TL;DR: Customer wanted to pay for gas at a pump their car wasn't at. I tried to tell her why that wasn't a good idea, supervisor took over the transaction and proceeded with the sale. Another car pulled up to the pump before customer could move their car. I’d get a whiff of burning oil between 2-3 minutes after startup, and the oil got dirty fast (sub 1200 miles) so I decided to scope the cylinders. 3 of them look great, cyl 3 has this burned spot at the top of the piston travel (note that the headgasket is fine) and damage to the cylinder wall. Inline with the wristpin, not the piston skirt, which seems wierd to me, but whatever. Forgot to snap a pic, but the top of the piston also looks fine, if somewhat more oily than others, no missing chunks. I suspect a failing ring. Car still runs and drives generally fine. Gas station someone left a trailer in the red zone right when you exit and it was dark so couldnt see it and it scraped the **** our of my door. I was ****** and called insurance and started a claim thinking since it was illegaly parked i wouldn't have to pay. But I still have 500 dollar deductible and I did a Google search and im hearing even tho it was illegal parked and not visible I can still be held at fault and my insurance rates can go up.
