D...1h agoWelcome to Black History Month; Thanks to Dr. Rennick for providing me with his "very busy" life story. My friend for so many years. Dr. & Mrs. Rennick have been members of Anson County Historical Society in Wadesboro since December 17, 2016. Dr. John Hamlin Rennick, Jr. was born March 29, 1956 in Wadesboro NC to John H. Rennick, Sr. & Minnie E. Renick. Dr. Rennick grew up with two sisters, Rhoda & Regina on Wheeler Street in Wadesboro. He has one older sister, Sandra Rennick Chiles, who resides in New Jersey. Dr. Rennick attended 1st grade thru the 3rd grade 1962 to 1964 at J. R. Faison School on Salisbury Street in Wadesboro. In the 4th grade ... Lots of talk about watercooling prices lately - EK Shop is 14% off1h agoThere’s been a lot of discussion lately about why watercooling prices move the way they do and what influences that. In the meantime though, the EK Shop is running a 14% sitewide discount. With copper and other raw material costs continuing to rise, price adjustments are inevitable, so this is a good opportunity to lock in your loop at a discount. Discount applies across the EK store on blocks, fittings, radiators, pumps, pumps/reservoirs and more. Good luck with your builds ⚒️ Would love to play the game but it is too expensive1h agoHi! This past weekend I played my first Riftbound pre-release and I really loved it. I've never played any physical card games before, only the Pokémon TCG online, and honestly, considering I knew nothing about the game, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I've seen that my local game store holds a skirmish once a month and I'd like to participate. The problem I see is that the meta decks are very expensive and I don't expect the prices to drop until they can print a lot of stock. I've thought about playing with pre-constructed decks like the Fiora or Rumble Champion decks, but I don't think they're good enough. I've also seen that it's impossible to... Stripe doesn't ban you because you're dropshipping, they ban you because your backend looks like a liability.1h agoI spent months blaming the "system" when my payment gateways kept getting flagged or hit with rolling reserves, but I finally realized I was practically waving a red flag at their risk algorithms. I was running a store doing decent volume, but my backend paperwork looked like a lemonade stand. My LLC was registered to my apartment, and my legal address on the Secretary of State website was literally where I sleep. I decided to professionalize the entire legal stack just to see if it helped with the verification requests. I moved the registered agent service to a proper commercial provider - I switched the filing over to InCorp mainly to have a solid corporate paper trail that ... Finished yakuza 0 and watched cutscences of kiwami 11h agoJust finished 0 it was amazing. So due to life reasons I spent all morning watching the kiwami 1 cut scenes so I could move on and play kiwami 2. I feel sorry for Nikihishi! Also I preferred Majima in 0, seems like a **** in Kiwami 1. I wanted to move on to Kiwami 2 as I liked the visual look of it and I want to play Kiwami 3 soon, as I want some QOL changes. Kiwami 2 looks so good, its such a jump ahead from kiwami 1. Looks like a ps5 game . Thanks for the memories Seahawks!1h agoJust want to say thanks to the team for an amazing ride this season. As a parents of two boys that are in peak youth fandom, we have had an absolute blast rooting this team on every week. This team is just so **** likable and truly represent the MOB mentality. No showboaters, everyone was about ball and team first, something that is rare to see at any level of sport. Thanks to the team and the 12s for all the good vibes, it was an amazing run to feel a part of! Idea for a new sorting option for Jam Tracks1h agoI could theoretically see this being used in festival main stage when picking what songs to play as well, but primarily I would like to see it implemented into the locker for use with jam loops. An option to sort jam tracks by BPM would be an excellent way to help curate your locker jam loops so you only pick songs with similar BPMs. If you've played around with jam loops before you've probably run into a scenario where you try to add a specific song to the jam but it matches it to the BPM of the song playing before it and it ends up sounding awful. Being able to sort songs by BPM in the locker would give you an easy way of knowing which songs will probably sound good together. J... ✅ OKstays - Easily discover quiet, comfortable hotels based on real guest reviews1h agoThis started from my own travel frustrations: every time I booked a hotel, I'd waste hours digging through hundreds of reviews just to figure out **if the room was actually quiet or noisy, or if the AC worked well or was just decorative**. With OKstays, I wanted to answer the **real questions travelers care about**, like: * Will I sleep well here? * Is it peaceful, or will I hear 3am street karaoke? * Is it truly clean and well maintained, or just "clean enough for Instagram"? * Does it feel local and authentic, or touristy and generic? * Is check-in smooth or a 30-minute headache? I’ve spent the past 3 months building **an AI system that reads and analyzes all availab... Watching Super Bowl on my iPad Pro1h agoMissed it last night, so I’m catching the replay this morning. Honestly forgot how good this screen is for sports. Anyone else catch the game this