I had to change my bus route away from Industrial Boulevard3h agoMy route was set. Every day I drove the same roads, picking up the same passengers, continuing on my same monotonous routine. I drive a city bus in a certain languid, boring city in the Southern US. I know most of my passengers by name. I pick them up in the morning at the start of my shift, and pick them up again to take them home near the end. Occasionally I have unusual encounters: loud, obnoxious passengers; sketchy individuals; drunks that leave a pile of vomit to be cleaned later. However, there was one encounter that would change the course of my life. It was around this time last year, mid January, when I first started picking up this strange woman. I never got her name, she wasn... I got cucked by the gas pump 😔4h agoThe Bella Small Satchel!4h agoWent to Macys yesterday after work to return one Coach bag and ended up with another! 🙄 This little bag spoke to me on the sale display though! I was actually leaving the store and went back to check the price ($177!) Something about the dark stone color and pebbled leather! And it was all slouchy on the display shelf. I think this is a Macy’s or department store style. The Bella shoulder bag is popular (like the Lori) but nothing much about this one online and nothing here. Saw a couple TikToks. Found an old link to the outlet. Anyway, love the little details for such an inexpensive bag (included photos of metal detail on the handles). My coffee shop pouch and LV medium key pouch (same... Self-promotion Thread4h agoUse this thread to promote yourself and/or your work! (Descriptions of fictional crimes investigated by the story's main Character Max.) Detective's Fate It's august of 2008..... Max is a detective living in Chicago He checks his pistol and puts on his police badge as he walks out his front door. He has been searching for a serial killer known as the Caller for years and always been one step behind due to the red tape..... More importantly the chief's lazy attitude towards getting search warrants and actions approved by the courts for raids. Twice Max had good intel on the suspect's locations and photo evidence showing him at the sites. The department needs mo... GF being harassed at work4h agoLocation: Virginia Hi, all. My gf has been repeatedly harassed by a coworker and management is useless. The guy found her on social media and started messaging her in the middle of the night, has approached her in the parking lot several times and stares at her from across the store almost daily despite her repeated requests for him to leave her alone. There are other instances but the point is, he has gone out of his way many times to make her uncomfortable and has admitted that to other employees. He has been barred from entering the department that she works in and has a documented background of harassment against other female employees. It’s to the point that the women who work... California Kratom Ban4h agoApparently California is banning Kratom?? I had multiple retailers tell me they are banning the feel free/zana drinks when I went to purchase some recently and that they would not be carrying them anymore. Im having a hard time finding any information besides an article from the ABC, CDPH, and a random city news article. Either way I really hope this is true because this past year has been **** for me with these bottles. One article I read appears to mention all kratom products while some focus more on the stronger 7-Oh products? Im really glad that at the least some of my go to spots will not be carrying these anymore. It'll be so much easier to abstain from these devil drink with a s... What to do4h agoSo i’m an appliance specialist and I just started the last week of april. Since i’ve been here i’ve noticed insane things with other specialists and ds. As you all know appliances sph is the highest and to even make full bonus is nearly impossible. I average around $100,000 in sales every month and only made my lowest bonus 4 times since starting. I have to make at least $200,000 to even make my full $1400. well since the storm, it’s been super busy selling generators and they average around $1000 a ticket. I just found out that some ds’s have been selling them under one specialists name only. even when they’re not on the clock or even scheduled. one week they took a vacation but... Goings on in the off-season4h agoThe route 50 bridge is closed for 2 weeks to all traffic as they replace the infrastructure to the draw spans. Anthony's is getting another lease on life. The good truck for Coastal Catering has been parked there for months, I am not certain if they bought it and if it will remain with the Anthony's name. The Worcester and Caroline Street boardwalk bathrooms are getting a major overhaul. Guido's Burritos near 33rd Street on Coastal Hwy is getting a major remodel. There's a new Indian restaurant on Philadelphia Ave by 22nd Street, bayside. Rose's department store is getting demolished, I believe townhomes are going there. And the inlet lot is getting new light poles a... From 7 Amcorp flea sellers & 1 department store5h agoPreserving Ancient Wisdom: Manuscripts on Science and Technology in Kerala5h agoKerala, a southern state in India, has long been a cradle of intellectual pursuit, particularly in the realms of science and technology as documented in ancient