My friend who I'll call J and I often like to spar. In Spring I'm staring martial arts and I consider it fun practice. We do it in a safe environment on soft grass, we also wear baggy clothing to prevent cuts or anything. Recently I've been kicking more because I want to do Taekwondo, but Judo is the perfect fit for me. Therefore, kicks have been getting more common, along with counters and blocks. Every time he "counters"(blocks) he gets.. giddy. A lot of times we will laugh and talk mid spar, and he mostly does it after he gets a good push in. My guess: given the Dungeons & Dragons guys are currently the ones developing it, it'll probably tonally resemble the J.J. Abrams films more than anything else. As much as I don't feel like we need yet a fourth casting iteration of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and so on, I'm also guessing that's the most likely outcome. What I'd like to see: show someone the Wrath of Khan trilogy, then say, "Make something, tonally and so on, that believably takes place in this world."
