Irohazaka with Omoshiro Car Rental

2h ago

I recently wrote a review on Omoren car rental and thought fans of Initial D may find my review useful if they are interested in driving the famous Irohazaka roads. While researching JDM car rentals in Tokyo, I came across a lot of misinformation on Omoshiro (Omoren) and a lack of detail that would have been helpful during the rental process. Hopefully, this review will help some of you make the process smoother and more pleasant. **Experience:** I rented from them on two separate occasions: once in summer 2025 for the R34 GTR (Bayside Blue), and once in fall 2025 for the R35 GTR (white with orange interior). Overall, it was a decent experience, but there is definitely room for improvement ...

The Emperor's New Suit (SpaceX Edition) - Part 3

2h ago

# The Tesla Precedent — What the Kool-Aid Actually Costs Let us talk about Tesla for a moment, because Tesla is the case study, and the case study is instructive. In 2020, Tesla was added to the S&P 500. It was, at that point, valued higher than Toyota, Volkswagen, Ford, and General Motors combined — companies that, collectively, manufactured approximately 50 times as many vehicles per year as Tesla. The justification for this valuation was not the cars. It was the software, the autonomy, the energy business, the narrative of a company that was not really a car company but a technology company that happened to make cars. Full self-driving (FSD, which rather sounds like an alter...

The Emperor's New Suit (SpaceX Edition) - Part 2

2h ago

There is a scene in Hans Christian Andersen’s famous story that nobody talks about enough. Not the moment the Emperor walks out ***** — that is the famous bit, the bit everyone knows, the bit that gives the story its title. The moment nobody discusses is the one that comes before it: the moment the courtiers see the empty loom, see the bare skin of their Emperor, understand exactly and completely what is happening — and say absolutely nothing. Zilch. Kaput. They do not say nothing because they are ******. They are, many of them, highly educated, politically experienced, professionally sophisticated individuals who have spent their careers reading rooms, assessing situations, and adjus...

Does it make sense to buy an RSX in 2025?

2h ago

Really like the Acura RSX-S and everything about it, but I just don't know if it makes sense buying a 20 year old car (or maybe even older) in my situation. I'm a university student, and don't have unlimited money to throw at a car that will constantly need new parts/expensive maintenance. Premium gas isn't too much of an issue, but if I am gonna be paying that price, I want to ensure that I won't have to throw money at other stuff. I know that buying a 20 year old car guarantees that I'll have to replace some stuff, and I will obviously thoroughly check the car with a mechanic before buying it, but if its in good condition, will it be significantly worse than...

[Buying Advice] Does it make sense to buy an Acura RSX (preferably Type-S) in 2026?

Stretching your grocery gas discount.

2h ago

If anyone here gets a gas discount for grocery purchases. I’ve started doing this. It may not work for everyone. I don’t drive much and maybe fill up my tank once or twice a month and each time I usually have about 50-60 cents off. The catch is the discount is UP TO 25 gallons. And my tank is only about 15. So I’ve basically been leaving savings on the table. So this last time I filled up I took 2 gas cans with me and after I filled the car, I continued to pump into the gas cans until I hit the 25 gallon limit. I know I only saved like 6-7 bucks, but with the way prices are going I feel like every little bit matters. So if you have a gas can or two, don’t miss out on the sa...

Foley not knowing IBC root beer is mindblowing, especially the 32oz big dawg

That’s like the OG of rootbeers at gas stations near me growing up. Said beer on the bottle. A nearly 40oz equivalent to a 12 year old. Felt like a real man with one of those units.

China's Silver Imports Smash Records!

China's Silver Imports Smash Records! Jeffrey Christian’ China just dropped a bombshell on the global silver market—and it's pure rocket fuel for anyone positioned in the white metal. Record-Breaking Imports Confirm Explosive Physical Demand Official Chinese customs data for January-February 2026 shows silver imports surging to more than 790 metric tonnes—the highest level for the first two months of any year in at least eight years. February alone clocked nearly 470 tonnes, a new monthly record. These are not paper contracts or futures bets. These are real, physical ounces hitting Chinese shores because domestic buyers need the metal right now. Solar Power and Industria...

