A Week of Jellycat Hunting

1h ago

My haul after a week of Jellycat hunting in London (with a day trip to the Selfridges in Birmingham)! I went to a mix of department stores and smaller local shops and truly had the best time exploring the city while collecting some new friends :)

stocking supervisor

1h ago

looks like im gonna be interviewing for this position! i've only worked at wfm about 6 months but am strong in my current position, overnight grocery tm, and my TL has expressed that she thinks i would do well in a higher position and excel in training new tms whenever we get them. anyone with this position too how is it? and how should i prepare for the interview?

What is it like working at Tops?

1h ago

Hi! I have been working for one of the nation’s top grocery companies since 2017 and have been trying to apply for department head positions to no avail, despite being told by my direct supervisors that I would be a good fit. (Keeping specifics intentionally vague because I signed a contract saying I wouldn’t show the company in a bad light online or else I’d lose my job.) Neither the district’s head of the department I was looking to lead nor the manager of either store has been of any help explaining why I was denied. I had to ask the assistant store manager of the first location if she knew anything to find out that I was denied and was met with “Oh. I thought it was communica...

I’m so glad I decided to stop today! Some HOT finds, some FLOP finds

1h ago

I wasn’t even planning on a DT trip today, it’s not even a stock day, I went 2 days ago and they didn’t have much of the new stuff anyways. I just needed some bubble mailers to send some goodies out on the DT exchange sub, but here we are! 🤦‍♀️ \- I’m a vivid colorist in my downtime, and my little cosmetologist heart squealed when I saw the bowl and brush kits! They’re actually decent quality, very comparable to the ones I get at the beauty supply store. \- Someone had just recently posted about the White Rain shampoos, conditioners, and leave ins, and how much they liked them, so I picked them up to try. I have processed, vibrantly colored hair, so fingers crossed...

Underwear recommendations for my tall, slim bf with fit issues

1h ago

I’m trying to help my partner find underwear that actually works for him. He’s tall and lean, and most styles he’s tried either feel restrictive in the front or uncomfortable around the legs. Boxers end up riding up or bunching, and tighter styles don’t seem designed with his proportions in mind. I want to surprise him with something higher quality that’s comfortable and well designed, not just basic department store stuff. Ideally something that has enough room where it matters without feeling bulky everywhere else. If anyone has suggestions for brands or specific styles that work well for slimmer builds, I’d really appreciate it.

The Most Important Motorcycle in British Racing History Just Came Out of Hiding. After 40 Years.

1h ago

Barry Sheene's 1977 world championship-winning Suzuki RG500 goes under the hammer in April. No reserve. No second chances. The sister bike is still with the Sheene family. This is the one that is for sale. In the mid 1970s, there were two men in Britain whose faces you could put on a poster and everyone would know exactly who they were. One drove a Formula 1 car. The other rode a motorcycle. James Hunt won the F1 title in 1976. Barry Sheene won the 500cc motorcycle world championship in the same year, then won it again in 1977, then never quite won it again despite trying for another seven years with characteristic ******-mindedness. The motorcycle that won the 1977 title has been i...

Do I need to be worried?

No updates since the 28th and it’s a roughly 90-95 dollar package that I’m expecting from them. I’ve never had this happen with UPS before so I’m hoping it’s just taking forever to be updated.

Started meat cutting class and provided with two knives!

2h ago

Hello! I work in a grocery store and had the opportunity to become a meat cutter, which is something I always wanted to learn. Everyone in the class was given an 8" breaking knife and a 6" boning knife. From my understanding these are standard shop knives from Victorinox. There isn't any sheath and I don't have any type of case for them. What would y'all recommend I use to store the knives and keep them safe for travel? I have seen knife bags, but for two knives I kinda just want to get a couple of sheath. Also I am pretty sure I can simply use the community steels. Do y'all have any recommendations? Thanks for any input. We were literally just handed...

