I’ve made a time off request 4 months in advance for my specialist doctors appointment and it keeps getting rejected

1h ago

Ive wracked over many hours of PPTO and PTO, but that doesn’t matter. I want my unpaid time off and I still continue to be rejected. My department is fully sustainable without me and I’m a full time employee. it’s now rapidly approaching that date and for 4 months that request has been continually rejected. I want to get fired at this rate. My store doesn’t care for their employees health.

Breaking the Binary - Bastiodon

1h ago

Welcome to Breaking the Binary, a sporadic series of posts all about mixed attackers in Pokémon Platinum. With competitive minmaxing dominating the conversation about Pokémon viability and the design philosophy behind movepools and stat spreads changing in newer gens, Pokémon are often rigidly divided by the fandom into the categories of "special attacker" or "physical attacker." But for the in-game story, you're not facing EV trained opponents and thus don't need to EV train to keep up, so mixed attacking sets don't have the opportunity cost they have in PvP. Going mixed still has anti-synergy with setup moves, but it still can give many Pokémon access...

Higher paying jobs in Boone/Blowing Rock?

1h ago

Hey yall, I work currently at a job that makes me about 15 an hour, and I thought I was doing great. However my gf just got hired at belk for 16. Now I love my job but its manual labor for 9 hours a day 5 days a week. If I could just work at a department store and make an extra buck, I will. So does anyone know of anywhere paying 16+ an hour? Thanks!

SatuRUDDay: Dog is Sick Edition

1h ago

I was planning a bigger post this weekend, a preview of Ricky Rudd May, the month each year where I depart from my normal SatuRUDDay schedule to bring you over 31 Rudd (or Rudd themed) cars in 31 Days. More details later this month as a result of the delay. Unfortunately my dog has a stomach bug and has kept me up all night cleaning up after her. Since it is still yesterday for me, and I have all the processing capacity of a dollar store calculator right now, I am doing the preview later this week and instead posting some more trading cards today. I do not really collect trading cards, so I do not know if all sport cards are like this, but I have always found NASCAR trading cards to be insa...

AITAH for expecting more comfort and concern from my husband after having surgery?

2h ago

Gonna try to keep this short but that may be impossible. And a preemptive apology for typing mistakes as I am on pain meds and have gotten maybe 6 hours of sleep since waking up from surgery. My husband (35m), who is for the most part a very kind and gentle man, great provider and fantastic step-father, has a history of wanting to be the victim so there's no surprises here. When I (37f) got a medically necessary hysterectomy he made it all about how he'll never get to have his own kids. When I had to get an adult tonsilectomy (shortly after the hysterectomy), he made it all about how much weight he was pulling for the household while I was lying about. Again, this is fine - I&...

My boss refuses to do anything

2h ago

I dont even know where to start. I dont want to go too into detail, because I can't risk my job. Warning: this will be a very VERY long post. I could go on and on about everything wrong with this place, but then it would turn into a full blown book. I have a horrible manager. Hes a great guy, just not a great manager. I work at a small business. We have about 20 employees max, and that includes HR and the store owners. As soon as I got hired, I noticed the manager basically played no part in...actually managing. My first month there, I worked the closing shift consistently with one other person (I will call this person "Brian" for the sake of not revealing too much info), an...

Training

2h ago

Hi so I just started my job (so far I actually like working at my store) my only issue is training. Ive been put in the GM department AM shift so planogram I believe is all I’ll be doing. I have no clue though what I’m doing though, I’ve never worked in major retail I’ve only worked family and friend owned stores. Everything is unknown to me like the zebra scanners, where to find what to put away, how to find where to put the items… the only thing I’ve gotten a grasp on is changing the tags to the new ones and moving product around to match the label… can someone help explain just the basics of planogram and like how to use the zebra phones. Also I hope this post doesn’t come...

Scripture Life: Does obey in Ephesians 6:1 and Colossians 3:20 mean obey without question or is there room for discussio...

**ANSWER:** Well first, * What do they say? * Ephesians 6:1 says: But read it embedded in and with Ephesians 6:1–7. “**1** *Children,* ***obey*** *your parents* ***in the Lord:*** *for this is right.* **2** Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; **3** That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. **4** And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. **5** *Servants, be* ***obedient*** *to them that are your masters according to the flesh,* with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; **6** Not with eyeservice, as m...

How many backroom associates should we have at homegoods? (Combostore with tjmaxx) and who should I talk to about the sa...

