Distributor revealed entire scalping scheme.

2h ago

TLDR: Distributor and Walmart employee revealed entire scalping racket at my local department stores (Central US). Basically, Walmart employees have a special relationship with restocker, take what they want, then sell the restock information online to whoever is **** enough to pay for restock notifications. Posting half because it’s infuriating to me and I need to vent; half because it’s informing on how these scalpers operate. I feel like most of us speculated this type of thing or have maybe even seen something like this. So my parents know I collect pokemon and are typically on the lookout for me and will pick up some cards if they get lucky when they shop for groceries and such. M...

Why the proposed $72M Police Budget Increase will mathematically make St. Louis less safe (A Systems Analysis)

2h ago

Hey everyone, With the ongoing fight over the state-controlled Board of Police Commissioners pushing a $270M+ budget and Mayor Spencer warning of massive cuts to basic city services, we are having the same circular argument about crime in St. Louis. When violent crime is high, the immediate, understandable demand is for a tourniquet: more police on the street right now. It’s a compelling argument, but it treats municipal budgets like they are infinitely elastic. In reality, forcing a $72M overage for the SLMPD means cannibalizing the exact city departments (trash, parks, vacant building remediation, lead abatement) that prevent crime from germinating in the first place. I’ve been rese...

New Internet Essentials account at address with existing regular account roommate, and California Lifeline Home Broadban...

2h ago

I rent a room in a house where there is an existing tenant, separate from me, who already has a Comcast account at the address. He has a higher income than me and an expensive internet plan that I can't afford to split with him, so I want to sign up for my own account at a rate that I can afford. I tried applying for Internet Essentials online, by going to the Xfinity store, and by calling. When I tried applying online, I input my address and it says I already appear to be a customer and to call 844 963 0231. When I went to the Xfinity store, they told me that for Internet Essentials I need to apply online first because they don't verify eligibility in store. They told me...

Should I buy a blazer for the career fair ?

I’m going to a career fair (for high school ) for my first teaching job. Obviously dress pants and dress shoes are a must. But I’m looking at the cost of blazers at my local department store and geez. I’m in Texas btw

Complicated MFA Setup

3h ago

I'm trying to setup more robust MFA for a small retail company with a few dozen workstations across several locations, and the criteria is to do so without upgrading everyone to P1 licenses and without personal cell phones being used for authentication. We have two types of user accounts that require different approaches: departmental accounts shared between several team members, and individual accounts for managers of those different departments/stores. Both the team accounts and the management accounts tend to share the same workstations - for example, the team that handles perishable goods and the manager of that team will share a desk but will rarely need to use a computer at the ...

From You Flowers Review

3h ago

Ordered from ”From You Flowers” expecting a nice bouquet to surprise my mom with for her birthday. They said they use local florists in the area to create and deliver. I randomly got a text from someone at Safeway grocery store saying they were having a hard time finding the people at the florist department to pick up my order. Then got a call from Uber telling me my driver was having a hard time finding the building my mom works at. Definitely not what I was expecting, and I paid for the deluxe arrangement. The flowers are okay, but definitely don’t look “deluxe” to me. Luckily my mom still likes them, still waiting for them to bloom up more I hope.

Lazy sod

There’s a college in my store that has an excuse or a doctors note for everything he/she doesn’t want to do for example he won’t go on the wagons because he can’t control the pump truck properly or he cant do anything with the flowers because the flowers make him sneeze ffs he can’t rumble because it hurts his back. He works on the produce department btw

The Remote Gym Owner: How to Turn Your Fitness Business Into a Lifestyle Company Using AI and Systems (Without Living in...

3h ago

For decades, the traditional model of gym ownership looked something like this: * First person to arrive in the morning * Last person to leave at night * Working weekends * Filling in for staff who call in sick * Living inside the building you supposedly “own” Many independent gym owners, boutique studio operators, gym entrepreneurs, and personal trainers enter the industry with a dream of freedom… only to find themselves trapped in a job they created for themselves. But today, the landscape is changing. Technology, automation, and AI-driven operational tools—like **MaxMembers.ai**—are making something possible that was extremely difficult just a few years ago: **Running a gy...

