Got in VT for Biology Major Pre-Med track but wanted to hear currently med-school student or pre-med experience on their...

1h ago

VT was my dream school during high school and I got in for transfer as a bio major, however when I first applied in high school I had the intent of a CS major so now things are a bit different. I wanted to hear more about how clinical and shadowing opportunities were like at VT and how hard it was to land those experiences? I'm so stuck as I do want to commit to VT but VCU and W&M seem a lot better for clinical opportunities. Also as a side note I was wondering if the local CVS or Christianburg Walmart pharmacy would hire students, I currently have my pharm tech certificate and wanted to make some cash on the side for apartments. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Do you think empty shelves will last another decade or less?

My kids have been into pokemon for about two years now. It’s been a struggle. Every holiday, every birthday, every chore reward. All they want is cards, and we’ve been able to get them every so often but majority of the time it’s just nothing. I went to Target today because a friend told me there would be some. The line was to the back of the store! Waited in it, didn’t get anything even with the 2 per item limit- people were jumping back in line with people they knew and getting more. Asked a few men in the line if they knew any way or when other places restock and they just laughed at me. Hit dollar general, CVS, Lowe’s, Barnes and Noble, Walmart, BoxLunch. Empty empty empty. I...

1st Girl Dinner post for a pretty bleh day

3h ago

Started off strong with a root canal right at 10am, drove myself back, then spent $50 at CVS on pain medication. I came home, passed out for a nap, and woke up to a stomach ache and 2 messages: 1: my favorite store to shop at for accessories is closing all locations in my state 💔 2: the nonprofit I’m designing graphics for chose to use some AI slop instead of the flyer I spent 4 hours on the night prior :( Just an icky day, hopefully a good ending with my noodles and bread <3 happy Tuesday!

Why People Don't Ask Others On Dates In Real Life Anymore?

4h ago

Especially people under age 50...years ago people met their spouses at the grocery store, department store, singles bar, night club, work, friends, from family members, on the airplane, the pharmacy, at walmart, the train, the taxi cab, in the elevator, even pumping gasoline in their cars. It made a woman feel special and a man fee like he was a man and a Savior because he put a smile on her face and she was flattered, it made her feel good and the guy feel good. Even if things did not work out both people felt better and brightened their day because it happened. But younger people today don't talk to anyone, they seem to be afraid of their own shadow and are more into themselves. ...

I'm getting really tired of seeing those "70% off!" banners only to find the original price was hiked last week, or that it's actually still cheaper at another store. It feels like a constant battle against marketing departments trying to trick us into thinking we're getting a deal when we're often just paying market price – or worse, *more*. I've started putting in the legwork to actually vet deals before buying, and honestly, the savings add up. It takes a little extra time, but knowing I'm not getting played makes it worth it. Here are a few recent finds where a bit of digging paid off: * **Kitchen Gadget (Air Fryer):** This model popped up ev...

Recommend a pharmacy?

4h ago

Can anyone recommend a pharmacy in town? I don't need anything special, just some place that is functional. I've tried CVS (Pearl St), Walgreens (28th), Safeway and King Soopers, and all have been a nightmare - unable to fulfill prescriptions, mistakes with insurance, closed during regular business hours ("no pharmacist on duty"), long lines, doesn't answer the phone, etc, etc. ****, Walgreens has had a broken front door for over a month and hasn't bothered to fix it. Help?

CVS is not helpful

5h ago

The new phone system for core stores is terrible. We just want to speak to a pharmacy employee to see if they have a prescription item in stock. Run around, "we don't recognise your phone number. We'll text you back" WTH. We are calling from another CVS. Wish I knew a direct line phone number.

How do I stop obsessing over my looks so much?

5h ago

I (19F) was a real ugly ducking in High School. Acne, greasy hair, chubby, terrible dress sense, etc. You get the picture. I got basically zero male attention. But at the time, it didn't bother me, because I went to an all-girls school and didn't really feel the "pressure" to be pretty. But over the summer, a few months before starting university, I suddenly freaked out because I realised that ******, I'd be around guys for the first time. I never really cared about my appearance growing up because I wasn't around many guys anyway. But having still not had my first kiss at 18, I was beginning to feel quite lonely and very behind most of my friends, 80% of whom h...

Disposable Camera Developer

6h ago

Bless CVS and Walgreens, but I need a professional. I’ve got a wedding/reception used disposable camera and I’d much rather hire a local professional to develop and print these. Don’t mind if it’s obviously more than the standard store price. Any and all suggestions are welcome!

A mix of things in life and refurnishing 2 kids rooms made me live in constant anxiety with overload of things. I don’t / didn’t think we even had alot, but it is just everywhere. In the last week or so: Sold clothes from 0–1.5 years to friends brother for 50€ (just wanted them gone) Published im giving away few furniture pieces, toys, random items and one lady came and picked everything same day (we live in a village so thats amazin) - i asked for nothing back, the lady gave eqch of my kids 5€ for icecream money. Very cute.. Filled up a big shopping bag of great wooden toys to give to a hospital. Filled up another box with toys that kids just dont play anymore. We get kids ...

ATS myth buster

7h ago

The ATS panic: what’s actually true, and what isn’t. If you’ve spent any time on job search forums, you’ve probably seen the claim that 75% of CVs are automatically rejected by software before a human reads them. It’s caused a lot of anxiety, and a whole cottage industry of “ATS hacks” has followed it. Here’s the problem: that statistic traces back to a company called Preptel, which ceased trading in 2013 and produced the figure without a formal research methodology behind it. It’s not peer-reviewed data. It spread because it was alarming, not because it was verified. What the research actually shows: About 92% of recruiters say their ATS is not set up to automatically ...

Pharmacy Tech transition to Intern

8h ago

Hello everybody, I am currently a pharmacy tech at a store. I have recently been accepted into pharmacy school and really want to work as an intern at a hospital. Would it be best to attempt to work as a full-time tech over the summer at a hospital, telling the interviewer that I want to become an intern in the near future or do I just notify them if I do get the job? Was just wondering for some advice on this.
