Towne Center Mall fatality

6h ago

Shooting at Town Center Mall A family member and I were at the Towne Center Mall and when we walked out there was about 20 cop cars and 1 fire truck. The police were taping off majority of the lot and taping the parked cars in. According to a Facebook live, a worker in the mall (could be a security officer)was on his lunch break and saw 3 white police officers shoot a black man 6-8 times. The shooting was fatal and they tried doing cpr on him for longer than 15 minutes to revive him. I could be mistaken but it’s seems the ambulance did not arrive until 30 minutes later. At one point in the live, the man says he received a message from the mall saying the man didn’t pay a ticket. There...

Judge rules on AM&A's ownership

7h ago

After a six-year legal fight, State Supreme Court Justice John Licata has answered one of the most heated questions in Buffalo real estate: who owns the AM&A's building? The answer, unsurprisingly, is complicated. 377 Main Realty LLC — the company that has claimed to own the long-vacant department store since 2020 — essentially remains in control. Though Licata's decision voids 377 Main Realty's purchase of the property, it grants the company control of the building's actual owner. In 2014, Landco H&L bought the AM&A's property for $2.8 million. Landco was fully controlled by a woman named Li Li. In 2015, Li sold her shares in Landco to...

**The Quarry's Throat** **A Gory, Psychological Thriller**   **In 1967, near a rural outskirt of Springfield, Missouri** Chapter 1: The Follow The afternoon I followed that cocky seventeen-year-old past the rusted NO TRESPASSING sign and into the damp black throat of the old limestone quarry cave—him laughing about chasing some thrill for his scrapbook while his flashlight beam bounced off the walls—I already had the heavy rock tucked in my jacket pocket and a quiet, steady certainty that he wasn’t coming back out alive. His name was Tyler. Blue jeans, rolled-up sleeves on a plaid shirt, the kind of kid who thought the world owed him a fast car and a good time. I’d seen ...

Just Wondering Around GitHub, Looking for a Software Fix

As someone who devotes a lot of time to online communities, racking up a few Internet points always feels good. I used to be slightly intimidated by GitHub. For the most part, it's full of indie apps by individual devs, so there isn't a marketing department designing websites and writing copy. It's just the same dude who coded the app you want to try. If you spend time looking around, you find that G...

[Legacy of the Dark Knight] What is this a reference to?

7h ago

This... Raccoon? Kangaroo? Bandicoot? Head is obviously a reference to something. It's behind some boxes and is lit up and can be found during the Shreck Department Store mission, near a Wayne Tech cache. Any idea what it's supposed to be referencing?

[CHAT] planning my first project on clothing, and need some advice

8h ago

hi all! i've seen some pretty amazing projects on this sub of cross stitch done on clothing. i have 2 different patterns i am considering to stitch on the back of my vintage jean jacket. one pattern is 12x17 on 14 count, and the other is 11.5x14.5 on 14 count. my jean jacket is pretty thick, it is a real denim jacket rather than one of those thin cheaper ones you might find at a department store. i am looking to pick one pattern and just haven't decided which yet. EDIT TO ADD: these are NOT full coverage pieces. i've never cross stitched onto clothing (or onto anything other than regular ol' 14 count DMC aida) so i'm looking for some advice. 1. will i reasonably...

Back with Bear. The best decision if you want to be productive!

8h ago

I have rediscovered Bear and I’m so happy that I did. I was a version 1.x Bear user years ago, it was fine, but the markdown formatting always felt intrusive. There were also too many little misses that made me consider alternatives. That started me on a multiyear journey. I used Apple Notes the most. It was built-in, great multi-device support, but export capabilities were very weak. Apple Notes was really weak at linking notes and folder organization is not my first choice. Folder hierarchies seem fine at first, but quickly become inflexible. Apple Notes is also just not as pretty as it could be. If I’m staring at software for hours a day, I want it to be beautiful. I then we...

Economic solutions then and now

8h ago

Growing up in Western Pennsylvania, arguably the buckle of the rust belt, the economy suffered greatly in the '70s/80s due to the decrease in domestic steel production. Here is a few of the solutions that I remember from childhood that helped families make ends meet. Generics! Generic products popped up everywhere. Plain white labels with black lettering. Nothing fancy. I even remember seeing generic beer from that era. The potato chips were amazing. Gabe's! The business model of this clothing store was to buy seconds and Mis cut or sewn items on the cheap, and sell them cheap. It actually bloomed into a chain of stores locally, and then divided into Gabe's and Gabriel Bro...

