Winter storm is coming to PA, with bitter cold. If power lines are pulled down (happens often here), it could be several days with no heat. It would be great if I could run my gas furnace via an alternate power source. My 1,000watt power station is not adequate. AI suggests an AC inverter from my car would be sufficient, with 2000w steady output and 4000w surge (car would need to idle, but that's ok). Other subreddits warn that power must be pure sine wave, and I'll probably need a neutral-ground bonding plug. This sounds workable, and will cost under $200 – a lot less money and less hassle than a gas generator. Are there other 'gotchas' that I should be aware of ?
