Im here for thoughts and opinions so I'll frame the question quickly: Im returning to MTG after not playing for about 15 years. Ive spent a few months learning commander and throwing money at a couple of decks. I play at two shops with usually not mutual players. A few attend both shops, but the communities are generally different and have very different vibes. What I have noticed is the same, however, is that the decks worth more usually win. There's one guy who has been playing for twenty years and seems to have every card ever made - he wins roughly 95% of the games he plays. Is it just me or does the Brady seem to be booking less shows than they used to and when they do they are generally less relevant? A few years ago that hit on a ton of acts (not all apply to my taste but was still impressive). For example - Olivia Rodrigo when her first album came out, Glass Animals when they really broke out, three nights of Billy Strings, Rufus Du Sol, and lots others. I hired someone to do a home improvement job I’ve wanted completed for some time. I planned to pay partially from my savings and partially with a 0 interest credit card. I found out after hiring the person that they won’t accept credit cards. I’m not pleased that they didn’t tell me this upfront. I did ask about payment in a general way. We have three cats which means we go through a lot of litter. Probably fifty pounds a month or more. I kept buying the same brand from the same store for years assuming it was fine. I compare now unit costs across stores using popgot and realized I was overpaying by about eight to ten dollars a month. That's a hundred bucks a year on cat litter of all things. I went into a cellular store and traded in my iPhone 14 Pro for a 17pro on 02/12. I then noticed that I was not credited and the employee actually kept my phone instead of crediting me the 800 dollars and never even put that I had a trade in.
