Tried unsubscribing and could take 5-7 business days. Thankfully I used my junk email for this. Kiln dried cherry issues3h ago I paid for a local mill to pick up three cherry logs from my property. This was around March of last year. The agreement between him and I was at I was paying for the lumber to get milled and then kill dried. He sent me some pictures of the finished product 1 month ago, saying it was ready to be picked up. I'm just looking for some input on the pictures he sent me which all attached below. I do have some concerns that this wood was stacked and stored in properly. I have not picked it up yet. Since it was kept outside after kiln drying and exposed to plenty of rain, would it need to be redried before I can use it? I met with him yesterday and he told me that he k... Can I Build an Amazon Clone Without Experience—Here’s What Happened3h agoWhen the idea first popped into my head, it felt both exciting and wildly unrealistic: *Could I build something like Amazon without any prior experience in developing eCommerce platforms?* No professional coding background. No experience with large-scale systems. Just curiosity, determination, and access to endless online resources. What followed was a journey full of confusion, small victories, frustrating bugs, and eye-opening lessons. If you’ve ever wondered whether you can build something as complex as an Amazon-style platform from scratch, this story will give you a grounded, honest answer. # The Illusion of Simplicity At first glance, Amazon looks straightforward: * A homepage *... I Tried to Buy Groceries and Ended Up Breaking Down3h agoEarlier, I went out, and I was already having a hard time even leaving the house. Then near the metro, where I was supposed to do my shopping, there were a bunch of thugs outside. I went in the wrong direction, and I couldn’t take out my phone because I was scared of getting robbed, so I couldn’t use GPS. Once I got farther away and found a safer spot, I quickly checked my phone to get to the grocery store. But when I got to the checkout, my head started shaking. It felt like my body and mind weren’t in sync. I had to force myself to press in my card code to pay. It was absolute ****. Now I’m home and I’m breaking down. I don't understand why my body shaking y'all I don&... I called a record shop near Boston to see if they had the new album3h agoSo I thought I would do some social engineering and I called a very big and well known record shop in the Boston area. I asked if they were participating in RSD (Record Store Day) this Saturday, to which they responded "of course" and I then asked how much the new Boards of Canada album will cost. Not if they had it or not, just how much will it cost. I hoped this would bypass any rules they have about telling callers if they have something or not ahead of time. The employee searched the computer and some paperwork and said Boards of Canada was not on his list for this weekend's RSD. I'm still hopeful, but I wanted to pass this along if anyone is also anticipating th... Wuthering Waves Version 3.3 "Reverbs From the End of Galaxies" Special Report3h agoShan Hai:Mythic Origins - Wishlist on Steam now!3h agoGive us a wishlist on Steam if you like what you see! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3540450?utm\_source=myzz\_r Top New Releases for April 173h agoFirst, I just wanted to thank everyone who participated in the AMA with Redcast Heritage last weekend. People seriously showed up for this one, and you all asked some fantastic questions. Honestly, this is why we even get to host events like this. We don’t have some connection to Redcast, we simply have all of you, this awesome community! And when we reach out to shops and makers to see if they’re interested in doing a give-away, or an AMA, we can confidently tout the greatness of our nearly 30,000 members, and that resonates with folks. So thank you for just being here and contributing, and keeping this place a welcoming, positive community for those that truly care about what they wear... Questions you need to ask at a jewellery store this Akshaya Tritiya before you buy anything3h agoWent with a friend last year to buy a chain and watched him get blindsided at billing. sharing this in case it helps anyone shopping this weekend Tip 1: Ask about the making charge % (for plain gold at a decent store it should be under \~10% and is usually negotiable) Tip 2: Verify the hallmark on the BIS Care app by scanning the HUID on the tag (takes 30 seconds) Tip 3: Check bank cashback offers and District for extra deals, they often stack. Basicallyyy, ask more questions even though it feels uncomfortable. Jewellery stores count on people being too polite to ask questions about the bill. Finally built my own paint calculator - and the shopping list feature made my day3h agoFor years I calculated all my materials in huge spreadsheets. You know the ones:) The thing is, on site I never had access to my computer. And those online calculators just never felt right — too generic, missing things I actually needed. So I just built my own. Took a day. The part I'm most happy about is the shopping list it generates based on your room size. Tape, rollers, drop cloth — all calculated. Sounds small but not driving to the store twice is genuinely life changing 😅 What do you think? Update: ICN T2 still a mess3h ago9:30 pm flight, got to airport at 6 pm. we went to Paradise City beforehand and it was great. Then started the fun. 0. Bag drop - was pretty straightforward, no problems thanks asiana. 