When he moved in, he asked for a grocery/cooking arrangement because he doesnt cook at all. Ive never split groceries with roommates but I do love to cook, and always made too much for just myself anyway so I thought sure why not? So we have an arrangement in our house where I do all the cooking, and Sam & our other roommate swap off cleaning the kitchen. It's had ups and downs but overall I like how we handle everything, and splitting groceries 3 ways and getting to pick what we eat is pretty nice. But the past few months I've noticed Sam has just been wasting the food I make completely. I do big batches of stuff so we each have a day o... Can Plurbs eat eggs?1h ago>!No, not **those** eggs. You monster.!< I'm discussing a mechanic of the show, so apologies if this is considered a spoiler. I finished the show a few days ago and couldn't stop thinking about the way The Hive can't harm anything living to get food - but foodstuffs that fall to the ground on their own are okay. Apples dropping from trees, etc. My understanding is that unfertilised poultry eggs are not "alive" - so could they get their sustenance from eggs? Breeding chickens/ducks etc would not be harmful to them if done in an old-school way, and I believe eggs would fall under that same 'windfall' category. Once the birds die of natural ca... Kya ajeeb jagha hai ye1h agoEk to yaha kahi subeh ko dhang ka idli nahi milta tower chowk ke alawa, wo bhi overpriced. Upma to rehne do. Dosa bhi kuch khaas nahi hai. Kahi bhi jao wahi tel masala wala item sab hi available hai (poori, kachori, samosa, paratha, etc.) Ab aate hain price pe. Ek din socha zomato se chicken curry mangwa lete hain, half plate ka ₹300+ (2pcs) aur full ₹450+. Idli bhi ₹100+ (2pcs). Ek jagha to laccha paratha ₹190 ka de raha hai. North, South, East, West, har jagha ghuma hai, kahi aisa weird food culture nahi dekha. Yaha samosa, kachori, chat, etc. relatively sasta aur tasty mil jaata hai, par South Indian, Indian and Chinese cuisine yaha overpriced bhi hai aur substandard bhi. P.S... When did backyard farming shift from fringe lifestyle choice to mainstream aspiration1h agoYears ago, keeping chickens was something only serious homesteaders or rural folks did. Now half my suburban neighbors are researching cheap chicken coops and planning to raise their own eggs. When did backyard poultry become a middle class hobby instead of practical necessity or unusual lifestyle choice? The shift happened fast. Suddenly everyone wants fresh eggs, connection to food sources, sustainable practices, teaching kids about responsibility and where food comes from. The motivations make sense but the speed of adoption suggests something beyond just practical considerations driving this trend. What makes backyard farming suddenly appealing to people who have never considered it befo... Internet Lore: MIL RUINING VACAY [Part 1]1h agoThis is a little different, since this is not from reddit. Reddit, however, referenced it often in the past, and users asked for longer posts. So, here is a two parter. It also might be fake (like so much), but it is part of internet lore, so if you are into this kinda thing, this is for you. All the links are leaving reddit. I'm also not the original poster. Bad Dog1h agoSometimes myths are real, gruesomely so. This man is Stevo Madima. He became a werewolf. A few misconceptions need to be understood before this tale is told. Werewolves are very much like us. They do not forget, nor regret the actions they take. Stevo lived in a township next to a bog or swamp if you will. It is famous for all the wrong reasons. Decapitated heads were often found here. No reason or rhyme could uncover the reason nor the bodies of their victims. The brutality of these murders had no clues left behind, and baffled many a detective, no fingerprints, no bodies, just the rotting heads foul bobbing in the stagnant water. No one would consider a supernatura... Cooking hacks that you wouldn't dare tell your grandmother (or anyone!) but that work1h agoLately I've been really wanting to eat a simple mild curry with chicken and potatoes type of thing, but the thought of all the prep work--- yeah! So yesterday I went to buy food and I got pre-cut chicken, a variety of plant proteins, pre-cut veg, pre-cut onions and pre-grated carrots (I couldn't find chopped lol), a packet of mild curry paste and a can of coconut. But then there was the question of potatoes. Ladies, I (sure hope no one is judging me here) then dropped a bag of thick cut french fries in my basket! Today I cooked then all together (I did fry off the onions and carrots first til golden) and I have to tell you, apart from the fact the potatoes were crinkle cut 😂... I’m about 4 months post-viral and have pretty classic ME/CFS stuff going on: severe fatigue, PEM, etc. Bloodwork has ruled out other causes so far. On top of that, I’ve started noticing I often feel worse after eating, especially leftovers. I had no known dietary allergies before all of this. A few things I’ve noticed: * I get bouts of really bad sinus headaches and congestion, sometimes some nausea and GI issues, and they did not seem linked to any increase in activity. * I’d read that MCAS can show up alongside ME/CFS, but I kind of dismissed it for myself at first because I don... Week 3: Contrast - Creamy Chicken and Bacon Pasta2h agoI feel like this week's attempt for me was a bit of a fail. My