In a letter on March 4, All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) president J S Shinde and general secretary Rajiv Singhal warns that unsupervised use of GLP-1 medicines can lead to serious health complications and adverse effects. Urging the chemists to uphold ethical standards they wanted all chemists to not dispense GLP-1 drugs and injectables or any Scheduled Medicine without a valid and proper prescription. **AIOCD has asked its 12.4 lakh members (equal to 1,240,000) – chemists, pharmacists, and distributors - to ensure that GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) class of obesity and diabetic medicines, including injectables, are sold strictly against valid prescription issu...

Generic vs Branded Medicines: What’s the Difference?

2h ago

When buying medicines, you may notice that the same treatment is available under different names and prices. Some medicines are sold under well-known brand names, while others are called generic medicines and usually cost much less. This often leads to confusion among patients about whether generic medicines are as effective and safe as branded ones. Understanding the difference can help you make better healthcare decisions and save money without compromising on quality. # What Are Branded Medicines? Branded medicines are drugs that are developed and marketed by pharmaceutical companies under a specific brand name. When a company discovers and develops a new medicine, it receives a patent ...

Is it normal for doctors to prescribe or dispense something without proper labels or a list of ingredients?

3h ago

Problem/Goal: Concerned of using a provided prescription of a doctor. Context: So, recently, we had our brother checked sa isang local hospital sa Pasig. May lumabas kasing mga random rashes sa body niya. He was assigned sa “skin disease” section dun sa OPD dept ng hosp. He was checked and prescribed a certain lotion but when we tried to ask different drug stores (Mercury, Watsons, Southstar, etc), wala raw ganun kasi lotion ang nakalagay and they only have something like a cream/ointment for scalp treatment. When we went back sa doctor niya, exact words are, “Ah, wala talaga niyan sa mga pharmacy pero meron kami dito”, then, gave a bottle of lotion na nakalagay lang yung nakareseta...

Part Time Jobs

4h ago

I‘ve currently filled in two positions for CVS pharmacy, which involves basic retail stuff. Now I’m wondering about some part-time jobs around campus or at least off campus around the town. Any suggestions on occupational opportunities around on or off campus? I’m currently a pre-med major and still searching for a part time job.

For Women in Need of Quick Affordable Healthcare- Amazon One Medical Pay per Visit is a BLESSING

7h ago

I have to share this just in case someone else is struggling with medical costs. Friday into Saturday, I was feeling a little weird "down there". By Saturday afternoon, I knew it was a YEAST INFECTION!! I was in a predicament. Highways and schools were already scheduled to be closed on Monday due to the Blizzard Hernando; that turned into a bomb cyclone. So I wouldn't be able to even call a doctor until Tuesday (and its Saturday). Also, due to missed payments in the past (long story- don't judge), my (former) OBGYN no longer allows me to make an appointment there or call. I was in a situation where 1) I have no doctor anyways due to my medical bills 2) I was in a freak...

Extremely Confused, please help!

This is my first time taking this and I’m not sure what I’m looking at here and if this makes sense to anyone? Didn’t 12.5 units seem like a lot to start with? Or is it because it’s 85% concentration? I am not understanding what I’m looking at here:

Little options for escape

9h ago

I'm a 22 year old male in the US (Pennsylvania), diagnosed with ADD at 10-11 and Autism by a shady online practitioner at 20. I have no high school diploma, no drivers license, never had any money and in my car-dependent area there's nowhere I can go on foot unless I walk 3 miles to an intersection that has a bank, grocery store, and gas station nearby. My living situation was always bad to varying degrees, around 15-16 I thought about calling CPS to escape but couldn't bring myself to do it. These days it's getting too bad to continue living here. Hoarding and animal hoarding (not bad enough for law enforcement to care), extreme emotional outbursts and yelling, sabotage...

Cheating the system for their benefit

9h ago

Walmart cheating me of my money. I did a shop today and the trip qualified for one incentive and not for the other. The issue is that the trip met all the requirements both incentives. The first one said for shops and the second one said all completed offers. I need to call them tomorrow to see if I can get my money. This is not the first time they done this to me or friends.

Is it me, or did the lane markings at this turn get painted wrong?

10h ago

If you make this left turn from the far left lane, you now get forced into the turn lane following the line markings. Seems like before you were able to turn into the lane continuing straight, but it recently changed and it seems awkward. Anyone else noticing this, or is it just me?

Stockpiling Estradiol Valerate- is it okay?

10h ago

Hello nice ppl! I had a question about stockpiling estradiol valerate that I get by prescription from Pace Pharmacy. I get 2 ml 10mg/ml vials that are prescribed to Pace, and they ask to destroy them after 28 days of opening. I’ve basically ignored that and keep using it until I run out each vial, or I see something wrong with it. So far it has been working fine. The only thing I’ve noticed is that my last blood tests were a lot lower levels than usual; but they were done 1.5 months after my orchiectomy. I’m not sure if that makes a difference. Levels at trough here. Both are 1.8 mg every 3.5 days. \- 1 year ago = 1336 pmol/L \- 1 month after orchi = 583 pmol/L I think the l...

