I'm obviously using a throw away account instead of my usual. So, the old hospital on Thomas St just north of Downtown. You've probably seen it from 45, it's the terracotta, Spanish Style building. I've been observing this building for sometime. UrbEx has gotten in, kids, adults and I have been inside a few times (once with a paranormal investigation crew). It has power, AC, heat, new insulation, fully functioning mechanical room, along with with semi clean restrooms, running water, these weird closet style rooms on each floor that look like showers or hose down stations. Do a longtail cast on using lots of yarn in the tail to make sure you don't run out. Excitedly start knitting. Realize you were knitting with the excess tail instead of the yarn attached to the skein. 2. Ladder down to fix what you think will be a simple 1-2 stitch error and find a surprise accidental short row. 3. Join in the round without successfully confirming your cast on isn't twisted. Discover 6 to infinity rows in that you are making a mobius strip. 4. Ball band claims each skein/hank/ball is from the same dye lot. Demarcation line across your finished object says otherwise. 5. Bro my manager is so buns dude4h agoI work as a stock worker at a mid-tier clothing store at my local mall, and my job is to recieve new incoming boxes of clothes, adjust the price tag to the current sale, and put out on the sales floor. What makes this job irritating is the vast amount of tourists and regular customers we get each week that flood the store. it doesnt seem like a huge issue but it becomes one after the customers tear apart our nicely folded down tables each day leaving the closing crew to deal with about 2-3 hours of folding and clean up each day after closing. The reason this relates to why im irritated is because when I put my prepped clothes out on the sales floor, I put them in the correct spot just for ... I lived at a fire tower in Alaska. I slung the rifle around my shoulders, tightening the strap so that it wouldn't bounce during the steep, rocky descents that marred the trail in dozens of spots. Roots from the evergreen forest ran across the trail like greedy fingers reaching up to grab unsuspecting ankles. Even fully rested and traveling with daylight and good conditions, the seven mile hike from the fire tower to the... I lived at a fire tower in Alaska. Obsidian pyramids hidden throughout our park are teeming with something monstrous [pa...4h agoThe tower loomed above me, a shadowy silhouette of spiraling stairs and wooden beams against the fiery Alaskan dusk. I had spent the last five hours clearing the trails, dragging logs and broken branches off to the sides and repainting the faded markers with fresh red paint. I felt sweaty and dirty. My legs ached with every step. But underneath all that, I felt a sense of contentment that always followed a day of hard work and a job well done. At the foot of the fire tower, I saw a green mountain bike propped against one of the steel support beams. I instantly recognized it as belonging to my supervisor, Roger Hodges. Stopping in my tracks, I glanced up at the single room ten stories in the... AIO to Cabin host allowing cleaning crew access to our cabin during our stay?5h agoI am currently in Broken Bow and we have had ALOT of issues with our Cabin since check in last night. We didn’t immediately notice anything other than a handful of dead bugs and dirt in corners and some small piles of dog fur which I was fine to overlook, we are in the woods after all and it was a pet friendly cabin. However, we had 2 twin pull out couches that my kids slept on. These were FILTHY, we didn’t pull one out but the inside was absolutely covered in dog hair, dirt and what looks like chips that had been eaten on them. We shook them out and laid another blanket down for my son to sleep on. The other we had to move from the spare room into ours (I have 4 kids 5 and under so ... Reminder about why you should never work on asbestos yourself6h agoI keep seeing posts where someone tears out old flooring, insulation, or popcorn ceiling and says “it’s fine, nothing happened” or “it was just a small job.” The problem with asbestos is that the damage doesn’t show up immediately. It’s delayed, cumulative, and very well documented. Here are the biggest misconceptions — ordered by impact. --- ## 1) “I feel fine, so it wasn’t dangerous.” Asbestos-related diseases have **very long latency periods**. Mesothelioma typically develops **20–50 years after exposure**. Lung cancer and asbestosis also take decades. Globally, asbestos exposure is linked to **~90,000+ mesothelioma deaths per year**, and well over **200,000 ... I was a yacht girl. And a social climber.6h agoI was a yacht girl. And a social climber. Nope, that’s not clickbait. Many many years ago, in my mid-twenties, I was a UK Brit, living in Hong Kong. I was working for my cousin in the clothing business, at a middling position as Manager of their HK office. They paid for all my expenses, including flat and car, and First Class travel plus paid me a going rate for the position. Due to my cousin’s connections, I was very quickly inducted into a social circle far above anything I moved around in working as a secretary in London. And I realized early on, that connections are everything, so I became friends with many people above my own class, who, unlike when I lived in UK, knew noth... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
