Qualifier: Only been here a week and still in the honeymoon phase. Verdict (Week 1): It’s awesome! Everyone is friendly and polite, I haven’t felt unsafe, infrastructure is well-maintained, cost of living is very reasonable (food costs could be lower but I’ve only been to one grocery store chain), skyline is pretty, public transport appears good, costs of flights is reasonable with the regional carrier. Pros Summary: An excellent full-size city at a reasonable costs, full of great people. Cons Summary: A middle-of-the-road economy, could be stronger and more dynamic. Overall week 1 has been very successful! An excellent city for a young transplant from NC so far!

I'm so glad this sub came across my feed. I spent more of the day than I care to admit reading about laundry and taking notes. I made a list of what I need and thankfully the Whole Foods near work had the sport laundry detergent in stock so I was able to grab it over lunch. Brief history: my clothes started getting that musky odor after washing so I tried the popular laundry stripping routine that I saw somewhere. Seemed to work ok but odors returned. I feel like I’m going insane. I was just grocery shopping, and the whole time they were playing a Christmas album I’ve never heard before. I was CERTAIN it was Michael Buble. The songs were the standard Christmas songs, but a lot of the lyrics were changed. Pretty new to home pizza/very new to the outdoor oven side of things. In my area of Virginia we got around 4 inches of snow, but we really wanted pizza so I didn't let that stop us. Pizza 1 is a mozzarella and provolone base, prosciutto, pecorino romano then after the bake it gets some balsamic glaze. Pizza 2 is mozzarella and pepperoni with some sea salt flakes on top. My American legion is having a big dinner. (Kent City American Legion post 123). I’m looking to give the food that isn’t used to our unhoused population. Where would be the best place to distribute?