How much are you supposed to earn as a Pharmacy Tech Trainee in NYC

11h ago

I’m curious how much y’all make hourly as a pharmacy technician trainee in nyc? What’s the hardest part of the job for you? And is it a good career for those who are introverts? I have an interview tomorrow at a CVS but I am reading online that it’s not worth being a pharmacy technician. And how you can earn the same amount of money elsewhere without the mental stress it takes to be a pharmacy tech. Is this true?

Flagged by Pharmacy (should I be worried?)

12h ago

So I’ve been on 20mg Adderall ER, but told my doctor I’m crashing in the evening, so she added a 10mg ER for late afternoon. Went to Publix to pick them up and they said the 10mg was cancelled. Called my doctor and they weren’t sure why it got cancelled and after days of going back and forth between doctor and Publix - my doctor submitted to CVS instead. CVS called me and I explained everything. They said my doctor shouldn’t be doing that, but they’ll fill the 10mg this time. They said to tell my doctor not to send scripts to multiple pharmacy’s and that my file is officially “flagged”. I have no idea what that means or if I should be concerned. I live in Alabama, which prob...

YSK that major pharmacy chains are charging your insurance more for prescriptions than the cash price, and you can check...

12h ago

I found this out the hard way last month when I picked up my generic blood pressure medication. My insurance copay was $47. On a whim, I asked the pharmacist what it would cost without insurance. $12. \*\*Why YSK:\*\* Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) negotiate prices between insurance companies and pharmacies, and sometimes those negotiated rates are actually higher than the cash price. You're legally allowed to ask for the lower price, but most pharmacies won't volunteer this information because they make more money from your insurance company. This is especially common with generic medications. The system is set up so that when you hand over your insurance card, the pha...

Why don’t you unionize what’s stopping you?

13h ago

Why is it that truck drivers working with CVS Health have union representation, but store employees in Arizona and many other states do not? Truck drivers play an important role in the company, but so do the frontline workers in stores pharmacy teams, cashiers, supervisors, and managers who serve customers and patients every day. If union representation exists for one group within the company, why isn’t the same opportunity or support available for the employees working in CVS retail locations in Arizona and other states? This question is about fairness, respect, and making sure all employees have the same ability to have their voices heard regarding wages, working conditions, and workp...

The Scramble for Europe

14h ago

Last month, the German cannabis market saw its most significant consolidation deal to date, as Canadian heavyweight [Organigram announced plans to acquire Sanity Group](https://businessofcannabis.com/organigrams-e250m-acquisition-of-sanity-group-signals-major-vote-of-confidence-for-german-market/) in a deal worth up to €250m.  Given its size, especially compared to the [relatively modest acquisition of Remexian late last year](https://businessofcannabis.com/are-rivals-challenges-to-high-tides-german-entry-about-compliance-or-competition/), it’s no surprise Sanity’s deal has captured the market’s attention, driving fervent speculation that this could be the first domino to fall i...

New RxNet links and pharmacy workstation QR code

14h ago

For those of you here who were already using it, my original \[reforged\] RxNet site got blocked so I had to change the link to get it working again. desktop site: [https://matthewstathis1.github.io/rxnet/](https://matthewstathis1.github.io/rxnet/) (new!) mobile site: [https://matthewstathis1.github.io/rxnet/mobile.html](https://matthewstathis1.github.io/rxnet/mobile.html) For those of you who have never used/heard of it before, RxNet used to be the pharmacy's intranet website in the days before myReports and myDocs, and while archaic, it was lightweight, fast, and easy to find what you needed in a pinch. In the original site's spirit, I made my take on it as something that d...

Realized I have been giving Tummy Drops and not Vitamin D to six month old

15h ago

Hey everyone, so when I was 1 week pp in a fog I bought a bottle of what I thought were vitamin D drops for my baby. I asked a CVS worker where they were in the store and she handed me those and even though they said “tummy drops” I assumed it had vitamin D in them. Anyway, I have been giving them to my baby consistently and wasn’t until recently I realized they weren’t vitamin D. Is it too late to start Vitamin D now? Anyone else make this mistake and their kiddos turn out fine? Now I’m all worried my baby is going to get rickets 🙁

My family gets to ruin my life - anyone else the black sheep in their family?

because they call me abusive to everone I met. They've been able to coordinate with my workplaces, neighbors, credit card companies (through cops lying saying they have a warrant and cc companies bend over backwards for whatever police says - the police don't divulge to me they're watching me so they can't get caught and sued). I drove recklessly with my dad and sister one day after we went to an amusement park to make up after being estranged for awhile while I was in school and they said homophobic remarks \*unknbenownist to me at the time to upset me because I was an accomplice to a credit card theft again unknowlingly and committed a few petty thefts at grocery store...