1. Tax free counters prior to security - three kiosks were broken by gate F. This was what I was expecting to be the most painful part of the check-in process. While it wasn't as bad as Portugal (shout out to Global Blue in Porto airport - by far the most horrendous process of all time), it was still painful and saving barcodes not as intuitive as you think. About 20 minutes. Little did I know... Security was coming. 2. Smartpass - did this in line at tax free, actually shaved off like 20 minutes... Indiana Begjnner3h agoLaunching my first store soon but it is actually Tiktok Shop. Hardest thing so far as a beginner for my product is finding a manufacture (in the US) that doesn’t have a really high MOQ, and does fulfillment and shipping that meets Tiktok’s requirements. And also cheap enough to where I still have good margins. Plan as of right now is buying products from China, and expediting the shipping via air to Tiktok Fulfillment Center. You may think that’s more expensive but it’s about half of the price or better honestly. Any recommendations starting out? Plan is to do affiliate marketing. Test the waters with about 100-200 products. 25-30% for affiliate commission. My niche is really po... Bad driving friend situation3h agoIf you didn't want to drive with your friend because you don't like her driving, and you feel like she gets a little bit reckless after she has a drink or two, how would you handle that on a consistent basis so you didn't have to go in the car with her? I have voiced my opinion to her a couple of times while she was driving, so she knows that I have an issue. Even without drinking, her driving is pretty scary and I don't enjoy any relaxing drives with her. But she still wants to be the driver a lot of times when we go places. I don't want to upset her, it's not a deal breaker for our friendship yet, but I just don't know how to consistently avoid it. Someti... The unfairness of Vinted from a "small" country's perspective3h agoI don't understand why Vinted won’t connect my country to more countries. I live in Croatia, and trust me, when we got Vinted, we were really excited and happy. That’s because we don’t really have many thrift shopping options here. We do have a few thrift shops, but only in certain cities, and most of the time they mainly sell granny clothes, often in larger sizes. We also don’t have big thrift markets like in some other countries. We do have flea markets, but they’re usually more focused on things like tools, kitchen items, or car parts rather than actual clothing. We also don’t have deadstock stores, or the kind of random second-hand sales where people in other countries... In love with NOLA3h agohiii everyone, I just wanna say that I ******* love New Orleans. beautiful beautiful city and beautiful beautiful people. probably my favorite city I’ve ever visited. I took a girls trip with my bestie and we stayed Tuesday through today, Friday, but next time we’re definitely coming on a weekend. so here’s what we did! day 1: landed around 6pm; checked into hotel in the warehouse district; we stayed at the Cambria and it was beautiful; I loved the spooky skeleton curtains lol; we went to snappers for dinner (it was pretty good!); walked around canal street and got one of those big *** daiquiris. was very very pleased to not wake up w a headache lmao day 2: breakfast at the hotel; h... Favorite Local Shop?3h agoHi all! Currently on a vacation where I had a goal to work on my still photography - learned video in high school and wanted to pick up still as a hobby. I’m currently driving cross country US on my return trip. I’m looking for a good, favorite locally owned camera store along i90 or i80. I’m currently in Wyoming, headed towards Badlands National Park, then on back east. I have a few questions - not sure if some things in encountering is a me problem, a settings problem, or if I’m asking too much from my current camera. If it’s the last one, I’d rather drop the cash to someone it matters for and not a major online retailer - even at a premium. Plus I get to see what fee... Changed shop & deliver flow3h agoToday did couple of shop & deliver orders from coles and this new flow came. App asked me to get some priority items first and this was frustrating. Because of this, I can't buy items in order. I had to go to aisle 1 and then 5 and after that other items were visible. This made me take more time to buy stuff as I had run around the store almost twice. Why do they make such changes randomly? A product manager sitting in comfortable office should at least do some orders themselves to understand practical challenges in such ****** changes!
