Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the PetSmart Latest Community Discussions About PetSmartGeneral hamster education is wildly inadequate8h agoI’ve been following this subreddit for only a couple weeks, and I am absolutely APPALLED at how little the general population is educated about the care of hamsters, such as enclosure size, etc. I grew up having a couple hamsters. My baby brothers (I’m 11-14 years older than them) all had hamsters, and my family LOVES animals and do engage in research to try and be the best sort of pet parents. We’ve had rodents, reptiles, cats, dog, amphibians. You name it. After reading many posts on this sub, I am disgusted with how little we knew and how little, if at all, pet stores and breeders would know/try to educate prospective owners on how big enclosures need to be, appropriate wheel size... They’ll give you a booklet of coupons ranging from their vets, litter, toys, food, and just general cat needs. These are in store coupons. I adopted a dog and was given the cat by mistake but am going to see if there is a dog version. Thought this might be helpful for anyone trying to save since new adoptions can be expensive when buying supplies. :) Edit: they do have a special booklet for dogs. Petco also has this promotion! Petco here 👋 Seeing wtf is up with my new petsmart managers18h agoHey so to hopefully cut this down as quickly as possible, I very suddenly find myself surrounded by managers who's only work experience is PetSmart and Im trying to help them transfer between the 2 companies. Well, I was, but they really just keep pissing me off instead of absorbing anything. Can yall deny animal sales? "Well at Petsmart you can't tell people no!" Is always a response i get when trying to tell my manager (gm) that she doesnt/shouldn't have to sell goldfish to literal bowls. I've slightly gotten her over that (well, she doesnt say anything to anyone else for denying sales but she still does the sales alllll day long), but there's that beard... Any reputable sellers of cherry shrimp here?18h agoI live in a rural area and the nearest aquarium store is 2+ hours away. There is a Petsmart about an hour away and a PetCo that’s 45 minutes, but when I call they say that they are out of season. Are there any sellers on this sub that would be willing to sell and ship them to central Illinois? Bobbing and hopping around to talk to birds?19h agoNewbie question) If I approach a new bird is it cool to talk to them first, and then once you've done that start gently bobbing your head and doing little head hops with them? Am I communicating that I'm friendly and fun to them? For example, I was at Petsmart a bit ago for fish supplies (I don't have a local shop to go to, and I am absolutely opposed to the breeding of birds in these stores, but I still always try to go and interact with the poor birds.) They had one GCC and I tried this behavior with them. They definitely noticed and got a bit excited, even did some head hops back. But I don't think it was real successful because the bird was obviously stressed in t... Should I get harlequin rasboras?1d agoI’ve had this 29gal tank for about 2ish months now, and everything has been going pretty good. I have 1 betta and multiple ramshorn snails in the tank. The only issue I have right now is I feel like I don’t have a sufficient bioload for the amount of plants I have and the size of the tank, so I want to get some harlequin rasboras because I heard they work well with bettas. Any other suggestions or reasons I shouldn’t? Also where should I buy them? Should I see if my local aquarium store has them or does a pet store like Petsmart or petco work? Should I get them online? Ive wanted to work with animals ever since I was a kid, and it’s been the only thing I’ve been consistently passionate about. I want to try to make this world at least a little bit better, or at least help them survive in it if I can’t do that. Wildlife rehabilitation has always seemed like a dream job, but the pay is so low. Financial stability is important to me, and I’d at least like to earn enough to take care of myself and maybe a child one day. So maybe around 60k+ is my idea of moderate-high? Being a vet requires far too much debt, and I’m unsure if it’s worth it. I saw that Petsmart store managers can make 75k-100k. No degree. So the investment seems p... Itchy eyes when cleaning cricket bins1d agoHey guys! I’m not super familiar with reddit so you’ll have to forgive me if I format this post incorrectly. I’ve got a weird question about a situation that frankly only those who work at a pet store would experience. For reference, I work as a pet care associate at my local PetSmart and have for two years and have had no issues while cleaning the cricket bins. However, this past week every time I’ve cleaned the bins my eyes got pretty dry and itchy, and also a runny nose but that could be because