My difficult boss and bad fast food experience

3h ago

For almost the past year, I (32M) have worked at a fast food restaurant in NY. It was an emergency survival job that I always intended to move on from when I could. I started back in April 2025 and I've finally decided to leave this year, February 2026. In the time that I've worked at this restaurant, I've made a couple acquaintances but it's hard to establish any friendships with such a high turnover rate. Since my start date in April, I've worked under four different general managers, with the current one having started back in October 2025. Let's call her Ann. Ann's reputation preceded her. She'd been in and out of the company for years, having wo...

She's here!

So I loved the peach amuseable, then I saw the charm and I thought they were sweet. my local department store had the bag and it was love at first sight. The price did put me off but I figured as I have finished my collection (Leicester pigeon, sky dragon, Evelyn swan, the amuseables ruler and pencil and the tennis ball bag charm) that I could treat myself to such a sweet bag! It reminds me of a smiley face backpack I had as a child in the 90s!

Do customers know how much work it takes to run the store?

3h ago

I often wonder if customers have any idea how much work maintaining the store takes. I was watching our produce department meticulously place potatoes in the bin, there's a specific way SW wants this done. And I remarked "it's funny how something grown in the dirt with cow **** dumped on it, then dug up, placed in a large tub, shipped across 5 states, needs to be displayed "just so" to look appealing." You can't just dump ugly potatoes in a bin and call it good, I guess. An item like Honeycrisp apples has pre-bagged 2 pound skus, individual apples placed "just right", then store bagged individual apples, then Organics done similarly. Just for on...

Trip Report - February 19 through February 27 2026

4h ago

I picked up so much knowledge from this subreddit that I wanted to do a trip report about my amazing time in Rome. **Feb 19** Took the Leonardo Express straight to Termini as I was one of the many affected by Hyatt's hotel not opening in time. I was relocated to [NH Palazzo Cinquecento](https://www.nh-collection.com/en/hotel/nh-collection-roma-palazzo-cinquecento) which is right next to the train station. It's a wonderful property and even got an upgrade because my stay was so long! I would say for those wary about the Termini area, if you've been to Downtown Los Angeles, you have nothing to worry about. Just keep in mind all the advice about pickpockets. Because I was exhau...

Pavane Review: Youth is Finite, but Eternal

4h ago

Directed by Lee Jong-pil, Pavane premiered globally on Netflix in February and quickly became one of the most talked-about dramas in recent months. The film is an adaptation of the novel Pavane for a Dead Princess by author Park Min-gyu. The cast features Go Ah-sung, Byun Yo-han, and Moon Sang-min. Pavane begins with a conventional take on love at first sight by showing how a couple comes together only for the woman to be abandoned by her partner. As soon as he achieves media success, he leaves her for someone else. This creates a lasting trauma for Gyeong-rok, who is the child of this broken relationship. As the story progresses, it introduces two other young people whose paths cross wit...

Moving from Columbus to STL

4h ago

Hi all. My partner and I are moving from CBUS to STL this summer, and I'd like to know how the cities compare in terms of what we like and dislike about CBUS. I've tried to make this specific as I’m sure this question gets asked a lot. We are in our early/mid 20s and are hoping to move to the CWE (as a side note, also taking apartment recs). Basically l'd like to know which of these areas STL is stronger/weaker in as compared to CBUS. TIA! Likes: \* Location/Distance: 1) You can get almost anywhere within the area in 20 minutes. 2) Easy access to cities like Chicago, Pittsburgh, etc. \* Neighborhoods/Walkability: 1) There is a neighborhood here called Short North with a v...

Suit advice for a summer wedding guest (one-time wear?)

5h ago

I’m looking for some advice on what suit to buy for an upcoming summer wedding. There is a dress code with light colors, so I will be following that. The main issue I’m trying to figure out is what makes the most sense to buy. I work from home and almost never wear suits. I don’t attend formal events or networking functions, so realistically this suit might only be worn once or very rarely after that. The color dress code is also not a color palette I usually wear, which is another reason I probably would not get much use out of the suit after the wedding. Because of that, I’m unsure what the smartest route is. Part of me thinks it makes sense to buy something more affordable from ...
