Was keeping an eye on the usual free pile areas around my neighborhood because I wanted a pair of jeans for scrap denim for patches. Wound up with a new machine to do the patching with! Had to clean a shitton of lint and gunk out of the bobbin assembly, and I plan to do a more thorough cleaning and oiling before attempting any major projects, but it is currently functional and sewing well. I used to own a low-end department store branded vintage machine that looked cool but wasn't great to sew with. Very stoked to have another beautiful price of mid century engineering with such a good reputation for performance and reliability.

The scams are still very real and have gotten more sophisticated than ever. They're targeting all tourists, including Chinese tourists. I matched with 3 girls and all 3 of them were scammers. I called them out when they said they wanted to meet at Young'An Department Store and two of them unmatched right away. The third said she was here on business and took offense to me calling her a scammer. Being an *****, I met her at a 5 star hotel called The One and then walked to a nearby bar on Beijing Road. F-Zero was probably the first SNES game I ever saw. I was out in town with my mom when I was a kid. There was a restaurant on the top floor of a department store, along with a kids’ play area, and there was an SNES demo station where you could play F-Zero. I was completely blown away and desperately wanted my own console after that, and eventually my parents surprised me with an SNES. I've got more than enough thrillers to read, but I find that I need something light that can distract me after a thriller. I just took a break and finished Butter, Sugar, Magic by Jessica Rosenberg and The Chocolate Lovers Club by Carole Matthews, but I don't have many cozy books to read. I prefer books that aren't super high fantasy. I liked Butter, Sugar, Magic because it was still a bit more realistic, but I do enjoy fantasy. The Dallergut Dream Department Store is on my tbr. The Chocolate Lovers Club was fun, I liked just following random stories and I think this is the first book I've read like that.
