Need some ideas

2h ago

I own a small store/gas station in the Blue mountains of Oregon. We are around 70 miles from any city or town of any real size. Theres a ton of forest service roads and trails in the area. We do have public restrooms, food and fuel. My question is what do you guys look for or want to see in a destination spot or even just a break spot? Things like camping, showers, dry work shop for bike repairs, bike wash? We just bought the place and i want to make it as motorcycle friendly as possible for every kind of rider. Any ideas are worth a thought. Let me know what your ideas are.

Online metaphysical stores

3h ago

Whats ur guys favorite online stores for spiritual items? I had a lovely metaphysical store in person that unfortunately moved far away and now I'm kinda out of luck when it comes to buying stuff in person. I like going through a single store for my items. Im looking for an online shop that has ritual items like chalices, altar cloths, fire safe dishes, charcol discs, ect. Along with gems, frunky items like animal nails, teeth, and coffin nails. Got any ideas? I **** living in small towns lol so I'm always looking for new outlets.

AITAH for not wanting my mother-in-law to stay overnight in our home?

3h ago

I (F early 30s) live with my husband (early 30s) and our one-year-old son. We’ve been having a rough time in our relationship lately, mostly due to stress, a baby, and family boundaries. My mother-in-law lives abroad. We don’t have much of a relationship. I’ve seen her maybe a handful of times in my life. She comes to our country every few months for medical appointments. In the past, she stayed with her other sons, but after repeated conflicts with their wives, she no longer stays with them. A few months ago, my husband told me she asked if she could stay with us next time she visits. I was hesitant. We live in a small place, have no guest room, and I’m very dependent on a strict ...

If you could travel with ease between worlds what would you do?

3h ago

If you could travel back and forth what would you do? The isekai world: Magic multiple races wild beast late medieval technology. Guilds Think saving 80,000 gold in another world for reference. Me personally I would do what she did but with less effort or items. Instead of a general store. I would setup shop with dollar store candy and little Debbie snacks.

Carpet Install Price Check?

3h ago

Hello 👋, We just closed on our first house (yay!) and are looking to replace the carpet upstairs. It would include: 4 bedrooms + closets, hallway and stairs. Est. sq ft based off house plans is \~1000 sq ft. Currently the upstairs is carpeted, and would need to be torn out and replaced. We've been going to local carpet installers to shop around. One store had an employee who was super helpful, but we want to make sure we wouldn't be overpaying. He was able to give rough pricing estimates, but we have not yet scheduled measurements. The pricing he gave was per sq ft. and included: carpet removal, price of the new carpet, and 8 lb rebond pad underneath. Only thing not included w...

I had wanted to try Aldi's PurAqua spindrift dupe, but...

3h ago

So now that Costco stopped selling spindrift in my area and the fact I've had issues with spindrift's ethics/ customer service in the past, I had researched alternatives and saw that Aldi has a very interesting looking product that is half the price. I was wondering if anyone had any luck finding this product because when I went to my store they did not have the spindrift copycat, just the the inferior naturally flavored one.

Scary Sweet Disappointment: G3 Rooting

3h ago

I really like G3 of Monster High, a lot of the designs really grab my attention. One of the dolls I've been most excited to get was SSB Draculaura, aside from her core refresh doll, this is one of her best designs. I just got her today and she's stunning except for the giant bald spot on her head! She's not the first doll I've had this problem with. Lagoona's core refresh doll regularly suffered from poor rooting, when I saw it in stores, and mine is no different. I have a Fearbook Twyla also missing some plugs at her partline , which was also a common issue when I saw her in stores. Other dolls that I've seen this issue on include both Monsterfest Clawdeen and...

Heart rate spikes to ~140 bpm lasting 1–2 hours - anyone else?

3h ago

I get these episodes that feel like heart-racing attacks. For example, when I’m at the store and start putting the shopping cart away, I can get an episode. I’ve also had it happen when I get home and my cat comes to the door and I pick him up. Basically, my pulse suddenly shoots up very fast, and even if I lie down and stay lying down, my heart rate is around 140 bpm, and it can easily last for over 1.5 hours. I’ve tried contacting my cardiologist to ask if there’s anything that could be done to make these episodes shorter and less unpleasant, but I haven’t received a response. Have any of you experienced something like this, and if so, what do you do?

Dealing with resentment towards a parent?

