I just got hired as a pharmacy tech/apprenticeship at a Walgreens and I’m excited. They’re starting me off at $18/hr because I am not certified. I am nervous though because I have not had such a serious job. The pharmacist seems kind and helpful and the store manager who sat in on the interview seems cool and like she’ll be a great resource. I’ve spent years trying to find a psychiatrist who would actually listen and take my ADHD concerns seriously. People always assumed I was just trying to get meds for the wrong reasons, which was really discouraging. Now that I finally have a doctor who’s helping me, I can’t find Adderall anywhere. I’ve called so many CVS locations and independent pharmacies, and none of them have it in stock. If anyone knows of pharmacies that have it available, please let me know. I’m willing to travel—I’m just not sure what else to do at this point. :(

I am waiting on my pharmacy license to renew and I need something to work on at work so I have decided to get certified. I've just started studying for the test and I'm not sure of all the other prereqs besides passing the test. I've told my store manager I am looking into this, but I would really like to avoid talking about it to her in case I fail and would rather randomly surprise her with my certification. I saw that I might need 500 hours in pharmacy before I can take the PTCB test. If anyone has any tips on what I need to do (I'm in Illinois).

So I was hired to be with a tax in the pharmacy. The problem is that I don’t have a certification. I do have a certification, but not that certification that they want and so I get paid the least and that’s fine. They know that I’m in the medical field. Was just called for a CVS Pharmacy Tech Trainee position, and am admittedly pretty excited/nervous. This is a big opportunity for me and I really need it to work out.