USPS corruption uncovered

8h ago

A long time ago go I ****** over a PBD coo. This resulted in year’s of police harassment. Every year more and more people joined them on trying to frame me to be mentally unstable. I have collected evidence for the last 5 year’s. I am a postal employee in Bremerton. The Postal Police even joined this group. At this point the had already somehow established a communication device in my ear. Now I can hear them in both ear’s. They can adjust the volume of their voices even. I could hear it in the Verizon store in SILVERDALE the best. Now I can hear them in my furnace duct. As if the put a speaker of some kind. The postal police legitimately investigated me for a year due to a call from a...

Aestuarium Sanctorum or The Story of a Dying Man in the Crescent Isles PART TWO (Book One Chapters 5-8)

8h ago

**V** The crescent Isles are a geographical anomaly that you have no doubt heard of, but in the aftermath of the following events you are convinced you haven’t. Once the same screensaver fodder as the pyramids or the Northern Lights or the great chasm of Northern France, it has been thoroughly erased from all of history and even your own memory.  They existed off the coast of Georgia near the Florida border, nearly a dozen miles off-shore. They are not islands in the way we would normally imagine them, and certainly not something that is congruent with the ecology of the Southeast or Atlantic Ocean. While I may work for the EPA my area of expertise is not in fauna, fault lines, or geog...

She called the police because I stop to clean the bathroom.

8h ago

For context, this is a new front end lead, she only worked for the company two years, and has been transferred to 5 different stores. She told me and the other department heads she use to manage a Denny's. But found out she worked as waiter there. My front end leads called me to the office to complain I stopped pushing carts to clean the restrooms. I said, but lady I am the head of the porter department. And yes you might have scheduled me as a cart guy. But if the restrooms are gross, I have to clean them. She then responded by calling the manager to the office and proceeded to try and tell me I can be fired for not doing what she wanted me to. The Manager and I looked at each other....

ISO Coach Essential Card Holder Wallet in Loved Leather

Missed the drop on the Coach website, and it's now sold out. Has anyone spotted it at a Coach outlet, department store, or any other retailer? Also wondering if Coach will restock these or if it's a one-and-done release. Any tips are appreciated!

Store Favoritism Issues

8h ago

Hey guys, my wife is a service desk rep at Home Depot, and she’s vented to me about some issues that I’d like to know if they’re common at Home Depot or not. When she was first hired on, she had applied to be a PASA associate, basically from what I understand a kind of coordinator with pro business accounts, and the manager that interviewed her said that she seemed like an amazing fit for the job, however, he said he was moving to another store and didn’t want to hire her, otherwise she would be “his hire” instead of the new managers hire. Right off the bat, why on earth does that matter? A job is a job, if you’re qualified who cares who hired you?! But anyways, after that sh...

Tired of management blaming cashiers for everything

9h ago

Cashiers are treated the worst, paid the least, have more responsibilities and are expected to not make any errors. I’m not sure if this is a common experience for all cashiers, but I’m getting so tired of every issues being a cashiers fault. I work in a department store, about 1/4 the size of an average Walmart. We only have one cashier at a time, with 1 merchandiser, 1 manager and sometimes the assistant manager. Most of the time I’m completely alone on the floor because the 2-3 of them are in the back sorting stock or “doing office work” Every single time an issues comes up it’s the cashiers fault. “Why wasn’t clothing tidied up? Why weren’t the floors swept? Why w...

Our prices aren't the lowest 😂

Maybe it's the Aldi effect, and no it's not Greek (they don't carry their own), but it's the same oz. and same price at Giant. And there are many more employees and actual dedicated departments at this store chain. Aldi is no longer /////////AHEAD. it's got me thinking 🤔 about ||||||LEAVING.

Guys, making a documentary on game piracy, how is it looking? (not yet finished, done till half of 2026)

Please tell the mistakes in this and correction i can do... btw are mkdev, kirigiri and denuvowo related to each other somehow? (other than their field of expertise) **The Unauthorized History of Cracking** *From floppy disk duplication in garages to billion-dollar DRM wars — the complete record of the warez underground*   **When copying was sharing** Software piracy didn't begin with malice. In the late 1970s, when the Apple II and early home computers arrived, software was shared the same way recipes were — person to person, freely. The concept of software as a locked commercial product barely existed. Users copied floppy disks with the machine's own drives, tra...
