G’day all, I’ve been chatting with a few growers about grain quality and realised a lot of us treat grain cleaning as an “optional extra” rather than a core part of the harvest setup. In practice, it can make a big difference to price, storage headaches and even machinery wear. When grain comes off the header it’s usually full of all sorts of junk – stones, sticks, soil, chaff, bits of metal, you name it. If that stuff goes into storage, it can bring in moisture, encourage mould and pests, and generally lower the value of the load. So last night I ordered a small tv for the house to turn spring training baseball on. My platinum card gives me Walmart+ so I utilize the delivery service. I setup a delivery for a tv to the house and thought nothing of it. Once the tv left their store it was instantly marked delivered, obviously I figured it was an error messaged the driver and he was upstanding, brought it right to us. He could have easily taken it with zero recourse because for him the delivery showed completed on his app. Also I failed to mention that I setup a pin that needed to be entered to complete the delivery. For months I've seen posts about smelly deliveries. I never understood what was going on until it happened to me this week. Instead of the usual paper bags, my Walmart delivery arrived in thin white plastic checkout bags with a very strong perfume odor. The smell transferred to my hands and filled the house. We have a loose group of friends (all neighbors) we play trivia with and have off and on for years, starting before any of us have kids and now several of us have babies or toddlers. I’ve a question about milling flour at home in my brand new Wondermill. I have never milled grains before today. Todate I've only made 7 sourdough boules with store-bought flour, but oh how delicious they are. My Wondermill arrived today, Mar. 5 2026. I was surprised (since all the grain mills in the US appear to be sold out for months). But I found one on Amazon. Maybe that's because it isn't right? Here's where I hope you can give me feedback.