Sanskrit texts. The article by K.V. Sarma explores the quest for early manuscripts and collections that deal with these subjects, forming part of a larger project to inventory oriental institutes in Kerala and Tamilnadu. This endeavor aims to survey scientific texts preserved or produced in these regions, highlighting Kerala's unique contributions. From astronomy to medicine, these manuscripts encapsulate centuries of knowledge, often inscribed on palm leaves, a medium that has withstood time despite environmental challenges... Weather/Labor Adjustments = Burnout (and OT is not the fix)5h agoI’m honestly just exhausted and wanted to see if this is happening elsewhere. We’re getting slammed because of inclement weather, and store hours aren’t being adjusted at all/in a timely manner. Same open/close times, same labor, way more volume. The result isn’t efficiency, it’s chaos. People are getting shuffled mid-production, corners getting cut, and associates absorbing the stress of decisions that don’t match reality on the floor. When weather clearly changes customer behavior, keeping normal hours while refusing to adjust staffing just pushes the strain onto departments. The work doesn’t disappear, it just stacks up on fewer people for longer stretches. What really ge... How to Get a Girlfriend: A Comprehensive, Peer-Reviewed, Academically Essay5h ago# Abstract The question “How do I get a girlfriend?” has appeared on r/teenagers with such frequency that it may soon be classified as a recurring natural disaster. This essay seeks to compile existing research, anecdotal evidence, Reddit comments, and pure delusion in order to establish a definitive answer. Through extensive observation (watching couples at the mall) and rigorous experimentation (texting “hey” and waiting), this paper concludes that getting a girlfriend is not a skill issue, but a complex interaction of confidence, hygiene, timing, and luck. Also vibes. Name: u/Waldorf__Astoria Instructor: r/teenagers English Department Course: Romantic Studies (Honors) Date... Department transfer6h agoJust want some simple advice on how I could transfer departments. I've been a cashier but been working as a bagger for a couple months, recently been put as a cashier again when I haven't been allowed to be on a register. Should I ask HR or store manager? Was supposed to be here on the 21… am I screwed?6h agoWhat makes a perfume smell “perfumey”6h agoYou know that nondescript, but powerful, blast of fragrance you get when you walk into the cosmetics section of a department store? Or how your mom’s dusty, decade-old bottles of perfumes in the 90s smelled? Not particularly floral, or powdery, citrusy, or gourmand - just very strong, unidentifiable, and artificial? It’s hard for me to describe, but the fragrance “Charlie” is kind of what I mean. I remember my mom’s Trésor was like this too. What makes a perfume smell strong, “perfumey,” but not like anything we can recognize from the real world? I feel like fewer popular fragrances these days have that quality. B2B Ecommerce in 2026: Why Manufacturers Are Finally Ditching Their Outdated Sales Models6h agohttps://preview.redd.it/y64ilsr3sbfg1.png?width=1430&format=png&auto=webp&s=ba8d11b63b403a04abfacda830f6737743ab761f The B2B ecommerce market is projected to reach $36 trillion by 2026, yet the majority of manufacturers, wholesalers, and distributors are still processing orders through phone calls, PDFs, and email chains. This isn't just inefficient—it's existentially threatening as a new generation of B2B buyers demands the same digital experiences they get as consumers. According to recent research, 80% of B2B sales will be generated digitally by the end of 2025, up from just 13% in 2019. This seismic shift isn't driven by technology trends—it... Need help lighting pilot for Grand Canyon gas log fireplace6h agoI have watched all kinds of videos, but none of them are my exact setup. Everything I see has a knob you turn and push in the light the pilot, but mine doesn’t have that. I have changed the batteries in the remote and in the receiver, but it still doesn’t do anything. I put it in pairing mode and held down on the “on” button until I saw a little symbol pop up that looked like WiFi, so I assume that meant it connected. I’m at a loss. The gas is turned on in the floor, and I did turn that on when I was trying to use the remote to turn it on, but I only had it on for a minute or two. Maybe I was being impatient. I bought this house less than a year ago, and it worked during the home... As ICE arrests surged, Trump administration sought to cut bodycam program6h agoThe Trump administration proposed massive cuts to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s body camera program for this fiscal year as officers surged into U.S. cities to arrest immigrants, calling into question the agency’s commitment to deploying cameras. In its initial budget proposal, the Department of Homeland Security said it planned to slash the body camera program’s 22-person staff to three employees and reduce spending on the initiative from about $20.5 million to $5.5 million. Officials instead proposed “sustaining” the cameras ICE had last year to devote more resources to “frontline operations.” A string of violent incidents involving federal immigration officers — ... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
