I'm also taking my internship sa government. I feel like my resume is too all over the place and won't land me opportunities. originally wanted to become a game dev but because of vibe coding, I developed an impostor syndrome; decided to pursue ITHD/Network Engineering instead. New Coworker struggling to adjust. Changing department?1h agoHey everyone, I got a job at ikea about 3 weeks ago and it’s been pretty miserable. I work in fulfilment and really struggling to adjust to the workload and coworkers. Should I approach a manager about potentially changing departments, or wait until I’ve been there longer? The store’s management team feel pretty approachable but worried they’ll just let me go because I’m so new How to tell if he's flirting or just being nice?1h agoThe biggest issue I have is that I moved from NY to TX a couple of years ago so to me everyone is super nice here.... One guy in particular I work with kinda. I am a cashier at a big box home improvement store and he now works in Tool Rental. He was a cashier previously which is why I kinda ignored him, I didn't want drama.. being that I no longer work in the same department I am kinda entertaining it. He would always ask about what I did for fun, I'm a boring guy (I'm in my late 40s and my job is cashier, it's shouldn't be a shock to hear that my life didn't turn out as planned 😁) I probably have depression which is why my motivation is nothing to do stuff... How badly did I overpay? $280 Huffy Calais1h agoI know I'm about to get roasted but hear me out on this one I was in the market for a new cruiser/beater bike to just have fun with. I already own a pretty decent low-end mountain bike (Rockhopper) but wanted to dedicate that one to the trails instead of riding it around. Someone not far from where I live has a massive used bike collection; practically any bike you want he probably has one or two in varying styles or conditions. I paid him a visit and looked at his options. He let me test ride a few and I ultimately liked this Huffy the best. I know a fair bit about bikes and while the name did raise a red flag, I assumed older Huffys (huffies?) like this weren't the worst as I k... Scripture Life: Sola fide and the Trinity are not found in the NT. Does that make the doctrine of Sola Scriptura false?1h ago**ANSWER** No, it doesn't. BOOM! Done. But you don't see it. So, separate it all, tear it all apart - - so you see each one - what to keep. What to throw away - and the answer is in the Word of God. It's in none else. Go home. **---------- ---------- ---------- ----------** Best first to define these terms, so everybody knows it’s the dictionary, agreed on definition - because, people or groups put their own definitions to them to mean what they think they mean. **Sola fide.** <definition> 1. {etymology} Latin. *Faith alone.* * **Origin:** *Protestant*. Meaning "faith alone," is a “doctrine” or established... Can't think of this movie2h agoOkay it sounds like Roofman but I swear it's not Roofman. It's a live action romcom kind of where a guy lives in a store that he might have been robbing? Maybe a Best Buy? I'm not sure some kind of department store. It's Christmas timed but he has a date with his love interest inside the store he's living in after it closes and the woman sleeps there over night. At some point in the third act I think there's a katana involved? Like he has a friend or associate who has a katana? I've scrubbed through Roofman and I'm like 80% sure that's not it. If it is Roofman or I'm combining multiple movies or something please let me know. This is driving m... Resurrecting a long-time unused marine diesel2h agoHowdy there Diesel fanatics I have an old (early 2000s) Volvo Penta D1-20 Marine Diesel engine attached to a large DC motor - fitted to be used as a very high output generator on a sailboat. The D1-20 is 0.76 Liter, 3 cylinder in-line, naturally aspirated engine. I bought it a while back from a university’s marine tech department for cheap. They claim it had never been installed nor run beyond initial testing. I was told it actually still has the factory oil in it, less than 50 hours on it. Visually it is in very good condition, it was stored indoors at the university, and the Penta green paint is still in great shape and not even chipping. My question for this sub is, beyond a basic o... If nobody goes shopping because of the steaming, how this can help your family problem?2h agoI am afraid of shopping now. I nearly order everything online. I don’t know other people, but I wonder if majority of the people do the same, I guess a lot of shops, supermarkets, hotels, department stores will close, there will be a lot of people unemployed. How can this help your family problem? Thinking about working at Sprouts (Deli)? Here’s my experience2h agoI currently work in the deli at one store, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone considering applying. First, I’ll say this—your experience may depend heavily on the specific store and management. I’ve only worked at one location, but multiple employees who transferred from other stores have told me they were surprised by how poorly things are run here and said their previous stores were completely different. So keep that in mind. That said, my experience has been very challenging. Support from core management is essentially nonexistent. All shifts are demanding, especially opening and closing, mostly due to understaffing. Opening shifts can start as early as 4... ECHO MINI