Hello - I'm fairly newly diagnosed with ADHD and have never used prescriptions before other than one time antibiotics so forgive my ignorance ahead of time with these topics or if I butcher any related terminology. I travel full time for work which can take to any of the 50 US States for 1-3 month stints, sometime longer. I believe pharmacy stores (CVS, walgreens etc) always bring in the kookiest people. I’ll always remember this one frail old lady who would come in right when we opened a bought a big box of Franzia white, then again at around 2/3pm, then finally 10 minutes before we closed. Three years ago I don't think I really knew my father was developing dementia. I was just puzzled why he couldn't understand how deductions from his social security worked. Need some advice from anyone local who’s dealt with ADHD medication shortages. I usually use Capsule for all my prescriptions, but the only ADHD medication I’ve been able to consistently get there is name-brand Adderall XR, which is costing me $200+ a month. My doctor recently tried switching me to Adderall IR, but Capsule doesn’t carry it. I’ve also tried looking into Vyvanse with no luck. I know there’s a nationwide shortage, but I’m feeling stuck. I’ve already called 10+ pharmacies and mostly just get told they don’t have anything in stock. It was 3-21-2025 and the 16th anniversary of one of the best days of my life. It was one of the only things that day that was positive. I had my spine fused at L-4 and L-5 on 11-06-2024 and was in physical therapy and regaining mobility and experiencing less pain and side effects. OK, so it’s been about a month and a week since I started being a pharmacy tech. I’ve never had any experience with medicine or pharmacy before, and this is only my second job. I think I’ve been doing pretty good overall, but there are still a lot of things I struggle with For example, when filling prescriptions, the way I count is kind of like “3 + 2 = 5,” and then I keep adding another 5 instead of counting all 5 at once.
