So I heard something.. the Dollar general is am currently working at is going to move to a brand new store. Our building is torn down, like literally ceiling tiles missing, holes in the wall bad. Apparently its also becoming a DG market. Gonna happen sometime in summer? What do I expect work wise when it happens? Ik vendors are already cutting their trucks down so its official and confirmed.

So freaking annoyed with some thrift store pricing these days. I make multiple bouquets with flowers from my garden for the moms in my life and I source vases from the thrift store. What used to be .99$ each is now almost $5. And I don't mean for like the cute vintage vases, it's for like basic clear glass. It's ridiculous. Especially when one I saw, you can literally buy at the dollar general for $1. So frustrating. Anyways- happy mothers day 😂💐

I’ve never seen a store closed so often. 5pm on a Saturday afternoon, closed. 3pm on a random Monday, closed. At this point just close down and get a neighborhood Walmart or something that would actually be open and reliable.

This was Dollar General, which we already know is always a hot mess and rarely ever has the things that the DoorDash app says it has. I spent 35 minutes in the store trying to find all the Mother’s Day items that the Customer wanted. I’m spending my Mother’s Day weekend, Just trying to make enough money to feed my kids and had zero response to this. I wish there was a way before accepting to see what the tip was aside from what DoorDash fees paid. It’s kind of sad that people order and don’t tip. Fortunately it was only a mile and a half away. Definitely bummed me out since I went to Great Lengths to find or substitute anything I could. Sigh. 😔

hi! to make a long story short, i’m a travel LSA and i’ve traveled to about 5 other stores besides my home location, all of them being regular dollar generals and this time i am scheduled to open 2 days in a DG Fresh/Market location. so i guess my questions are how do i ring up produce? i want to make sure im charging everyone correctly of course. are there any special tasks i need to complete (i open sunday morning and wednesday morning) im sure this depends on the 7 day workflow but who knows, i figured id ask anyways.. whats your opening routine working in a dg fresh? i honestly dont really know what to expect but any kind of advice/help is very much appreciated!

I saw this Fruity Pebbles Candy on this sub before, and I was intrigued. I loved Fruity Pebbles growing up in the 80’s. I spotted this at Dollar General in Adrian, Michigan. Is there any possibility of any of these three stores opening up in the Binghamton area? There are none of them at all anywhere in the southern tier of ny. Costco and Trader Joes are nationally growing businesses. And I imagine that Whole Foods will be popular with the SUNY Binghamton crowd. I just feel like the region is completely starved of good grocery stores. We have enough Walmarts and dollar generals all over the area. Weis is mid. We need better options.

Listen, I love Dr Pepper as much as the next guy on this subreddit, but they gotta make some changes. In my town we’ve only had Dr Pepper coconut for a week, A WEEK and it’s already gone. We have a major grocery store and two dollar generals. While getting groceries yesterday all three were completely out of coconut Dr Pepper (not even any in the back). I was waiting in a long line at Dollar General when a customer had to run out to his truck for another payment. I would have been OK with the one stressor of waiting. However, the cashier was playing some God awful music on his phone. So, I slowly returned the items and walked out of the store trying to keep a pleasant look on my face.
