I don't want to say what kind of shop it is because there is literally only one of them in the city/henrico right now. There's another similar one but they sell different stuff, and aren't really a factor. The local shop has been family-owned since it opened. They have treated me with respect and kindness every time I've been to them. They are the epitome of what a small local business should be like. I’ve never been to an Aldi before and went today - loved how small it was, clean, simple. I got way more stuff than I’d planned to and it was $80. Insane! I’m definitely adding this into my rotation. I’m trying to save more money this year and this will definitely add up. My plan is to make my shopping list and get what I can at Aldi, then anything name brand or specialty items that I need fill in the blanks at nicer grocery stores. Given the fact you can get probably 75-80% of what you need at Aldi, I think this will add up. It’s kind of fun to save money 😎

Finally was able to find a best day sampler at a liquor store by me and loving it. Finding a good hazy, getting in some gaming and it’s my first day off on vacation…. It is the best day

I moved to this area 2 years ago and since then I’ve seen 7 businesses close on this stretch of road, New State Highway on 44, between 104 and 24 in Raynham and Taunton. This stretch of road is only about a mile. All of the stores that have closed have not reopened. The list of stores: 1. Big Lots 2. Game Stop 3. IHOP 4. Jo-Ann 5. Party City 6. Stop and Shop 7. Walgreens While many of these stores went out of business, not all of them have. It’s odd so many now struggling businesses were leasing here and even stranger they weren’t doing well considering how many commuters drive through here. Is this happening else where across the state?

I work & live in nyc and often notice the technical wear scene across neighborhoods. It feels like people are stuck in a loop of buying brand-new (or low quality secondhand), whereas when I look at the UK market (sites like Known Source or Pastdown), there’s a massive appreciation and online store presence for actual secondhand archival assets. In nyc, I see everyone wearing the same 3 current-gen shells, but have a difficult time finding the high end vintage performance stuff that has more soul. Is it just a lack of access/specialist shops here, or does the US  just value new over archive?

Hoping this wonderful hive mind knows a spot where I can buy a bottle of retsina in town. So far I've struck out at World Market and Trader Joe's. It's a wine so it didn't show up on the OLCC liquor registry, and I don't think we have a Greek market locally.
