I really like the Cohort rules in BitD and wanted a similar option in SaV so I took a tab at re-using them for that setting. I tweaked the specialist (expert) a bit but left the squads (gangs) mostly in-tact. My thought was that if you're playing with a small crew (2 or 3 PCs) that it might be a bit frustrating to have to constantly split off one person by themselves, or always be rolling 0 dice on those two or three action ratings that nobody has. That's where the Specialist comes in.
