Only worked in one pharmacy – what do your pharmacies do during slow periods?

3h ago

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some ideas and perspective from other techs. I’ve only ever worked in one pharmacy, and it’s in a pretty remote area, so our workflow is probably slower than what a lot of you experience in busier urban stores. Recently I got promoted into more of a supervisory/manager role in the dispensary. Honestly it wasn’t because I’m some super qualified expert — we’ve had a lot of staff turnover, so I’ve kind of grown into the role as people left. The owners have been asking me to brainstorm ideas for things the team can do when the pharmacy is slow (organization, workflow improvements, projects, etc.). The thing is, since I’ve only ever worked in this...

Where can I buy Taltz (ixekizumab) biologic injection in Bangalore, India?

5h ago

I'm trying to find Taltz (ixekizumab) injection in Bangalore for psoriasis treatment. I already have a valid prescription from my hometown, but when I checked the Apollo Pharmacy app it shows out of stock in multiple locations in bangalore. I can't travel to hometown soon but cannot miss the next dose. Does anyone know which hospital pharmacy or medical store in Bangalore stocks it? Or places that can order it with a prescription?

What K-beauty did you bring back from Korea?

6h ago

I just got back from a trip to Seoul and honestly spent way too much time in Olive Young 😅 I already liked K-beauty before the trip, but seeing everything in person was kind of overwhelming. I ended up bringing back a bunch of stuff people kept recommending in stores and online. So far I’ve tried a few things from Beauty of Joseon (their sunscreen is still amazing) and also picked up some TIRTIR and Medicube products because I kept seeing them everywhere in Korea. One thing I grabbed out of curiosity was a cream from a Korean pharmacy skincare brand called Centellian24. Apparently it’s pretty well known locally and focuses on skin barrier / recovery type products. I’ve only been...

Digital price tags are rolling out across Australian stores

6h ago

Paper shelf labels are being replaced by **electronic shelf labels (ESLs)** in supermarkets, hardware stores, bottle shops and pharmacies. ## Millions already installed A regional chemist in NSW switched to ESLs about a year ago. Previously staff spent around **10 hours every week** replacing hundreds of paper price labels. Now prices update **twice a day in seconds**. The tags are roughly business-card sized e-ink displays that cost about **$8 each** and can run **up to 10 years on one battery**. Costs have dropped sharply in recent years, driving adoption. Industry estimates suggest around one third of Australian retailers could be using ESLs by 2030. ## Major chains are rolling them...

One small cap that’s been quietly assembling a serious digital healthcare platform is Vulcan Two Plc (VUL). The company listed in autumn, raising £11m at IPO, and recently completed another £40m raise at £2 per share to execute a buy-and-build strategy in the UK ePharmacy / digital pharmacy sector. The businesses include: CloudRx – One of the largest digital private prescription dispensers by volume in the UK. Revenue has scaled rapidly from £5.4m in 2021 to £23.2m e...

Super Recognizer

He never forgot a face. It was both a blessing and a curse, this particular gift. A blessing because it made him exceptional at what he did. A curse because it meant he carried every face he had ever encountered, catalogued and filed in a mental archive that never stopped expanding. The condition had rules. He had to have direct interaction with a person to remember them. A conversation, however brief. Eye contact. Some moment of connection, even if it was only the second it took for someone to register fear. After that, the face was permanent. Indelible. He could recall it years later with perfect clarity, down to the smallest detail. He was at the coffee shop near his office when he saw...

First $50 tip ever

10h ago

From a CVS order that was 1.8 miles/4 minutes from the store for just 2 packs of Alka-Seltzer. I'm feeling blessed indeed 🥰 As an added bonus this shop knocked off 3 items that were affecting my rating now I'm back to 100%

How do people handle staying in an Airbnb during recovery?