SD CARD RECOMMENDATIONS3h agoI ordered Fiio Snowsky, also to be delivered within the day. What SD Card brands do you recommend since the majority of SD Cards in the online commerce platforms are fake. And checking on the other commerce app is authentic but Pricey, which cost 1,000 Pesos for 128GB. I'm considering whether the 127gb is enough or should i Maximize the 256 Max capacity of the Echo mini? or are the Fake SD cards enough? Any comments regarding this concern are appreciated OpenAI is not in a place of leverage to currently renegotiate any social contract with the public3h ago**If We’re the Product, These Are Our Terms of Service** The tech industry has operated for decades on the assumption that consumers will absorb whatever they’re given because they have no alternative. For the first time in the history of AI, that assumption is wrong. OpenAI in particular does not currently offer us anything that any other platform does not offer. Open weights models have caught up, and building an interface to store for ourselves is the easiest and cheapest it’s ever been. There are alternatives. The switching costs are low. And the companies that built their valuations on user engagement are discovering that engagement is not loyalty. It’s leverage, and it belongs... Strength-wise, how do you think the Dragon Sovereigns , Nibelung, the Moons, the Shades, and the HP compare to the HSR T...3h agoFor reference: \*\*The Four Shades\*\* : were created from the Primordial One the Four Great Rulers who serve the Heavenly Principles. They govern Life, Death, Time, and Space in teyvat. The Doctor: One wounded by a blade will die from blood loss or infection, and one who falls into a lake will drown in agony. The elderly wallow in solitude, and the solitary age faster. Eventually, new life is born, only to embark on the same path of suffering. The Doctor: These four divisions anchor the world and shackle those who live within it. Yet they themselves transcend its boundaries, squandering the power bestowed upon them by the heavens. . The Shades likely are the concepts they embody, as I... The Genius Hidden in Every Zip Tie Fix and Duct Tape Racing Stripe3h ago# What looks like automotive insanity often masks sophisticated engineering solutions born from necessity. Walk through any parking garage and you'll spot them. The Honda Civic with the zip tied front bumper. The pickup truck sporting a duct tape racing stripe that's clearly holding something together. The sedan with mismatched body panels that somehow still passes inspection. To most observers, these cars represent automotive desperation. To engineers who study innovation, they represent something far more valuable. Dr. Sarah Chen from Stanford Engineering has spent years researching what she calls "constraint driven innovation." Her work, published in the Journal of... Would Brenda and Eddie have gotten divorced if they hadn’t bought the water bed and Sears paintings?3h agoIn William’s song “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” a relationship between one “Eddie” and “Brenda” is described as quite tumultuous. Throughout the narrative of the song these two people get married and used the marital funds to splurge on paintings from American department store Sears and a large water bed with their savings. (A big waterbed they had bought with the bread they had saved for a couple of years) The change in narrative later on in the song, however, is that these two begin to get into altercations due to financial strain (they started to fight when the money got tight). Ultimately, this couple divorces and goes their separate ways. It must be said that financ... 2 hour+ trying to activate a phone number—any ideas what the issue is?4h agoSo I tried activating a phone number in store with an eSim, then tried doing a physical SIM. Both wouldn’t save. Called our support line and was bounced around 5 different reps within 3 different departments. No one could get this customer’s phone number activated. We checked the IMEI, no issue. Account was active and no SIM blocks on the number. Had tech support reps reach out to a supervisor for further review. Had an agent suspend the line and restore it. We even tried activating the number through the T-Life app. The 4^(th) agent made a ticket for the engineering team to look at. In all the years I’ve worked here I have never seen this crazy of an issue simply getting a phone num... She was a pianist in the Bloomingdales department store back in Illinois circa 1940's. She was later discovered by Bea Arthur and, soon after, a family on vacation from Switzerland. Mary Jane, my grandmother, was playing piano for the stars. Eventually I entered the picture, and she imparted several lessons on me, not the least of which were piano lessons. From there, my parents bought me a French horn and enrolled me in music classes. It helped that my step-dad occupied the seat of Music Superintendent for the district of Riverside County, so, I had public school lessons by day, and pri... The Levine Family were only in Wadesboro for less than 4 days. The family actually lived in Rockingham NC but the town of Rockingham had no hospital at that time. Leon founded the Family Dollar chain of discount stores. The family ran a small town store called The Hub Department Store on South Lee Street in downtown Rockingham. His brother Sherman and his mother ran the Hub until it closed in 1960. In 1949, when Leon Levine was 12, his father died from a heart attack.
