Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the PetSmart Latest Community Discussions About PetSmartPrice match3h agoFyi Most commercial pet stores will do a price match comparing competitors prices. During check out if you show your phone with a cheaper price from the competitors website they will usually match it no questions asked. Places like petco, pet supplies plus, petsmart. Sometimes you can compare using amazon and chewy but it depends on the store policy New here!3h agoHeyo I started a planted aquarium a couple of months ago, added all the plants and substrate and such, let it cycle for my Christmas break, I came back and cleaned the algae off of the glass, left it on the plants/substate cuz I didn’t want to destroy all the healthy bacteria, a few days once the nitrate/nitrite was good I added 9 ember tetra, 1 nerite snail. A few days later the snail was dead (petsmart so I wasn’t extremely worried about the whole tank) I did a 10% water change after that. Last night (I did test the water before and it was good) I added 4 amano shrimp and 1 rabbit snail from smaller local fish store so I was much more confident about the health of them. I named the sna... I just quit petsmart. This is the bs they pulled16h agoSo i started working at petsmart about 6 months ago. I was a pet associate. Was getting about 12 hours a week. Which i wasnt really complaining about. I was given praises over praises how i was doing everything so well. One time i forgot to put on a gown during a bird deep clean (the person that trained me trained me without a gown) and that was my first mistake. I got a write up and they said “its for your safety and ours. Birds carry asymptomatic diseases etc”. Which i was upset about but i was like okay not the end of the world. A couple weeks later it was time for the exact same bird deep clean i go to the back and we are completely out of gowns. So i naturally went to tell my manage... Invertebrate deep cleans17h agoMy availability is changing next week and I am being switched from doing small animal to reptile deep cleans which I have not done many times before, I was not super worried about it other than catching anoles, but I then learned my SL expects me to do invertebrate deep cleans every week with the reptiles? This is the second Petsmart I’ve worked at and my old store did not do invertebrate deep cleans unless they got really nasty, and I just know it really isn’t good for such fragile animals to have to be taken out of their enclosure so often. Do other stores do them every week, and if so does anyone have tips on how to do them? I’m kinda terrified lol it’s so hard to be in a relationship with agoraphobia21h agolike i love him and ik he loves me but i feel like i hold him back, i can go to certain places that are “green zones” like small stores and most resturaunts,, kroger’s, heb, petsmart, his house, my brothers house etc . then their is “red zones” walmart, target, huge stores,THE MALL, recently became my job, school, and yeah. I had bee doing good but last month my agoraphobia and panic disorder spiked again. Yesterday i went to the psychiatrist and i am now trying zoloft, My bf is very supportive of me and doesn’t see me different since i take medication, though i see myself differently lol. He offered to pay for my therapy which is sweet because it shows he cares, and understands the... Guppies keep dying1d agoI got 3 guppies from Petsmart. I had the tank for 1.5 weeks prior, lots of live plants like hornworts, java ferns and a few others from an experienced aquarium store. I have a 5 gallon tank, gravel, 2 decorations that provide hiding spots and shade, open swimming area, in total 11 live plants spaced appropriately so it’s not overcrowded, I use tap water with appropriate amount of water conditioner, also used live bacteria first 5 days of tank cycle. I got the Nerite snail after 1 week of cycle, snail is doing great. Constantly moving/climbing and resting. I added 3 guppies. First 5 days were great. They were curious, grazed on the gravel, played, and seemed very happy. Suddenly, the larges... Petco offers our employee discount for $5 a month per animal type1d agoFor the people who are only staying at this miserable company because of the employee discount; Petco offers a subscription service, $5 a month per animal, for example I use cats and reptiles. I paid $10 a month and I now get 15% off of all cat and reptile related orders. I actually only found this out because when I quit my job at Petsmart, MOST (not all) of the management quite literally shunned me as of if I betrayed the family or something. I can go on about the laundry list of awful management decisions my store personally made, but I think if you’ve worked at Petsmart ever you completely understand where I’m coming from. Good luck out there guys! Pyre, my first hognose, and a few questions/concerns.1d agohttps://preview.redd.it/oclltjm8g2cg1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6f268f6e07883919254a77ac980a1909cf550d8 https://preview.redd.it/mvyjv1h9g2cg1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=923e12256072b67d748ef717b55b3926594c54b3 (ignore my.. giant hands holding the baby.. lmao..) As i finally have my first hognose, i have a few questions. Please be gentle i am super over worried that I'm going to make a mistake with her or have already. [quick drink before more exploring](https://reddit.com/link/1q7440y/video/9o65carig2cg1/player) Substrate, i see so many options and opinions. I live in Florida and was worried the natural humid... Feeling discouraged with my skittish budgie of one year. Will it ever get better?1d agoHi everyone, I wanted to share my journey with Yuki and ask for some advice. I’ve had Yuki for a year now (purchased from Petsmart when he was 8 months old, now he is almost one and half ywara of age). Since he is albino Im not very sure about his sex, since his cere hasn't turned brown yet im assuming Yuki is a male. He has always been extremely skittish—I even remember seeing him at the store, looking petrified while other birds preened him. At the same time he is a chatterbox! He loves to whistle, talk, and do lots of head-bobbing. He even has favorite toys that he gets very possessive. He’s also a tech fan; he’ll jump right onto my finger if he knows I’ll let him watch vid... Obligatory "I finally quit PetSmart" post1d agoI emailed my letter of resignation to my manager and quit after 4 years with no notice. If I was told during my interview that I would only get 4-8 hours a week on average, I'd had never taken the job. I can deal with PetSmart's **** management, impossible standards/expectations, etc. But despite me being cross trained in every department (including the salon), they keep cutting hours. Not a single person at my store is working