When did CVS as a company start really going downhill.

We might all agree it really turned south during the pandemic. But I think it really started to go south when they forced us to push Carepass on every person we encountered.

Retail managers who successfully pivoted out, I’d love your advice.

3h ago

Retail managers who successfully pivoted out I’d love your advice. I’m graduating soon and entering a Store Manager in Training role at CVS. Retail isn’t my end goal, but it’s a stable opportunity, and I want to be strategic about how I use it. If you transitioned out of retail management: \- How long did you stay before pivoting? \- Where did you end up (corporate, ops, PM, HR, etc.)? \- What made the transition easier or harder? \- Anything you’d do differently? I’m also planning to pursue higher education (MSIS or MSHI) and debating whether staying within the same company or moving externally makes more sense long term.

Advice on SMIT/SM Positions

3h ago

I’m graduating soon and received an offer for the CVS Store Manager in Training (SMIT) program. Right now, this is my only offer so I’m seriously considering it for job security. I wanted to hear from people who’ve gone through the SMIT program or became Store Managers at CVS: \- How was your experience? \- Did you feel the role was worth it? \- What do you wish you knew before starting? \- How did you prepare before Day 1? Long term, I’d like to pivot into something beyond store-level retail if possible, so I’m also curious if anyone has successfully moved into corporate or non-store roles after SMIT. Any honest insight (good or bad) would be appreciated.

Front Store is not Pharmacy's *****

4h ago

Our pharmacy is FULLY staffed. I mean they have 10 people at all times. Front Store is lucky to have 2 people. Our pharmacy staff acts like FS staff are there to work for THEM. They need bags? They can't be bothered to send one of their ten people to get the box. Out of register paper? Nope. They call us and tell us they need some. When we tell them "hey, it's just a manager and a cashier right now. We can't help you" they get angry and demand we stop what we are doing to help them. Now I know what you're thinking. Maybe they don't know where the supples are! They do. I've personally shown them multiple times. They don't want to spare a sin...

Trying to find the manufacturer or more supply of this foot scrubber for a friend. It’s a Rough Pink Pumice like Material with plastic and rubber base for use in the shower. Concave and convex portions. 7” x 3” x 1 1/4” in size. Was originally bought at a Walgreens Pharmacy, but unsure if it was store brand or as see on TV brand. Only print is China on the Bottom.

From D.Pharm to BPT: Career guidance needed

8h ago

Hi everyone, I’m currently in my second year of D.Pharm, and my pharmacy course is about to finish. After a lot of thinking I’ve realized that I don’t want to continue my career in pharmacy Instead I’m planning to take admission in BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) because I feel more interested in this field and want to grow in it long term. My future plan is to: • Open a medical store • Run a physiotherapy clinic • Work in a hospital as a physiotherapist I would really like to know if this is a good career path. Has anyone here switched from pharmacy to physiotherapy or knows someone who has? I’d really appreciate honest advice about: • Scope of physiotherapy • Career g...

Freezing

13h ago

Does your store have heat?!!! My store is freezing cold not just chilly. The heat cannot be functional. I refuse to pay $80 for a jacket to wear in pharmacy and the scrubs are paper thin. It was so bad the other day that my nose was running nonstop, I was shivering uncontrollably, and couldn’t think straight. I’m not the only one freezing. There was no difference between store temp and outside (calling for snow). DM stopped by and SFL mentioned it to them and was told it’s hard to heat a large building and just shrugged it off. Patients/customers have complained. I started wearing two pairs of fleece lined leggings and shirts under my scrubs and gloves. I’m using pocket warmers and s...

Deductible and OOP max

13h ago

Hello! Much like everyone else, my insurance skyrocketed this year. My deductible is around $6000 and my max oop is around $8000. My doctor sent in prescriptions to cvs (med was 1200) and another into optum specialty pharmacy (med was 3900). My insurance app is saying I have paid $5000 and have just under 1000 left until I meet my deductible. I did not pick up the medications bc they’re too expensive (I am working on a diff and cheaper med with my dr don’t worry lol). Will the “payment” stay in my insurances info or will the pharmacies notify them that I did not pick the medications up? I don’t want to end up owing the insurance company any money and tbh I don’t even want to pay...

I have to choose between financial stability and my mental health, I dont know what to do.

13h ago

to start off as well, I struggle on many aspects, I know I do, im autistic and I miss alot of social cues but Ive been working on them with a psychologist. the first day at a pastry shop my manager scolded me for using 5oz of milk instead of 4 and said I practically ruined the whole thing. then another time I was cleaning the station because the day was extremely slow and he yelled at me, saying that he never told me to clean the tables and if I was too blind to see that he already cleaned it. I could handle that but then he told me how fast I could do dishes, I was honest and said the question confused me because I never timed myself and he immediately grabbed his watch and told me he w...

does anyone else wish that more places would be open 24/7?

