I want to get my parents out of here.

2m ago

Hello! Ugh... I'm desperate. To sum it up: We live in my paternal grandmother's house,I have a super awful family on both my mother's and father's sides (with very, very small exceptions, as always). We have always been treated like ugly ducklings and excluded. My parents are excluded from their own families, neither of my grandmothers like us and I don't know why :( We were always quiet children, we never shouted, and we were always wise and sweet children. My parents were always treated as outcasts by their own families and have always been constantly cursed by their mothers....to tell the truth, my grandmothers didn't even remember my birthday XD And I di...

Stop gaslighting India, Google. The Pixel experience here is a premium priced “Lite” version.

3m ago

I’m done. This isn’t just disappointment anymore—it’s frustration bordering on insult. Buying a Pixel in India, especially something like the Pixel 8 Pro, feels like paying flagship money for a deliberately crippled experience. And the worst part? We’re expected to accept it with the excuse of “regulatory issues.” Let’s be clear—this isn’t regulation. This is neglect. ₹1.07 Lakh for what, exactly? We’re paying ₹1,06,999 for a phone that costs $999 (\~₹83,000) in the US. That’s a ₹20–25K premium, and in return, we get less. Not “different.” Not “localized.” Just… less. # The AI hype doesn’t exist here Google sells Pixels a...

budget apps for new parents to manage baby expenses: first post here but had to share what's actually worked

5m ago

first time posting here, been lurking for about 8 months. finally posting because the question about managing baby costs comes up constantly and i haven't seen anyone give a complete answer that isn't just "coupons" or "buy store brand." the apps that have actually moved the needle for us: ynab for overall budgeting and making sure we know where everything is going. this is the one that required the most setup but it also gave us the clearest picture of what we were actually spending on baby stuff month to month. for the shopping side, popgot is the one specific to baby products that i'd recommend. it compares unit prices on diapers, wipes, formula, and bab...

All the men in my family die at age 67. At my grandmother's funeral, I found out why.

5m ago

I’m writing this from a refurbished B&B owned by my family, an old money family hailing from northern Georgia, because I don’t think I’m going to sleep tonight, and I hope someone might have some suggestions for me. If you’re local to North Georgia, I’m going to ask you for a specific favor at the end of this. Some serious trouble followed me from the church after my grandma’s funeral and doesn’t intend to leave any time soon. I won't use real names here, as anyone reading this story who's a local might be able to figure out who our family is pretty quickly. In the past four years, my father died at sixty-seven after a battle with cancer we caught too late, m...

Help Recovering Account

6m ago

Hey all. I used to play before the moonton US ban. Is there anyway to get my old account back? I tried making a new apple id in the UK and it shows on the app store but it says it’s not available in my region when i go to download. I didn’t link my account to anything but it’s moonton sign in. What are my options here?

Claiming a table before ordering food —AITAH?

7m ago

Went to lunch with a friend last week at a casual place where you order then they bring the food to your table. When we got there, I asked my friend which table they liked and put my coat down on it. There were two other people already in line, and my friend turned to the one directly in front of us and asked if he wanted the table I’d taken. The person said ‘yea’ but that there were other tables so it was fine. We went ahead and moved our coats though. I felt embarrassed as I thought it was totally normal to grab a table before you order. AITAH?

Reviewing Authentic British Food in Mumbai - The Black Shepherd

8m ago

I am genuinely happy with the response these hand drawn, unfiltered reviews have been getting. So continuing that tradition, in the second week of February I visited this lesser known restaurant called The Black Shepherd in Bandra, which specialises in British food. Mumbai has plenty of British architecture, but not much authentic British food. Sure, you have old colonial institutions like Churchill and Gaylord, but they are more colonial elite food than actual British fare. Maybe British food’s global reputation has already done the damage. And honestly, Indians in general need a lot more flavour in their food. We even have gutkha in different flavours, so you know where the bar is. Joke...

Thoughts on your bf not posting you?