way? Pirelli P Zero (PZ5) vs Michelin Pilot Sport 4S — 225/40 R18 92y1h agoHey, I’m trying to choose between Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and Pirelli P Zero PZ5 in size 225/40 R18 for my car. I drive a lot of mountain roads and highway, and where I live it rains a lot and are cold (down to -2 °C) during winter(4 months) . I enjoy good dry grip, but what matters most is confidence and safety in wet and cold conditions. I want summer tires For daily driving and spirited mountain roads: * Which has better wet grip and stability? * Which performs better in cold, rainy weather? * Anyone with real-world experience with both in similar conditions? Appreciate honest feedback to help me decide. Thanks FR235 died after 8 years - help me choose the right replacement (small wrist, multisport)1h agoI need help choosing a Garmin watch. I'm coming from a Forerunner 235 (2017) that won't charge anymore and according to Garmin Italia, there's no way to repair it. I'm looking for something that tracks cycling, swimming, and hiking, but here's the thing: I'm not an expert in any of these sports. So I don't need a spaceship with every feature imaginable, but I also don't want just a basic entry-level model. **My requirements:** * Good swimming tracking (this is important) * Good cycling tracking * Hiking: just tracking, I don't need it to guide me since I don't do anything particularly challenging * Durable/resistant * Screen that doesn... Just got this at the thrift store for 15 bucks - too good to be true or real?1h agoHi, I just got this bag and know next to nothing about the brand, could anyone here tell me if it looks real? I really love the way it looks and would love to wear it, but I wouldn't want to lie to people if they asked me about the brand. Would also love to know how old it is or if anyone has a similar one :> ADBE my view as business owner. Chapter 1/X1h agoHi everyone, I’m a business owner and a long-time "lurker" on social media. While I rarely post, I spend a significant amount of time observing trends—largely because I invest heavily in digital advertising to grow my business. Lately, I’ve noticed a surge in Adobe-related discussions here, many of which, in my opinion, reflect a fundamental misunderstanding of the creative industry. Although I am not a daily user of the Adobe Creative Cloud myself, I am the one who pays the professionals who use it. I understand exactly what role Adobe plays in the creative workflow. Recently, I added a **5% position in Adobe (ADBE)** to my portfolio. As part of my investment process, I al... Grateful that I didn't even watch the game yesterday...1h agoI could write an entire book on this topic! Simply put though, I am glad that I have no current attachment to the super bowl and all the hype that goes along with it. As a former sports bettor, I spent many years watching it and gambling addictively. When I “won,” it was only temporary - “money in transition” as a good friend of mine calls it. When I lost, I had to endure the worst feelings imaginable - debt, tiredness, sadness, anger, flat mood, AND WORSE, I had to pretend all day to everyone I encountered that everything was fine. Here’s the good news: NOT TODAY, my friends! Thanks to getting help years ago and honoring the ongoing elements to stay vigilant and healthy over the ... [WSJ] SAM DARNOLD'S QUIET SUPER BOWL REVENGE1h agoI'M NOT SURE WHY JASON GAY IS WHISPERING INSTEAD OF BEING LOUD AND PROUD, BUT ARTICLE ABOUT OUR GLORIOUS GEQBUS IS QUOTED BELOW! >He’s not going to give anyone the satisfaction. Not now, at least. > >For a while, the world’s been chasing a Sam Darnold revenge saga, reminding him of all his dead ends and doubters, teeing it up: An opportunity for the Seattle Seahawks quarterback turned Super Bowl champion to flip a figurative (or literal!) double-bird to the many, many experts who decided he didn’t have the tools to reach the NFL mountaintop. > >Loudly getting even is the currency of our time, of course. The preferred ritual is to scream victo... Pre-Rift Rant1h agoI attended or attempted to attend this event. I had also registered for another pre rift in the end of the day. When I had showed up here the store was PACKED. The store definitely cannot support the **64\*\*** players that were originally signed up, and the tables that were there were foldable tables that just sat there. The parking was atrocious as well, so much so that 30 minutes before people were already parking on the street just to have somewhere to park. The street has no designated parking at all. After entering the place was a zoo, reasonably so because I had learned that upon entering not only were they holding a 64 person tournament. They were also holding a magic tournament on ... Are we seeing a shift in how politics and sports intersect?2h agoRecent events surrounding the 2026 Super Bowl and Winter Olympics have raised questions about whether sports are increasingly being used as a primary venue for political rhetoric. Key examples: Counter-Programming: Turning Point USA hosted an "All-American Halftime Show" headlined by Kid Rock, positioned as a direct alternative to the NFL’s official Super Bowl performance by Bad Bunny. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/how-watch-turning-point-usa-alternate-halftime-show Does the rise of "alternative" halftime shows suggest that even the entertainment aspects of sports are becoming ideologically segregated?