3h ago

As long as no one calls out (and something something payroll) we have 5 backroom, and 3 that flow. We have one person filling the line, we have 3 processing and filling tanks, and one person doing trash. Then whoever is the least-busy sorts. Sometimes our back room coordinator will sort, but not consistent or reliably. Like there are clearly 4 lanes, and from what I understand the brc, and management aren't supposed process/sort/loadline. I'm sick of getting lectured in our daily huddles about not being able to get the truck done in a single day. Out of the almost 10 months I've worked here, we've only been able to clear 12 panels in a day, is when we had 8 backroom as...

Any games where a nuke wasn't the trigger for the apocalypse?

3h ago

I’m sure there are plenty of novels where the apocalypse isn’t caused by nuclear devastation. But when it comes to games, especially RPGs, I’m struggling to think of any titles where the state of world wasn't explained away by someone saying "nukes". Firstly, I'll list the post-nuclear war/disaster titles/franchises: * ATOM series * Atomfall (*Haven't played it*) * Fallout series * Fountain of Dreams * Metro series * Mutant Year: Zero (*It's one of the reasons)* * Paradise Lost * ~~S.T.A.L.K.E.R series (*I have yet to play this one, so someone correct me if I'm wrong*)~~ * Wasteland series Now, I'll list and describe the games where no nukes...

Applied for internal job posting, didn't get the job

3h ago

I am in my fifth year at the office I work at. There was an internal job posting for a newly vacant position and I applied. This position was created in early 2025 and before then, I was basically doing that job. I answered every question correctly at the interview, got a few "good answer" responses. I aced the test. I was told there would be a second round of interviews for those they wanted to proceed with. The second interviews would only happen after all candidates had been interviewed. 2 of my colleagues applied. One was someone who has been there 7 years but has never done that kind of work. The other was hired in February and has background in anthropology and previous...

From Back Office to Marketing Powerhouse: How Smart Gym Owners Turn Front Desk Data Into a Member-Growth Machine

3h ago

For independent gym owners, boutique studio operators, gym entrepreneurs, and personal trainers, one of the biggest marketing myths I see is this: > Owners think marketing is Facebook ads, email blasts, or social media posts. But the truth is this: **Your most powerful marketing system is already inside your gym — sitting quietly in your back office.** Your check-in system, front desk routines, CRM data, staff conversations, and booking trends contain a goldmine of behavioral intelligence about your members. When you learn to unlock that intelligence, your **operations transform into marketing**. And that’s when things get exciting. Instead of guessing what members want...

The Row boots

4h ago

Hi, I found these The Row boots at a local value department store for $49.99 (!!!) After googling, they appear to be the Ava boot. Anyone have these and have any reviews or insight?

I quit, do I have a retaliation case?

4h ago

Long story. I've been with Walmart for 5 years total. The last 10 months I was transferred to a different store when I was promoted to TL. I've had ZERO complaints, consistently praised for my good work ethic. I seriously loved and enjoyed the store I originally started with. It was a great store after hearing all the bad stuff about other Walmarts.. Before I start, I keep receipts. I know how Walmart works so I've been documenting and keeping EVERYTHING. Also, keep in mind I am the 6th TL in this area in less than 4 years. In the 10 months I've been at this store, we've lost another 5 TLs throughout the whole store. Boy, no one warned me about the store I transfe...

Consistently carrying my department just to get a $0.43 raise. I’m done overworking myself

4h ago

I work full time in the produce department at a Massachusetts store. When I started, I was offered $18.25 an hour. I have about five years of produce and grocery experience before BJ’s. Right now, I am basically the only person consistently doing the actual work. I break the load down every morning, stock the floor, move product efficiently, take down and create signs, and scan out spoiled items. I handle whatever needs to be done. There is a clear inconsistency in effort across the department. People call out, no call no show, leave early, take long breaks, and generally do LESS than bare minimum. Some are on their phones or moving slowly through basic tasks. What’s really frustratin...

Coles Online : Coles C&C Manager - Burnt out and considering transfer. Is it possible after 5 months?

5h ago

Hi everyone, I’ve been working as a Click & Collect Manager at Coles for about 5 months now after working in Coles 2 years in a different store as a team member and honestly, I’m starting to feel really drained and unhappy with the role. The main issue is the working environment. The store manager and support manager in my new store constantly cut hours, even when my department is already underspent just to balance other departments that are overspent. It doesn’t make sense — we’re already struggling, and reducing hours just makes things worse. Because of this, I’m almost always short-staffed. Orders don’t get completed on time unless I stay back. Most days I end up ...
