I’m travelling to Bangkok for the first time (solo!) this February and I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed choosing a place to stay!! I land at BKK at 11:30 PM, and realistically won’t reach the city until around 2-3 AM. I’m unsure whether I should book the hotel starting the night before, or if there’s a smarter approach for late arrivals. I’m planning to stay in Bangkok for about two weeks as the start of a 3-month stay in Thailand overall, with a budget of \~$500 USD total for this two week portion. My resolution for 2026 is to get back in shape. I built a small gym in the detached garage, but running back to the kitchen for water or shakes kills my momentum. I set up a mini ""fuel station"" next to the squat rack. I’ve got a mini-fridge and my blender running off an Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 (since the garage has terrible wiring and trips the breaker if I look at it wrong). Making a fresh protein smoothie immediately post-workout without entering the house has been a game changer for my consistency this week.

I’m a construction project manager and drive around 40k miles a year commuting to jobsites. My only vehicle right now is a ‘24 F150 but I don’t want to continue depreciating this with that many miles, so I’m looking to purchase a commuter vehicle. My job provides a gas card so fuel mileage isn’t a concern. I would like to keep this commuter vehicle under $15k. Looking for reliable options that will last to 250k miles but also provide comfort with this long commute. A vehicle with some get up and not totally boring to drive would also be a plus. Nobody's really talking about this, but it seems important for us as a community to talk about. The US needs a lot of energy right now right now to fuel the AI data center boom the next several years. Venezuela has a ridiculous amount of dirty crude oil and natural gas that has been going to China and not the US. The US is doing what it does best to change that. People are dying. This follows what the US has been doing for decades, but now it involves AI & accelerationism. None of us (unless you are in a position of power) chose this path, but it's happening.