Full disclaimer: I understand that my perspective is inherently biased, so I may omit some information accidentally or exaggerate information to make me look better. So, please, feel free to ask. Ally is an okay person, but I don't think I put her in the best light in this post. Also, English is not my first language. Please forgive my grammar at times. I am a sophomore in college under a chemistry program. In the second semester of my junior year, I became friends with the subject of this post, who we will call *Ally*, and *Lisa* (20F), who was Ally's friend before me. In our laboratory subjects, I was always grouped with them. Rather, they grouped me with them, as I normally did...

****** gas prices…

2h ago

It figures. I’ve been rabbit holing on the Model Y for a couple years now. I finally started seeing mid 2023 models with HW4 and mileage I was comfortable with at the top of my price range then…$4 gas. I’ve been checking Autotrader and CarGurus several times a day. I’ve had three now that I called about as soon as I saw them. Already sold. Gone before they even had pictures up. Now I’m stuck wondering if I should just settle for a HW3 car or if this anticipated lease return wave is actually going to drop prices back to where they were a couple weeks ago. ****** gas prices.

I **** This Stuff

2h ago

(Feel free, 7OH, kratom user getting sober) "Feel free" yeah like I was even close to "Feeling free" when I was in the hospital withdrawing. I am a drug addicted Alchoholic and this kratom stuff is just pure dangerous for someone like me. I always made the excuse that "Its legal" or "I can get it at the gas station" but its this drug (yes I am defining it as a drug because in my mind and body it is) that brought me to pure bankruptcy and im not just talking about money. It bankrupted me from my family and friends, it bankrupted me into isolation to the point I was skipping work just to "feel free" or "feel good". I wish the bes...

Best beverage spot in town

2h ago

I’m looking for a place in town that has an unreal single serve non alcoholic beverage selection. It could be a gas station, grocery store, or anywhere really. I’ve been looking for a good location to find a wide variety and maybe some fun new soda or tea flavors. Drop a comment of your favorite spot!

Life Death and Dreams [chapter 18]

2h ago

Norman had returned to James’s house the morning after he’d discovered his disappearance. A team of forensics had scoured the entire area, while Norman sorted through James’s files and handwritten notes. He had then bagged it all up and taken it to the police station. The forensic report didn’t reveal much, as Norman had expected. Just that James had been in the house that night, then left on foot without making a single impression on any of the surrounding grass, mud or gravel paths. Norman spent hours reading through the notes and files that James had left behind, trying to make some kind of sense of them. It appeared, just like Charlie Black, that James had also seen this ‘...

[The Lord of Silvershade] - Chapter 2: Building the Lighthouse

It wasn't a wind. It was a rhythmic, subterranean *thrumming*, a deep, resonant bass note that vibrated through the root system he was sleeping on and hummed against his spine. The light filtering through the canopy wasn't the bruised violet of the evening before; it was a brilliant, hazy magenta, turning the morning mist into a wall of neon cotton candy. He tried to sit up, and his body scream...

CC32 Cutter

2h ago

Having just finished the first book of my fan fiction, which is turning my former campaign into fan fiction, I thought I would take a break and do something a little mindless as I re-watch some shows I've seen 100 times while furloughed. I could use some help with the stats as that is not my strong suit. Based on [Ralph McQuarrie’s classic art](https://www.deviantart.com/baronneutron/art/The-Art-of-Ralph-McQuarrie-029-1147279425), EC Henry, Angelos Karderinis, and others (I think?) came up with the CC32 Corellian Cutter.  Check out  EC Henry’s [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zB60T9tV4w) for his process and the lore I used. Why are Europeans paying for a U.S - Israeli war we did not choose?

2h ago

I’m European. I did not vote for Trump, I did not agree with Washington or Israel to launch this war, and yet I’m still expected to absorb the consequences through higher energy prices, inflation, transport costs, and everything downstream. Calling that “just the market” is a dodge and a social construct. It is a political decision creating economic costs for everyone else. What makes it worse is that the public justification is weak and contradictory. Reuters reported that the Pentagon told Congress there was no intelligence that Iran planned to attack U.S. forces first. AP reported officials described a broader regional threat, not a specific Iranian preemptive strike. Then T...
