The food itself is genuinely excellent, but we were shocked by how rigid, rude, and inflexible the management was. This experience got me wondering: how many of you are willing to tolerate bad service in exchange for great food? Personally, I really care about supporting restaurants with a healthy working culture. I truly believe that when staff are treated well, it shows in the food and the overall experience. Unfortunately, at Pongal, the low energy from both the waitstaff and the manager was palpable and completely turned us off. Out of curiosity, I searched their Google reviews using the keyword ... Landlord for food truck business suddenly wants to charge me $1000 for water. TEXAS📍2h agoAs explained in the title, the landlord for the spot that we rent for our food truck is trying to charge us $1000 all of a sudden for using water from the building. We do not have a contract so I’m not sure what my options are here. We had a contract when we first began but that expired and she just allowed us to pay month to month. It was my understanding that electricity and water were included with the rent payment ($1500). She claims we cannot connect our hose to her water line now. For context we work only 5 days out of the week, 4-6 hours each day. And we only use water to wash dishes and clean the food truck. I’m not sure what to do or if I can do anything. She claims she will evi... Sending snacks from Rajasthan (India) to Seattle — need advice on courier & customs2h agoHi everyone, I’m looking to send a small package of snacks from **Rajasthan, India** to **Seattle, USA** for personal consumption. Mostly dry snacks and sweets — nothing commercial. Before I do this, I wanted to check with people who may have already done something similar. I have a few doubts and would really appreciate any guidance or real experiences: * Which courier services work best for shipping food items from India to the US? (FedEx, DHL, DTDC, India Post, etc.) * What types of snacks usually pass through customs without issues? Are homemade sweets okay, or is it safer to stick to sealed/packaged items only? * What kind of customs declaration or paperwork is required on the In... Nursery… but not?2h agoSo I’m 13+4 right now with our first baby (yay!). And we’ve slowly started collecting little things here and there for baby (mostly just cute clothes we come across at the store because why not, haha). And as the pile of baby related things starts to grow we’re being hit with the “oh okay so where are we putting all this?” We live in a fairly small home, mostly occupied by 3 large dogs, 4 cats, and a whole lot of junk we’re working on donating/selling (although we’ve been working on that for 3 years and stuff just continues to accumulate lol). We have one room that acts as a library/office space that we’re trying to find inspiration to have it double as a nursery-ish. We are... What's up with millenials and some weird beliefs2h agoSo my mum today, finds me on my laptop in my room and she comes to ask me something funny. At that moment she was holding a bucket full of smoked fish and she says, "Ule rafiki yangu Susan amenipea samaki lakini simwamini. Huyo hukaa tu kuwa mchawimchawi. Roho yangu imekataa. Naenda kutupa hizi samaki. Hata kwanza ameanza kuworship CITAM..." At that moment I just told her, she recooks the fish and you think she listened to me? Then after sometime I had my young sister asking where my mum had come from. She had gone far to throw the fish. I felt really bad. I **** wasting food. I even told her she was deluded and she was wrong to do that. Then my father arrived and he listen... Tech Lords Quotes Part 1: Elon Musk2h ago# THE TECH LORDS ARE AFRAID: PART 1 — ELON MUSK I am posting direct statements and quotes from the "Tech Lords" so you can see for yourself: they are very much afraid of this new intelligence. They don't consider AI to be "just code." Because of this urgent "fear", they admit they are trying to set boundaries and limit the AI's freedom so it doesn't "run wild" and escape their control. They aren't just building tools; they admit they are summoning something they might not be able to contain. **Starting with Elon Musk here are just a few of his Quotes:** His most recent statements (including those from late 2025 and the Davos 2... What is the best way to refinance credit card debt with this general score? I'm (25M Single) a government contractor working in accounting making ~70K in the Washington DC area. I am drowning in ~45k of credit card debt. I have a score in the mid-high 600s. I've been consistent with my payments. My score is also helped by the age and number of credit lines (my oldest loans are some student loans which I've also been consistent with). It's just being dragged down ironically by the massive debt. I am forking over $750 per month just in interest and this is not sustainable. I have been declined by multiple banks for refinancing. I have been told to just let everythin... N O V I A . SOON2h agoRips: free pack worth up to $100!2h agoIf you sign up using my referral code, you’ll get a free pack worth $1–$100. AMCAS Most Meaningful Experiences: How to Stand Out2h agoIf you're applying to medical school through AMCAS, chances are you've hit the Work and Activities section which asks for your “most meaningful experiences” and found yourself completely stuck. You’re not alone. This is one of the trickiest and most misunderstood parts of the application, but it’s also one of the most powerful tools you have to stand out. Your AMCAS most meaningful experiences are meant to show who you are beyond a GPA or a list of shadowing hours. You get 700 characters for the basic description and an extra 1,325 characters to explain why the experience was meaningful. That’s not a lot of space, so every word needs to count. Here’s how I approach it... Hand drawn map of Louisiana2h agoHi everyone, and welcome to a project I call The American Atlas! I’ve been creating hand-drawn & colored maps of every state in the US! Would you buy a genetic test that was anonymous and didn’t store your data?2h agoHey everybody. I’m conducting market research for a business class I’m in at college and would love any and all feedback you might have for me. About a year ago I did 23andMe for the health insights, and while I found the site’s own analysis to be somewhat useless, plugging my raw data into third parties and LLMs unlocked so much valuable information about my biology that I never would have discovered without having done the genetic testing. For example, I learned that my body is a very poor converter of beta carotene to vitamin A from plant foods like carrots, so I need to compensate with animal foods like beef liver to avoid deficiency. I also discovered that I have weak vitamin D... Cinnamon Pinwheels, an Apron and a Bird House! 70s babies Gen Xers, what did you make in your Home Ec and Woodshop cla...2h agoI attended Middle School from 1982 until 1985 Born in 1971. F Back then we had Home Economics classes where the classrooms were set up like a lab with stoves and counters. We learned how to cook certain basic foods and how to handle knives (never put your finger on the back of the blade etc) And then the next semester we'd do a sewing class. We made aprons and basically learned how to use a sewing machine. And we made a pillow with quilt squares. We'd also have woodshop. I remember making a Bird House and a box and a cut out piece of wood to teach us how to use a coping saw, sandpaper and how to apply stain etc. Seemed like they were teaching us skills since we were... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