3h ago

Hi everyone. I (29F) have been feeling a lot of resentment towards my mom lately. She has health issues and I pretty much started taking care of her when I turned 16, when I got my learners permit to drive. Since then, I take her everywhere like to doctors appointments and the grocery store. She has some issues where she can't walk for long periods of time so when we go to doctors, she's in a wheelchair and uses a motorized cart when we grocery shop. I have an older sister that moved out forever ago and sometimes when we talk to each other she gets emotional because she feels like she left me trapped. And part of me is angry with her too for not helping (although she can't now...

Built a Shopify app over Christmas, approved yesterday, first paying customer today $20 MRR with zero marketing

3h ago

Just had to share this because I'm buzzing. **The problem I scratched** If you've ever tried selling on Google Shopping as a Shopify merchant, you know the pain of Google Merchant Center compliance. Products get disapproved for random reasons — missing fields, policy violations, feed formatting issues. It's a nightmare to debug and fix. I looked at existing solutions and they were either expensive enterprise tools or had clunky Shopify integrations that felt like an afterthought. I figured I could build something better — native to Shopify, focused specifically on GMC compliance, and affordable. **The build** I had two weeks off over Christmas and decided to just go f...

List of some non-scale victories lately!

3h ago

* sitting with my legs crossed * being in the backseat of a car with 2 others and not feeling embarrassed * shopping confidently for clothes in *any* store * more comfortably sharing a full-size bed with my partner * barstools/folding chairs (IYKYK) * Needing a tighter notch on my belt and watch * sitting on airplanes Having lived in a very large and now much smaller body, the differences in treatment are also astounding. That’s societal and a way bigger convo, but phew, it is mind boggling the ways I navigate the world now and the ways in which the world now navigates me!

More More Now Records (New Record Store on Halsey St.)

3h ago

To be honest, I was a little apprehensive about a new record store coming out of nowhere and with (seemingly) no connection to Newark, but I got a chance to go in yesterday and was really surprised. I got to chat up Peter (the owner) and found out he has experience at other vinyl shops around the state—ones that I respect. He expressed that he's really committed to stocking records that will be purchased by local residents and that's he's open to events. I really recommend people check it out.

We dont work here mister, we're too young

3h ago

An urban adventure from long ago. It's 1963. I am an 8th grade student, living in a large US city. Me and a girlfriend take the bus downtown. Dressed up to go shopping, as girls did: skirts just above the knee, penny loafers, knee socks. Bouffant pageboy hairdos. Fashionable, and looking every bit of 13 years old. We go to our favorite Big Downtown Department Store. Looking at school clothes, looking at casual clothes. Admiring the displays and seasonal decor. Wandering around the home furnishings departments, looking at our favorite china and silver patterns (contemporary dishes and Danish silverplate for me, more traditional china and silver for her). Then we take an elevator dow...

Le Creuset in Italy?

3h ago

My baby brother is headed to Italy next week and he owes me big time. So I know I could guilt him into stopping somewhere and doing a little shopping if I asked. Are there LC stores in Italy? Does Italy have any of the colors I love but don’t get here in Ohio USA? Provence, berry? Just dreaming?

CTCA CEO Nick Jarman Featured on BBC News about the rise in trading card shop burglaries — it’s time to unify

3h ago

Hey u/theCTCA — CTCA here (Certified Trading Card Association). We were recently featured on BBC News discussing the increase in trading card shop burglaries happening across the world. And the bigger this hobby gets, the more we’re seeing bad actors treat card shops like easy targets. This isn’t just “insurance will handle it.” When a shop gets hit, the damage goes way beyond inventory: - staff and owner safety gets shaken - local communities lose their gathering place - customers lose access to product and trust in the market - small businesses can get set back months (or permanently) - This is an industry problem — not a single-shop problem If you’re a shop owner, you al...

Need help. I am feeling sorry for the fishes

3h ago

Hi everyone, I’m writing this post to seek guidance from the experienced people here. I’m honestly feeling ashamed, stressed, and heartbroken right now. I am a complete beginner. One day my wife mentioned that fish tanks look cool, so I randomly went to a big fish shop to buy one. There was one salesperson handling all the customers, and he seemed experienced, so I trusted him completely. I told him clearly that I didn’t know anything—not even fish names—and asked him what tank and fish I should buy. He advised me to buy: A tank with a built-in filter Some decorations and stones (he told me to rinse the stones) Fake plants Fish that “can live together” He sold me: Gold...
