Cos wall reset/revision

50m ago

So I’m on the last department of the cos wall, which is NO7. Does anyone else have it at their store? If so, did you use the fixture planogram? I’ve noticed that the fixture planogram is different from the actual planogram and I’m so confused on that.

Can’t return Nordstrom Rack online order to physical Nordstrom Rack store because it’s a designer item?

1h ago

I purchased some shoes online at Nordstrom Rack. Started a return online to generate the in-store return barcode. Went to the Nordstrom Rack close by and the cashier said they can’t accept the return after they scanned it; it has to go to a Nordstrom department store since it’s a designer item. Is this a new or relatively recent policy change? I’ve returned designer items (sunglasses, wallets, etc.) purchased from the rack online to the rack store in the past without issue.

Locations between dreams

1h ago

I've been visiting mall world every night and I'm realizing this world might be a sort of "loading zone" or buffer between dream states. I have lucid dreams almost nightly as well, and tend to "wake up" when I am in one of these locations: - the large department store in the middle of the second story of the mall (usually looking through clothes or wandering around when I realize I am dreaming/have been here before) - the huge hotel near the ocean, with a casino inside - the mountain range I find myself hiking on regularly - the beach on the coastal highway which curves around a mountain with colorful houses lining the beachfront Usually, when I "wake...

Are local open mics (or will they be) functioning as a secular alternative to religious communities like church?

1h ago

As a non-American, I envy Americans’ local open mic culture, because unlike Christians or other belief-based groups, secular people don’t get many chances to gather in one physical place and experience bonds: but for you guys, local bars are basically like Amazon warehouses replacing department stores And you can connect not on the basis of any belief or agenda, but just art, which is a universal human common pursuit, so you get to also encourage one another to be creative, which is in fact a fantastic thing I don’t know if this originated from the US per se, but it’s interesting for me because America is usually described as a dystopian capitalist machine, but this culture is like...

Need to vent a little bit

1h ago

I’m a cake decorator at my store and the only one they have. Since the new cake ordering system had been implemented, orders have been picking up. This Saturday I have 6 orders to do. As of now, at least. Who knows if I will get more between now and then. Because of the higher volume of orders, it’s going to be extremely hard to keep up with the displays too. Dessert case, self serve dessert case, and freezer. I’m only one person. If they end up being empty, oh well. I can’t do everything by myself. The department manager and assistant department manager claim they don’t know how to decorate cakes but I think that’s a load of ****. I don’t know what to do. There’s absolutely ...

Real Barbour or not?

Local store stocking problem

1h ago

Anyone else have this issue with their store? Whoever is in charge of ordering and restocking lets everything go empty, all at the same time, routinely. Today I was at the store and there were literally completely empty shelves in every single department. Want frozen veggies? Too bad! Want bread? Sorry! Want yogurt? Not today! Don’t even think about milk of ANY kind, or eggs. Need meat? Buy some livestock, I guess! This happens all the time at this location, so this is not winter weather related. You’d think ordering and restocking would be on a staggered schedule so they’re not out of everything, all at once.

Built AI SaaS product solo but reached a sing-up wall

1h ago

I'm looking for some advice from people who have some experience running SaaS products in AI space. I've spent last 10 months creating AI tools that works for internal knowledge. Chatbot but as a connector basically. Signs up on the website. Admin sets up the config. Openai API key, vector store, documents, system instructions for each department. Then other people from the same company without any registration just goes in Google/MS marketplaces and adds it to Google Chat or MS teams. Little friction, company control as much as possible etc. etc. This was built previously while I was still in my previous company, after leaving it I decided that it's not such a bad idea to m...

What on earth is Microsoft doing with the Microsoft Store app in the enterprise?

1h ago

Hello Out IT department is always running like hamsters to disable useless stuff in our environment that Microsoft enables by default. One of the things we block is the Microsoft Store app so that users won't install games or apps that haven't been subject to evaluation by our security team. Recently I have discovered that the Microsoft Store app gets updated automatically, and other that having a GUI window, it also has a command line! Here, have fun! [Microsoft Store App command line](https://preview.redd.it/jk7i58j68ihg1.png?width=800&format=png&auto=webp&s=a1d5d981d78a7c19ed77313d11ee043dc7b6704c) You might think that you need to be an administ...

