Hello! I wanted some advice on sewing machines and what to buy. I mostly want one for alterations but also for making things from scratch. I’m in college so my budget is a bit small, but I’ve been looking at shops near me that sell refurbished ones and FBmarketplace for used ones. I also need something that fits in my room and isn’t super hard to move around/store. I took a sewing class in high school (which was like 5 years ago 😅) so I have some basic knowledge, though I’m probably gonna have to relearn a lot. I work at a grocery store maintained by a horde of morons. Every week, the refrigeration unit goes out. Whether the fans break, the drainage clogs, the oil burns up, whatever—it fails without fail once a week. We put in a work order, and after a few days, a new schlub shows up and starts poking around. To all my plus sized teens, women & men is anyone else having severe troubles trying to find REAL fabrics like 100% cotton? Polyester is made from plastic garbage it seeps into the skin enters blood stream causing more micro plastic diseases. Extremely dangerous. I used to purchase my clothing from Nike but they've all switched to plastic fabrics. Where do you plus sized people shop for cotton??? I've tried thrift stores, torrid, maurcies, lane braynt I'm not having any sort of luck. We need to bring back real fabrics & cotton.
