Hello, I'm a freshman and needed some help with a question I partly understand but want to phrase properly. I have a fuel supply-demand graph with a negative and low price elasticity. Then we add a tax to the fuel; now there's a deadweight loss, and there's the government’s profit rectangle between the new price + tax and manufacturer's perceived price. The consumer surplus remains a pretty large area; how then does the tax affect especially low income individuals compared to high income individuals, (basing it on what's shown on the graph)? Hi all, I’ve been training for the Carmel Indiana Marathon for the last 18/20 weeks using Hal Higdon’s Novice 1, and was feeling pretty confident that I could at least get to the finish line, with a backup goal of sub-5.