initial idea was to contrast light with dark, using a squid ink pasta and a white cream sauce. Unfortunately, my local shops did not have any squid ink pasta so I decided to switch up and make the sauce the dark element of the dish by using black food colouring. I think this means that the end result didn't quite match up with what I had envisioned. I based my sauce from the RecipeTin Eats 'Creamy Chicken and Bacon Pasta' recipe (heavily adjusted for dietary requirements and to use up items from the fridge). The taste of the dish was nice, and it was fun and trippy eating something that was familia... My cat doesnt want to eat. What to do?2h agoHey guys! For the rules: Im 27. Country is Hungary. I have contacted 3 vets already. Main issue is that my cat doesnt want to eat. He is a 2 yrs old male, he is neutered. And yes i can afford a vet. So we took in a stray male around 2 yrs old this August. He was only bones, so thin. We started raw feeding (barf) just like we do with our 2yrs old female cat and 2 dogs. He finally reached his ideal weight in mid November. He was getting along with the female cat and the dogs as well. The cats are indoors, while they have a 36m2 catio in the garden. So they have a great life. So like 4 weeks ago the male cat got an eye infection that we got rid of in a few days. Nothing special, everyt... i genuinely **** everything about myself and wish i could just stop eating3h agoTWTWTW DONT READ IF EATING DISORDERS TRIGGER YOU I MISS BEING SICK SOOO BAD UGHHHH when i was like 13 i was super ******* fat and only ate 700cals a day and ik it was bad but it was literally my peak bruh. i feel like im slowly slipping back there and its not even like ive gained any weight back since then like i’ve actually lost more and im so close to a healthy bmi but weight is so hard to lose cuz im really ******* short and also *****. After that, due to my studies, I started going to the gym only 2-4 times per week, and sometimes I even skip an entire week. I don't want my studies to be affected. I weighed 92 kg back then, and now I'm down to 79 kg. I aim for around 1.6x my body weight in protein per day while maintaining a 200-300 calorie deficit. On the days I track my diet, I eat approximately 2600 calories. I don't track my calories every day due to a few reasons, but I make sure to hit at least 1x my body weight in protein daily. My main sources of protein are chicken ****** and eggs. On days when I can... Is anyone else experiencing a glitch where toast rings up tickets on its own?3h agoWe started experiencing this glitch at my restaurant a few weeks ago. The POS will pick one server a day to "mess with." No one will be touching any of the terminals, but the computer will suddenly decide to ring in 20 pisco sours to a table, add nonsensical modifiers to food (such as adding a "vegan" modifier to a pork chop), or using the quantity option to ring in 12 different 1/12 of a chicken sandwiches for $1.50 apiece. (I don't even know how we would serve 1/12 of a chicken sandwich.) This past week, the glitch learned how to do cash transactions. So random tables wind up being closed in the middle of their meal, and we need to find a manager to void the &qu... Confused between Cosori, Nuuk, Philips air fryers?3h agoI have a budget of 8k but want to spend it based on the features. I was fixed on Cosori but got to know that it has teflon coating instead of ceramic coating (US version of ceramic coating as per their CS team but amazon india still shows ceramic). Now I'm having 2nd thoughts on this after getting know the information and check other products. I want to know how Nuuk's airfryer is and how does cheaper philips airfryers are? uses: cooking chicken, veggies, some snacks & reheating foods **Edit:** Just heard about Inalsa ceramic coated airfryer, would love to hear about it, if any of you are using it. What are some of the most significant ways Sydney has changed in the last 10 years?3h agoBeen a bit inspired by another post on Reddit which was pointing out how 2016 was a whole decade ago now, which to me is crazy how is that so long ago now. So in the context of Sydney it got me thinking a bit. I’ve noticed for example as a couple of random ones; 1. As a foodie, I’ve noticed the sharp decline of Cantonese style Chinese food restaurants. Think Lemon Chicken, honey prawns, yes that style of Chinese. I’ve seen a lot of places slowly shut over the last decade and be replaced with more Sichuan-style cuisine, including Hot pot and Malatang. 2. Sheer modernisation of our public transport system. A decade ago, let’s see, we didn’t have the CBD light rail, Sydney Me... Cookout: a review3h agoI live right around the corner. I have been waiting for lines to die down- unfortunately they didn't, so I finally waited in the line. For those not wanting to read the full review- just go to BK on North Monroe. I got the plate with a regular burger out west style, Nuggets, and a corn dog. I got a side of hush puppies and a spicy chicken wrap. My burger had zero bbq sauce but was doused in ketchup and mayo ( neither of which were supposed to be on it per their own menu). The patty had the same charbroiled flavor that Burger King burgers have, however the texture was CRUMBLY. The burger patty was crumbly. Gross. The corn dog is a State Fair brand honey battered frank corn dog. Y... 🛡︠Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
