So long story short, I'm one of the 'backbone' TMs in my department. Could be a lead if the position opened up. (If you ask my team, should've been the TL but got passed over for a transfer-in). APTL wants me. I want consistent hours because this is my job job and I can't pay my bills consistently. I love my store and I'd stay here if I could, but I'm on Indeed out of necessity because neither of my TLs seem keen on promoting/transferring/quitting. I’ve been recently promoted to the animal care manager position (who knows what they are calling it now) and I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed. I have a big desire to improve my departments and animal care, but I was wondering if there’s a good resource for me to use as to what my priorities/responsibilities are. I’ve been using knowledge base as stuff comes up, but I find that it’s only helpful for very specific things and not the broader role/responsibilities. I got approval from my DGM today to move my ball pythons over to eco earth which I’m really happy about, and I’m hoping to make similar improvements around the store.

I am a new team lead in digital and I want to find something to help my associates increase their pick rate. Our 5-2 associates pick huge amounts. One associate has picked 1000 items in a day they’re also picking almost 6.5 hrs but our evening crew pick about 200 items. I do understand that 5-2 have more to pick because after 7 or 730 there are no more picks but we almost always have to ask for store help in the evening I just want to try to get their pick rate up without hounding them so we can be self sufficient and not reliant on other departments .

Our department went most of the year without a supervisor or ASM, so a lot of the day-to-day stuff fell on whoever actually cared enough to keep things running. I had good sales, helped keep the department functioning, and we were the only department in the store that beat its sales target. In February 2026 alone the RAC attended 6,290 pothole-related breakdowns. That is 217 every single day. The month before, Britain recorded the wettest winter since 1836 in some parts of the country.
