Latest Comments & Reviews & Feedback & Social Media Sharing of the Grocery Store Latest Community Discussions About Grocery Stores in USGetting Started with Yakitori and Helpful Resources2h agoHey everyone, as a couple of you know, I'm trying to put a little more effort into getting this community going. I think the first thing to do is to help give people a starting point for doing yakitori at home. If you have any suggestions for resources or any tips to get people going, please let us know! These will get added to the sidebar for people to reference in the future. I'll start us off with a few things: * Of course I have to start off with yakitoriguy videos, his [chicken breakdown video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weZs_MPrvp8) is good for those who have never broken down a whole chicken before and his [video on making negima](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UW2w... As a college student on a fixed income, the new Southwest policy honestly feels like a slap in the face.2h agoAs a college student on a fixed income, the new Southwest policy honestly feels like a slap in the face. Let me start with the luggage changes, because that alone has made traveling so much harder. Southwest getting rid of the two free checked bags has ruined what used to be one of the most affordable and student-friendly options. When I leave for the summer, I have to bring home months’ worth of clothes, supplies, and personal items. Having those two free bags made it manageable. But now paying $35 for one suitcase is insane, especially when you’re budgeting down to the dollar between tuition, food, and everything else. For students who don’t have the option to travel light, this add... Park Hyatt Los Cabos: first impressions2h agoYesterday morning my wife and I ended up being the first guests to check into the newly opened Park Hyatt Los Cabos. The team at the hotel had a big welcome reception waiting for us in the lobby and we were greeted by the GM. There is still quite a bit of construction going on but it looks like most of the rooms closer to the pools and water are finished. The ones farther back and the residences still have a ways to go. There is also quite a bit of landscaping work going on throughout the property. It's also worth noting that the spa is not open yet and I believe one of the restaurants is closed as well. They've been partnering with spas at other properties and offered to book us ... Lisa Frank-Any idea when the kitsch collection will be available?? I want to spend my points on it 🥲2h agoSaltwater Skin2h ago⸻ Trigger Warning: This story includes abuse and trauma. Saltwater Skin is my story — what it felt like to live under control, the choices I made to survive, and the slow reclaiming of life and hope. ⸻ Saltwater Skin ⸻ I. The Boat That Breathed Eight years. Eight years of walls too thin to hide behind, of heat swelling like an extra heartbeat beneath my skin. The cabin air grew thick enough to chew, thick enough to press itself over my mouth. Water rations — buckets for drinking, buckets for flushing, buckets for washing, buckets for surviving. Salt seeped into everything: my clothes, my hair, my fear. Even comfort became a currency I could no longer afford. The sea wa... Why are you not going on the expedition?2h agoI currently do not see any point to not go on the expedition. I understand people simply not wanting to, do what you want lol. But for those who aren't going on the expedition for a reason besides just not wanting to, why not? I will say, my perspective is different because I started not too long ago and I don't have much compared to those who have been playing since launch so I wont be losing a whole lot. Maybe more casual players would want to stick around and not go because they don't have the time? But even then, it doesn't take much effort to gather the necessary items for the expedition, and once you go on the expedition you gain perks that are otherwise inaccessib... I grew up with an amazing Manx, and have long been looking for one to adopt. Finally found one in a neighboring town. I ...2h agoI have a beautiful female Manx kitten born July 25th who unfortunately has Manx syndrome. She has a prolapse that needs to be seen by a vet and she will need special wet food throughout her life to keep her internally healthy. She will also need to be spayed as having kittens will more than likely kill her. I’m looking for a unicorn here. Someone who has time and money to give this girl a chance if there is one. She was recently dewormed per vet to see if it would help her prolapse but there is a chance she may need a surgery if that’s an option. I can send prolapse picture privately. In short this kitten is special needs and needs a special home to survive. My vet ( knowing we are a fa... Struggling to Find Good Educational Toys in Pakistan for My Homeschooling Kid2h agoOkay so I just moved back to Pakistan from the US, and **I’m losing my mind trying to find decent educational toys for my kid**. In the US, I could walk into Target, Walmart, Amazon — whatever — and find **sensory kits, STEM toys, busy books, Montessori stuff… literally endless options**. Yahan aake I’m like… *bas yehi hai?