13h ago

This not only goes for Toronto but also for the entire GTA area, invluding vaughan, mississauga, etociboke, etc. I'm not really talking about like, restaurants, when I say I wish more places would be open all day and night, but rather stuff like gyms, grocery stores, pharmacies, arcades/karaoke, maybe some small stores and food places.... night owls and people who work night shifts are often stuck in this limbo of being awake at night with nothing to do, and sleeping during the day when everywhere is open. I kind of understand that people do need a break from work, and that hiring and scheduling more people to work would be a nuisance. However, I do wish that I could go shopping or do s...

[in progress][1,495][Post-apocalyptic/dystopian Horror] Survivor's Macabre: Shane , a short story that takes place ...

14h ago

Hello readers and writers! I request some critique and feedback on a story that I am working on, it is my first story and I'm just making sure that it flows well and works for what it is. This is my first time posting to this specific subreddit so apologies if I have set it up in an incorrect format, hopefully you all may forgive me if so (Small note to go with that: I'm not sure if the word count has to be what I'm aiming for or what it is in its current status, so I did the ladder, sorry again if that's done incorrectly). Please let me know what may work and what may not, I hope anyone who reads this atleast somewhat enjoys it and that you all have a wonderful rest of y...

For those who worked in toxic jobs please give me advice?

15h ago

I got fired from a job I loved a couple months ago because the company couldnt afford to keep us anymore, I immediately began searching and quickly found a job at a pastry shop. I was excited because I dealt with pastries in my past job and was praised for my work. turns out this job has been nothing but **** because of the manager. to start off as well, I struggle on many aspects, I know I do, im autistic and I miss alot of social cues but Ive been working on them with a psychologist. to start, the first day my manager scolded me for using 5oz of milk instead of 4 and said I practically ruined the whole thing. then another time I was cleaning the station because the day was extremely slow...

Store I work at is unorganized and highly understaffed.

16h ago

I got a position as a part-time store associate a few months ago, and as a current student… my manager works with my school hours (for the most part). Except, I **** it so much. Typically, two people are on shift (front store), except when the pharmacy is busy and sometimes my coworker or manager will work at the pharmacy register so I’m left to all the front store activities. All my coworkers are full-time, and mind you I only have like 4 coworkers. They are all very nice, and I understand when they need to fulfill those other tasks. I always overhear customers and they even say it to my face how it’s ridiculous that there’s one person running the front store, and I silently agree w...

CVS transfer + working 2 days at old store… advice?

16h ago

Quick question: I’m transferring to a new store for a slightly higher role & pay but agreed to keep working two days a week at my current store for the next month. Is it better to officially transfer now and be borrowed back for those two days, or wait and fully transfer once that’s done? Looking for what’s best long-term and what’s most common at CVS. Thanks!

GoodRX and SingleCare

17h ago

My doctor office called in my script to CVS and my cost with insurance isn’t great, so I checked the price at CVS using GoodRX and SingleCare. I tried to use SingleCare and then GoodRX today and the tech advised me the price was even higher (surprisingly the same higher price with either discount program.) I’ve used these programs before at other pharmacies over the years and received the stated discount price with absolutely no problem. Is this a CVS issue or did the tech make a mistake?

Heads Up: 4th and Spring Garden Parking Lot

18h ago

Do not park in the lot adjacent to CVS, and go to CVS or Del Rossi's, or anywhere but the stores that are in that lot (hustlers, popeyes, deli), not even for 30 seconds. They have people sitting in a car watching to see if you go anywhere else, and if you do, they immediately put one of these "windshield barnacles" on your car, basically a suction boot - if you try to remove it yourself, it will crack your windshield. $100 for them to take it off. I saw one guy park there, go to Del Rossi's, but then was coming back to get something from the deli, and they still got him and charged him. All they have is a tiny little sign. The company is called Bob's Sponges.

Went in for an interview today…

18h ago

I’ve been looking for another job. Miraculously, I got a call about my application at Kay jewelry for a part-time position. I had my interview today; I felt like it went well enough (not too bad, but could have been a bit better with my answers). They said they usually start their employees with no experience at about $15 for sales-wise Which leads to my question: I have 3 years' experience in customer service in restaurant work (hosting) and an additional 4 and a half months in retail (pharmacy). They said they would get back to me in 2-weeks since I was the first person to be interviewed. While I won’t actively argue against having a lower pay when it comes to the sales p...
