Is running a fashion store the real-life Hunger Games? Let's share survival tips!

1h ago

Ever feel like running a fashion store is like competing in the Hunger Games? You're not alone. In the wild world of apparel, prices alone won't cut it. You've got to be the Katniss Everdeen of your market — agile, strategic, and a total boss at winning over audiences that scroll faster than you can say "add to cart." So, what's the game plan? Let’s dive into some strategies that might not get you a Mockingjay pin, but could totally boost your sales: 1. **Visual Storytelling**: Elevate your brand's vibe with killer images and videos that tell a story your audience can't resist. Think Instagram Reels, TikToks, or just some good old high-quality pr...

How To Move On From A Breakup

2h ago

Most people fail at no contact for one simple reason: they treat it like a tactic instead of an identity shift. When no contact is used as a strategy to get an ex back, every day becomes a silent negotiation with temptation. But when it becomes part of who you are, the internal battle weakens. This guide is not about willpower alone. It’s about psychology, habit formation, environment design, trauma awareness, and identity reconstruction. Healing from a breakup isn’t just emotional recovery — it’s neurological rewiring. 1. Rebrand your identity You are a no contacter, not a person who's trying to keep no contact. There's a big difference between these two identities. When...

Help, I think im being targeted

2h ago

So let me preface this by saying i work at Walmart on the fashion stocking team, i have worked on that team for 5 months now. I (18F) and my coworker (19F) have been getting in trouble for talking while we work but we dont talk often. Yesterday my coworker got called into the coaches office for seemingly no reason, when she came out of the office she started telling me what happened in there. According to her our coach (late 40s early 50s F) started bringing up the freight not getting done, and about her and I talking way too much while getting our jobs done, not getting anything done according to her. And she's told my coworker : "you just need to be the bigger person. And tell h...

Why is it bad to buy fast fashion (SHEIN, forever 21, etc.) second hand?

2h ago

I’m super into thrifting and the area I’m from is like 60% people who shop at thrift stores. I sometimes find cute clothes from fast fashion brand and I don’t think twice before picking it up if I like it. I keep seeing posts online about how thrifting SHEIN and similar brands is shameful and still morally wrong, but I don’t really understand why? I don’t buy new clothes from brands like that but when someone else has and then donated it, if I buy it I’m not directly supporting SHEIN and I’m saving the garment from the landfill. I never see reasons as to why it’s wrong on the posts, but many comments agree with them so I must be missing something.

Educating customers on quality VS Marketing slop

2h ago

Hey guys, For some background, we own and operate an online imitation jewelry company called 'The Festive Store'. We operate through a website and we manufacture and sell premium imitation / fashion jewelry, nothing in gold or silver. This is not a vent or a rant but some real life observations. Our challenge is that we want to educate people about imitation jewelry and its advantage over gold jewelry; with some obvious reasons - price, workmanship, versatility, insane retail margins, etc. In trying to do so, we faced a different challenge. Price competition. This is very natural as well. So we built our niche in high end, high quality jewelry. In the process we also built a stro...

Bootstrapped my service business for 18 months & felt stuck: Here's the 1-page system that actually helped ...

"Just keep posting on Instagram!" – Yeah, I got that advice a lot when our small e-commerce business was stuck at a plateau. We'd hit consistent mid-five figures monthly, but growth had flatlined. We were doing all the "right" things: good product, decent SEO, some paid ads, but it felt like we were just churning, not truly expanding. We needed more than incremental bumps; we needed new, qualified customers without just throwing more money at ads that weren't converting efficiently. So, we started looking *beyond* direct marketing and explored strategic referral partnerships. And honestly, it’s been one of the most effective, albeit grind-heavy, scaling str...

[PREMIUM] WP Rate and Review Pro – A Better Way to Build Trust for WooCommerce Products

3h ago

If you run a WooCommerce store, you already know one thing: reviews sell products. But default WooCommerce reviews are… honestly, very basic. No media, no deep filtering, and no real way to showcase customer trust properly. That’s exactly where WP Rate and Review Pro comes in. This plugin is built to turn simple product reviews into rich, trustworthy, conversion-focused feedback that actually helps customers make decisions. Why Standard WooCommerce Reviews Fall Short Out of the box, WooCommerce reviews usually mean: Text + star rating only No images or videos No advanced sorting or filtering No way to rate specific product attributes Poor review presentation on high-traffic pro...

So we are making a game about Sisyphus becoming a livestreamer. Initially, it was a jam game for GMTK-2025. It was very well received, and after assembling a steam page quickly, we've made a simple trailer, and it went viral, [with 100k views on an empty channel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHmXPcoWMMg). We were overwhelmed with this reaction, \~1000 wishlists in about a week. So we rushed to put our demo there - which was a slightly polished jam version... And it went totally wrong: * The median playtime was 9 minutes * Most of the feedback was very good, but it felt like a finished experience - and people unwishlisted it: people said they don't see how it can be developed...

Healing From A Breakup: With Psychology And Therapy Concepts

# 1) Rebrand your identity You are a no contacter, not a person who's trying to keep no contact. There's a big difference between these two identities. When you consider yourself as a no contacter, you have more motivation to keep it because your will is stronger. Identifying yourself as someone “trying” to keep no contact subconsciously forms an intuition to break it, because you don't really consider yourself as a no contacter. This creates a subconscious justification to break it later on. To build an identity, you must create proof of it. Constructing this identity involves action and major lifestyle changes. Throughout your identity change, your attachment to your...

Silk Taffeta Alternatives for Renaissance Dress

9h ago

Good evening all! I'm an amateur sewist (is that the term?) with a deep love for renaissance fashion, and I've come across this pattern from Reconstructing History which I adore! I've always admired the gamurra as a garment, and think it doesn't look too difficult or fabric-intensive to construct in comparison to other garments, so I think I want to make one for my first foray into historical costuming. https://preview.redd.it/s2tvq26n35kg1.png?width=612&format=png&auto=webp&s=8b321606925dff365bb9ba7e15c0e2569b7e7376 The recommended patterns for this fabric are "light weight wool or silk taffeta" and I believe I want to go for somethin...

First steps into high fashion jewelry?

11h ago

I began making jewelry about two years ago, and I'd like to start making my designs visible. I use sterling silver and gold vermeil. I have good marketing photos, and I'm quite interested in breaking into the high fashion jewelry market. Dreams include eventually being stocked in something like Nordstrom or Bergdorf Goodman or/and showcasing my jewelry during NYFW (it's okay if I never get there! I more so started this for the love of the trade lol, but I'd like to take steps in that direction). I have plenty of savings/capital from my day job, and money is no object; I have about $75K that I can use right now, and I can put in an extra $25K/year into this venture (hopef...

Victor Dickens and the Silent Minority: Interlude Me, Baby, One More Time

11h ago

**Interlude Me, Baby, One More Time**   In the cornerspace—the spot where two walls met the ceiling, which she stared into every night, attempting to sleep—something was amiss. Beth saw a cornerspace beyond the cornerspace, and another cornerspace beyond that. Her walls began rippling, dissolving into electricity—purple, swirling, cold. By this, she knew that she was dreaming.    The cornerspace widened, becoming a door, many doors that were one. A polished onyx knob sat dead center.    *How do I open this door?*  Beth wondered. Dream logic descended: *It swings neither leftward nor rightward, but inward.* She pulled the knob, drawing the door into herself. Becoming Beth...