over 20 hours/week besides 3 people. And those are management (idk the acronyms, and idfc). My last straw was when I was given 12 hours for the ENTIRE month of December. How can they expect anyone to stick around when they can't even pay for gas to... Petsmart the real truth!1d agoGreat place to learn — not a place to build I worked at PetSmart for many years as a dog trainer and in a leadership training role. At the store level, many employees genuinely care about pets and customers. Unfortunately, the corporate and management culture undermines that. (There are amazing managers in abundance at store level who do care) In reality, the company prioritizes metrics, payroll budgets, and liability over people, experience, or even consistent ethics. Long-term employees eventually become liabilities because they cost more, know more, and are harder to intimidate or control. Over time, I saw a clear pattern of: Favoritism Selective enforcement of policies Micromanagem... HELP - My betta fish has been in this state (bent, “dropsy)1d agoI’m very concerned. I’m taking him up to my local pet store (Petsmart) to see why the case may be and if he may need some medicine, which in this case it could be. I don’t know if I should do anything with the water, but I just changed it, filtered and everything….i just need and answer, I just moved in November too and ever since, he’s just been hiding in his home (which he never did) and then about a few days ago, this has happened….I’ve had him for about 5-7 months, since he was a junior. I’m a bit sad so any pointers before I take him in would really help! Advice on choice!1d ago(Friends dragon for tax) I am planning on adopting a new friend, but I have been having trouble deciding. I am stuck on what reptile I want to get, I am torn between a bearded dragon and a leopard gecko. I love both of them and would love to own both but unfortunately I can only care for one reptile right now. I have a 40/50 gal enclosure, 36inx18inx18in, I know a beardie will eventually need a 120 gal or 4x2x2, and I'm willing to get a bigger enclosure when I have the space available. But my friend who has a beardie said she kept hers in a 50gal for a good few years before she was able to upgrade to a large 120gal, and beardie did just fine. I have plenty of access to adopting a bea... Rescue Betta Fish?2d agoBefore anyone comments, this is NOT an impulsive decision. It's been carefully planned and considered for a few months now. Working on fishless cycling my 10 gallon aquarium with a heater and live plants. YES there will be more live plants for coverage, once i get them in the mail, they will be quarantined then placed in the aquarium. OKAY. the real question. What has people experiences been when getting a rescue betta from Petco/Petsmart? I'm in the Northeast of the US if that's helpful. How successful have you been in terms of getting the rescue for free? Who/what do you ask? Do you think you have more success at Petco or Petsmart? If necessary, I will pay for it but I... Would love advice on how things are looking with our new Betta (Oliver)2d agoHi All, New Betta keeper and would love to get insight from the more experienced among you on how we're doing. Particularly on the following points: * Does the tank look ok? Too full of stuff? * I've tested the water about 24 hours apart and its reading, to my eyes, 0ppm ammonia, 0ppm Nitrite, and 40-80ppm of Nitrate. I'll get into details about our setup and process so far below, but sounds like this just means we need to do frequent water changes until things normalize? * How's little Oliver looking? I'm not experienced enough to tell, but I keep wondering if I'm seeing some fin rot. We got Oliver from PetsMart 10 days ago. We had planned to get everything ... (I can't take care of my gerbal anymore)2d agoI am a female (17) a few months ago I got a pet gerbal I was very excited and thought I could take care of him. Im a very responsible person when it comes to things of that nature (I had a hamster at age 11, I know those two rodents are VERY different tho) . Now on to my problem when I got the gerbal I was told by the person at PetSmart that this gerbal was very aggressive and had something wrong with it , she struggled to even get him out of the cage . I felt really bad knowing he would probably not have a home because he actually hurt the other gerbal that was in there with him so I got him anyways. The first two months it slowly went down hill. I got him a big cage, a wheel, toys,chews,ec... Petsmarts new Jumping Spiders are wild caught.2d agoJust a friendly word of caution in case anyone decides to support these ****** stores. I just got confirmation from a Petsmart rep their newly added jumping spiders are indeed wild caught after inquiring when I saw them in the store(getting feeders as unfortunately there are no local stores near me) They all were sexed(and named lol) so I honestly assumed they would be CB at the least? Especially with them being so popular/available now a days. While im not necessarily surprised, I am a little taken aback they'd be so brazen about it but also a big chain store selling WC animals is *wild* to me. Maybe im just out of the loop as a lot of my companions are rescues or from small breeder... why do people bring non service dogs into every place they go2d agoi work at a grocery store and the only animal allowed are service animals, but recently i’ve been seeing people bring their regular dogs into stores, i used to work at petsmart and have seen people bring in their dogs that were in training and they have a thing on their vest that says “service animal in training, do not pet” but regular animals shouldn’t be allowed everywhere imo especially since they rarely ever clean up their dogs business when they go in stores (speaking from when i worked at petsmart, there’s stations every other aisle with poop bags, paper towels and cleaning spray and 99.9% of the time people leave it) Canadian-based volunteer cat rescue seeking volunteer legal and accounting help3d agoHi everyone, I’m part of a small, volunteer-run animal rescue based in Ontario, Canada, and I’m hoping the community here might be able to point us in the right direction. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats that are sick, injured, stray, or unwanted. Right now, we operate through partnerships with participating PetSmart and Pet Valu stores that provide space to house adoptable cats. All of us are volunteers, and our limited funding comes from small donations through a parent charity and PetSmart Charities. Nearly every dollar goes directly toward food, supplies, and essential veterinary care to keep the cats healthy and comfortable. We’ve reached a point where we need legal he... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
