Context for question is mainly when using store bought dried pasta to make chicken noodle soup. Brands like Barilla Krogers Stater Bros Garofalo (from Costco) You can cook the pasta and leave it to soak and the only thing happens is that it swells up and stays reasonably firm / springy. Like where once you take it off the heat you can leave the pasta in the broth for 30 minutes and it will get to like canned soup quality in firmness. You can leave it at room temperature overnight for like 12 hours and it will be massively swollen and still have a bit of firmness to it. I check out local Variety/Discount stores and compare prices to Walmart. I got a bucket of 400 tide pods for $40. I think those will last for years. I got a tub of Cascade dishwasher tabs for $7 less than Walmart. It's a great place to also save on things like Shampoo etc. we have several places by us that claim to be that but really only a couple had things I was looking for. I also will take my grocery list to Aldi and get what I can there and then do a pick up order at Walmart for what I can't. Hope this helps someone.
