Lafayette does not have their Flock Surveillance usage and policies publicly available

2h ago

West Lafayette's policies seem reasonable enough, without a public policy, how are we supposed to know if the Lafayette PD is using these cameras lawfully? In any case, both departments should make ALL information publicly available https://transparency.flocksafety.com/lafayette-pd-in

The Forest is Losing Its Roots: How Chain Stores Are Reshaping Forest Hills

3h ago

This article touches on something I keep seeing—more chains that everyone complains about but they're always full. If we don't want more chains, we need to stop spending our money there, it's that simple. For those who don't want to click: >A deeper dive into the changing retail environment in Forest Hills, where it seems that chains are taking over and pushing smaller retailers out. >Despite being a part of the city that “never sleeps,” Forest Hills, a smaller neighborhood in Queens, is almost the exact opposite. Inside the suburb of Forest Hills, life is quiet, peaceful, and serene. The rustling of leaves under one’s feet and the song of birds ...

Have you worked at Kroger Fuel and had similar experiences? How did you deal with them?

3h ago

I've been a Fuel attendant for a little over 4 years now. (I'm 29 AFAB) My location has a CONSTANT stream of Managers like a revolving door (initially it was 1 to 2 years, now it's every 3 months) Every time we get a new upper manager. We are gaslit at the FC and told our problems aren't valid. We aren't even given proper bathroom breaks. I've spoken to my Union Rep on Numerous occasions And met with nothing. I've been sexually harassed and discriminated against by customers. Slurs have been hurled at me for doing my job and even A manager we recently Got "transferred" to another store for Abuse of his power, threatened to fire me over using the...

I was a nurse, once.

3h ago

The old woman flailed in the snow, like a fish upon the deck of my grandfather’s boat, and I watched her.  She did not cry out.  The neurons for speech had degenerated long before I began working there.  At the time, I felt nothing, save for the fascination that a human being, reduced to its most primal end state, was so much like a fish.  What beauty there was in her movements.  It was nearly holy. “Meredith!”  A voice from the hallway.  My reverie broken. “Judith got out, I’m sorry, she got out!”  Fear gripped me.  Fear of interruption.  Fear of the administrative consequence of my transgression.  Fear that God’s revelation, as presented, would be taken away.  F...

1.5 Months in and Throwing in the Towel

3h ago

I started at Wawa because they were the only job to ever call me back and then offer me a position. CSA $18/hour. I’m a hard worker let me tell you. So I wasn’t one of the people getting paid that to stand around, they already had me running the hot foods table, trained in the entire store, manager told me she wanted to promote me when I was still part time. As everyone slowly talked me into the ESOP and Vacation Weeks, and I saw my manager desperate for help I couldn’t help but offer my name in the bucket for full time. I didn’t think they were that desperate but they said yes instantly and that should have been a red flag. I put my name in for Lead CSA. The interview was tomo...

NSA/SGI-USA's 1972 membership stats - and their dire implications for the Ikeda cult in the USA today

3h ago

These charts come from near the end of the "NSA 1972 Photo Album" I've been presenting images and information from (see [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/sgiwhistleblowers/comments/1qc6b9w/those_goddamn_cow_costumes/) and [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/sgiwhistleblowers/comments/1qhapgb/a_special_treat_for_all_the_good_little/) and [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/sgiwhistleblowers/comments/1qhfbnq/from_the_1972_los_angeles_convention_it_floatsit/)). These three charts certainly speak volumes. The bar chart starts at 1960, when the Ikeda cult organization in the USA, then known as "NSA" (now SGI-USA) was officially made a Chapter - I think Ikeda declared it a Chapter ...

