Kind of a weird thought, curious is anyone else has wondered this before. As I understand it, under the gold standard, we had dollars in circulation, each of which could trace their value back to physical gold. As such, the dollar had no value, but was a representation of gold stored somewhere else. If this is incorrect, then the rest of this question might not make sense. For my first watch, I was looking at the tissot prx. I have pretty small wrists (6.4”) so I assumed 35mm would be the right choice. Before going to a Tissot store, I decided to buy a cheap Walmart watch just for reference. I measured it at 40mm from 9 to 3, and 48mm lug to lug. And it fits perfectly on my wrists. But it honestly looks like a small watch in general. I know a prx 40mm fits bigger, but now I’m confused if I should get a 35mm or a 40mm.
