We are in the UK. We bought a kitten this weekend, we were told by the owners that they were just under 8 weeks old. Last year I got diagnosed with ulcerative colitis after a stay in hospital and for the most part my treatment is going well. I'm lucky as I haven't really had to change my diet much at all.
