The area I’m is expected to have \~1-2in of snow. The roads are adequately salted and no one is really scared of this weather. I live about 15min from my store. I’m a pharmacist tech and I am normally 1 of the 2 techs we have staffed on Saturdays. Surprisingly, Walgreens covered a hotel, food, and uber for me to work! I think the total cost is way more than what I even make in a day. I’ve also went to work with a foot of snow and have never had a job offer me this much. Im not complaining I’m very shocked and curious if this has happened to anyone else.

But I just saw a rescue organization proudly post about construction workers doing overtime until pitch black, working by cellphone flashlight, hungry, no food provided and framed it as “look how amazing they are” and “no union BS like in other countries.” That made me deeply uncomfortable. I wanted to make a post to share how incredible this resort is. I spent months planning my honeymoon and the springs / nayara came in tied (from my research). After 3 nights at the springs and now in my first night at Nayara gardens, I cannot comprehend how these resorts are even compared in the same league. My partner and I have been feeding this feral/stray neighbourhood cat for the past 5 years. It's always been super wary of humans, and took us 4 years to even hear it mew and be somewhat close to it/open the door without it bolting. Last week our area (Canada) was experiencing record-level snow and dangerously low temperatures. Somehow, for the first time ever, I got it inside.