of something else? Not entirely sure yet. My first suspicion was a mild allergic reaction, but that would be quite strange after having no reaction for 2 years prior. Does anyone else ha... new family member :)1d agoThis samurai boy came into our store (petsmart with really bad diamond eye over both eyes. I believe he still is able to sense changes in light, and he has been able to find food good so far. Just wanted to show everybody my new buddy!!! Naming him Kenshi (if you know, you know! i immediately knew what i had to name him :) cat food for allergy cat1d agohi everyone! we have a (nearly) 6 year old female cat who is allergic to poultry, so our food selection is limited because SO many food brands have hidden chicken/poultry ingredients. we currently have her on tiki cat wet food and royal canin hydrolyzed protein kibble. i think she's getting bored of the tiki cat wet food, so we've tried "almo nature" but she hasn't been a huge fan of it either. she loves her kibble but the wet food is important as well. for people that have a poultry allergy cat, what wet food do you feed them? any suggestions? i'm in Canada so i might not have every option as the US. the stores i have access to are petsmart, pet planet, pet ... Closing Time is Closing Time (Plus a Bonus)1d agoFirst man went to the deli counter as it was closing and was shocked to be turned away. Would not shock me if he had an unreasonable request like fresh fried chicken. The next one, how much you want to bet that her coupon was expired? Third, this man is shocked that some times a store will close a few minutes early sometimes. He most certainly could have (NOT) gotten his business done in a few minutes. Fourth, another man shocked that stores close early if things get too slow. Man would later resolve to go to Petsmart after taking his dog to Walmart. (Not the same guy as the Walmart post) For the bonus, I had to check out this guy's other reviews... Same man has reviewed weed di... I felt compelled to share this review I just stumbled upon for a Petsmart in *downers grove* with you all2d agoThis is the Petsmart close to Yorktown Center… now I’ve only lived in Illinois for a few years so I may be way off base here, but I didn’t think “poor” would be a word used to describe this area 😭 genuinely lol’ed at this so I needed to share. People mixing breeds, for certain features of both. Trapper, was my first experience with American Foxhounds and Catahoulas. He was my 50/50 boy. A shelter dog, who had been stuck there for 7 months. Had him 5 years until a Tundra took him out. I remember it fondly. I was bored, just moved to Mississippi after dad passed. The only friend I had down here at the time, lived 45 minutes away, and I'm autistic, so not a social butterfly. 8 months in, on an impulse, I decided to stop by the shelter I've had driven past a couple hundred times. It was a pretty meh selection, though, the coun... AlmazanKitchen Memebrs Only Now????2d agoWhat on earth happend with AlmazanKitchen? I’m in no hurry because I want to be absolutely certain that I’m prepared when what I’m trying to keep is a critically endangered species, and I want to make sure that I have the resources to raise and rehome potential offspring in the event that my bettas breed. I have all kinds of questions that I will probably be posting over time, but right now I wanted to focus on one specific thing- general betta experience. I have experience with other wild-caught fish from similar habitats, but my experience with actual bettas is pretty much limited to the class... I didn't listen to my breeders advice on food and now I'm regretting it2d agoTldr; I was told my dog shouldn't have food with chicken as it gives him diarrhea. It didn't, so I started giving him chicken and rice formula food, only to later have a 3 month eye issue that me/the vet could not figure out, several tests and $500 later. I got my Labrador retriever puppy, Gus, back in November. The "breeder" (I say this with quotations because she was like 19 years old, I don't think she's a professional breeder or anything I believe her two dogs just had puppies, he's not registered and only cost $500) told me "he has an allergy to chicken so he can't have it - it gives him diarrhea". So I said okay and his first puppy foo... RC on X3d ago You used to sell stuff on eBay. Maybe an old camera. Maybe Beanie Babies. Maybe a coat that didn't fit. You paid a small fee. The buyer got the thing. Everyone went home. That eBay is gone. The website looks the same. The logo is the same. The 135 million buyers are still there. But the company isn't really a marketplace anymore. It is an advertising business with a marketplace attached for distribution. Last year, sellers paid eBay $2 billion just to make sure their own listings showed up. Read that again. The board calls this growth. A Canadian who runs a video game store called it something else.
