(27F, AuDHD, PTSD, Bipolar) I’m so overwhelmed by even the idea of going to the store that I usually just get my groceries delivered. Even just going in for small things—I’d much rather spend more money at Dollar General than step foot into Walmart. It’s so vast, exhausting, and overstimulating. I've found that food deserts aren't really spoken about enough in general, but particularly how common they are in rural America. I was hired by Frito-Lay warehouse recently. The recruiter told me it was hourly, expect 40 hours a week with the opportunity for overtime. "The opportunity for overtime" is the key phrase here. I was also told what days I had off per week, no problem. I had a 6 am start time for the other 5 days a week. Again, no problem. I think I came up with the best solution for everyone. Maybe not doordash, but if they'd told me before hand it would have been easier. 4 items from dollar general, $12 tip for 1 mile. Order got placed for a store 7 miles away, nothing was different and no warning. Still showed the 1 mile away store when I went to check dollar general. The dollar general I'm working has been in operation since Wednesday morning with out water plans to continue staying open until Monday or later. According to all the laws this is illegal. Not only does my manager know this so does my district manager and her higher ups. I left there last year after being with the company five years and have been at Dollar Tree ever since. I just found out an hour ago that the District Manager that is primarily the reason I left and who was there for 16 years just quit two weeks ago.
