Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Five Guys Store Latest Community Discussions About Five Guys StoresAs someone who lives near North Hills, are all Harris Teeters full of dogs?15h agoOr am I just closest to the Harris Teeter with the highest concentration of assholes? Literally every time I go in there someone has a dog inside i prefer to snake through Dartmouth/Quail Hollows to the Food Lion on Wake Forrest because IT FEELS MORE SANITARY ain’t that something? Who does the shopping for Instacart when I pickup?3d agoHi, just moved to a new state with Harris Teeter. I've never used Instacart but was curious how it worked. I don't want someone driving me my food, but if someone shops at the store and I pick it up, who is actually doing the shopping? Is it a HT employee or IC? Rub testing day4d agoTrying out a rub I purchased on a lark. Rub: BBQ Pit Boys Pork Privilege. St. Louis Ribs - Villari Prime (Purchased at Harris Teeter in NC). So - for any that have seen pictures of my ribs before, the color is quite excellent as per usual. Visuals - Up to par but not exceptional outside of my cooking approach towards normal faire ribs I serve. Texture - Average. See flavor and judgement for more details. Flavor - Like meathead's memphis dust. Which I find pedestrian and boring. Surprisingly, the rub's flavor was mostly rosemary and uninspiring. It played acceptably with my food truck's BBQ sauce but I would never serve these. Judgment - For anyone who likes Memphis ... Food Lions Looking Bare in Multiple Locations5d agoSo, I’m noticing a trend and wondered if it was just me or others have noticed as well. It seems every Food Lion location I have been 2 in the past few weeks have a lot of shelves empty, most notably the freezer/cooler sections. Bread is gone, crackers, cereal, all sorts of things. What makes this strange to me is that its locations in different areas: Wendover, Monroe Rd., NoDa, W.T. Harris/Idlewild Rd intersection. And other grocery stores/retail stores aren’t affected: Wal Mart Market Place, Target, Harris Teeter, etc. Is there a remodel planned, is it a good chain issue for the company or is it something else. I know the NoDa location has been remodeling for the past 200 years, but... I need a job. (20M)6d agoI’ve worked at Little Ceasers, pho 79, Ross, TCC (Advising Office) Harris Teeter and most recently at Newport News Shipyard. The longest job I’ve had was at Harris teeter for over a year. I’ve been getting really bad luck with applying for anything within this side of the water with the exception of the shipyard. I either get ghosted, or the places are just not hiring. I don’t have a car so I take the bus everywhere within the city. I’ve thought about applying to jobs possibly across the water and using the bus to commute, but I’m making that my last option. I don’t have a degree yet, but I’m one class away from finishing my associates in social science. I went to the lab... Built a grocery budget app that now works with ANY store and still saves us $200/month (Plateful 1 year major update)6d agoAbout a year ago I shared my app [Plateful](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/plateful-grocery-list-budget/id6743173309), a (solo or collaborative) grocery list app with real-time pricing and how it helped my wife and me stop blowing our grocery budget. Back then it was limited to about 12 supported stores and focused on shared lists, live totals, and basic meal-planning. Since that post, I have updated the UI and have just added the biggest update. **The big update: any store, one app** Before: Plateful only worked with a fixed set of stores (Walmart, Target, ALDI, Costco, etc.). Now: you can shop basically any grocery store that has a website: * Open an in-app browser * Go to your store... 🥧 Tomorrow is Pi Day. Your wallet is about to thank you. Built a shared grocery list app for my wife with real prices from any store, we stopped overspending and save about $200...9d agoAbout a [year ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/ProductivityApps/comments/1js7knb/built_an_app_that_solved_my_wifes_and_my_grocery/) I shared [Plateful](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/plateful-meal-plan-budget/id6743173309), a grocery list app I built for my wife and me because we kept blowing our grocery budget. We shop every two weeks, planned meals separately, and used the same budget with no real coordination. I was bouncing between store sites with a notepad, trying to track prices by hand. The cycle was annoying: we went over budget almost every time. Since then, the biggest change is this: * Before, Plateful only worked with a fixed list of stores (Walmart, Target, ALDI, Costco, etc.). ... For the love of god, leave your dogs at home (or explicitly dog friendly places)12d agoSorry all, deleted and reposting because I couldn't edit the prior one. **tl;dr**: dog owner is incensed that she's asked to leave with her large uncontrollable dog, fucks around, finds out. Just left the NoMa Harris Teeter where some woman, we’ll call her DO (Dog Owner) is entirely unnecessarily getting arrested. I’m in the back corner of the store and suddenly hear a very loud dog barking from a distance. Piercingly loud, while deep enough where you could tell it was large. I finish my shopping, head to the register, and a woman with a MASSIVE pit bull is being escorted out (after