Just want to know if anyone else was having this issue at their locations today?... I'm a Pharmacy Technician, I worked the drive thru for 5 hours today and came across this issue 3 times. My store is currently severely understaffed (some quit, others are out for medical reasons) so we are perpetually 12-48 hours behind. Today was a 48 hours behind kind of day... Hey everyone, I'm wondering if there's a reason why this keeps happening with my meds. I ask the techs and they just tell me to keep waiting. First, I understand pharmacy is very stressful. I'm not mad at the techs. I genuinely just want to know what's going on so that I can get my meds on time. Initiated transfer of my Duoneb (for asthma) meds on 2/4 from cvs to acme pharmacy. Because I haven’t heard anything (and cvs system showed transferred) I drove over to acme to ask. They said they never got it. Walked over to cvs and they said it’s transferred (and inactive) and out of their hands. I’m dumbfounded because either one of them should have it or the other. i was prescribed estrogen patch and my local pharmacy CVS is out of that medication. my NP advised me to call other pharmacies to see which one has it in stock. has anyone had better luck calling other national chains like Walmart or Walgreens or to contact smaller pharmacies? this is my first time dealing with this and I already have the anxiety about being on the phone so any advice would be greatly appreciated! I've also bought nail polish at stores, like Walmart, CVS, Five Below. etc and I'm interested in looking at indie brands to build my collection. RXMs don’t report directly to store managers, they don’t even report to the district managers anymore. Why would the SM support pharmacy if they’re in a pinch up front? Hope this doesn’t get deleted, because I really need some genuine help here. I’m back on ADHD meds for the first time since 2020. I’m surprised to learn that, post pandemic, there are frequent shortages of my drug of choice (Vyvanse, 30 ML, extended releases). The last two times I’ve tried to fill it at the Walgreens on Knick, I was told over and over that it wasn’t coming in. Finally, I had to have my mother fill it for me back home and mail it. I'm having surgery on Monday and my doctor just sent my post op meds in. My surgeon and his team was pretty clear about needing to pick the meds up prior to the surgery. My doctor isn't really changing my meds except increasing the quantity of my instant release. It just got sent in and CVS immediately auto rejected stating it was too soon to fill and they'll try again on the 19th, which really means the 20th. Is there anything my pharmacy team can do about this as my surgeon made it clear that I needed these filled beforehand and if I were to increase my instant to 4 x a day from the day of surgery I would runout before the say they can fill it again.
