I know this is a perennial issue - could someone who works for AA please tell us why we have to sit in the dark during the day flying from Europe to the USA? I had to work and the glare from my laptop and overhead light in the dark was giving me a headache and making me drowsy - to the degree that I got less work done. I arrived feeling so out of it I almost left my passport in the bathroom! I do realize that it’s better for FAs (and passengers) not to have to deal with the harsh glare from the sun. But on the 787 you can take the edge off with the adjustable window shade function without making it pitch black.
