What’s open/closed on Easter in Dayton 🐣 🐇 🌷

$27k for 125 guests Oct Saturday 2025

Hi all! A little late but wanted to help out the sub I used so much for wedding planning last year. Our wedding took place in DFW. We planned it in 6 mos. We didn’t have any issues finding our vendors. Most were secured by end of April. Most of our guests were local or at least a few hour drive. I’m glad I didn’t have to plan and stress about the wedding for a whole year. I enjoyed most of the planning outside and was mostly stressed the last two weeks (guest count/seating chart was the most stressful part for me). How we saved money: \-all decore was basically DIY and minimal. Our venue was clean and modern. It wasn’t extravagant but was beautiful to us. \-Did our own flowers...

I worked over 15 years each in Retail, Fast Food, Pizza restaurants, and as a Catering Supervisor... AMA about food prep...

35d ago

I have worked in various positions and at various levels throughout the past 35 years in Retail (Kmart, Walmart, Office Max, Office Depot...), in Fast Food (McDonald's, Arby's, Wendy's, BK...), and as a Catering Supervisor (Panera Bread, Boston Market)... I have countless good, bad, amazing, and disastrous experiences, having worked at a "beginner" level doing the worst of the worst kind of jobs, climbing and being promoted to the upper tiers of store management/supervision. I can answer so many questions people may have, without any non-disclosure rules, since it has been over 5 years since I left the last one of these roles. I am very active on Reddit and will a...

Who else got their car booted at Office Depot on S Lamar?

43d ago

What a racket! Went to Loro (great food, staff, prices - totally recommend), since there was limited parking, I noticed there were obviously at least 7 cars in the back corner of the EMPTY *** parking lot at Office Depot next door. Yes, there were signs, but my country bumpkin *** figured if there are that many folks doing it, they won't tow us all, right?! Well, the existence of the tire boot did not occur to me until it was too late. Upon my return from the glorious meal at Loro, I noticed my tire booted with a ticket on my window. Attendant waiting in the wings to accept cash or card and remove the boot. $100 per boot, and I counted several on my way out of the lot. Yes, I know ...

Tl;dr - the pilot G2 wrote 41 pages Everything below this statement is my own terrible opinion, so try your own test trials and find out for yourself. If walls of text aren’t your thing, skip to the bottom. We are lucky enough to live in an age when the options for writing implements are greater than they have ever been in history. Even today we are caught in a veritable hurricane of choices, with incredible new and creative options being released at breakneck speeds. But the devil’s greatest trick was giving us options. What pen is the superior choice? Which one will I like the best? Is there one that fits my writing style better than the others? When will Scarlett Johansson answer my...

Job Search Frustration

52d ago

This is partly venting my frustrations but also looking for some genuine advice or suggestions. I’m a UofA graduate who's been struggling to find a decent job for almost two years now. I worked at an Office Depot for a few months as a cashier but the pay and hours were awful. I’ve tried looking for jobs out of state, but I haven’t had any luck. I've either received no response, or the few interviews that were successful didn’t have any positions available. I’ve been keeping an eye out for jobs on almost every listing site, as well as the Pima county and UofA. The last entry level position I applied for at the county had over 50 applicants, some of them were around my mom...

I **** trying to learn art and i **** the culture surrounding it

54d ago

This isnt going to be some pro-ai "lemme make slop without judgement" post, just to be clear. I am anti-AI. THAT BEING SAID ive been trying to learn art for about seven or eight years, ive been working on getting better since middle school. It hasnt been a focus of mine, just something i do in my limited spare time, and despite that i havent gotten any measurably better than when i was a ****** *** 7th grader, drawing dicks in the margins of my worksheets. I tried reading books and talking to other actually good artists but they give me all of this advice ive either already heard and wasnt helping, or dump a bunch of jargon on me that i dont understand because i draw like a ...

Grocery store prices

85d ago

I had to run into Office Depot for an item and as I needed a few groceries I thought I’d run into Fresh Thyme Market. Haven’t been there since JoAnn’s closed and I was astonished at their prices! Prairie Farms 2% milk was $5.49, a head of non organic lettuce was $3.49. I walked around and thought these are Whole Foods type of prices. Wowza.

A list of what stores that take Digital Pay and the list that doesn't anymore.

Lowe's and Ralph's killed me today. Customer support sent me this list if anyone needs it.
