The last few days I helped out in grocery because they always have callouts. Typically I get scheduled up in customer service, but after I did grocery, I’ve started to realize I don’t like customer service that much. I love talking to customers, helping them with cart service, working at the front desk to resolve problems, etc, but grocery felt like such a nice break for me. I work at a grocery store. A couple of years ago, my coworker in the electronics department pointed out a TV with a big discount. It was originally around $800 but it was marked down to $250. My job occasionally gives us point rewards, and I had $200 worth of those rewards saved up (which you have to pay 25% tax on, so technically I had $150 in rewards in exchange for $50 taken off my check). So for a little bit of context, I have been in my department for 6 years and with the company for 7 later this September. I have been in bakery since summer of 2020 ( yikes). My department manager just retired earlier this year, congrats to him I miss him a ton, and our cake decorator took over his position and is now the bakery manager.