8m ago

Everytime I show him a cute/pretty picture of me, he’s so eager for me to send it to him like he’s almost literally begging 😭 Then one time may pinakita akong picture sa kanya and he was like “You should post that! Very pretty ka diyan!” Pero sabi ko wag na kasi nahihiya ako and magiging updated pa followers ko about sa glow up ko (I never post myself on my main IG acc), then I jokingly told him, “Ikaw na lang kaya magpost, nahihiya ako i-post sa acc ko eh.” Then he was like “Sige! Gusto mo ba?” Eh syempre nahiya naman ako um-oo kasi parang it would look like he’s doing it kasi I asked him to, not because he really wanted to. We also have several pictures of us like ...

Y2K 30YO GRL NYC ANTICS !!

8m ago

Hello ! I (’99) am planning a 2000s scavenger bday for my sisters (’96) 30th bday. The theme is Y2K 30 GRL NYC CHAOS akin to the movies Sleepover, She’s the Man, Mean Girls, you know the classics. Movies where they’re doing random silly mostly harmless antics that just feel alive. I’m needing some help coming up with 2000s girl (or boy) antics if anyone would like to help brainstorm and also just highlight their fave 2000s movie moments that they’d love to recreate irl now as an adult / loved watching as a kid. For me, my fave is Sleepover- I love the this is your last chance to do it big ! living for the moment energy, especially as a friend is about to move away. My first idea ...

[QCrit] Adult Contemporary Romance OF GOOD TASTE (99K words, 2nd attempt)

9m ago

Thank you all who responded to my first attempt last week. The most repeated critique was that I was being too vague with my plot points. I may have overcorrected. My four questions are: 1. **Where to place comps?** I am finding contrasting advice all over the internet whether they should be at the top or bottom. I personally feel that having a quick housekeeping with the stats and why I am querying this agent at the top but comps at the bottom was a good split that I've seen in many examples. But maybe I'm wrong? 2. **Exactly how much to spoil**? The "twist" death triggers the most significant conflict for the main character, so I felt the need to include it though it ...

CVS has a line of affordable, more-accessible personal care tools!

10m ago

Maybe I was just living under a rock, but yesterday in CVS (US pharmacy and personal items store) I saw [a line of accessible personal care tools](https://www.cvshealth.com/news/retail/cvs-pharmacy-introduces-new-universal-tools-collection-from-one-other.html)! The nail clipper first caught my eye, but they had a few other tools too, including tweezers and a pumice stone. I don't think the nail clipper can be used one-handed (unlike the Oneder Clip), but it's way cheaper ($10 USD vs $45 USD) and less bulky, and still useful for those with limited hand dexterity or some limb differences! CVS is not a good company, and I normally wouldn't promote them at all, but I haven'...

Delivery Problems Right & Left

10m ago

I placed a very important order over a week ago with a specific delivery date earlier this week. Now there's "unknown delivery date, may be lost". Today, I placed an order for something else this afternoon and paid extra for same day delivery by 10pm... this is a message on my order information in the account just before 10pm. "Unfortunately, a problem occurred with your shipment and we no longer expect it to be delivered. We're sorry for the inconvenience. If you have not received your refund within 5 days, please contact us." I'm sad. There are some things I really need to order that aren't available in local stores. What's going on?

Japan Early 2026 - Digital Nomad Update

13m ago

Just got done with an amazing 6 weeks in Japan. So much to talk about, but I'll try and keep it to key points and not too long. This was my 2nd time there, the first being a week 24 years ago, which I don't really remember for comparison. If you have any more questions, just ask :) Main expenses were flights, trains and accommodation. Because we were there in March and rented a place for the month of March in Otsu (Just outside of Kyoto), our accommodation was $3K split between 3 people. Not too bad in our opinion, but we had a comfy spot with great wifi (300mbps+) and convenient location. Kind of a two bedroom with the rooms separated by a sliding partition. We started with a w...

Staffing / NRF Piece

14m ago

Did anyone else catch the NRF SmartBrief piece about Lowe's committing major dollars to skilled trades workforce training? On the surface it seems like a big-box story with no connection to us. But sit with it for a second. When large employers ramp up recruiting and training initiatives across labor markets, the downstream effect on boutique retail staffing is real. Wage pressure, availability, and expectations all shift. So here is the honest question for this group: what does staff development actually look like in your store right now? Is there a structured onboarding process? Are you doing any regular product or sales training? Or is it mostly learn-as-you-go? The A ...
