DOLLAR GENERAL Locations

Can anyone give me some info on being an assistant at 7-11? I worked at a franchise 7-Eleven a few years ago and then moved on to be a GM for Dollar General. I was recently offered a ASM position at 7-Eleven for a pretty decent pay per hour compared to my salary at Dollar General. I've already left Dollar General that place is just a dumpster fire. Now I'm just want to some insight on 7-Eleven it is not a franchise, it's a corporate run store.

Just an update to the security sensor incident: I told one of my other coworkers about the incident with the security sensors that I mentioned in my last post. She also thought it was weird so she went and checked the cameras. When she came back I asked her if she saw anything unusual and she said the most unexpected thing. Apparently the cameras that record the front door weren't recording while the guy was there. And then the last thing they recorded was when I was mopping (around 9:45-10:00 ish). This is the first stuff I've been able to find on the shelf at msrp other than single packs and small blisters or mega and phantasmal. Are they worth stashing away in our collections three for each of us or should my son and I just open them?

This was a $10 offer for a $1 mustard from Dollar General going down the street. I was closer to one DG so I ran into that one and grabbed the item. I didn’t think about it until I got a message from the customer saying “how did you get my mustard if you didn’t go to the dollar store?” It didn’t connect in my head yet that they only see the originally store on the map so I sent her a photo of the mustard in the DG bag and her response was “purrrrr” - it went from there. My 19 year old son would be mortified to see me using “bag is secured”.

Was able to find a complete box at dollar general and only found 3 of each which is crazy considering the hype. Hopefully everyone who wants one gets it in store because people are making stock piles and going straight to fb market.

So I'm an SA at my local Dollar General for 6yrs now and making 11.50/hr right now, but the people I know irl are complaining that I need to step up and make more money to find a better job. They're advise: 1) Take on a higher position in the store to make more money 2) Take on a second job at another company in the area. I grew up in central Mississippi with a single mother and my father was incarcerated my entire life until his death a few years ago. We were very poor. Pretty much everyone i hung around with during my school years are now meth addicts working at tire stores or dollar generals. One thing I did luck out on was using my father as an example of caution. Through mostly luck and a little hard work, I am now 32, I have an amazing wife and 2 kids. While I was down there, I decided to drive over to Coral Gables to visit the Sears location there, since I've never been there, and it's only about 12 miles away from the Kmart location in Kendall Lakes. It’s ****** because it was only 19 dollars and possibly 9 dollars of half pay or whatever but I had a shopping order for Dollar General of $19. I don’t have my phone on a stand and I’m not looking at my phone while driving but I drive a solid 10 minutes which is about six or 7 miles to get to the store from where I was when I got the order. When I get to the store, there’s no order on my page and as I’m about to contact Support I get a two dollar order for Jack-in-the-Box from where I started when I went to Dollar General. Over a decade ago, when I was a kid, someone told me on a bus that there used to be a Publix in the small plaza on 49th St N & 9th Ave N in St. Pete and that his mom used to shop there. At that time, that former Publix was a Save-A-Lot which me & my family went to very often for our grocery runs when we lived in that part of town and it was within walking distance. Now it's a Dollar General, which moved from it's original spot on the south part of the plaza in 2023 after SAL shut down the year before. Hi there, I was exploring some opportunities and came across a Dollar General store lease available in a tiny town in southern Illinois. I know that for many people in rural areas, DG is their only source of food and materials for several miles. However, I'm not sure if there is enough traffic in a town like Ullin (near Cairo) to make a go of it. Any thoughts or perspectives?

I checked with the mods before posting this. My friend and I ride self-supported quite a bit and found Dollar Generals and convenience stores are often useful rural pit stops but it’s a headache to cross-reference where they are with the route we’re planning. So I built a small free iPhone app to find useful stops along planned cycling routes.
