Just starting out in the hobby and gathering all the beginner supplies. I will eventually get a kiln and anneal my creations but for now while I’m learning the basics, I just need something to safely cool my glass. I’ve seen there are generally 3 options: fiber blankets, vermiculite, or “annealing bubbles” (which I’m aware do not actually anneal). I’m leaning more towards the bubbles, as it seems easiest and that’s what my local glass place uses in the classes I’ve taken. But dang they are expensive. $60 for 15oz? Is there a place to get them cheaper? Or should I go the thrift store crockpot and the vermiculite route for now? How do you guys like to batch cool your glass?

I used to be able to buy this whenever I went to dollar general or Walmart and it seems since 2020 its almost impossible to find it anywhere, for a reasonable price anyway, I thought I bought a 10 pack on Amazon for like 20 bucks before but nothing was there when I looked, itd be over 80 dollars for 10 on ebay and I believe they used to be under 2 dollars in store.
