NYC/long Island meds donation

4h ago

I have leuprolide and novarel: Leuprolide 2wk 14 kit — expires 3/31/2026 (note: this was free for me; the pharmacy sent an extra one bc it wasn’t shipped overnight and temperature went above 80 degrees the day it was shipped but it’s supposed to be stored below 77°) 2 5000 unit novarel — 1 unit was donated to me, expires 9/2026 1 unit i purchased from a pharmacy, also expires 9/2026 Both novarel should be at 68-77° with some excursions permitted. I’m 90 percent sure my home temp didn’t go outside this range while I’ve had these (\~ since last July) Edit: also have 2 ganirelix expiring this month!

Is it ok to keep a job with haram in it until I get a more halal one?

5h ago

Assalaamu ‘alaikum I live in the US. So I finally got a job. I’ve been working there for a few days but the work has haram aspects to it. It’s a clothing store that also sells home items and etc. Some clothing may be haram pictures and revealing clothing women wear. However since I’m a guy they have me doing the heavy stuff. I work in the back open boxes sometimes taking things to sales floor etc. Most of my co workers are female and I’m a male and I didn’t expect that. It is a fitnah but since it’s Ramadan my desire more under control. Also, there’s something I absolutely **** so much man. Some of the boxes I open and take to the sales floor are like paintings portraits ...

Major SSRI Symptoms?

5h ago

For context I (F24) have been in sertraline for over two years. I was getting my 100 mg prescription delivered from Optum Rx, but when my doctor lowered my dosage to 50mg, I kept the same prescription and just broke them in half per my doctor and therapist. However those ran out and because I had different insurance I had to get mine from a local pharmacy. They fill my script and I start taking those (Aurobindo). Due to prices of my other drugs I switch pharmacies to CVS and they accidentally refilled my sertraline AGAIN, but these are Cipla manufactured I started taking the Aurobindo 50mg sertraline pills and ever since I switched to those, I’ve had the worst symptoms. I have chronic...

A big pharmacy retail chain went to Private Equity in 2025 - what has changed?

7h ago

I’m a pharmacist, but I don’t work retail/outpatient. I’ve gone down a rabbit hole of Private Equity in Healthcare. In August 2025, a private equity firm finalized its acquisition of a large pharmacy retail chain. I am purposely avoiding using business names so that responses won’t show up in general searches (in hopes to avoid anyone getting reprimanded by their company. Can’t be too careful these days). What significant changes have been made/announced at your store or in your market since August 2025? How have these changes affected your day-to-day job? How have these changes impacted patient care?

How to calculate the quantity and day's supply on creams, ointments, solutions, inhalers, and pens. Particularly in...

11h ago

I've been a pharmacy tech for a little over three weeks and they've just started me on Inputs. We're a busy store and I'm mostly left to learn this myself. Every time I see a script for a non-pill/capsule, I panic. I haven't been given the proper training and my PTU is suppose to start next week. I'm not sure how to calculate the written quantity and day's supply of the following product types: 1. Cream/ointments 2. Solutions 3. Inhalers 4. Pens Would anyone please give me a challenging example of each and how to solve it? I know that Connexus requires whole numbers and so rounding is sometimes required. Otherwise, I'm lost. I would apprecia...

I am lost. I am scared of the future.

11h ago

I am currently at a point in my life where I am questioning what path I should take next. I am 21 years old and about to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science, but I still feel unsure about what I want to do afterward. My original plan was to apply to pharmacy school, but unfortunately I missed the application deadline. On top of that, I do not have many strong connections with professors in that area, so I worry about being able to secure recommendation letters for the next application cycle. Right now, I work in customer service and sales in a retail store. That experience has helped me build valuable skills like communication, problem-solving, and working with differe...

Walking aids accessibility

11h ago

Hi everyone, I have recently suffered a foot injury that is giving me some anxiety about my upcoming trip to Taiwan in a couple of weeks. I am looking for any stores that would sell a crutch or a cane/ foldable walking stick so I can have something to aid me walking, as I know Taipei is very walkable and "walk heavy" as I like to call it. Would a pharmacy have these ready to go? And if so could they be had for a reasonable price.

Where to buy SmarTrip cards ticket - rechargeable?

11h ago

Hello, Google search says, " * **Metro Station Kiosks:** Fare vending machines at all Metrorail stations. * **Retailers:** CVS Pharmacy, Giant Food, and Safeway stores. " I stay in DC for about a week or two weeks. Last time when I visited DC, I did not actively look for the Kiosks for SmarTrip Cards. Somehow my Google wallet worked. But I used to use plastic physical cards for a long time, If I got off of the airport for example, can I just look for the nearest CVS or Safeway? Thanks.

A Local Medicine and some of it’s History

12h ago

I recently dug this old medicine bottle, and quickly realized I had recognized the name “Streeper”. I had seen it before on topographical maps of my area. I couldn’t find this exact bottle anywhere online, so I did some more digging and found out the history you can read in the image above. The building is really cool, and the fact that it’s still standing is even cooler.

Guide - Easy Progression Tracking

12h ago

Ok I hesitate a little to post this as I’m just a year into my weight lifting journey, but I wanted to help anyone like me struggling with MF Work Outs progress. Here’s the guide… In the MacroFactor Workout App 1. Open the app 2. Click the “more” on the bottom right 3. Scroll down and pick “Data Export” 4. Go to the “Granular Export” tab 5. Scroll all the way to the bottom. Select timeframe (I picked all time), then click “Export Workout Log”. 6. Store the CVS file somewhere you will remember it. In a browser or your phone 1. Go to Google Gemini (you may have to sign in) 2. Upload your CSV from MFWO and use a prompt like the one I used “Does this show progre...

5 days in Taipei with a 15L — Mammut Xeron Rolltop

13h ago

Short trip from Japan. Warm weather + big city made this pretty straightforward. Sometimes you only need the bare minimum and can stock up later. Bag: Mammut Xeron 15 rolltop Thin profile, doesn’t bulge much, so packing flat and minimal works best. Packed: • 2 sets clothes • 2 socks + underwear • All in one compression cube • Passport • Wallet • 40w usbc charger + magnetic rollup cable • laptop • Chapstick • Tissues • Basic meds That was basically the entire load. Worn: • Normal outfit • Hat (also worked as an eye mask on the plane) Bought there: • One T-shirt • Toothbrush I intentionally underpacked because it’s a major cit...

Insurance covering 60% of Wegovy cost, they also said to get the discount card. Anyone doing this?

13h ago

We guys, my PCP has me on Marjourno now as a sample and wrote a script for Zepbound. My FEB Anthem insurance said they would not cover it unless i was a type2 Diabetic. Ive had convos with my insurance company and they said they would cover Wegovy at 40% and I could get the discount card from the manufacturer to reduce the cost. I use CVS pharmacy and can switch to Costco if needed but wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me and also if using the discount with paying out of pocket 60% of the drug what would the discount card do? My other option is Saxenda's generic called Liraglutide which they would cover and would only cost $15/month but you reuse the pen, have to exchange...
