Total newbie here, my boyfriend picked up this Quartz clock at an estate sale this weekend and I’ve rarely seen him more giddy about something. We put a fresh battery in it (dollar store brand) and it ticked and kept time fine for a few days, but it’s now stopped. The pendulum never spun on its own though, and the bell never went off. So to start- I’m curious about how this is actually supposed to work, the pendulum should consistently rock back and forth correct? And the bell should ring? Would the cheap battery I used be the culprit, or something else since they never moved? From my research it seems the best bet may be to replace the movement. I visited Costa Rica for the first time with my 4 children, ages 21, 14, 11, and 4, and can’t wait to come back! We loved the bright sun, the dense tree canopy, the wildlife, and the beautiful flora. The ticos were also extremely kind and hospitable. •**Transportation**: \-*Liberia Airport*: super small and not crowded at all. \- *Adobe car rental*: would definitely use again! I am super excited with how these turned out. I wanted to give rollerblading a chance but didn’t wanna go out and buy a new set of skates so I found what I could at a thrift store for $10 and let paint take it from there! I know it’ll scuff and wear away in some places, but I felt like this was a better way to try something out than to go and spend a couple hundred dollars. So at my work we have a secret santa like gift exchange, except we have it in march, I don’t really want to explain why as it may give away personal information. Hoping I can get some real answers, a lot of people here seem to be making it up as they go along at best. I added 3.5” dash coax speakers to my car in place of the .5” dash tweeters, and am running 2-way active. I notice the sound quality is great, but the soundstage is horrible. After TA and level matching, the left seat audio pulls hard right with a null at the left ear, and the right seat audio pulls right even harder. No amount of adjustment solves this. However, if I intentionally wire the left dash speaker reverse-polarity, the soundstage is much better. Rather than all the sound coming from hard right, it comes from “everywhere”. on my property I have lots of Black Cherry (Prunus Serotina) and burls are common. I recently salvaged a nice one from a living tree that fell last fall, but I just harvested it a couple weeks ago.
