Reference: Dolphin Musical Water Globe — Late‑1990s Gift‑Shop Construction

3h ago

**Reference photos sourced online; not my globe.** **This dolphin‑themed musical water globe appears to come from the late‑1990s to early‑2000s gift‑shop era, commonly found in coastal shops, aquarium stores, and museum gift stores.** **Observed characteristics** * **Static water globe seated into a sculpted resin base** * **Integrated exterior dolphins and wave motifs** * **Interior dolphin pair swimming over reef elements** * **Visible and stable water line** **Posting as a reference to document unbranded/globes‑by‑form rather than by name—how anonymous pieces fit into globe history and conservation discussions.** **If anyone recognizes the tune, manufacturer, or has han...

Topps Chrome Hobby Opening…. Worth it?

3h ago

Decided to stop by the local card shop and they had the Topps Hobby 20% off if you opened in the store which was the best deal I have seen with these boxes so far. Decided to take a chance and get one and this is what I got. Do we think Topps chrome is legit or no?

Promoting Pickup & Delivery.

3h ago

A competing store recently opened down the street and walk in service has taken a hit. We purchased 2 years ago and we're blessed with a very busy store. We do a decent amount of WDF drop off but nothing in Pickup and Delivery. We have the employees and now also the available machines. I am willing to put the time in to do the driving and pickups and delivering myself. We are offering a super low rate of $1.65/lb to try and get customers. I Have only tried advertising on Facebook/Instagram but have not seen great results. Any ideas or recommendations for what has worked for anyone to gain customers. Our website is Clean Cloud standard website. I am willing to out in whatever time i...

Struck silver on the shelf AND in the register

3h ago

Spent the afternoon hitting four different thrift shops. At the last one, I spotted this Duchin Creation weighted sterling holder for only $2.75 CAD. The craziest part? I paid with three loonies and got this 1968 silver quarter back as my change! Tested with a magnet, it's the non-magnetic 50% silver version. To find silver on the shelf and then get silver back in my change at the same store is a first for me. One of my most unforgettable thrift finds ever.

My first Gilmore experience (what is it like to visit gilmore)

3h ago

Hello everyone, so yeah the day has come and I finally went to gilmore to buy some pc components for my new build. Just a heads up that experiences might differ from one another, so feel free to consider everyone's POV and opinion about gilmore. Story time, dumating kami dun around 2PM, so medyo puno na yung parking pero luckily there was still two vacant parking slots. Akala ko nga nung una wala ng parking kase andaming naka hazard. Heads up lang na andaming nakaharang sa tabi ng kalye, kaya much better na i-plan nyo ahead of time yung lane ng kotse nyo (must be in the left side for easy access sa building ng gilmore, one way din yung daan dun). May nag assist agad sakin sa parking a...

Budget up to $100 - Comic Book Character for my local Comic Book Shop owner whose dog is terminally ill.

3h ago

I’d like two 3D Print Files A little backstory, my local comic book store owner’s dog has been diagnosed with a terminally aggressive form of cancer and has less than two weeks. When I stopped in the same the other day he’s been looking for something to put in his comic book shop that makes him think of his dog Scout. He has a tattoo of this image and I would like the two print file files to be this. 1. The comic book cover as singular file I can print that almost looks like a real comic book. 2. 3-D model Groo and his dog from this issue as a 16 inch model/action figure type. I have a Bambi h2c so preferably the model would be set up in AMS so I can just print without painting

Road Trip Stop Reccomendations

3h ago

Hi! I’m from Rhode Island, but my boyfriend lives in Jeffersonville VT, Fall-Spring. We usually see each other every 2 weeks and the drive is starting to feel pretty mundane. Does anyone have any good recommendations for stops along the way? I take 91 to 89 and would be love to know some good spots/hidden gems within \~30 mins of the highway that could break up the drive! Ideally this would be southern/mid VT before the highway splits! I love good coffee shops, breakfast spots, antique stores, scenic views, oddities, or whatever might be unique to the area :) I’ll also take VT recs in general!!! Thanks 😊

Hey, guys my Aussie swallowed a small white ball while on a walk.

3h ago

He was sniffing the grass and suddenly swallowed what looked like a tiny ball. Smaller than a ping pong ball. Really small. Like in the picture above. He is a 55 pound Aussie. Bout a year old. Will he be able to pass it out. Or should I take him to the vet. Thanks in advance🙏🙏

When do the new Aldi finds go live to add to cart for store pickup?

3h ago

I want to get a couple of those Belavi trellis planters and I don’t want them to sell out! Wondering if the Aldi finds go live at midnight or Wednesday morning? I am in the Midwest, central time.

Ready to go, I think

Is it worth buying this?

3h ago

I’ve been really struggling to understand math lately, and my work schedule makes it hard to line up with any tutors in my area. Right now I’ve been using the **Get Sum Math** YouTube channel, and it’s been somewhat helpful—but I feel like I need more explanations and especially more practice problems. I’m also thinking about buying **GED Flash for Math (1 month for $17.99)** from the official GED site (I added a screenshot). Has anyone here actually used it? Is it worth the money, or should I stick to free resources? Has anyone used Get Sum Math seriously to learn or pass the GED? Did it actually work for you? And if so, what else did you use along with it for practice? I’m t...

Loan to Renovate Garage to Showroom

3h ago

Does anyone have any experience getting a small business loan to convert a building you own into a cabinet / furniture showroom? My banking is with my local credit union now but not sure what to expect. Backstory, first we own a workshop 30x50', free and clear, but needs a bit of work to convert it to a showroom. I had a cabinet shop that I started under my husbands remodeling business about two years prior before splitting off last December to my own LLC. I started with 30k in December net profit, then a few slow months so it ate up for salary and overhead. Total overhead is about on a high end 9k but realistically 8k a month. This week we are closing in on 2 kitchen jobs that will n...

Fender Japan Heritage 60s Jazzmaster

3h ago

Snagged this 2025 tuxedo unicorn for a great price last week. The black nitro finish is a Fender Tokyo Flagship Store FSR. This is the finest guitar I’ve ever owned – the neck is Custom Shop worthy. It really is that good. Specs are in line with a late 1964/early 1965 reissue during the CBS transition. \- Alder body \- Black nitro finish \- Glossy nitro neck, 60's medium C-shape \- Gold “transition” decal \- 7.25" radius \- Bone nut \- Pearloid dot inlays \- Single-line vintage style tuners (like the AVRI 65) \- Cloth wiring \- Exclusive Japanese pickups wound to American Vintage specs
