You can start with street food and market vibes in Tsukiji, then walk over to Ginza for cafes, shopping, department stores, and a more polished side of Tokyo. What I like about this area is the contrast. Tsukiji feels more local and everyday, while Ginza shows Tokyo's elegant side. Together,... [MF] I started this as a first chapter, then I hit a brick wall. Can this stand as a short story?8h ago**Four Seconds in April** Kevin had been sitting in his car, in the parking lot, long enough for it to become a place. Not a car anymore, but a small, beige, depreciating room with vents that rattled, old coffee stains and candy wrappers huddled in the cupholder, and one middle-aged man slowly converting oxygen into regret. The place was getting hot again. The engine was on and the air conditioning was fighting hard to stay useful. Sweat had gathered under his chest, behind his ears, and at the backs of his knees, which seemed unnecessary, and he sat with his eyes closed, head back, letting the part of him that wanted to go inside argue with the part that already knew the route to Portillo... ai spill detection8h agoour store recently started using our cameras to detect spills and objects on the floors and it creates a note for the department it’s in what do you think of this 💔 Chinese brands in Shanghai?9h agoHi, my aunt is in Shanghai rn and I really want to try one of their local tea scents. I really like Le Labo's Matcha 26 but want a tea scent with a different profile sana. Please recommend some Chinese brands na available in malls/department stores in Shanghai na less than 5k if possible. Thanks! When to come out at work?10h agoI've been on T for a bit over 2 months, I still present as a girl/non-binary at work (I've used my preferred name since I started). I'm starting to get noticeable T changes, namely my voice is a little deeper and cracking an embarrassing amount, but no one has noticed/mentioned it to me (besides random customers calling me sir). I work at a grocery store and my department especially has an insanely high turnover rate, so who I work with right now might not be the same people I'm working with in a few months from now. We're in a fairly progressive area, there used to be another trans guy at work who was always respected, but I don't know how many people even kne... Silver Cross Wave 310h agoDoes anyone know if Nordstrom or any other department stores have the silver cross wave 3 on the floor to test out? I looked at the locations near me and none have any in stock at the store to purchase but I wasn’t sure if that meant they also don’t have it on the floor, or if it’s just one of those that isn’t carried in store. Looking at our options for doubles and I’m not a huge fan of side by sides because I don’t want to worry about not fitting in aisles at the stores. Availability, Overtime, and Your Rights11h agoThis is in relation and response to some of the trending issues with the company right now, not that it's new, but it's getting more prevalent, more obvious, more extreme. And it's wrong. I recently left the company and had been a department manager. I did my best to do right by my team members, I knew all of their availabilities, I knew some of the struggles they faced that they were comfortable sharing with me, and I advocated for them to the SD, and I kicked *** doing it, but it cost me a lot. I kept asking for more people with availabilities that actually matched the department and he kept saying they were in training or that more people were being crosstrained, or other ... Haven’t been terminated after quitting11h agoMy store reminded me quite frequently how much they appreciated me and the work that I do, and how I help my older coworkers out when they need it. I walked out the other day due to some stress and other personal problems, telling them that I quit. One of the managers tried getting me to stay, asking me if I wanted to switch departments instead and I told her no, I just wanted to quit. I clocked out and walked home. 4 days go by, and no termination has taken place. Is this normal? I’m thinking they’re waiting for me to come back in when I need to grab groceries, and talk to me before firing me. Does anyone have any clue as to why they haven’t terminated me yet? July Itinerary Review11h agoHi all - our family (45M, 43F, 18 yr old son, 11 yr old daughter) is planning our first trip to Ireland July 3-10. We have put together a rough itinerary. Appreciate any and all comments and suggestions. We are planning to have a car the duration of the trip. Would like to do a puffin tour. That seems to be best on the west coast but happy to be corrected. Places listed for July 3 and July 4 are just a list - not set in stone what we are doing those days. Wife has traced her family ancestry back to Roscommon. Not sure what there is to see/do there but at least want to visit city as we drive back to Dublin. **Friday – July 3** Arrive Dublin 10:00am Friday, July 3 Dublin sightseein... 