Customer comes in today demanding to speak to me about why the pharmacy was closed at 5:59 instead of 6:00. I **** to break it to you but as a front store employee, I don't have any control over when my pharmacist decides to shut the door and set that alarm. I obviously gave her the 1-800-SHOP-CVS number but that didn't get anywhere, so there I was getting close to being in a screaming match with a customer. I'm looking into breaking into the pharmacy world through SIUE with hope of breaking into specialty or compound pharmacy. My bachelor's degree is in biochemistry and biotechnology. I've been interested in compound pharmacy since working at CVS a few years ago. My current job is super unfulfilling and Ive been wanting to create pharmaceuticals or go into various cancer/degenerative diseases research since high school. Is PharmD the correct way to go, do you think? I have no opposition to working retail (of course, not my first choice, it is no one's hahaha) or working in hospital environments.

So at my store cashiers get $14 and they say the pharmacy technicians who aren't certified can get $16.50.. all the other certified pharm techs have said they get $20 or more an hour since they came certified.. would it be wiser to get the certification first and then apply to be back there so I can make more or would I only get the $16.50 since I would have no experience either way

This is weird and long. Sorry. How easy would it be to switch out the vaccines at the minute clinic and give me the wrong thing? Back story. I want to preface this by acknowledging the situations we are all in regarding hours cuts, staffing shortages, etc. My store in particular is *mostly* ok day-to-day, and the schedules I draft meet the standards that CVS puts forth with the mTC scorecard. For those working at Walgreens pharmacy WITHOUT Cenfill — what do you usually do when the fill count is 200+? Do you typically “store” or stage some prescriptions ahead of time to stay afloat, or is there another workflow or strategy you rely on to manage that kind of volume? We have Pharmacy floaters who typically who don’t F4s all the way out until they see next store and gets us backed up for next day.

Asking about out of a bit of worry. I recently picked up my recent Ozempic prescription from my local Walgreens Pharmacy. However, when they handed it to me, it was from their wall with baskets for pills and stuff, not from their refrigerator.