Second package arrived opened when delivered - AE doesn’t care and won’t replace or credit. 😡😡😡

4h ago

I’m posting to see if anyone else has dealt with this recently, because I’m honestly appalled. For the second time in a few months, I received an American Eagle package that arrived opened with items missing. The first time (last month), only a T-shirt was missing (11 total items in order). It was a $15 item, and they replaced it after a complex 45+ minute phone call to customer service - irritating but they handled it! Fast forward to today - I ordered two pajama sets and received only the top from one set and only the bottoms from the other. Not a complete set. Completely unusable. When I contacted customer service and escalated to a supervisor, I was told… \* They would not in...

Trailer Park Film Roll

4h ago

My mother was always tight-lipped whenever I asked about my father, sometimes ignoring me entirely.  She also drank heavily, guzzling cheap whiskey she kept under her bed.  She yelled at me once to never enter her room, “Never go in there, Sandra!” She thought she could hide it, but I could smell her coming a mile away. *“Where is my father?”* I asked this question many times, never getting a real answer. Sometimes mom simply walked away, but there wasn’t anywhere to hide in this trailer park. *You’re gonna tell me what happened to dad one day, old lady.* I researched county records, but my father’s name was not listed anywhere.  Maybe he was a drifter, it was the earl...

[MEGATHREAD] Raleigh Snow Storm 1/23-1/25/26

4h ago

We've had a few requests to try and make a MEGATHREAD with relevant information pertaining to the snow storm we are scheduled to get this weekend. # What Should I Buy to Prepare? Ideally shelf-stable foods. Or the classic 'Eggs, Bread, and Milk' if you want to make some french toast or something? Realistically, I see it generally recommended to grab stuff that doesn't need to be heated and can be eaten cold/room temp in the scenario that your power goes out. (Assuming you don't have a camping stove/gas stove.) If your stuff requires chilling, you can generally put it outside or in a garage (assuming uninsulated) to keep it chilled. I always stock up on some bread...

I doubt anyone is going to read this but i need advice

I’ve brought my Asus strix g533qs for a service, the guy used paste instead of liquid metal because he didn’t have silicone, still didn’t resolve my over heating issue, i return for a second time only to receive this message, could the pc repair shop be liable in any sort of way considering I’ve never had issues with my display within 4 years of owner ship

Lab organization and storage opportunity for facility move

4h ago

Hi all, I work in the EE department in a small company for the last 15 years. The company has been active in product development and manufacturing of those products of the same ilk for the last 50 years. As engineers we accumulate a lot overtime and fear of throwing anything out incase we need it (our products stand the test of time and our supported for decades with incremental and as needed improvements and changes). Anyway, we are moving this summer and have the opportunity to freshen up our organization and storage and am looking for ideas. In our current facility, we do a lot of development at our desks as well as in our lab. As stated, we are small, and sometimes development project...

Chemist warehouse fragrances

What's the deal with chemist warehouse fragrances? Their prices are significantly cheaper than department stores, and I'm just wondering what the catch is?

Grew up working in my mom’s kiddies store and I’m still helping grow the business years later

5h ago

I spent most of my childhood in my mom’s kiddies store. I wasn’t just hanging around, I was a salesperson, and a paid one. I also somehow became the unofficial research department because the adults figured a kid would know what other kids actually liked. As I got older, I started suggesting ways we could expand. I proposed a setup team for parties and events, then later a separate rental arm. Some ideas worked, some didn’t, but the process taught me how to spot opportunities and think in terms of systems, not just sales. Even after moving out, I’m still heavily involved in decisions. My mom trusts my judgment, so I’m always scanning for additions that could increase revenue or a...

Confusion about things after exchanging socials with a coworker

5h ago

I work at a grocery store and started noticing a coworker a few months ago. We’re in different departments and the store is usually very busy, so at first there was no interaction beyond passing by each other. One day I told her she was beautiful. She smiled, sounded flustered/giddy when she thanked me, and didn’t seem uncomfortable. After that, things changed with more eye contact, smiles, and acknowledging each other with smiles and such when we crossed paths. None of that was happening before. Because work is hectic, we never really had time to talk. Eventually I asked her name because I forgot to ask it so I went right up to her and asked and introduced myself formally. About a mon...
