I usually pick them up at the grocery stores, but no luck there, or at any of the candy stores I've checked. His father Laurence Strange inherited a debt-ridden estate and married his mother, an heiress, for her money. She died when Jonathan was four. Jonathan’s father didn’t treat him well. Thirty years later in 1808, an ambitious new manservant called J... Replacing old ICE for Model Y1h agoWe’re a family of 4—me, my wife, and two little kids under 4 years old. We’ve already got a 2021 Model Y Performance, which we love and use all the time. About 85 thousand miles on it. My wife had a 2014 Camry that we just sold for around $10K. Honestly, we barely drove it, so the battery kept dying on us. Every rare occasion we needed it, we’d have to jump-start the thing. It just felt like an outdated fossil that no one wanted to touch, whether solo or with the kids. Since we have a mobile charger at home, adding another EV seems like a no-brainer. We’ve been browsing Tesla’s used inventory on their site, and some 2023 Model 3 RWDs are popping up for under $20K with 45-50K mil... Fellow unemployed folks, what do you all do to fill your time in between submitting job applications, sending out emails...1h agoI'm posting since I'm someone who graduated with a PhD back in August and have been looking for a job with vocational rehabilitation (I'm disabled) ever since December 2024. Even though I've been told constantly to treat looking for a job like a full-time job in of itself, which makes sense on paper, practically that's anything but the case. My field is sadly super niche and it's not difficult for potential employers to Google me, see my LinkedIn, and that I have a PhD. I studied Experimental Psychology, which means that I can't get licensed to work with people clinically and instead focus on research only. I studied attention and reading comprehension in m... Latkes for one — achievement unlocked1h agohttps://preview.redd.it/nzwv2nz4008g1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4054ce411763252680ce369eec3c94c8becab274 First things first. Yes, you can crisp latkes without a ton of oil. You can, that is, if you have a very well seasoned cast-iron pan. And no, this picture does not show the level of crisp I got. What you’re seeing is just the beginning of the fry. So at my extremely advanced age I’ve finally mastered latkes for one. I own no food processor and I don’t want to grate by hand. First, I thought I’d buy some fresh local heat and serve. But this year they’re going for $4–5 a latke! I complained online (of course). A foodie friend responded an... Found at my local grocery store1h agoIt‘s been like that for like half a year now. 40 female starting weight 225- current weight 145.8 goal is to be a muscle mommy 💪1h agoSo after I had my youngest I crept up to 257 at delivery . After about 6 weeks my body was down to 225. Which is still pretty thickkkk for my height. I remember when I would walk my oldest to school I couldn’t make it the school without having to stop and catch my breathe. That evening We went fishing in my husband’s boat and he took a few photos of me and our newborn and I just lost it right there in the boat and the next day I decided to start. I chose to eat extremely clean. I’m talking the isles on the outside of the grocery store only. Dairy, meats, vegetables. Everything in the middle wasn’t good for me. I also got back into riding horses. Which was extremely difficult bein... Whole water chestnuts2h agoHas anybody seen whole water chestnuts anywhere? I’ve looked at Sobeys, Metro, Walmart, and FoodLand but no luck. Want to avoid wasting my time going to other grocery stores that don’t have them if I can. Thank you!! I think Stephanie had a bad day!2h agoA little contex: The ORIGINAL order was a large grocery order from Kroger. As I was checking out, it sent me Stephanie's order. It ended up sending me 2 more after that for a total of 4 orders. I'd also like to note that she ordered 2 items. Some hot chicken from the deli, and some frozen jimmy dean sandwiches. Then I had to pick up a small order from Target, and another order from Home Depot. I TOTALLY understand why she was annoyed, and to be perfectly honest, maybe if she'd approached me in a polite way, I'd have explained to her that yes, I can go in and manually swap things around, but that it really wouldnt make any sense logistically, and that as long as there i... I think my sister is about to make a big mistake and I don't know how to help her2h agoHello everyone. I(23f) have a problem and I hope to get some advice. I think my sister is about to make a big mistake. First I'll tell you a little backstory. Please excuse my grammar, English isn't my first language. My sister is 29 years old and she got married last year and moved to another country with her husband. He's been living there for several years so he knows the language, but she doesn't. She's learning. She has an IT degree, but is struggling to find job in her field due to not knowing the language. So now she works in a grocery store. Now here's the problem. She hates her job. She want out of it and the only way in her opinion is to get pregnant... Semester abroad advice2h agoI just finished my semester abroad in Tokyo and looking back on the past few months it is clear that staying in a homestay was a huge part of actually settling in. Most students I knew were in dorms but I wanted to see the daily side of things like how a kitchen actually functions or how the neighborhood routines work. My host mother would make traditional breakfasts with grilled fish every morning and we would just chat about my classes which helped my listening skills more than my actual lectures did. A specific memory that stands out was my host father taking the time to show me the local shrine tucked away behind the grocery store and explaining the neighborhood history that isn't ... I was out sick last week so I only get paid $110 this week and I am so stressed because I have so many bills to pay. Every month I have to pay about $300 in bills which is my whole pay check but this week I don’t even have that money so I can’t pay my credit card bill, my vet bill, and I haven’t even started paying my student loans because I literally don’t have the money. Before I moved back into my parents house this year, I lived in an apartment where I used all of my savings on rent and groceries. So currently I have nothing. No ... Is Appleton overgrown?2h ago— we lived in Green Bay, moved out of state, now back in Appleton Wi area. Besides the 41 congestion, it seems ALL the roadways are congested including leaving grocery stores, convenience stores, etc. I have lived all over and the traffic to get to Walmart or Target is crazy and so many long red lights! I do not know if it’s the way Appleton is set up, but compared to Green Bay… Green Bay has a better setup and more stores with easy access. Definitely not so congested everywhere. With more apartment buildings going up left and right & many new subdivisions… what do you think Appleton & surrounding areas need to do to sustain this growth?
