So my store has been going through a huge remodel and MOST of our payroll is seasonal including me. I have been seasonal since valentines day and I have never called out or even been late and work 40 hours each week and trained in every department. My thing is is that the store has been shady firing many people behind our backs and telling us they “quit” but since most of us seasonal are close and talk to each other a lot of them were telling me they were fired. Some of my coworkers who have been seasonal asked our ETL if were being kept at all and she had told me I am being kept and two other people theyre being kept after our 90 days and and one has finished their 90 and it is still **...

How do you guys feel about this? I work in the appliance department and we already had the highest SPH, that has increased this month because of the new 2x on installs and LPP. Being at a low to medium traffic store, it was already a fight to hit SPH but to bonus now is even further to reach. Any specialists at low to medium traffic stores that are bonusing and what are you doing to get there? It seems like they are constantly making it harder for specialists so they don’t have to pay out lol.

Anyone else try to come back from leave and your ASMs can’t put you on the schedule because your store is over hours? Like absolutely has nothing in any departments to give? I’m cross trained all over the store so it’s not like it’s a department issue, it’s a literal lack of hours issue… like how long does that last? And how does that affect my job?

So I am currently working an entry level job at a large department store. I am leaving in 3 months as I am moving to a different location and they are currently hiring to replace me and other people leaving the store. My girlfriend is desperate for a job to help her pay for college and I am considering recommending her as a replacement for my current position. I just worry that it could be unethical as we would obviously overlap for around 3 months until I move away. I have been working here for over a year and just wonder how I should go about asking my manager if I even do.

To begin Stock One is being required to work full carts and pallets alone. Management thinks this is the best way to get all our picks out while keeping the store looking clean. Also they believe the backroom will be more organized. Okay. I got handed HBA which was two carts. So I pulled one to work solo as expected. I (20 F) have been at my Safeway/Albertsons Starbucks kiosk for 3 years. I’m cross trained in 5 departments and I’m still making basically minimum wage — $15.75/hr in my state.
