📅 Events worth leaving the house for this weekend [Today - Sunday]

11m ago

Hi everyone! 🌷This weekend brings classic New England May weather: clouds and rain. However the weather may be, the weather will not stop the party! Two of the biggest community/cultural events of the Boston calendar both land this Saturday: **Somerville PorchFest** (hundreds of bands across 3 zones across the city) and the **3rd Annual Boston Hot Sauce Festival** in Cambridge. Sunday is Mother's Day! Celebrate **with Lilac Sunday at the Arboretum** (the only day of the year you're allowed to picnic there) and **Duckling Day**, a parade of toddlers in yellow costumes that may be the most adorable Boston tradition that exists. **Wishing a happy Mother's Day to all Mothers an...

Mother's Day hand-painted vases filled with local flowers supporting a grassroots housing initiative, A Better Tent...

13m ago

If you're looking for a gift for a mom, partner, or matriarch in your life and want to support a grassroots initiative, check out A Better Tent City's social enterprise, Tiny City Makers. The vases were formed by Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery, hand-painted by residents at A Better Tent City, will be filled with local flowers and available for pick up at Camellia Bake Shop this Saturday. Pre-Orders are suggested, as limited stock is available. The residents put a lot of care and attention into every vase. Get yours before they're gone. Did anyone witness this? I feel there is more to the story.

I would love to see the bodycam footage of this. There are huge gaps in this story.

What to use for payment at Markets?

22m ago

Hi, I would like the most updated info so i did a new post. We would be travelling to Seoul in September and intend to visit markets for food. (Oh if anyone have food recommendation at namdaemun market, that would be great too!) So far, information I gathered is T-money for transport and convience stores, Amex/Visa/Mastercard can be used at shopping malls and i am guessing restaurants too. So now i am wondering what can I use at markets? Are they considered small vendors that only accept cash? Hope someone can advise me. Thank you.

Why do so many ecommerce product pages still fail to convert even with a good product?

23m ago

Do you think ecommerce brands focus too much on products but forget the actual shopping experience? I’ve seen stores with decent products but: • weak product images • no emotional branding • cluttered product pages • no trust-building • poor mobile experience Then they wonder why traffic isn’t converting. At this point, I honestly think product page structure and visual presentation matter just as much as the product itself. Customers buy based on feeling first before logic. What’s your opinion, do visuals or product page layout impact conversions more?

What kind of Stone is this?

29m ago

I got this rock years ago at an old local store that has since closed down. It has cracked and I would really like to purchase a new one, but since the store that closed down was my local rock shop I am unsure how to figure this out and me searching on the internet has not really given me a for sure answer as to what type of rock exactly I am wanting to purchase. Can anyone please tell me what this is?

Has anyone successfully broken the curse of SFH zoning in their town or city?

29m ago

My city and county are being held back by restrictive zoning in regards to where businesses are allowed to be. I know many, many people that would love to have a bakery or coffee shop or small hardware store down the street from their house. Because of the age of the neighborhoods, this could be easily possible, similar to what is seen in neighborhoods in Tokyo or Seoul. Has anyone in the US or Canada successfully changed the zoning in their town so people can put businesses in the bottom floor of their property?

I can't store items when building

30m ago

I'm building a glitch house, trying to make a kitchen. But when I try to put any furniture or item back into my storage, that text "Store \[item name\]" pops up, and nothing else. Not the usual question of "Store \[item\] YES / NO". Why is this happening? Everything was working fine yesterday. :(

Looking for a vintage designer store in Beverly Hills. Any recommendations?

31m ago

I only shop vintage if it is original Chanel or early Dior. My regular stores feel too common now. My assistant suggested The Real Real. That seems beneath me. Does anyone know a private seller who deals in museum quality pieces? Price is not a concern. But I refuse to wait for a waitlist. Thank you in advance.

[DISCUSSION] Selling art back in 2005 compared to now

32m ago

I used to run a really successful online shop, opened in 2005 (the famous one), along with my personal website and a few other vendors back in the late 2010's. It was extremely lucrative, and mostly just print sales of my digital illustrations. I ran a blog and had a Flickr, and both were very popular and helped to keep an audience. But to be honest, I never had to even try. The sales came almost as soon as I set up a shop, and within weeks I was earning over 2k per month. There was no 'influencer' culture in the way we perceive it today. I eventually moved on to pastures new and kept a very small store open for 'pocket money' as I rarely created illustration anymo...

I built a free Chrome extension to stop my late-night Amazon impulse buying - thought some of you might find it useful

37m ago

[](https://www.reddit.com/r/frugaluk/?f=flair_name%3A%22Deals%20%26%20Bargains%22)One of my ongoing regrets when trying to be frugal is that 11pm - 12am Amazon purchase... usually when I'm tried and should be asleep but somehow ended up on Amazon researching some gadget, then I've one-clicked something I definitely didn't need. So I built a little service to try and fix this for myself. It's a free Chrome extension that appears on Amazon product pages with one button: **Snooze it**. Click it and it sends you a reminder email in 24 hours, 48 hours, or a week or whatever you pick. When the reminder arrives, it tells you if the price has changed and asks if you still...

Moving tips for 35 year old

39m ago

Hey there! I am moving to Denver for the summer to do a travel contract at the UC health Aurora location. I have visited Denver in the past but never spent more than a few days there. I found a super cute apartment 1 block south of city park/colfax. Looking on Google Maps it seems like a good area? Lots of grocery stores and coffee shops. And in my experience living so close to a huge park also always means it’s a good area. What’s your thoughts and do you have any tips for me? Thank you so much!!!! I’m so excited to come to Denver!
