Turning Our Worst Enemies into Our Greatest Ally: Producing Leaf-Scale Biodegradable Solar Cells Inside a Porters Reserv...44m agoThere is a particular kind of satisfaction in watching something destructive become useful. Lantana camara has been choking out native vegetation across Far North Queensland for over a century. Giant rat tail grass carpets degraded paddocks in monoculture mats so dense they exclude everything else. Sicklepod fixes its roots into whatever disturbed soil it can find and refuses to leave. These three plants are, by any honest measure, ecological enemies — persistent, aggressive, and extraordinarily difficult to eradicate. Patches of them appear constantly within our polyculture: in gaps left by harvesting, on disturbed margins, in areas where a productive species has struggled to establish. W... Trouble downloading the gaming components?49m agoWhen I click the download button for the gaming components on Microsoft store, nothing happens. Any idea what I could do to fix this? I’m on windows probook if that helps? Thanks! Outside Hires- Tall sized rant50m agoOnce again instead of promoting someone- our store has gone with an outside hire. I feel so bad for the people who were lead to believe that they would get that position if they opened up their availability. I would much rather be working under someone who knows the store, what they’re doing, etc. What’s the point in saving a few dollars on the hour (probably not even that) if it just means everything is going to be a **** show until they’re seasoned enough to lead? I’m so tired of seeing great partners utterly crushed by corporate self sabotage. 🔥 Amazon Product Sourcing Competition 🔥53m agoWin a Job on Our Team We are bringing on 5 experienced product sourcers. Do you think empty shelves will last another decade or less?55m agoMy kids have been into pokemon for about two years now. It’s been a struggle. Every holiday, every birthday, every chore reward. All they want is cards, and we’ve been able to get them every so often but majority of the time it’s just nothing. I went to Target today because a friend told me there would be some. The line was to the back of the store! Waited in it, didn’t get anything even with the 2 per item limit- people were jumping back in line with people they knew and getting more. Asked a few men in the line if they knew any way or when other places restock and they just laughed at me. Hit dollar general, CVS, Lowe’s, Barnes and Noble, Walmart, BoxLunch. Empty empty empty. The Truth About Invisalign in South Florida: Why Most Providers Will Fail Your Smile in 202657m agoMost people treat getting Invisalign like buying a commodity—they look for the lowest price or the closest office. That is how you end up with "mid" results, permanent bite shifts, or two years of frustration. I’ve spent a decade analyzing what separates the top 1% of orthodontic results from the "oops, this didn’t work" crowd. If you’re in South Florida (or anywhere, really) looking to fix your smile, use this framework to audit your provider before you sign a contract. *** ### 1. The Specialist vs. The "Weekend Course" General dentists provide great fillings. But moving teeth is **biomechanical engineering**. An orthodontist spends 2–3 years... Ok so this might be a long shot but I have a question57m agoI dont even know how to explain what I am looking for but a couple years ago dollar general sold a bakeable cookie kit thing on holidays like Valentine’s Day etc and they were red. It came in a bag. But they were my favorite(call me crazy) and they don’t sell them anymore. I want to find them again or something similar, does anyone remember this? 😂 sizing question -59m agofor my fist pair, i want the choca lux. however there are no stores near me that have any in stock to try on, not even a similar open toe silhouette. i’ll be ordering online, there is a decent return policy so that’s not an issue if the sizing is off, but id really like to be right my first shot. would you say choca lux, or loubs in general run true to size? thanks! Bladder Pain?1h agoFor the past couple of years I’ve been dealing with some bladder pain. When my bladder starts to get full I get pain in my abdomen and sometimes in my sides and back. It generally starts before my bladder is very full. It seems to be getting worse over time, and some days I don’t even have to pee that badly and it’s still very painful. Once in a while my bladder can get full and it’s not painful and I just feel like the normal urgency, but most of the time it’s painful. I don’t notice myself having to pee more often, it’s just painful when I do have to go. The pain usually goes away once I empty my bladder. I don’t think it’s a UTI because I’ve taken a few of the tests