What is making these romas look crazy different?

1h ago

I work at a grocery store and these are romas from two days in a row. The one on the left arrived Sunday, it’s huge, very pale, many from the batch were a pale pink/cream/green color mix. It was also not the palest of the batch, still had decent color compared to the others. One on the right arrived Monday. It is smaller, feels juicier, and much brighter. They came in the same packaging (which doesn’t mean a ton but often when we switch farms/companies/packagers the box changes). I would assume that they are from different crops or farms but just curious if y’all know what specifically would make them differ in this way? Is it the soil, sun, fertilizer? Mainly just curious, I work in t...

A young man leaves his friend's house to walk to a nearby grocery store- but he never arrived. What happened to Ben...

1h ago

At about 10:30 PM on February 9, 2008, 19-year-old Benjamin "Ben" Roseland left a house party at his friend's home on the 400 block of 10th Avenue South in his hometown of Clinton, Iowa to walk to the nearby Hy-Vee grocery store (900 block of S 4th St.) and buy snacks. According to Google maps, this walk would have taken just a few minutes. However, camera footage showed that Ben never arrived at the store, and has never been seen again. The only potential evidence left of him is a two shoes that were found apart from one another- the first in a vacant yard located at the corner of 13th Avenue South and 3rd Street (\~8 minute walk from the area he was last seen, in the oppos...

Actually good places to find watch deals that aren't sketchy dropshipping sites

1h ago

After getting burned twice by Instagram ads that shipped garbage from China, I finally figured out how to find legit watch deals. Here's what actually works. First, ignore anything advertising on social media unless you can find real reviews outside their own website. Most of those are just aliexpress watches marked up 400 percent. Second, look for sites that have been around for more than two years and have actual customer service phone numbers. If they only have email contact, that's a red flag. Third, check if the warranty is real. A lot of these budget brands offer warranties but good luck actually using them. Read the fine print about what's covered and how you'd ...

FBI Couldn’t Get into WaPo Reporter’s iPhone Because It Had Lockdown Mode Enabled

2h ago

The FBI has been unable to access a Washington Post reporter’s seized iPhone because it was in Lockdown Mode, a sometimes overlooked feature that makes iPhones broadly more secure, according to recently filed court records. The court record shows what devices and data the FBI was able to ultimately access, and which devices it could not, after raiding the home of the reporter, Hannah Natanson, in January as part of an investigation into leaks of classified information. It also provides rare insight into the apparent effectiveness of Lockdown Mode, or at least how effective it might be before the FBI may try other techniques to access the device. “Because the iPhone was in Lockdown mode...

Looking for a 1970s American wordless children’s book (purple cover, comic‑panel style, balloon-fish gag)

2h ago

Hi everyone, I’m trying to identify a wordless children’s book I had in the 1970s, likely bought in the US by a family member. It was **NOT** a typical picture book — it looked more like a **hardcover comic‑style gag book for kids**. Here’s everything I remember: # 📖 What was inside * Each page contained **one short gag** made of a few panels * **The ones I remember: Human characters only** (kids + adults) * Visual, slapstick humor # 🐟 Two scenes I clearly remember 1. **Balloon is blown out of the strip panel:** A child ***** up a fish-shaped balloon in a room where women are having tea, and grows into a huge balloon‑fish that doesn't fit in the panel anymore. 2...

How long do Pokémon News events last?

2h ago

I've been trawling through wikis and such but with no success. I know that Pokémon News gives you a 48-hour warning ahead of the event; how long does each event last once it starts? I've seen TV reports talk about it being the Blend Master's "last day", so presumably at least some of them last multiple days? In particular, the Lilycove department store clearance sale is my primary concern, although other events like outbreaks are also of interest.

Iconic Chicago History

2h ago

I snagged this tote off of FB Marketplace last night. I’m in love! Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, Marshall Field’s was our beloved and iconic luxury department store. I learned today from a colleague that Macy’s was giving these away during the holidays. I don’t care. I’ma enjoy my new bag.
