoken to. Ive never had friends, dated or had any guys show interest in me. I can’t drive a car. I cant even keep a job because of my issues. I’m also hideously ugly which doesn’t help. My extended family sees me as a child even though I’m in my mid 40’s. When I go to family get togethers everyone younger than me has t...

While Hermes gets more expensive other brands get cheaper... Why?

The luxury sector has just experienced the toughest year of the decade. According to a Bain study, the luxury market declined by about 3% at the beginning of 2025, shedding around 50 million customers in the process. The Berenberg Bank referred to it as the end of the luxury supercycle. In a 2026 report titled "State of Fashion," McKinsey revealed that 46% of luxury leaders predicted an even tougher year ahead. LVMH, the largest luxury group in the world, reported full year 2025 revenue of €80.8 billion, down 5% on a reported basis and 1% on an organic basis. Their Fashion and Leather Goods division, which includes Louis Vuitton and Dior, fell 8% with profits down 13%. Net prof...

Furniture stores which will haul away old furniture as part of new purchase?

3h ago

We are in the market for a new sectional couch set but am wondering if there are any stores which will haul way the old set at the same time? Our current set has been effectively destroyed by our dog over time. I know the City has bulk pickup but these seem perhaps too big to qualify. Thank you in advance

Am I hurting my chances by being too much of a generalist in freelancing?

I feel like I’m running out of options and I don’t know what’s not working anymore. I moved to South America from Asia. Life in Asia wasn’t very stable or secure, even though I speak and write English well. I know I’m talented… people have told me that many times. Later on, I realized I might be what they call a multipotentialite (someone w/ many skills and interests, not just one clear specialization). I’ve done a loooot of different things.. from hosting live events to, to teaching, to building digital products and managing online tasks. Before moving here, I had a small physical store in Asia. I handled all the backend work for 3+ years. When I moved, I had to leave all th...

Does the Boston Public Library get updated with the latest fantasy books?

3h ago

So for now Pandemonium in Central Square is the only store I know that sells the latest nerd novels out on the market right now. I used to buy a lot of books, but now I go to the library in order to cut back on money and a way to stop me from collecting them. But when I go on the Boston Library search engine it seems to not have new physical books in stalk, let alone their authors. Although romantasy seems to be. I don't read that. When do libraries get updated? Do I request books like pull list from comicbook stores?

If i dont get into this job ive also applied to work at subway and tesco I wanna do it because it would look good in the training course, id be making my own money, and it's something to fill my days and keep me busy My mum wants 50-100€ housekeeping which is reasonable in my eyes, ill ...

Stop Frankensteining Your Business: Why Trainers Need an All-In-One Platform

3h ago

You're a personal trainer. You're supposed to be transforming lives, building strength, and sculpting bodies. Instead, you're spending half your day wrestling with spreadsheets, hunting down client messages across three different apps, and praying your clients actually pay you on time. Sound familiar? You're not alone. I see it all the time. Trainers, especially when they're starting out, try to piece together a "system" using free or cheap apps. A spreadsheet for client info, WhatsApp for messaging, MyFitnessPal for diet tracking, a calendar app for scheduling... it's a digital Frankenstein monster. And it's ******* the life out of your busine...

This Fern must have a Name?

3h ago

Got this at a grocery store in Southern California, it just looked so pretty and frilly. The id tag just says “Fern”, I scanned the QR code, no information on the plant, just the company LiveTrends. I’m not a big plant person but I felt it calling to me. I’d like to learn about future propagation of this plant. Thanks for all advice!

Proxies and Dropshipping

I plan to run some Shopify stores for US market, run Facebook ads as well. Anyone can recommend best setup for scale? Proxies are not that cheap, can I run with VPN instead? How you guys run it? I reside in Europe.

I built a dev tool app — now the hard part 😅

3h ago

Turned my Android phone into a BLE beacon broadcaster for IoT testing. No extra hardware, just the app. Supports iBeacon, Eddystone, custom GATT, geofence triggers, battery conditions — the whole thing. 🔵📡 Tech works. App is live. Marketing a niche developer tool though? That's a different beast entirely. A few things I've run into: 🎯 **Tiny, scattered audience** — BLE devs don't hang out in one place 💸 **Free + ads model needs volume** — hard in a niche category 📢 **Can't lifestyle-market a Bluetooth tool** — the pitch is purely functional For those who've built tools for technical audiences — how did you find your first 1000 users? ...

How I ported a hardcore scalping terminal to the web (and made it digest raw Binance data without lag)

3h ago

Many companies developing trading terminals are afraid to go to the web, convinced that the browser won't handle such a colossal load. Even top-tier desktop solutions often freeze and lag during high market volatility. As an architect of complex systems, I was interested in challenging the established rules and doing the unthinkable: porting the heaviest functionality of a desktop terminal to a web environment. **The Scale of the Problem** Scalping (ultra-fast intraday trading) relies on three main data sources: ticks, clusters, and the DOM (Depth of Market) order book. A trader can have up to 10 instruments open on a single screen, each containing 3 actively updating blocks - totaling...

Retail Outlook 2026 Data, Loyalty, and ESG Trends

3h ago

As the retail landscape continues to evolve, the focus in 2026 will be on leveraging data, building customer loyalty, and embracing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) trends. These three pillars are set to drive innovation and long-term success for retailers who can adapt to the changing demands of consumers and the environment. Let’s explore how these trends will shape the future of retail in 2026. # 1. Data-Driven Decision Making In 2026, data will remain at the heart of retail strategies. With the explosion of digital touchpoints, retailers now have more data than ever before. The key to success will be how well they can use this data to make informed decisions. From customer...

New Grad Looking For First Rewards Card

3h ago

Hello, looking for some advice as I’m in the market for my first rewards card. Some background information, I’m a new grad moving out next month and anticipating increased spend, looking to maximize points rather than putting everything on my debit card as I have done in the past. At the and of last month I finally resolved my Identity theft and saw my FICO jump around 100 points from the low 600s. Shortly before this was resolved I (stupidly) applied for the Chase Freedom Unlimited and was denied. I’m still very interested in going the Chase Trifecta route but weary of reapplying so soon given the recent rejection (about a month separated now). Interested in picking up a car...

Multiple listeria recalls hit salads, cheeses, meal kits sold in Manitoba

3h ago

A series of food recall warnings involving salads, cheese products and meal kit ingredients has been issued across Canada due to possible listeria contamination. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency reports three separate recalls affecting products sold in Manitoba and across the country, all classified as Class 1, which is the highest risk level. \*\*\*Salad recall affects Western Canada\*\*\* One recall involves CO-OP brand Creamy Garlic and Spinach Salad, sold clerk-served at Co-op locations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories. The affected product includes items with best-before dates ranging from March 24 to April 4, 2026. The CFIA says...

Regarding the amount of milk powder in Zojirushi's recipe for Virtuoso Plus

3h ago

I picked up Zojirushi's virtuoso plus a couple of months ago and so far it has been good. I've not made very many different recipes in it, but I've made the basic white bread recipe about 10 times. Great stuff. As far as the recipes are concerned, I've noticed the basic white bread measurements are a little weird. For example it lists 2 tablespoons of dry milk, at 8g of weight. I'm using bob's nonfat milk powder and ONE tablespoon of that weighs 9g. Any thoughts here? Is it the milk powder? Bob's is the only brand of milk powder that is sold in my grocery store. I could buy some other stuff on amazon but as common as Bob's...
