I'm working on building an old 1972 350 chevy block and I found a great deal on a set of stripped down 461 casting fuelie heads that I'd like to buy. The heads are stripped down, and I will be making a 2.5 hour drive just to look at them tomorrow. The issue is that I don't want to buy them if I need to have them completely overhauled at a machine shop. How can I check the valve seats, and tell if they've heads have been milled too much to be useful, without "the right tools"? Our car broke down earlier this week at home and a mechanic was sent to repair it on the drive. My husband has his Christmas party today, so left me in charge of dealing with the mechanic. Before he left, he explicitly said 'do not give him the keys, just open the car for him but do not give him the keys'. First thing the mechanic asked for when he got started was 'Can I have the key?' As the title says a friend from my wrters group was lucky enough to sell her single cam sitcom pilot. She had been working on that project for maybe 2 years and sold it only for the studio that bought it to turn around and kill it because they had something too similar that was much further along the pipeline. I'm sharing this because I honestly didn't think this even happened. She's absolutely devastated and the rest of us are now anxious about sending out material. Placed the order mid-November, first Christmas shopping I’d done completely boxed off except for chocolates and a bottle of Whiskey, easy enough to sort next time I’m in the supermarket. After several emails chasing up the order I’m now told is it completely lost, not sure whether it was even dispatched and all items out of stock so can only give a refund.
