Boox tablet, or real laptop and e-ink display?2h agoI've got a couple small E-Ink devices (Kobo Libra Colour, Boox Palma 2) and I've even done some writing on BP2 in Obsidian using a BT keyboard. I have a nice desktop setup but with a newborn, I'm short on opportunities to get to actually sit at my desk hence I'm looking for a laptop or "laptop-like" solution. I've been considering a few options, obviously there are trade-offs here as no perfect E-Ink laptop exists, I'm curious what people here might be doing or if I overlooked something. ### Option 1: Boox Note Air 5c or Note Max Is anyone using one of these as their main computing device? Pros: Out-of the box functionality. Lower cost ($500-700)... have you ever gotten a sign from a dead loved one? do you think this is one?2h agomy boyfriend passed away 2 weeks ago. I was going to marry him. I have been begging for a sign and I think I got one. for some reason, I felt like it was going to be at a thrift store since items are one of a kind. I went to this store where him and I had gotten me a blue dress. I was mindlessly walking through racks when I touched something teal and felt it was the one. had this urge to try it on without even looking at the size. it turns out it's a fully fitting dress that turned out to be just my size. it fits me EXACTLY, almost as if it is made for me. I have a pear shaped body so those are quite rare: usually top is too lose bottom too tight. bought it and later learned the dress c... Perfume Shop in NYC2h agoHey guys! Does anyone know of a good perfume shop that sells old perfumes (Manhattan and Brooklyn preferred). A good vintage/antique store that sells perfume is welcomed too!!:) Radio Broadcast Location - Philadelphia2h agoGood view for sure. Tight fit. Best soft serve in the league AITAH for telling a mutual friend our friend probably wouldn't want to hang out during Eid, and now she says she ne...2h agoI (30F) have a friend (29F). We're both Muslim and it's Ramadan right now so there's been a lot of community events. Recently she went to a women's overnight event at a Masjid. When she got back she told me it went horribly wrong, but then immediately said she didn't want to talk about it. I asked if she was okay and she said yes, so I respected that and dropped the subject. Later I mentioned that a mutual friend of ours is coming to visit for Eid. My friend responded with something along the lines of "if she wants to hang out with me she can talk to me." The tone came off pretty dismissive, like she didnt want to deal with it. Our mutual friend then ... Revealing Sales Interview Questions to Hire the Best Reps2h agoAs a [Sales Manager](https://salesdrive.info/key-strategies-for-successfully-managing-a-sales-team/) or hiring manager, it is your duty to find new sales reps who are promising and destined to bring success to your company, beyond just sales skills. And if you’re like most hiring managers, you may have spent hours weeding through resumes, cover letters, references, etc. for a number of sales candidates. You have pared your list down to a handful of superstar candidates and now comes the time to prepare for the interview. With such fabulous candidates on your docket, it can feel a bit overwhelming to ensure that the interviews go without a hitch, that the candidates are all you ever wan... AIO— grandparents called the police on me2h agoFor context I (18FtM) have several chronic illnesses, the main two in this story being Functional Neurological Disorder (which causes the inability for me to feel my legs for periods of time) and bulging discs. This happened back in December but has recently been brought back up again through therapy. I have brought this up to my family twice since it happened (since they refuse to bring it up on their own) and they have acted like it was no big deal. I just need confirmation that this is a bigger deal than they make it out to be. In mid December I was suffering from extreme back pain (had been in the ER in late November for it but Neurosurgery couldn’t see me until February), it made ... Struggling to find food for breakfast2h agoI’m in Brazil for the next 10 days - I’m in São Paulo for a couple of days, and then Salvador for the rest of my trip. I have ulcerative colitis/crohn’s and am having trouble finding anything I can eat for breakfast without sacrificing my health. When I’m in the US, I usually eat plain cheerios with soy milk. Are there any cereals where there only grain used is oats (oatmeal/porridge doesn’t work well for me because the grans aren’t broken down enough)? Or, are there any grocery stores that sell Cheerios or something similar? Premiere Cinema: final day. 3/12/262h agoBeen in Orlando since January 1st, 2015 the movie theater at Fashion Square Mall (Premiere Cinema 🎥) was my favorite theater. It was close to me, plenty of seats and the old school vibes I loved. Here are some photos. I **** Eid2h agoI know this is a bad thing to say but I genuinely **** eid so much. Every single Eid my dad pulls some outrageous stunt that leaves my entire family in such a bad state that it has ruined Eid for me. Last year he was upset because we went to my moms aunts house for Eid , we thought he was coming until the last minute and we come home and he’s ignoring everyone and being pissy , saying that he wanted to spend Eid with us only and no outside person? He said this and then said oh “yeah my brother was supposed to come too”. The next day he leaves for a week and doesn’t come back. Then on Baqra Eid we were a few towns away and he starts screaming at my mom in the car , like full blown sc... Discover It or Chase Freedom Unlimited?2h agoHi all, I’m 19 years old and opened my first line of credit with Capital One on my 18th birthday in December 2024. I currently only have that card and a credit limit of $500. I am getting offers from chase as I bank with them and my credit score is 700 for the CFU and the CSP. My monthly costs are mostly on gas, shopping at retail stores, DoorDash, dining, Amazon, and online shopping from different vendors. I need help choosing my next card. I want something with cash back, also a SUB. I am trying to get higher credit limits. I am just trying to