yo... The First Lesson My Mother Taught Me1h agoI taught my daughter what my mother taught me. What my great-grandmother had told my grandmother and so on. The one simple rule that threaded through our town and sewed the community together. If they approach you and they are beautiful, do not trust them. If they approach you and they are hideous, thank them and be on your way. If their eyes follow, run and do not look back. That simple, simple rule that had supposedly been the first sentence my mother had ever dared to utter to me. And with that, after a gruelling labour I held my little baby, still covered in mucus and blood and membrane, and whispered the very same thing to her. It was barely audible above her cries, but they let me ho... Finally got my first app on the Play Store… took way longer than I expected1h agoAfter about 5–6 months of working on this on and off, I finally got my first app published on Google Play today. It’s called Place Alerts: Location Reminders. The idea is pretty simple — you attach notes to places and it reminds you when you get there. Stuff like “grab something from the store” or “ask about this when I’m at work,” that kind of thing. Going into it, I thought this would be a quick project. It definitely wasn’t. Android location stuff (geofencing, background behavior, all that) turned out to be way more complicated and inconsistent than I expected. A lot of trial and error just to get something that works reliably most of the time. I’m sure there are st... Dollar General kits1h agoI bought this kit at Dollar General yesterday for about $8. I've done a couple of their post card sized kits and they were really nice square drill kits. The box says it has 38 colors and though it doesn't state it on the box, the image appears to be made of square dills. I figured they probably wouldn't be the best quality but it'll be something to do. Turns out the diamonds are round 😔 If I had known, I wouldn't have bothered. OGC Galimacha, part deux1h agoCant edit my earlier post to add a photo Of the finished product. But here is leftover Galimacha. Tastefully plated on elegant tableware compliments of the Dollar Store. Found a oven cube dish at the dollar store! And had the genius idea to buy costco ground beef and portion it into 8oz cu...1h agoSpaghetti sauce in first picture. Every other pan I had was way to big to be practical. Nicaragua's dedollarization is working — zero slippage, 34.5% cordoba deposits1h ago**Goal of this policy is to "**strengthening of the córdoba in daily transactions and the reduction of financial dollarization in the economy,**"** "He also pointed out that domestic inflation remained close to its medium-term fundamentals, which allowed the inflationary floor to fall and protect the purchasing power of the population, favoring a greater demand for córdobas for daily transactions." **Low inflation is important because economists generally point to tethering a country’s currency to a Western currency (the dollar in this case, but the euro in others), one of the benefits of which is low inflation.** **English translation** The decision to s... How can high earners limit the financial damage in divorce?1h agoHere are some real life ways that high earners can avoid getting financially destroyed in divorce. Not every tactic will apply to every man, but I bet every man will get something out of this list. I've actually seen a lot of these tactics work, by the way. 1. Negotiate to pay your cash settlement in payments. IE, you will write a check for 25% of the settlement per year for the next 4 years. Write the check the first year, but after the divorce is signed by a Judge and the dust settles, when it comes time to write the second check, stall. You had unexpected expenses. You had a sudden turn in fortune, you cannot afford to pay. Then dare her to do something about it. If she does... Am I asking for too much in my relationship, or am I the problem?1h agoI (22f) been with my boyfriend (23m)) for almost 4 years, and at this point I just feel exhausted, hurt, and honestly really alone in the relationship. I feel like I’m constantly communicating how I feel and what I need, and nothing sticks. He’ll say he’s sorry, try for a few days (maybe a week), and then go right back to the same behaviors. It’s like a cycle that never ends. I’ll get upset, he apologizes, then almost immediately does something else that upsets me again, and then we have to “defuse” things all over again. I feel like I’m responsible for everything. Cleaning up after him, his friends, his sister, and myself. I can spend hours cleaning and then at the very en... ğŸ›¡ï¸ Content Safety: All discussions are automatically filtered for inappropriate content to ensure a safe browsing experience. |