10h ago

If you’re staying in an Airbnb while recovering, how does that usually work in practice? I imagine the first few days can be a bit challenging with swelling, low energy, and needing to go back to the clinic for follow-up visits. Did you try to find a place within walking distance of the clinic, or did you rely on taxis? And how important was it to have things nearby like convenience stores, pharmacies, or places to get simple food? I’m also wondering about the day-to-day side of it. For example: - Was it easy enough to manage things like getting meals or groceries while recovering? - Did you wish you had picked a place with certain things (like an elevator, quieter building, closer l...

Walgreens new dress code

11h ago

Walgreens enforcing new dress code and rules. Most of the info is nothing new. But what I am mad about is that the shirts must be blue polo and I’m like what about the other blue tshirts I spend my money on getting it at the Walgreens website. I also can’t wear a regular jacket, I have to get a Walgreens jacket. No sweatpants (I wear a black one that doesn’t look like sweatpants). After all these years working at Walgreens, my store is getting very strict about these rules. What are your thoughts?

What Should Travelers Prepare Before Nyepi in Bali?

11h ago

I’ve been living in Bali for three years, and during that time, I’ve experienced three Nyepi celebrations. Each year, the Nyepi experience brings a different atmosphere, but one thing that always remains the same is the total silence that envelops the entire island. For those visiting Bali for the first time during Nyepi, there are a few things you need to prepare in advance to ensure a comfortable holiday. Based on my personal experience, here are a few things you should consider before experiencing Nyepi in Bali. # 1. Stock Up on Essentials One of the first things I always prepare for Nyepi is making sure I have enough food and drink. Since all restaurants and stores are closed, you ...

Medavie Blue Cross: specialty pharmacy?

11h ago

Hi Reddit: My workplace is switching from GreenShield (which I didn’t **** as an insurance company) to Medavie Blue Cross and I’m not very happy about this change because I’ve dealt with Blue Cross on a provider side of things in the past and they were awful. I’ve also had issues with trying to find places that direct bill to blue cross before too, so yay for me. Anyways, my question is: For specialty authorization medication (as I’m on a few), which drug store do they use specifically? Shoppers tends to be Greenshields special one and they only approve 100% coverage through shoppers, but does Blue Cross also do this as well? I need to know if I have to switch my meds to a d...

I’m still new at my job — is it unreasonable to request 3 unpaid days off to see my long-distance boyfriend?

12h ago

I work in a grocery store pharmacy as a pharmacy clerk and started December 10, 2025, so I’m still pretty new. I’m off every other Saturday, and on that weekend I also normally have Sunday off. I just saw my boyfriend 2 days ago but I already miss him a lot since he lives far away. For my last visit, I let the pharmacist know ahead of time not to schedule me Saturday and Sunday (which are normally my days off), and I also wrote on the calendar that I could only stay until 3pm on Friday so I could go to the airport. He was okay with that. Now I’m wondering if it would be okay to request Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off (unpaid) about 2 weeks in advance, and then ask not to be schedul...

Omnitrope - Costco

12h ago

Hi all! I know being part of the IVF life can be hard -especially finding info about medications, so this post is intented to inform others how I got around to obtaining two Onmitrope/Human Growth Hormone vials for almost $300 in Illinois. I was first told of the Costo workaround by my own REI, so shout to her! Anyhow, once I got to the point in my cycle where I had to order the meds for my egg retrieval, I did a lot of prelim research on Omnitrope, as I was told by my REI it leaned on the pricey side, hence the Costco suggestion. My specialty pharmacy is CVS but they didn't cover it and the estimated cost for two 5.8mg vials was nearly $700. I instead did some more digging and found ...

Cvs vs walgreens

13h ago

Hi, I have been pharmacist for a year and half. I have worked them in independent pharmacy, it was a lot of manual work however i loved it, not crazy fast paced but store closed. I am now have offer from both walgreens and cvs; both floater pharmacist both nearly same pay. I am worried about the fast pace and errors, i don't mind working in different stores but i am trying to choose the less of two evils i am torn. I love being a pharmacist but my anxiety catches up to me every now and then which makes me triple check everything.