overall learn more about credit. I see discover it has 5% rotating categories which isn’t bad but I’m not sure what those categories are, I kn... Do they even deserve to be forgiven?2h agoI don't work there, but there was a customer that came into the Little Caesars I was picking up my pizza from and they messed up big time. Instead of using the code that was emailed to them for the Little Caesar's Pizza Portal™, they had the GAUL to complain to an employee that they didn't get the email or know that they needed the code. They tried to say the employee should have just "set the pizza out" because no one knows what the Little Caesar's Pizza Portal™ is. I was just so upset on behalf of the employee's that had to deal with this. the Little Caesar's Pizza Portal™ was rolled out to most stores in fall of 2018, so the fact that this cu... WIBTAH if I refuse to help my brother after he lied about a $1200 laptop?2h agoI(23 F) come from a pretty typical middle-class immigrant family, so big purchases are something we usually plan carefully. I lost my job in November and had to move back in with my parents for a while. Money has been a bit tight and Im still using a 5-year-old phone and a basic Windows laptop. My 18-year-old brother needed a laptop for college. I had promised (when i had a job) him that if he scored good marks, Id help buy him one. My intention was to get him something practical .. ideally a macbook that would last through college. Instead, he took money from both me and my parents (about $1000 from them plus $1200 I gave him) and ended up buying some acer gaming laptop along with a bunc... i replaced a $2,400/mo virtual assistant with a $50/mo AI agent for a shopify store owner. here's exactly how it we...2h agobeen doing AI agent setups for small businesses for a while now. wanted to share some real results because i see a lot of hype but not a lot of actual numbers. **the shopify store** owner was spending 4+ hours every day answering the same customer emails. where is my order. how do i return this. do you have this in size L. she had a VA handling it for $2,400/mo but the VA was slow (6 hour response time average) and made mistakes. set up an openclaw agent connected to her shopify backend via whatsapp and email. the agent pulls order status directly from shopify, handles return requests with the store's actual policy, and answers product questions from a knowledge base we built from he... let me vent here please cos i have nowhere else to2h agoi really want to vent out all my anger so please let me vent i got rejected class of 2030 and here is my story i have always been the weird kid in my class, the one who got no friends. This sounds cliché but it is the reason why im venting here im not the standard paper perfect candidate you see im far from perfect my brain isnt properly optimized for standardised papers and isnt going to be anytime soon teachers ***** my answers due to it sounding less professional and as "teaching a 5 year old with keywords" always questioning things like why i draw to explain concepts and not write in technical format what first broke me was maths exam in grade 10 which... Is Walmart the Olympics of “let’s see who can get in the way and move the slowest the best.” ?2h agoI swear no other retail or grocery store is as infuriating to shop in as Walmart . The closest I’ve seen is probably Costco . But my god why does EVERYONE in there have absolutely no sense of urgency ? That goes for both the shoppers and the employees . Everybody in there just moves at a ridiculously slow pace with no care for anybody else other than themselves . People take up entire sections of aisles and then look at you crazy when you say excuse me and either move very slowly or sometimes not even at ALL! I avoid that place like the plague even if it’s most likely gonna cost more at another store Making models aquarium safe2h agoMe and my daughter are into aquarium and into modelling. Tasteless as it is in the aquarium world in our latest tank (a heavy planted tropical walstad/low tech sort of affair) she wants us to add a sunken pirate ship. Now I think on the dry land we can make a model far better than any tat from the big chain fish store near us. But I have no idea how to approach aquarium safe modelling. Are there any sealants I can cover my model with just to seal it in and not worry about the materials ? Or does anyone have a list of aquarium safe materials and glues etc ? any tips on anything appreciated ! Why are people so scared of Saturn in astrology?2h agoEveryone is so scared of Saturn all the time, but honestly I feel like that fear is a little misplaced. People talk about Saturn like it’s some kind of punishment planet, when in reality it’s more like a reality check or a restructuring force. If anything, Pluto can be just as intense, if not more, because it deals with deep transformation and things that feel completely out of our control. But even then, I don’t really think astrology is something we should approach with fear in the first place. Astrology doesn’t tell us that we’re destined to be rich or poor, rewarded or punished. What it really shows us is where we have the potential to rise or fall, and what themes or areas ... Info about my late grandmother's records?2h agoThese records belonged to my late grandmother, and I decided to keep them after she passed. I am now moving and have no where to store them. I assumed they weren't worth much, so I listed them on Facebook Marketplace for free. I received about 20 messages within the first few minutes, several of which were begging me to have them. I then received a message from someone saying: "Hey there definitely look some of these up, if they are in good shape they could go for some good money! You might could also sell them all to a vinyl shop, pawn shop or some other second hand store around. Don’t want you to get screwed. Take care!" I would appreciate any input. Above all else, I jus... for fucks sake2h agoi **** needing to sort through my mods just to find the one that fucks with TMTRAINER just let it work normally PLEASE flaired as bug because obviously it's not supposed to happen ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