being permitted to finish her transaction), by a female security guard. Someone sa... I think fancy feast killed my baby?12d agoI flagged this NSFW due to my love getting unalived by, something? I don’t know. Okay, I am going to try and make a post about this, and make as much sense as possible, as i am emotionally and mentally in a very bad space. I am writing this through tears and shaking hands. My cat is a black and white tuxedo cat. She was a little overweight and we were working to get her to a healthy manageable weight. The last vet visit ( October 25th, 2025) said she was overall healthy and just needed some exercise and a better diet. And to check back with them come spring. I had switched her diet from 9lives crunchy food to the Scientific Diet dry food. I also supplemented, as a treat, the lick-able ... The Grocery Wars - Would you take up arms for your local supermarket?14d agoI saw a map of most popular grocery stores by state, and thought "what if we had a civil war based on this?" A week later I came up with this. I looked at which stores were most common, which were most "popular", and then general distribution for 30+ chains to come up with the borders, which i smoothed out along natural features that would serve as decent borders/entrenched battle lines. I've also omitted most nationwide chains assuming they more or less got stretched too thin/don't have enough regional identity to take regional control. The door on the right only opens this far.14d agoPeer into the abyss, and report back. Cost of living (COL)15d agoWhat does cost of living actually mean to you? Is it just the cost of real estate or almost everything? Recently moved from the west coast (from a HCOL city) and was under impression that the COL in Raleigh is much lower. Off course the housing is (still) cheaper, but it balances off by the lack of high paying jobs and lower salary for same/similar job compared to CA/WA. My employer has a flat 35% pay cut between CA (Bay Area) and Raleigh, on the name of lower cost of living (they call is lower cost of labor). Everything other than the real estate is as expensive as CA/WA. The food at restaurants (Indian, Mexican) is as expensive but with lower quality and worst service. Viceroy in Dur... Oreo Brownie 🤤15d agoHi I have a very important sweet treat question!! How are the Oreo brownies from the bakery made???? I am literally obsessed!!!! I had one a few weeks ago and I’ve come back every day for the past week trying to look for one, but they never have them in stock anymore:( I’ve gone to all my surrounding Harris Teeter and they don’t even have this in their bakery I don’t know if this is just really specific to this Harris Teeter or? 😭😭 I even had my boyfriend called to ask when they’ll be back and the guy said that he’s the only one in the department that knows how to make them 💔 TLDR so my question is, does anybody out there know how to make these/are there specific days... Whole Foods proceeding with downtown store18d agoAs previously announced, Whole Foods will be anchoring the new development at Church Street and University Ridge. The latest update: it just applied for a site permit. My prediction: it will wreck the Fresh Market on South Pleasantburg. The downtown Publix is so convenient and has survived the opening of two nearby Harris Teeters. It’ll do just fine with another competitor. I’ve Never Seen This Before. What’s The Difference Between The Two? 🤔18d agoUnexpectedly reached diamond cart status yesterday and now my screen looks like this. I’ve been doing Instacart since 2021 and have never seen a hot spot color other than orange. What’s the difference between the two colors if any?? OMG Harris Teeter Prices21d agoI recently hurt myself in a fall. I asked someone to pickup a few things for me as I am unable to drive at the moment. The person was well meaning and went to Harris Teeter to pick it up. I know that Harris Teeter is expensive but I must be much more aware of prices than they are. They got a 12 pack of the cheapest canned dog food, 10 slices of American cheese, 5 lbs of sugar, 12 frozen fudge bars and paid $46.00. My draw dropped. All I know that I can get 24 slices of cheese, 5lbs of sugar and fudge bars for $10 at Walmart, Aldi and Target and the same dog food for under $20 at Foodlion, Walmart and Target. Why does every major grocery store that’s in plaza always have a Chinese restaurant next to it?26d agoEverywhere I go In this state there’s a Chinese restaurant next to the grocery store; Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Walmart… I’ve mentioned it to people and they say they’ve noticed it too. Should I just go to Duke Energy directly to pay my bill?26d agoFor years, I used to pay by phone, until they decided to use the feature where it hears my speech, and it never does. Then I started to pay online. Around December 2024 or January 2025, I thought my payments went through, usually being around $60-80. In March or April of 2025, they disabled my ability to pay online because THEY NEVER WENT THROUGH!!! I learned I could go to Food Lion on Hillsborough Rd to pay it (Walgreens is closer, but I think I need to apply for something and I'm trying to catch the bus for work, no time for that; maybe next time). Been doing that since April up to December, thinking it was successful. January comes, my bill is $230+ with previous payments not paid....