* Everything I’m seeing online looks super basic, low-quality, ya phir wohi copy-paste China toys jo 2 din main toot jayein. Kid ko engage bhi ni kartay, learning to chhoro. I just want **fun, durable, actually educational toys** — something jo baccha khud uthaye aur enjoy kare, not random plastic junk. If anyone here is a parent or just knows good ... Rouge the Bat vs Sly Cooper2h ago**Sly Cooper vs Rouge the Bat** >A raccoon-shaped silhouette pounces through the air, lands, coils, and slips into a cautious sprint. Not far away, bat wings whisper from the sides of an unassuming roof unit. >The air is sullen. >City lights and skyscrapers shed their surroundings with cerulean outlines, inviting the lithe, quickly-moving figure into pockets of camouflage before he darts from them. No one has seen him as far as his senses can tell. Thousands of years of thieving knowledge and expertise condensed into his eyes, nose, ears, and brain, Sly is confident that the job is going to go off without a hitch. Steal an emerald from an antique shop. Leave a calling... On Differing Diets2h agoLet me preface this by saying I do not judge anyone’s dietary habits, eat what makes you happy and keeps you going, etc, etc. This is not meant to stoke arguments or anything. If anything, this stems from a long-brewing frustration about people that aren’t my doctor convinced they know what’s medically best for me. Anyway, I have a friend, Kate, who recently went full-throttle vegan after a health scare. We’ve all been supportive and encouraging, but she’s gotten increasingly pushy about us doing the same in solidarity. Mixed reactions across the board (some tried, some went vegetarian, one already was vegan), with a few of us politely declining. I’m not sure why (though I hav... AITA for getting upset that my girlfriend ordered food right before the special dinner I cooked for our anniversary?2h agoSo my girlfriend and I recently celebrated our anniversary, and I wanted to do something special. I planned and cooked a nice dinner for us at home. I was actually pretty excited about it because I don’t usually cook something this elaborate. When we met up, she told me she was really hungry and wanted to eat something immediately. I told her she could have a small snack if she needed to, but if she ordered real food she’d get full and wouldn’t be able to enjoy the dinner I made. I thought that was a reasonable request since it was supposed to be our special meal. Despite that, she went ahead and ordered food anyway and ate it. I was hungry too, but I didn’t eat anything because I ... The incorrect assumption regarding AI driving costs down via increased production for lower costs2h agoThis argument is often spread as a "pro-human replacement" argument. Essentially, it goes that if/when AI replaces humanity for a large portion of jobs, this will allow services to be purchased for cheaper. This argument has a fatal flaw, however. That is: **it essentially only applies to digital services.** The main issue with this argument is being unable to make a distinction between robots and digital agents. As it stands right now, robotics is considerably behind the LLM technology being violently persued in order to replace (and in turn starve to death) as many humans as possible. When this might happen is uncertain, but I would not be surprised if we see considerable layoff... What are you all spending on things you buy in a supermarket that aren't groceries?2h agoMy grocery spending tracking has always included consumable home goods too - medicine, toilet paper, trash bags, toiletries, etc. Recently saw a discussion where people were claiming they split these out when budgeting which seems a royal pain in the *** but with prices soaring is starting to be more appealing in terms of understanding where money is being spent. It also makes me feel slightly better about how high our spending is compared to some numbers I see on here despite our efforts to keep things down. My husband and I live in a HCOL area and currently spend about $1k/mo on this "grocery" category that includes much more than food and I'm curious to hear more experi... My very long and detailed Highclere tour wrap2h agoI shared some photos recently and had a few comments asking for more information about the tour, so here's a bit of a novel about our day. Hopefully it helps anyone planning a visit in the future. We went to the Real Lives and Film Sets tour, which includes a guided tour of the castle, time in the Egyptian exhibition, afternoon tea and a book. There are only 50 tickets sold per time slot (10:30pm or 1:30pm), and you're allowed time before and after to wander the grounds, so overall it's a lovely and uncrowded experience. I bought the tickets in May for the October date. They generally sell out at least a couple of months beforehand. We stayed close by at Donnington Grove the... A practical approach to a general strike2h agoYou hear all the time, especially on the left, about a general strike - which is everyone not showing up to work until the owning class buckles and stops treating us like livestock and ranch hands. Cute, but it's just not going to happen. There are several flaws and I'd like to address them with practical workarounds. First, some definitions, the only people for whom a strike would actually make an immediate impact is what I'll call the "producing class." The assembly line workers. The retailers. The janitors. The doctors. The nurses. The drivers.. The people who, if they miss a day of work, someone notices immediately because it makes their job more difficult and/o... I am beginning to feel taken advantage of2h agoI have a friend (completely platonic, this detail is relevant later) staying with me right now, who I do not remember telling them that they could stay. He says that we had the conversation about it and I do not recall this at all. He wants to stay with me because he started a new job that is very close to my apartment and has been having car problems and I work a mile away from where I live so it is easy for us to carpool if needed. He does have other friends in the area, but lives an hour away from his new job (idk why he would do that to himself) and he is trying to figure out what’s wrong with the car. That being said: He shows up to my apartment with a big duffel bag and a small... The Virus has spread to TJ Maxx2h agoIt’s like running into a coworker at the grocery store Sooo If we end up being best friends this post never happened lol2h ago32 M/US Not sure how adults are supposed to make friends, so I’m trying Reddit before I start talking to random people in grocery store aisles lol I like games, sports, music, art, fashion, and fitness. If that sounds like your vibe, let’s be awkwardly social together!
