That’s sort of like trying to nail Jell-O to the wall.” So far he’s been proven wrong. The CCP didn’t just contain the internet; it has effectively used the internet as a tool to entrench its control by building a system that fuses chokepoints, platform governance, and punitive enforcement into something like a sovereign information utility. That said, the jury is still out, and Clinton may still be vindicated. On the one hand, LLMs can be under... Emma's path from December 13th to January 11th when she passed42m agoThis is my walk through of Emma's path that I had to peice together and seems to now make sense and fills in most of the gaps. The reasoning for her suicide is not clear except that she was unmedicated and in a paranoid mania running from perceived danger. This ran her right into a place where her depression from bipolar led to suddely killing herself by overdosing. It seems she had support and was staying with people, Emma might have been triggered to kill herself which is not clear still why she did it. Fredrick Health took her off all her bipolar meds, let her be flown to California from Maryland to a man she didn't in know, without a plan to take care of her after a suicide att... Can’t Stop! The World of Auto-Battle & Idle Games43m agoHello! This time, I’d like to introduce some **auto-battle and idle games** that I personally rate highly and genuinely recommend to others. When people say “auto-battle games,” they often imagine just one style—but in reality, the genre is incredibly diverse. On one end of the spectrum, there are deep, strategy-driven systems like **Final Fantasy XII’s Gambit system**, where you carefully plan your tactics in advance and then mostly watch the battles unfold. On the other end, there are casual, pick-up-and-play games you can enjoy by tapping on your phone, with little to no planning required. Although this is a niche genre, it is actually split into many sub-styles. Among... Food for the Poor44m ago'We're being terrorized.' What Mainers are seeing as ICE launches operation in the state44m agoMainers are grappling with the increased presence of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in their cities as the state becomes the latest target for President Donald Trump's mass deportations agenda. \- Details, though, about who is being targeted and in which communities are thin, state and local officials say. \- "Why Maine? Why now?" Democratic Gov. Janet Mills said Thursday. "We've reached out, we've asked questions. We have no answers." \- The Department of Homeland Security announced the launch of its Maine operation, "Catch of the Day," earlier this week, saying agents were focused on "the worst of the worst" in its ... Why does sticking to a budget feel like a second job?46m agoThe hardest part of a new financial habit isn't the math. It is the time. Categorizing every single transaction from the grocery store, the gas station, and the coffee shop can feel like an endless administrative chore. When the busy work piles up, it is easy to just stop looking. Tiller automates the organization, not just the data feed. With our AutoCat tool, you can teach your spreadsheet to do the work for you. You can build simple rules that automatically sort your transactions the moment they arrive. You can tell it that "Shell" always means "Gas" and "Kroger" always means "Groceries." For even more precision, you can create detailed... Nailing Jell-O to the Wall, Again. Money stress often comes from uncertainty, not just low income. A clear plan turns confusion into calm. Small moves like tracking spending, setting savings goals, and paying down costly debt can build confidence quickly. Simple systems also reduce mistakes and missed payments. Even a short weekly check-in helps keep finances on track. Over time, these **habits create stability and open more options for the future**. # Start With a Simple ... The Giant Traders at the Heart of Trump’s Venezuela Oil Grab47m agoBloomberg) -- President Donald Trump has portrayed his takeover of Venezuela’s oil as a victory for America, but when his administration wanted to sell several billion dollars’ worth of Venezuelan oil quickly, the experts it turned to were a couple of foreign trading houses. Vitol Group and Trafigura Group’s special licenses to ship still-sanctioned Venezuelan barrels have given them a head start in a potentially lucrative trade, while Caracas is under pressure to get the oil flowing again after Trump’s blockade forced the industry to cut production levels after storage filled up. For Vitol and Trafigura, it’s also a chance to claw back business in key markets. US restrictions ... Woke up from a vivid angry dream48m agoSo many of us have had it happen, you're sound asleep and then all of the sudden you're having this vivid dream where you feel the anger or fear and you try not to wake yourself up until you've resolved the fear or anger in the dream, but then once you're awake you're now panicking how bad your migraine is going to be. I can't decide if I should try to go back to bed, take a migraine pill, just power through, or if I'll be okay because of how my dream resolved itself. An hour ago, besides not wanting to test getting out of bed yet, I was really concerned with my BP with how angry I got in the dream. I'm not really concerned with why it happened, big p... Mariano’s no longer offering Kroger delivery?49m agoI’ve always used Mariano’s / Kroger delivery. It was a great service. Delivery guys would deliver right to your door with professionalism, and you knew your groceries were properly temperature controlled due to the delivery trucks. They also were incredibly well mannered and refused tips (against company policy). Now it seems like they’re outsourcing everything to Instacart? I’ve tried it out these last few times and it’s absolutely terrible. Now I have to tip and pay $50 a month for this service. Not trying to be rude but instacart people do not give the same level of care as the Kroger delivery guys did. Without fail they are randomly substituting items and checking out before I... Hypocrisy in marriage49m agoI've been married for a long time. We got married young and it was arranged. We had alot of issues initially due to his families complexed tradition. It was very toxic. I endured alot of it, trying to cope as much as possible, trying to be a perfect wife for my husband. I was told to bend the knee for the sake of his well being and comfort. That was my mistake. I continued till I couldn't anymore and so then decided I wanted to walk away. His parents were too much. He decided he will make it better by finally moving out. But it didn't stop there.. We tried to start a family while his parents toxic presence was very apparent in our life. I still had to visit on a daily basis. ...
