I finally realise why I've been sober nearly all my life

3h ago

Tw: addiction, alcohol/drugs, abuse I never really wanted to be drunk/high and I tried a bit but it never added much to my life. I had safe environments to try these things, I don't think it's wrong to smoke or drink either. I will usually DD too. I know a lot of ADHD and ASD people who don't drink or smoke at all, never have. I figured that was a part of us but actually I think I'm wrong. Plus many of us do smoke and drink. Sometimes we deal with addiction as well. I realised that I'm totally cool being surrounded by people drinking, smoking weed, going wild. In a house, at a club, on the street. Because those contexts I can leave usually, or because they&...

I made a memory game where memory isn't enough

The first few levels feel easy. Then the grid grows. The sequences get longer. And the transformation rule changes every round. Tiletrace is a puzzle game built around one idea: memorising a pattern is only half the work. Before you can replay it, you have to mentally flip, rotate, or reverse it. Hermès + St. Louis

3h ago

I’ve been building this collection intentionally for a while, so when I was invited to the Crystal St. Louis exhibit at my home store, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to add a few pieces. Let’s just say… things escalated quickly. 😂 I took some time off this spring to simply enjoy being Mom and hold my babies a little closer. Now that I’m finally starting to feel like myself again, I’m back to steadily working toward fully moving into our home this winter — hopefully 🤞🏾 This was my first time shopping a Crystal St. Louis trunk show, and wow, pieces sold out fast. I ended up purchasing the mini portable Folia lamp as a nightlight, along with some barware and a vase....

Company large item delivery is garbage.

3h ago

Company large item deliveries have actually gone so down hill Over the years we’ve had deliveries from various home improvement and furniture stores. And I have noticed a steady and sharp decline, which is absurd when the large item delivery fee went from included to at your cost. I got royally screwed over today by Home Depot (their third party delivery service was actually amazing to deal with, but Home Depot itself was to blame here) It makes me remember when companies included delivery service and were timely, free, professional and made it entirely hassle free to get an item delivered. Today’s events made me realize how terrible delivery services have become from brick and mo...

Advice for new physical media collectors

3h ago

I figure there's people coming to this sub looking for it, so here's my two cents, and of course feel free to add your own: \*\*You only really need to pay full price for a DVD or Blu-Ray if it's something new or you can't find it anywhere else. Otherwise, thrift stores and eBay are you friends. Flea markets are nice too, just be sure to check the inside of anything you buy, as on more than one occasion I've been ripped off, the wrong disk in a case, disks missing entirely, lots of problems can come up with buying used, but you can't really beat the price (A place half a mile from my home has them as cheap as 2/$1!). \*\*Get a good shelf. Any decent shelf wil...

Venting - irrationally hostile sellers on ebay

3h ago

Ok, I'm venting. Why are so many eBay sellers needlessly hostile? Edit: I am also a reseller. So I want to buy a rug, they have it at $250 make offer, I message them and offer $200. I have a gift card in my account from capital one shopping and I'd like to apply it with my credit card as a payment, whereas the eBay make offer feature would automatically charge my credit card on file for the full amount if they accept. So I ask the seller if they find my offer acceptable, can they lower the price and I will check out with my preferred payment. Seller accuses me of wanting to "make a side deal" with a gift card and states I need to use the eBay make offer feature ...

Dreaming about alcohol

3h ago

Hey everyone. I’ve posted a time or two in this group and I try to read some posts every day for motivation even when I fail. I’m on my.. I don’t even know what attempt to stop drinking. I’m on day 10 currently of another retry. Life has been kicking my butt lately and honestly I feel like I’m managing that okay, I’m sleeping a lot and eating a lot getting sober this time. However, during my nap after work today I dreamt of alcohol. Specifically, sneaking it. When I woke up, I was craving it so bad I wanted to cry at how frustrated I was with myself at wanting it this bad. A drink I dreamt about, which was never even a favorite of mine, margaritas. Has anyone had this...