Home Depot

Home Depot's performance in fiscal 2025 presents a nuanced story—they didn't dramatically "beat" expectations with zero storms, but they demonstrated remarkable resilience by delivering positive comps and maintaining market share despite losing a significant revenue tailwind from the prior year. The company posted 0.3% comp growth for the year and delivered better-than-revised guidance after initially missing Q3 expectations due to the storm headwind.Key Performance Metrics MetricQ4 2026 ResultQ2 2026 ResultFull Year 2025Total Sales$38.2B (down 3.8%)$45.3B (up 4.9%)$164.7B (up 3.2%)Comp Sales+0.4%+1.0%+0.3%U.S. Comps+0.3%+1.4%+0.5%Adjusted EPS$2.72 (down 13.1%)$4.68 (u...

Checkout/shopping apps support

2h ago

Just wondered if this issue is widespread or not - on my food department the management team have taken a hardline with some staff who have existing checkout training and shopping apps experience constantly having to support checkouts, whilst we have several colleagues who have been with the company many years, who will only ever do frozen, BWS, H&B and will never volunteer to help other colleagues work other sections nor will managers ever ask them to do anything other than that one single task. The management team will happily go through the disciplinary process with one defiant food colleague who dares not to turn upp to a queue buster call (having been down 3 or 4 times already t...

Functualism in Bergen [OC]

3h ago

Photos 1, 2: Sundt-gården, the Sundt department store (Per Geelmyden Grieg, 1932-38) Looking at Per Grieg’s Sundt department store, it’s quite understandable how he became one of the most popular architects in Bergen during the interwar period and again after the Second World War, and many of his works are considered to be among the absolute best in Bergen from this period. He was a versatile architect with the ability to immerse himself in projects, creating works that were both distinctive and personal at the same time. The bronze statue of Mercury is by Sophus Madsen   Photos 3, 4: Kalmarhuset (Leif Grung, 1936) The Kalmarhuset was designed for the Æolus marine insurance compa...

Voyager notebook / Peter Pauper Press

3h ago

Hi, for the past month or so I've been taking a look at the more "high end" / "premium" notebook offerings, such as Moleskine or Leuchtturm. For my whole life I've been using ordinary 70gsm department store school notebooks and 80gsm office paper and while I haven't complained and still am not, I want to experience a good high quality notebook and compare it to a regular old one I've been using for years, as well as research how they're made since I have a passive interest in bookbinding as well. Ultimately I've laid my eyes on the Traveler's Notebook, and while it probably won't do much for my binding research, I really love leat...

EXCLUSIVE: You Can Now Talk to Your Code Editor and Anthropic Claude Just Made It Real 🤖

3h ago

Anthropic just started rolling out Voice Mode for Claude Code, its AI coding assistant, letting developers speak commands directly to their coding environment instead of typing them. An Anthropic engineer announced the gradual release on X Tuesday — it is live for roughly 5% of users right now with a full rollout planned over the coming weeks. To use it, developers simply type /voice to toggle it on, then speak naturally: "refactor the authentication middleware" and Claude Code executes. The timing tells you everything about where AI coding is heading. Claude Code's run-rate revenue already surpassed $2.5 billion in February, more than doubling since the start of 2026, a...

New Grad Pharmacist in Toxic, Dysfunctional Center – Should I Quit or Stick It Out?

4h ago

TL;DR: New grad pharmacist, 5 months in, mentally and physically drained. Morning shift carries ~80% of all work; my senior does almost nothing. Expired controlled meds being abused, supervisors ask me to hide them or ignore missing/unauthentic documentation — legally risky. Nurses constantly yell, ignore, and psychologically torment us. I manage pharmacy, medical supplies, shortages, and write/sign prescriptions myself. Underpaid, constantly contacted off-shift. Saved ~$4,000 USD and financially not concerned, no dependents. Considering quitting at trial end — stay for experience or escape this daily ****? Hi Reddit, I need honest advice. I’m a new grad pharmacist, 5 months into m...

Has anyone had success selling general mid range (mall brand / dept store) pre-owned men's clothing?

4h ago

Has anyone had success selling general men's adult pre-owned clothing? I know that trendy or limited release items would sell (something like Chrome Hearts). But what about your average mall brand/mall department store button downs, polos, sweaters, sweartshirts, t-shirts etc in good condition? Brands such as Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, LL Bean, J Crew, Lacoste, Eddie Bauer, Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole, Nike, North Face etc. I suspect the market for new with tag items is greater than pre-owned. What sells and what doesn't? Anecdotally, I've only ever heard females discussing consignment and pre-owned clothing. Walking down streets and mall cooridors, every consignme...
