I often read comments about how professional athletes shouldn’t be making millions while teachers, nurses, doctors, etc. earn only a fraction of that amount. The salary of pro athletes shouldn’t be compared to other professions. They are anomaly and one of the few examples that I can think of where people actually get a good share of the pie that matches the revenue that their labor helps produce. Think about all the money tied to professional sports. Game tickets, tv revenue, building sports stadiums, food and drink sales, all the staff that work at stadiums, security guards, jerseys, shoes, etc. Plus they inspire people to play sports, which has good health benefits.