HeartShadows

3h ago

Adult lives are filled with work, kids and their lives, adult plans, family, grocery shopping, cooking, worries, gatherings, date nights, bedtimes, appointments, alarm clocks and the list goes on... It seemed there was always a struggle to find the time... until the loss of people we treasured stopped our regular hurried routines; took our breath away, at least until we could find that place to store our grief and then attempt to move back into our hectic lives. That loss, that memory of that person who filled our hearts has always, I believe, left a shadow over our hearts. Heart shadows have no limits, no magic number, there is always room for more it seems still leavi...

Looking for other dad friends

3h ago

Hey y'all! I'm 33, two boys and married. I moved across the country (the US) in 2020. Since then I've struggled to find new male friends. I have two jobs that take most of my time and then when I'm not working I'm with my family. Im not complaining about that. I love being able to provide for my family and spending time with them but I miss having friendships. I've tried initiating ALOT and I guess I'm just tired of always being the one putting in effort. Anyone else dealt with this or are currently dealing with it? Thanks for listening...

Advice for selling vintage Cartier

3h ago

I’m trying to sell an 18k panthere and 18k white and yellow gold ceinture I got for 15 and 5k respectively in 2021. I bought through eBay and they came with auth cards. I tried to sell through exquisite timepieces and they won’t do it without box and cards which I think is much more rare when it comes to vintage Cartier than Rolex and told me to list myself on Chrono24. My local shop offered me 11k cash for both which feels like a huge lowball. I don’t want to deal with the hassle of listing them myself (photography, shipping, managing the listing) and I’m willing to take a haircut on the transaction. Is there any other reputable site that might be able to take them off my hands at a...

Certifications that lead to remote work (without degree)?

3h ago

* Hey all, need some advice from the ADHD community - first post here, thanks for reading. * Making a list for readability since huge chunks of texts are hard for some of us! 😉 * **Here's my question** \- Does anyone have suggestions regarding certifications for remote work that are relatively ADHD friendly & I could get without a degree? * I'm eligible to work in the US & EU, if that's relevant. * **The TL;DR/More context:** * I've tried every career out there, in classic ADHD fashion. I've worked in food service, retail, at a health food store, office admin, banking, specialty coffee, early childhood education/paraeducation (my favorit...

Phrazed is a daily word game where weird images hide famous phrases

3h ago

I built **Phrazed -** a mobile word game with two ways to play: **Daily Phraze** A daily visual puzzle where weird images hide common phrases, sayings, and idioms. Use the image, word lengths, and a few guesses to solve the Phraze and keep your streak alive. **WTFraze** A party-style caption battle - kind of like *Cards Against Humanity*, but with wild images instead of cards. The twist: the images are created in-game by the community, then humans and ai bots compete to write the funniest Phraze for them. One judge picks the winner, and the best results live in the feed. So it’s basically: **daily brain ritual + community-made meme arena** You can solve the Daily, earn keys, clim...

How do South Africans estimate grocery costs before getting to the till?

3h ago

Hi everyone, I am researching how South African households plan grocery shopping and manage food budgets. For those who do the weekly shop: How do you currently estimate what your groceries will cost before you get to the till? Do you compare prices across stores, check specials, use retailer apps, or mostly rely on memory? What is the most frustrating part of planning groceries right now? I am especially interested in whether people would find it useful to get a rough basket estimate before shopping, even if prices could vary by store, location, promotion, and availability. Not selling anything here. I am trying to understand the problem properly before building a solution.

Been 11 months since my first relationship ended… (5months). How can I fix myself to be better?

3h ago

I (24M now 25) got out of the navy august of 2024. Met my ex(25F now 26) Feb of 2025 and she broke up with me June of 2025. It’s been a pretty challenging year for me. I’ve never had someone say they would’ve married me twice but break up with me and accuse me of cheating. I’ll just list what transpired all within the week that caused this to happen: 1) I accepted a friend request and had a catch up convo with someone who I didn’t date or have any intentions with when I met them around August of 2024. She worked at the weed dispo (I don’t smoke anymore) and I just needed stuff to calm my anxiety when I got out the navy. We exchanged socials and we just would talk here and there....
