I’ve been with Optimum Fiber Internet for over a year now, and I’ve had no issues or bad experiences until this week. When I first got my 1GB service, I got installed the Fiber Gateway 6E modem (GR240JH). It was fantastic! I could connect to the 6GHz band and enjoy the full speed of my service. Last week, I called Optimum and was offered a 2GB plan for the same price. I accepted without hesitation. This past Saturday, a technician came by and replaced my old router because it didn’t support the new speeds. My optimum installation appointment was set for anytime between 8AM and 11Am and the technician was here exactly at 8AM. Slight misunderstanding about what services I wanted (he thought I wanted to update my television service, I wanted to discontinue) but once that was straightened out, with a few glitches he got me online and was finished by 9:15. Now heading to Optimum store to return boxes, cables and remotes Fingers crossed everything continues to work well!!

I am moving to an area not serviced by Optimum. Last week, I called the executive support number to cancel. The entire call was done in 5 minutes. They instructed me to return my equipment to my Optimum store and get a receipt. Later that day, another Optimum rep called to verify my cancellation. Again, no upselling or difficulty, but a bit confused why it required a second phone call. This rep made a comment that the previous rep did not process my cancellation, but she assured me that she completed the steps on her end. Absolutely cannot cancel service. I have tried for days, 13 hours on 4 separate occasions and I just get transferred endlessly to that next “escalation expert”, with each one I have to start totally over and am then told I have contacted the wrong department and I will need to be transferred, ad nauseum. Press 1 to be connected to wireless, press 1 for personal wireless, connect to agent and No, I’m connected with Optimum TV who cannot do anything about wireless but “I will connect you to our team who can accommodate that request for you in no time”. So apparently in 2026, companies can just take your money twice, wreck your account, and then tell you to deal with it. Here’s what happened: On March 18, Optimum ran a duplicate ACH debit on my bank account. Same charge. Same day. Not authorized. Not my fault. For some context my family lives on a military installation where we are limited on our options for internet so our only options are Optimum or Xfinity for internet. The last 2 weeks our internet has been absolute **** and we had to reset it everyday until today it finally just quit working all together. I'm on Long Island and we had a power outage today from the blizzard. Even though I had my modem on a UPS it would not power back on when power was restored. I own the modem so I need to replace it. Does anyone have a list of compatible modems or will any DOCIS 3.1 modem work? Hi All, I got a new computer and was trying to install the antivirus software from McAfee provided by Optimum (which I have on my old computer) and when I get to the screen, it’s just a spinning wheel that never loads. According to their website, closest store is now in White Plains. When I google the MMK store, it says permanently closed in one spot and then another spot says open tomorrow at 9am.

I'm a big "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" fan, but my owned Arris TM1602 is only doing 100mbps. While my internet service has been rock-solid for years, I think I need to upgrade to a 3.1 modem. I need Optimum Voice, and I don't want to go fiber quite yet. I've read numerous reports that trying to get an Arris TM3402 provisioned for internet and voice is a nightmare with Optimum customer service. I would rather not rent the equipment, but I might consider it for peace of mind. So my question is, if I rent the TM3402, can I just go down to my local Optimum Store in Mamaroneck and pick up the equipment, or do I need a tech visit?

I port forwarded 27015 for garrys mod, i booted up the start.bat (since thats necessary for the port to be recognized as open), i know i port forwarded since i literally went into the optimum site, TCP/UDP, 27015 -> 27015, and it told me that it was indeed, forwarded. well then i go to [portchecker.co](http://portchecker.co) to find out its not, as the server is running.

I ordered an iPhone 17 on October 15th 2025 and 5 weeks later still am getting the same email that’s it’s on back order. I went to the local third party optimum store and they have them in stock. So frustrating bec there is no one that has helped. Feel scammed, especially with no back order notice if you buy now even.

Cancelled optimum online and went to Verizon. Returned my router to a physical optimum store on 10/31, asked for a receipt and the guy said they don’t give physical receipts and I would receive an email. When I signed up in a phone call they gave me a price, said the install fee would be waived, and said if I got my own router I not have to pay the gateway+router fee (I assumed same as verizon w/ ONT + router/AP. They did not say I needed a gateway as well). After install, I had to call to get the same price, and only for 6 months. They also claimed they don't even offer the plan I was offered, but I have an email with it. I found out today that Vero Fiber is not going to be accepted by the owner of our apartment complex. Is there anything people have done to improve their connection with optimum? I rarely get over 50 mbps whilst paying for a full gig, it is absurd and practically unusable at times. I’ve already gone to the Optimum store and gotten the best router/gateway they have. Does Optimum really just **** that bad?
