Pharmacy recommendations in South Philly for ADHD meds and HRT?

1h ago

Hey all long time lurker first time caller. I'm getting so sick of playing the game with Acme and CVS/Walgreens pharmacies about my backordered meds and I'm hoping to find something more local or mom and pop, or at least chains with less judgmental pharmacists 😅 I am looking for a place that doesn't just abandon me and leave me in the silent void when my Vyvanse or Alprazolam isn't in stock. Also a place that isn't super weird about Testosterone. Any recommendations?

has anyone else seen this?

Estrogen patch shortage

1h ago

i was prescribed estrogen patch and my local pharmacy CVS is out of that medication. my NP advised me to call other pharmacies to see which one has it in stock. has anyone had better luck calling other national chains like Walmart or Walgreens or to contact smaller pharmacies? this is my first time dealing with this and I already have the anxiety about being on the phone so any advice would be greatly appreciated! I am located in Northern California, USA.

Read Heart Health Pills My Hubby Bought? His Widowed Sister-in-Law Was the Patient Novel By Readora

1h ago

I got back from a business trip that night. The CVS pharmacy I usually go to called and said my membership card had been declined at checkout that afternoon, and I needed to add funds to it. Feeling overwhelmed

3h ago

I've also bought nail polish at stores, like Walmart, CVS, Five Below. etc and I'm interested in looking at indie brands to build my collection. I have a lot of the basic colors so I want some polishes that are more interesting (magnets, shimmer, jelly). I've been looking through the sub for ideas of brands to look at but tbh it's overwhelming and idk where to start! What would be the best brand for quality polishes that are more interesting than your basic shades/formulas? TIA!

One box mentality going away?

3h ago

With the regional call today, the RVP said that the “one box” mentality is still in play. But I can’t help but wonder how will that be possible? RXMs don’t report directly to store managers, they don’t even report to the district managers anymore. Why would the SM support pharmacy if they’re in a pinch up front? Why would they send the IS back if they’re busy doing resets? Why send back the DH for IC3’s? Curious on other people’s thoughts.

Overnight Alcohol Orders in Texas

3h ago

I don't know how Alcohol sales work in other states--and I'm never a drinker. But here in Texas, the state law prohibits anyone from ordering alcoholic beverages outside of regulated hours. In this case, 7AM to 12 Midnight weekdays, 7AM to 1AM Saturdays, and 10AM to 12 Midnight on Sundays. With that said, here's my story: I didn't have a good start on Doordash late last night/earlier this morning. Had to turn down the first 2 orders at CVS because they all ordered alcoholic beverages, and per state law in Texas, they can't be sold overnight. Even if it was possible to obtain said item(s), the cashier system cannot scan them, and store personnel can't override t...

okay Bushwick, I need your help!

6h ago

Hope this doesn’t get deleted, because I really need some genuine help here. I’m back on ADHD meds for the first time since 2020. I’m surprised to learn that, post pandemic, there are frequent shortages of my drug of choice (Vyvanse, 30 ML, extended releases). The last two times I’ve tried to fill it at the Walgreens on Knick, I was told over and over that it wasn’t coming in. Finally, I had to have my mother fill it for me back home and mail it. It was more expensive this way, ($300+) because that pharmacy doesn’t accept GoodRX. Same thing seems to be playing out this month at Walgreens. I just called CVS to see if they had it; they too said they were back ordered. They sugg...

Upcoming surgery, pharmacy is trying to say my post op meds are too soon to fill

6h ago

I'm having surgery on Monday and my doctor just sent my post op meds in. My surgeon and his team was pretty clear about needing to pick the meds up prior to the surgery. My doctor isn't really changing my meds except increasing the quantity of my instant release. It just got sent in and CVS immediately auto rejected stating it was too soon to fill and they'll try again on the 19th, which really means the 20th. Is there anything my pharmacy team can do about this as my surgeon made it clear that I needed these filled beforehand and if I were to increase my instant to 4 x a day from the day of surgery I would runout before the say they can fill it again.

savings card vs my sanity

6h ago

Okay I feel like I'm losing my mind. My doctor renewed my prescription, which I have always gotten at whatever pharmacy (cvs, costco, whatever) with a savings card, self pay, no insurance coverage. (I have insurance but they won't cover it) I went to download a new savings card, and I keep going in circles because no matter what it tries to get you to purchase it through Lily Direct. Has anyone figured out how to get the regular old savings card? I feel like I'm missing something very obvious here.

Experts warn against ‘worrying’ rise in dangerous weight-loss ‘jab hacks’

6h ago

Experts have warned those on [weight-loss injections](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/weight-loss-drugs-licensed-wegovy-mounjaro-b2897555.html) against trying “jab hacks” like taking tiny doses or buying the medication from illegitimate sources. Almost half of the 1.6 million people on weight-loss medication in the UK say they have either dabbled with dangerous techniques such as “microdosing” (32 per cent) or turned to unlicensed drugs and sellers (28 per cent) as the price of the medication rises, according to a survey by LloydsPharmacy Online Doctor. One woman named Amy, whose name has been changed to protect her identity, explained she [takes small doses ](https:/...

Does Anyone Know How to Re-Tie a Belly Button?

7h ago

Trigger warnings: Self-harm, delusions, obsessive thinking, compulsive self harm Don't tell me to go to a doctor. I don't have health insurance, and I definitely can't afford to go to a hospital over my belly button. Besides, it can't be that hard to tie a new one. People did it for millenia before modern medicine. Someone can send me instructions or a video tutorial, and I should be good to go. Let me explain what’s happening anyway, just in case it’s important. About two months ago, I was laying in bed scrolling tiktok when I came across a video talking about how some people actually feel it in their *** when someone touches their belly button. Of course, I did wh...

Insurance Twin Mix-up

8h ago

Location: Maine The only specific detail I will divulge is the name of the insurance company, all other information will be generalized to protect patient confidentiality. My (soon to be) wife is a twin in her 20s, and is currently faced with a major, at least from our perspective, issue regarding potential identity protection/HIPPA violations. She is covered under a family policy, specifically for prescriptions, by Care-Mark/CVS. She and her twin have very different medical profiles and require EXTREMELY different medications. Recently, both her and her twin have tried to access CVS pharmacy, only to find out that their information has been meshed. As you can assume, they have the same bi...

Looking for the next city

* Four seasons, but winter highs usually above 40°F and summers mostly under 85°F, with some real “windows open” days each month. * Within 20 minutes of a swimmable ocean beach by car or train, but not in a frequent flood or evacuation zone. * A 4-bedroom house for under $2,500/month in a safe neighborhood, with in-unit laundry and decent natural light. * Daily errands walkable: grocery store, pharmacy, and at least one café or casual restaurant within a 10–15 minute walk. * Public transit with service every 10–20 minutes at rush hour and at least every 30 minutes late evening on main lines. * At least one park of 20+ acres within 20 minutes, plus smaller pocket parks or tree-lin...

Take the Offer or Hold Out? Walmart vs. CVS

9h ago

Hi, longtime lurker, first-time poster. I have both my national and state pharmacy technician licenses, but I don’t have much hands-on experience working in a pharmacy yet. I’ve recently received a job offer from CVS, and I also just completed an interview with Walmart that went really well. I genuinely liked the manager at CVS, they were kind and seem like they’d be willing to train me. But I’m not sure whether I should go ahead and complete the paperwork for CVS or wait to see if Walmart reaches out with an offer. Should I hold out a bit longer for a potential Walmart offer, or take the opportunity that’s already sitting in my inbox?
