1996 Vans Warped Tour memorabilia

1h ago

2026 is the 30th anniversary of Vans as a title sponsor for the Warped Tour. These are items from my personal collection. There was no title sponsor the 1st year in 1996. Fun fact: The tour might have been the Calvin Klein Warped Tour. #nocap

Customer had the nerve to get mad at ME over our staffing problem

1h ago

For context, I work in a grocery store bakery and the deli and sandwich station is all in the same area. We only had 2 deli people on the shift and at the time of the incident, one was on their lunch break and the other was at the sandwich station helping a customer who wanted a sandwich. The deli clerk at the sandwich station called the department manager to come help the customer waiting at the deli. The manager had his hands tied with something else, but he said he would be over as soon as he can. I should also add that I do not know how to slice the meats and cheeses since I work in the bakery. Cue the impatient Kevin. Kevin stood there for maybe 5 minutes. He walked over to me and asked...

Phoenix apartment - Lease takeover

1h ago

🚨 Your Next Apartment in Phoenix, AZ Just Texted. It Said, “Pick Me.” 🚨 Looking to snag a great place without the long-term commitment? We’re looking for someone to take over our lease through December 2026—and this gem is available anytime between April 1 and June 1 (aka flexible enough to work with your “I’ll move eventually” timeline). $1545/month. ✨ Why You’ll Love It: ✈️ Only 12 minutes from the airport — close enough for convenience, far enough that your living room isn’t a runway. 🚗 Ground-floor apartment with an attached garage — because braving the rain is overrated. 🧼 Move-in ready — no mysterious stains, no “quirky” surprises. ...

Anyone following Retail Earnings? Kohl’s (KSS) just beat profit expectations.

1h ago

I’ve been watching the retail sector closely this week, and Kohl’s (KSS) just reported their Q4 results. They actually beat earnings expectations with $1.07 per share, which is better than what most analysts thought ($0.85). However, their revenue was still a bit soft at $5.17 billion. It feels like they are doing a good job managing their internal costs, but getting people to actually spend more money in-store is still a struggle in 2026. Now I’m looking ahead to Thursday for Dollar General (DG) and Dick’s Sporting Goods (DKS). My two big questions: Are we going to see a massive "flight to value" with Dollar General because of inflation? Can Dick’s continue their growth ...

Please help. How can you teach kids to respect things?

1h ago

I have a 3 and 4 year old. They are pretty good kids, but I failed in this department. When they were younger, I would buy them toys basically every time I went to the store. On their birthday, I would buy them 5-10 gifts, same with Christmas. I am a solo parent and although we have a lot of family in our town, they’ve never actually met any of them aside from a set of grandparents and an uncle. So I think maybe that was my way of trying to make up for nobody showing up for Christmas and birthdays, but then I would also go to the store and I’d feel bad that they weren’t there so I’d buy them a toy, etc. My dad is very active in their life and he’s a handyman. He helps to fix a ...

Any CMU Alumni here? Found a concerning post

2h ago

I’ve been accepted to cmu mhci, berkeley mins, and uw mhci, and I’ve been deciding between the three. I’m coming from a non traditional non tech/design background so I have concerns about job placement after graduation. Would love go hear your thoughts on the best program for someone with my background. I stumbled on this post a few years ago that seems to echo some worries I have of cmu’s program structure: “General TLDR: This program acts as a cash cow for the university. For the price, and “reputation” it markets, the program does not live up to such an image. Some of us want to share some critical thoughts on the MHCI program at Carnegie Mellon University, as students f...

[TOMT] [SONG] [EDM, Saxophone] unknown song heard in shop

2h ago

Heard in a department store, It sounded a bit like the saxophone riff in guru josh infinity but different notes, there was also a male vocal in the background but I couldn't make out any lyrics. If anyone can listen to my not so great humming on vocaroo that might jog someones memory - [https://vocaroo.com/1oEeDUZcLK0i](https://vocaroo.com/1oEeDUZcLK0i) Thankyou so much for any suggestions

These skins are a joke.

2h ago

Just some things I want to say about skins. A rant if you will. Who's actually buying skins from the store or getting the premium pass? I don't know about you, but I much prefer to *earn* my skins, to show off my achievements in the game. These skins are boring asf! Who cares what colour the gun is? You just paid money for something that has literally no value and no purpose aside from just letting everyone else know that you have spare money. Now, I wouldn't mind paying for a skin, if said skin was something wildly different from what was available for free. I think they've got the right idea with the white rabbit skin, that I would pay for, if it wasn't for you...

Anthropic just sued the Pentagon, because it refused to let the US military use AI to spy on Americans

2h ago

This is not a normal corporate lawsuit. Anthropic filed two federal complaints Monday after the Trump administration labeled the maker of Claude a "supply chain risk," the same designation normally reserved for Huawei and Chinese state-linked firms. The trigger was simple: Anthropic said no to two things. No to fully autonomous weapons. No to mass domestic surveillance. The Pentagon said that was unacceptable, declared the company a national security threat, and told every defense contractor to stop using Claude immediately. Trump posted on Truth Social that he "fired them like dogs." Pete Hegseth tweeted the designation before his own team had even formally issued it. O...

I Work at a Fancy Grocery Store. There's Something in the Walls (Part 1)

**>>3.4.2026 2:03pm** I’m not on Reddit much, but I’ve got a **** assignment for class and it has to be posted online to count. I’m required to keep a live journal for a week to pass my JOU101 class. It can be about anything, just has to be written in my voice and record stuff happening in my life to compare my personal writing style at the beginning of the semester versus the end. It kinda feels like a waste of time, but when I remember my professor is going to have to read like seventy journals about the ****** lives of broke college students, I figure I’m getting the better end of the deal. Here’s to passing this class, hopefully. \-Lisa **>> 3.5....

Music Overload!

It was great to visit the newly renovated and reopened National Gallery of Ireland, which had commenced work on the historic complex at Merrion Square to address a critical need for the repair and renovation of the fabric of the Dargan and Milltown wings in March 2011. Refurbishment of the two wings was complete in July 2017. It was nice to see that the extensive upgrade of the fabric of the two buildings whilst reclaiming their original period elegance. After leaving the gallery, I strolled around the corner to the National Library to check out the Yeats Exhibition within the library. The exhibition, Yeats: The Life and Works of William Butler is stored in 100 archival boxes and occupies 24...

Catch up on what happened this week in Logistics: March 3-9, 2026

Hey everyone, If it's your first time reading one of my posts, I break down the top logistics news from the past week so you're always up to date. Let's jump into it, # Tariffs, Refunds (who knows where we're holding) After the Supreme Court struck down Trump's IEEPA tariffs on Feb. 20, Trump turned around and imposed a new 10% global tariff under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, a law that had never been invoked before. He then promised to bump it to 15% "effective immediately." That 15% is now, per Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, likely happening this week. But it gets messier. On March 4, a federal judge ordered Customs and Border Protection ...

Anyone had weird customers monitoring/staring at them and asking really personal stuff?

2h ago

So Ive had some incidents that have made me fearful in working here and wondering if it happens to others. Quite a few customers have very casually told me that they watch me in and outside my store. I used to walk to and from work and apperently, they watch me like a hawk and find it ok. People have asked me where I live and stuff like my middle name. I have a very uncommon first name. I really just dont want people knowing it or my middle name,as they can be used to search me and try finding me. These people get way too interested. I was only a cashier. I moved departments because people want ti get so up close and personal with me and touch me a lot. Its almost always old people. They ...