🟧 NEW Fun Pad Origami, Color-by-Number Dot-to-Dot 160 pages book Vintage 1970's11h ago# [https://www.ebay.com/itm/227330099471](https://www.ebay.com/itm/227330099471) # Fun Pad (vintage 1970's) # Original sticker price of 2/$1.00 from Woolworths # softcover activity book (never used!) * I am the original owner of this fun pad but I never used it. * Purchased in the early 1970's from Woolworth's department store in SD * includes 160 pages (stitch-a-story, dot-to-dot, color-by-number, and origami paper folding activities) * UNUSED Copy of this hard-to-find edition! The House That Hungers Part:111h agoDavid Altrick, a man desperately trying to escape his past, arrived in the southern town of Morrow under a sky the color of sifted dust as a country song about forgiveness drifted from the radio, its hollow chorus echoing a faith he could not claim. He was not fleeing the law, but the careful geometry of his hands, each finger a tally of small violences, every decision a quiet theft from another’s life. Restlessness pressed behind his ribs, a need for escape brewed in his chest, and he longed for a place that would not demand answers. Mrs. Hargreeve, the local real estate agent, waiting at the gated entrance to David’s newly purchased property, pressed the keys into the palm of his hand... one/size graphics ****11h agodoes anyone else have this problem at their store?? whenever one/size has a set i want to just clock out and go home 💀 my store is in a kohl’s and we have a 2bay for them and the recent set for the oil sucker setting spray was AWFUL. not only multiple product moves but a lot of the needed components were MISSING and the planogram made ZERO sense. there was a little bit of spillover in problems from our retrofit set from them as well, in our spring retrofit we expanded them from 1bay to 2bay. during that time we also had several missing components which caused problems for me with the recent set, with the most pronounced issue being that during retrofit they didn’t send us enough of th... Leads Table12h agoSo we were told today at Specialist meeting today that every Specialist would have to cover the leads table for one hour for every day we worked over the Memorial Day weekend. We were also told this was not optional no matter the traffic in our department. In addition this was not a requirement of our store manager or SASM, but a corporate requirement. Anybody else being forced to man the leads table at their store??? Do NOT ******* WORK HERE12h agoFor anyone reading this if you get hired in plumbing AND OR ELECTRICAL. Leave. Dont loose an ounce of sleep. I would rather work a double at ******* McDonald’s than do this **** anymore. Plumbing is the biggest department in the store, has the most returns, and the most traffic. Yet we get the least amount of hours and still expected to go “above and beyond” for less pay than half the store. If you are in electrical you will also get scheduled in plumbing but plumbing almost never get scheduled in electrical. Electrical will sometimes be vacant and you are expected in plumbing to handle both. (2 largest departments in the store). Oh and dont get me started on when you are going through... SD nervous in SOME PA?12h agoSome stores my SDiT does great and others he doesn’t and I don’t know why. He does great in stores like Cabela’s, Target, Kohl’s, Hobby Lobby. He even does good in Dollar General and UPS. But some stores he’s more weary and nervous like Goodwill. He is VERY nervous in gas stations. I think he may be scared of smaller, crowded stores. I took him to a fast food place today but we had to leave because he was shaking(!!) and couldn’t task properly. I’ll tell him to sit (and he does, every time) but sometimes he’ll keep standing up and looking around more than focusing on me. I don’t know how to get over his fear (or what he’s nervous about) because he does great in less crowd... Former 5 year Apple employee wants to return13h agoI used to work for Apple from 2014-2019 and went from PT BOH specialist up the ranks to FT BOH, Lead and learn experience including in and out of store core facilitator, acting IS full time, acting ops lead, to a multi department LOTF experience journey that had me spend months as a specialist and then months as LOTF for each department including handling CS issues, having 1-1s, being in manager meetings for planning and actioning iPhone launches, Repair room strategies and of course all store inventory counts. I have always thrived in the fast paced “I can do it!” Environment of the Apple Store. I felt so at home I would do anything asked of me to build “experience” and my manage... This store hasn't been able to fill the tech position since February. Our back list of downed tools is over 85 and most of the issues are maintenance or improper usage. No worries, this is what I signed up for. I have an extensive background in this field; no tool is out of my wheel house. First few weeks were what I can say as enjoyable. I like the work and I'm not a slacker. I work hard and I don't need someone over my shoulder making sure I do. I fixed quite a few things and got started on regular overdue maintenance for most of the gas powered equipment. After week three we had a shake up where we have lost tw...
